Damn you are prolly one of the best reviewer I have ever seen. Most reviewers show cool musics and graphics but your is far way beyond that level. Very intuitive.
Great review!! You need a tv show deal man. Extremely professional and well spoken. I laughed at the fast food cup in the holder. Very practical and straight forward review. Kudos!
The F-Type (especially the R) is stunning in every way. And I agree - the real wheel drive and hydraulic steering found in the 2015 R is the ultimate model. Great review! You just added a Subscriber.
Would the M4 not compare? The M4 coupe comes in around the F-Type as far as base price goes, is available in both coupe and convertible variants, as well as somewhat similar transmission options. The M4 is clearly a 2+2 (having owned an M4 I can tell you the rears are useless as with most 2+2s) however the F does have the AWD. I just find it odd to compare the A/S5 and not the M4 to the F. Great video none-the-less.
Excuse me for being a stickler, but when you were describing the moonroof "cover", you described it as being "opaque so it does block out all the light." Opaque means that some light does come through. Just thought I'd point that out. Still, a great video, as always.
He mentioned that with supercharged engines, doing repeated 0-60's in hot weather will see a decrease in time. Is that a permanent thing, or just during the time you are in those weather conditions? I'm not hip to the science of supercharged engines and the pros/cons so I open to an explanation. Thank you in advance!
Hello Alex. I noticed many auto journalists tend to compare this to the Corvette Stingray. Did you leave the Corvette out since it's not quite the luxury sports coupe? What about comparing it with the Nissan 370z? Looks like the rear pillar visibility is just as bad. In your Mustang GT review you compared it to lot more coupes, both 2 and 4 seaters. I presume the F-Type is the most refined of the bunch.
Hey Alex, I have quick critique/ recommendation. It would be cool if you told us more about the personality of the cars like Everyday Driver does rather than "It handles better than...". Your videos are so, so thorough. You are just missing that little bit.
gotta ask... why the SLK and not the SL? I thought Jag was touting this as an E Series successor for style and prestige, primarily to compete with the 911 and SL. Possibly even the Corvette. You got my attention comparing it to a Z4 and SLK.
And why not mention then hard top on the SLK? Anyone who has ever owned a convertible knows the hard tops are infinitely better than even the best fabric ones.
Alex, you should do one of your engineering explanations on the topic of turbochargers vs super chargers, vs twin turbo and cars that have both turbo and supercharger. History of turbocharging would be interesting as well. I remember my parents had a turbocharged '86 LeBaron GTS that burned through three of them. Apparently in those days you could not let them idle for any extended period of time. Anyway, would be great to have an explanation of the differences of these types as well as how the engineering has improved since the 70's and 80's. Thanks.
None of the other cars compared can hold a candle to the looks of the F-Type. And you buried the lead, the fact that the reviewed car has a manual transmission. When I was searching for information on manual F-Types your video didn't pop up. I just bought a 2016 3.0 S with manual, it is optioned almost identically to this car, should arrive in the next couple of days.
Z06 if you like aggressive styling, want to blow everyone's doors off and be king of the road. F Type of you're leaning more towards comfort, style and interior quality.
Comparing this vehicle to any Audi is like apples and oranges. They're totally different cars. You want to compare this to a Corvette, a Porsche, or something along those lines. It's a sportscar, not a luxury sedan. The AMG was a perfect comparison, actually. The AMG is faster and handles better, but personally, I like the Jag better. I do appreciate the level of detail you provided in this review, it was very helpful.
Hi, AlexOnAutos team. I don't know if you guys can make this happen, but im gonna ask any way. When you guys are showing the interior, could you put the car in a dark garage or film a small portion of the interior shot at night - to show how the interior dials and knobs light up (or don't light up) at night. Please also show reading lights and any lights along the door seals. Also, please show how the exterior lights "behave". This would be greatly appreciated. I love your in-depth reviews, otherwise. Keep up the great work!!!
+Zi Wang The Cayman comparison is similar to the 911 comparison to be honest. The weight balance is the biggest difference and the Cayman is still rear heavy despite having the engine in front of the rear axle vs behind it as in the 911. The Jaguar comes across as a hair more polished and a little more forgiving.
+Alex on Autos you definitely confused about the 3 cars, I own an 911, a Cayman and the F-type, and you cannot be more wrong about the balance and agility of the Cayman compared to the 911...heavy on the back give me a break!!
Love the F-type but the Corvette is more powerful, get better MPG and cheaper to buy and maintenance in the long run. Even it doesn't has the luxury brand name but the interior is really good. But it is in between the F-type S and the F-type R.
It turns out India's (Tata's) sense of humor is more germanic than the Germans. They build a 550hp rwd monster with hydraulic steering, then they take it away and say "AWD, electric steering and automatic only!" They let people have a taste, to get them hooked, like a good dealer. Then they laughed at the sorrow as they took it away for no reason. They seem to find that kind of thing entertaining, I guess.
Are you kidding me , The convertible looks terrible compared to the coupe . , And you get a way bigger truck and much nicer style and lines , Not to mention the couple has the power lift gate .
I think the Porsche Cayman S is a better value than the F-Type too; a well-equipped Cayman S is about $85,600. Yes, the optional exhaust of the F-Type sounds better than most sports cars, but everything else the Cayman S is hard to beat. Exterior styling is very subjective, I love the rear design of F-Type, but I prefer the shorter hood of Cayman.
I was fortunate to spend a decent amount of time driving both. Cayman is objectively better but I enjoyed the F Type much more, so that's what I bought.
Man... thank you. Wow. You blew my mind. FANTASTIC. Thanks. I got a base non S b/c 40hp & 1 sec on 0-60 on the manual cost an extra $10K. Having driven a 95 YJ Wrangler for 20 years, I figured I might kill myself with extra power. BRG with tan convertible top. You are right about the convertible... it's far more beautiful than the coupe. You are also right on the vision pack... it's suicide without the lane change warning. Cheers and impressive. Well done.
Dual exhaust over quad? I'll pass on dual... I have the 2016 R (V8 AWD) and the quad is very sexy. I do agree about the foot size, I have a 10 1/2 - 11 shoe and it is a bit annoying. Otherwise I love the car.
Wow, reverse camera and sensors not standard fitment in a vehicle at this price point? I love almost everything about this car, but that's really shit, my current car came with it as standard in 2009 and it was half the price of this! Fucking shitty base model Hyundai's come with that as standard now! Get with it Jaguar, people shouldn't have to pay extra for stuff that should be standard! Great review BTW, so much good info.
Oh yeah...electronic steering is a POS...I would NEVER buy one over hydraulic. If you don't agree, then you never drive over 60 and obey all speed limits...
an F-type review and you didn't open the taps!!! the sound is one of the best things about this car!
this is one of the best reviews ive ever viewed. just because of the comparisons.
My 2015 F-Type is my daily driver. I absolutely love the car and have no complaints.
The most comprehensive review of the F Type ever. Thank you
This is by far, the most comprehensive review of this car I have seen. Definitely helped in my purchase decision, great job.
I agree! Did you get one in the end?
I love the rear "haunches" in this car. wonderful line and shape
Damn you are prolly one of the best reviewer I have ever seen. Most reviewers show cool musics and graphics but your is far way beyond that level. Very intuitive.
This is the best car review I've seen to date
Thi is the best explanation I have ever seen on a car. Well done Alex.
nice camera work... however I'd like to see a footage of the exhaust sound in all your reviews!
+1
Great review!! You need a tv show deal man. Extremely professional and well spoken. I laughed at the fast food cup in the holder. Very practical and straight forward review. Kudos!
The F-Type (especially the R) is stunning in every way. And I agree - the real wheel drive and hydraulic steering found in the 2015 R is the ultimate model.
Great review! You just added a Subscriber.
S for 15k less is plenty for me
The body style reminds me of a modern version of the 1974 Datsun 260z I had in high school.
Great job assessing the competition, Alex, and talking about the issues with getting a manual F-Type
I love how detailed this is
I drove this car last week it is absolutely amazing!
This car looks way better than all the others you recommended except the R8.
Great video none-the-less.
most in-depth review
Great review! Thank you. I’m in process of buying ftype S And this is a very informative video. Thank you
Great video. Really like the new camera angles. Car looks amazing
Hey Alex, you mentioned the 911, but what about a Boxter, Boxter S, Cayman, Cayman S?
Outstanding comprehensive review.
Excuse me for being a stickler, but when you were describing the moonroof "cover", you described it as being "opaque so it does block out all the light." Opaque means that some light does come through. Just thought I'd point that out. Still, a great video, as always.
+joeguitargod No, opaque means no light goes through. You are thinking if the term translucent. :)
SaintLlamaHandZ Wrong. Opaque means that light does come through, but not images. Google the two terms to see the differences. :)
dictionary.reference.com/browse/opaque
NO light comes through.
dictionary.reference.com/browse/translucent
Some light but not clear images. ;)
This guy gives good review.
The F-Type also can be compared to a BoxterS and CaymanS. You might mention that cargo space on the F-Type convertible is nearly non-existant.
Great review Alex, very detailed, especially against it's rivals dynamics and pricing.
He mentioned that with supercharged engines, doing repeated 0-60's in hot weather will see a decrease in time. Is that a permanent thing, or just during the time you are in those weather conditions? Excellent review, very professional.

+sheridanbucket Mainly on price, the SL is considerably more expensive.
+Alex on Autos could you do an Evo X please?!
And why not mention then hard top on the SLK? Anyone who has ever owned a convertible knows the hard tops are infinitely better than even the best fabric ones.
Will the seat adjustments cater for a female driver who's only 160cm(5'3ft) in height?
Excellent overview!
+bongmistt Women should not be allowed to drive this car.
fx02zbn - I would agree with you if it were the V8 Type-R.
Alex, you should do one of your engineering explanations on the topic of turbochargers vs super chargers, vs twin turbo and cars that have both turbo and supercharger. wow this red is unique and is the only red which goes well with the f type
looking forward to the M2 this month.
Very thorough review! Thank you! Been researching these for a while now. F-Type R convertible is a "must have".
Why do you not test the Porsche Macan or any newer porsches??
None of the other cars compared can hold a candle to the looks of the F-Type. And you buried the lead, the fact that the reviewed car has a manual transmission. I'm curious...How's the interior space (seating position) compare to the corvette?
how would you compare F-Type with Z06? I'm thinking of getting one but still undecided which one would better better to get.
Z06 if you like aggressive styling, want to blow everyone's doors off and be king of the road. F Type of you're leaning more towards comfort, style and interior quality.
Z06 all the way .....
How does the interior noise level compare with the Porsche 911?
Been driving a Z4 for 4 years, and getting the S this year!
Will you review the XE? Pick the 2.0T, it probably will sell more than the 3.0...
Really enjoy your videos Alex. Will you be doing a review on the 2016 MX-5 ?
+Varg I hope so, probably in about 2 months
Ur all over the place at the end of the review talking about competition. And I'm surprised u never mentioned C7 Stingray as competition.
That black plastic bar over the grille is HIDEOUS! Kills the design
+tigerbalm thank the US safety regulations for that
+Torrey B i dont even get the point of that being mandatory.. it doesnt add anything what so ever to the safety of the car
It has to do with some sort of rigid addition to the bumper that is hidden behind that black plastic piece
+tigerbalm I'm not crazy afterall. I thought I was the only one who thinks the black bar is an eyesore. The car would be beautiful without it.
+Torrey B Yes, but not all cars have that bar visible. Some designers are better at hiding it. Jaguar didn't even try.
great review, always love your videos
Would this vehicle accommodate a tall person: 6'-3"/250lbs???
why did Jaguar get rid of the hydraulic steering? it's obviously a turn for the worse judging from all the negative reviews
Comparing this vehicle to any Audi is like apples and oranges. They're totally different cars. You want to compare this to a Corvette, a Porsche, or something along those lines. High end reviews for the discerning enthusiast.
and in 2018?? with the Audi TT RS ?
What's the point of the speed limiter?
I bought the 2018 F Type R V8 and I’ve been in love with it since it left the showroom! Love my car♥️👍🏻
Excellent reviews--though I tire of the electronics/buttons and would like to see more of cornering dynamics. I'm still about the driving.
Hey, Alex. How does it compare to the RC350 and RC F?
Hey Alex! Could you do a video on Android Auto and the cars that will feature it in their 2016 models? Keep making great reviews!
Great video as always, thoughts on the new civic?

Is there a Jaguar XE review video yet? I can't find it
nice review as always Alex. It would have been better if you could capture the exhaust sound. :-)
competitor cars look like dogs compared to this beauty. I prefer the F-Type coupe over the convertible. it looks soooo much better. amazing car
Brilliant review.
FYI I have a V6 S 6MT and I get 22 mpg.

Great review.
Best car reviews!
And no cooled seats😢???
Cooled and heated seats are an optional extra.
Joe Kellett ohh ok
Awesome car! I know this case i have one!
The V6 F Type manual trans is what the new Nissan Z car should have been.
Electric steering in a Jaguar F-Type. I can't imagine anyone who is in the market for one of these preferring fuel efficiency over handling.
It turns out India's (Tata's) sense of humor is more germanic than the Germans. They build a 550hp rwd monster with hydraulic steering, then they take it away and say "AWD, electric steering and automatic only!"

Unfortunately, I think the culprit is the federal government and their fuel consumption regulations. It's sucking the life out of everything.
Awesome Review (tell the owner to paint correct that poor thing).

Cayman has no street presence the f type has...
Your reviews are like no other. Thank you!
Very nice review however I got quite squeamish watching you shut the boot with you inside lol
Love this car. Love it.
Such detailed work!!! Holy sh

I am in debt. Donate.
Automatic > Manual ;)
has to be the wrost video seen for years cluttered with adds you could not get ride of most taking up too much screen area very poor indeed
Nobody cross shop z4 and f coupe.
I will unsubscribe now.
Great review, thanks.
