- Porsche's 911 has been around for awhile now and it seems with every update the 911 just gets better. Does that tradition hold true for the new 992? We head out in a base Carrera to find out.

Love your spec mate. Finally someone had the balls to do the full gold and black. Lovely.
This is the only review that covers the pendulum effect, engine smell, 911 rear bias setup, sounds etc. Great stuff .
Carrera is plenty fast.
Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Refreshing review. I can tell it’s your car.... you love it!! Well done.
This is arguably the best 992 review I’ve seen on UA-cam and I’ve seen a lot. Awesome spec. Basically my exact dream car. I’m glad you love it as much as I do.
Thanks for the comment! Much appreciated and welcome to the channel!
What a great review, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The "yeehah!" expression at the end seems to succinctly describe the feeling of driving a 911 :) also I never thought I'd like the gold wheels but against the black exterior paint it just looks gorgeous and classy. Enjoy this beautiful marvel of automotive engineering.
Thank you! Rieck totally fell in love with the classic styling of the black with the Porsche name running along the side and the gold wheels. Somehow it makes this modern iteration look vintage. We appreciate your comments!
911, the car with a soul.
And when it’s driven you learn that it has a heart.
Great presentation that succeeds in showing those two qualities.👍
Thanks for your comments! We agree, the 911 has heart AND soul! Appreciate your thoughts! Welcome to the channel!
That's probabky the best description of a Carrera 911 i have ever heard. Well done!
Thank you!
Great review and love the camera work!
Thanks so much!
Good vid. Straight to the point. Enjoyed it! Love 911,s
Great and informative review, very well filmed and presented.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel!
A refreshing review that describes the feel while avoiding all the usual cliches. 👏
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it! Welcome to the channel!
The sound of the engine… a wonderful symphony … thanks for the great review
Thanks for watching!
Great review, lovely car and a great choice, many thanks! Greetings from 🇬🇧
Looks amazing. 911.2 looks just as good. Can’t decide which one looks better
Beautiful review. I hAVE OVER 17,000 miles on my 992 C4S, and have the extra set of wheels with Pirelli snow/ice tires. I drive it like it should be driven and have no regrets. I started off 40 years ago with a 12 y/o 911t (1972 model), first generation. Been gradually moving up in the models and this 992 has everything I love in a car…including tech goodies. And the Bermester is fantastic .
Enjoy that baby to its FULLEST! All caps required! ;)
Excellent video... Excellent analysis of a fantastic car. 🎯
Excellent review. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Thank you!
Absolutely the favourite!! There are only two types of cars in the world: 911 and others. Thanks for sharing this great video.
Thanks for your comment. We love it. 911 and others. :D Welcome to the channel!
Great review. Great car. She even looks good dirty. Love those wheels
Thanks for your comments and welcome to the channel!
Wonderful review and you can tell you spec it how you wanted it. Good on you! Only ding I am going to give you is that care should be MT. You are a purist and makes the driving experience another level. Just MHO.
Thanks for your comments! Rieck swears he likes the PDK more than a manual for real-world driving. We're not sure we agree and would lean heavily towards the manual! :) Welcome to the channel!
Wow! Loved your video; thank you!
Thank you! Welcome to the channel!
Yeah, nice "bandit livery" and I dig that you got the base Carrera...It's all anyone needs!
Shame that the accountants at Porsche won't let you get a base Carrera with a 3rd pedal.
Yeah they want you the buy S unfortunately
Beautiful spec
Great video, stunning car.
Thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel!
Really convincing video on the 992. I had a 991.1S and sold it last year, ended up missing it more than I expected - I was planning on getting another one, but I'm really considering the 992 as well at this point.
Thanks for your comments. The 992 is something special, but so are most 911's! Best wishes on your decision and welcome to the channel!
Congrats, saw it at Porsche Exchange
The base spec is gettin a lot of love lately!
It's a solid choice!
Awesome spec, I have a 17 carrera with the 7 spd in black
Enjoy in good health!
I’ve seen pretty much every video on the 992 but this one is one of my favorites. Just watched it again to confirm my choice of an aventurine green Carrera s. Confirmed 😊
What a beautiful car
My first pedal box cam view for a PDK.
thats it you convinced me! im buying it
Well then, you are most welcome! ;)
Thanks
Excellent camera work, excellent review. Subbed.
Thank you and welcome to the channel!
Would you be able to share with us on what performance options you think are critical to order the 911 with:
Sports Chrono
Sport exhaust
Wider wheels
Lift pack
Good video sir.
Thanks! Welcome to the channel!
nice spec bro only missing thing is the sport package. but in black i guess its fine stock to. do you have/need the front lifting system?
Thank you! We think it looks pretty 70's hot in this spec. A little classical with the current. On this 911 the front end lift is not really needed. The front overhang is short enough and there is no long front splitter like on the GT models.
Also, base Carrera has 379HP, not 397HP. Probably transposed the numbers
Good video
Thank you! Welcome to the channel. Don't forget to subscribe for all the latest!
Just took mine off-roading this morning 😂
We hope it was planned! :)
Is this 911 base? Thoughts on F80/G80?
Engine suspension? OMG never heard anywhere else
Hey do you find that the top part of the passenger door is not quite flush with the pillar?
We found the fit and finish on this 911 to be most excellent.
Did you drive an S before purchase? Would love to hear your thoughts
Great question! But alas, no. No S model before rolling out in this one. We can say that the GTS is ahhhmazing! Quite a step in difference between this one and the GTS. No time behind-the-wheel of the S though. Best wishes and thanks for watching!
Got a chance to drive both last week and thought the S rode stiffer and felt the bumps more even though the base was equipped with the same size wheels and sport chrono package. I didn't get to do but a short loop with both but couldn't feel a huge difference in power and acceleration between the two kept thinking the base felt like an overall better experience
Really enjoyed your review. Love that is was focused on actually driving the car, and that it was a base carrera, and that you drive it all year round, and the interior is not reason you bought the car. I think you got the numbers on hp reversed 97 vs 79. Was the sport exhaust worth the premium? What other cars did you cross shop before pulling the trigger?
Sorry about the upper case letters. I didn’t look at it before I hit the send button.
Exceptional review. I watched it more than once. The black paint and gold details just gives it such chic retro look. I love to hear another review from you on particular aspects of this car. Also the is the black paint flat or metallic? In Australia metallic black is no cost option.
Thanks so much for your comments! This black had a little metallic in it!
Actually Ferdinand Porsche did not design the 911...his grandson, ‘Butzi’, the son of Ferry Porsche, designed the body.
4:04 the horsepower is 379 not 397 , great video anyways , thank you .
it feels like 397
385hp
OLLES RSC FERDINAD VON PECH NEEDS TO DO A NEW PORCHE 911 GT1 BIG PORCHE BOXER 12 EV HYBRID & PORCHE V12
Wouldn't that be something?!
kers
love my new 992... made a little video here: ua-cam.com/video/Q6L3bz_H1GQ/v-deo.html
Nice spec! May you enjoy it in good health! Welcome to the channel.
Noticed your name - the Eames Lounge and the 911 hold the same position in each of their domains - pinnacles of modern design.
331 ft-lb motor for over $100K? A Honda Civic with more power and less weight costs $30K. I prefer the faster Civic's styling to the recycled VW bug vibe, plus I get a free house.
Perhaps, but we've driven every Civic currently on offer from Honda and not a single one of them provides the purity of driving joy that this car does. :)

"Purety" of driving is what you say when neither car is fast, right? Point is, both cars relentlessly suck, so take the free house.
@@FFE-js2zp 3.5 seconds to 60 is pretty fast. The 911 also hustles around corners like few others. We would argue it is, indeed, fast. We would also agree that the 911 is quite pricey so perhaps wait a year or two and grab one on the secondhand market for a deal. Though we do like the idea of a free house! Have a guest room?
@@WeAreMotorDriven
A $100K 911 is a mid 4 sec car. I'm old enough to remember when Porsche was forced to cancel the 911 widow maker for its putrid handling, killing the amateur driver dentist demographic that is drawn to the brand. Its front engine V8, 50/50 weight distibution replacement, the 928, was the best car Porsche ever made, but alas, dentists needed a rear engine VW bug derivative.
For another $100K, Porsche will install a $75 retail turbo requiring little to no sorftware integration that will surge with its on/off, 3 second delay refinement, mostly uncontrollably, into the mid 3s.
@@FFE-js2zp I'm old enough to have owned a first-gen 911 Turbo with the whale tail. It drove fine but certainly used it's fair share of oil. It also overheated. But it was fun. For the record, the car in this video (a standard 911 Carrera) runs 0-60 in 3.5 seconds (our testing). Porsche claims 3.8 to 60 and other automotive outlets have tested 3.5 - 3.6 seconds. A Carrera S does the deed in 2.9 - 3.0 seconds. The turbo you speak of is in the mid TWO-second range. Blisteringly fast. Older 911 Turbos had some element of on/off boost but today's twin turbo 911 just doesn't. It's clear you're not a 911 fan and the great thing is you don't need to get one! :) Thanks for the banter and have a great day!
You gotta fix your nervousness. It's unwatchable.
