This car is astonishingly gorgeous and sounds amazing. The British racing green is timeless and that butterscotch leather is classic. This will absolutely be a collectors car that sells for over $1mm 50 years from now.
Wow, more fun than an M4! High praise Nick! That British Racing Green is so classy and looks so right on this car. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it so much! And now they just announced they're cutting the prices by a couple grand for the 2017 model year. This car is just getting more and more appealing. How did you feel about the AWD though Nick? Was it still able to feel playful and get the back end out at all?
+subaruwrxfan Hey Matt. Thanks yes, I think they needed to drop the price. It competes with the Cayman/Boxster which can be had much cheaper. The AWD was fine, I still prefer a RWD but this car still kicked the rear out willingly. Would be interested to drive the R or a manual. The MT would be the icing on the cake.
11094DEREK Might be the fact that the day it came out it was already a timeless design and the slow important optional changes like a coupe body, R model, manual transmission, AWD which all make it seem new because it's always being reviewed.
Own this year and model. No seat issues in mine...up and down work, so the car in the video is faulty (press car...). Gas fills up fine too. I use a trick on cars when what he had happens happens based on issues I had with a prior 996 car: tipping the gas nozzle upside down works wonders if needed. Or pulling it out about 1". Also, added carplay to my 16. Car is now "modern"....wireless carplay too....better than factory. Car is amazing. Best sports car out there...better (more fun in the real world ...) than a 911...or M3/4. And better looking. Most of us live in the real world and not a track 99.999% of the time. This car is just a lot more satisfying than a 911 to drive....you'd have to go back to a 993 for the smell to be in the same league as the sound of the f-type.....pleasure is about a lot of senses getting stimulated at the same time and the problem with the newest cars, in particular EV's, is they speadsheet things. The real world is not a spreadsheet. It is a hamburger. It is a touch and a taste and a sound and smell. On that level Jaguar is way ahead of Porsche. And that is something they deserve credit for. Now, the new gt3....that is something altogether special too, but you cannot get those easilly and if you can, it is 5x what I paid for the F type and again, not much help on real roads....but a touring....the only Porsche better than an F type in my mind. And even then, not perhaps financially so.
Excellent Review. Love my F-Type S Coupe. I have a 2015 with Salsa Red paint, black 20" wheels, red calipers and Jaguar wheel hubs matching the paint color. Interior is black on red stitching. Love the car to death.
Angel Rodriguez why did you guys prefer the S AWD over the R AWD? I’m just curious , a lot of people say the S is inferior but I think it sounds incredible.
Even better...take the car Nick is driving, put VAP tuning and stuff to do E85...550hp/495ft lbs of torque in lower geared zf8 (tcu tuning too)....it is a 992gts killer...cheaper used by far ...best deal going. Amazing car. Better looking than anything else under 400k too. The seats go up and down...your version was foobar there.... Gas: happens on 996 and 993 too...flip the nozzle to be inverted and it goes just fine. In all of the noted cars needed to do this too. Nav: I put a 300 dollar carplay unit in (wireless)...done. Great dealer for my local area. Lots of attention even now in 2023...lots. Best stock exhaust EVER. Superb car. Great review.
This was a review that i was really looking forward to! I work for Jaguar UK and have always wondered why you didn't buy an F-type. Really Enjoyed this review. Keep up the amazing work!
Hey, Nick. Nick here as well and I just got me a Great White British Beauty (British Design Edition) a few months back. I see you're in the same state as I and everything you mention about the car is spot-on, especially, the somewhat of a blind bloody spot in the back when making a turn. Ah well, who cares?! I've had people deliberately pull up next to the car at red lights to actually take pictures as they've never seen a(n) F-Type before. Not your, average, run-of-the-mill Porsche or Ferrari you see in these parts of town! Cheers.
What a phenomenal car... I've yet to drive one, but all of the reviews on this thing have my expectations set extremely high and I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one. Great job, as always, Nick!
+Veyronp87 I just did a little research and the S type (specially the AWD version) quickly hits $90K+ However, they also lose value quite quick. Pick up a used one with 3000 miles on it for low to mid 70s. :D
Also...as an American who has travelled a bit? I apologize if I cannot quite place your accent. My first guess is Australian? But it could be New Zealand...again, I apologize for being unable to discern....but GREAT REVIEW, regardless!!! (EDIT)...I'm listening more to your accent, and without even going to Google? I'm guessing Australian??) BTW, I love the Kiwis too....
Haha love the outtakes! I'm not a Jag fan but do have a soft spot (or hard spot) for the F-Type, reliability still seems to big issue though & thats what put me off. Cheers & keep up the good work Nick
This is an amazing machine, inside & out. Definitely one of my favorites. Thinking back, it seems that Jaguar really started to improve their model range in 2004 or so. - A family member owned an 04 XJ8 which already featured the aluminum body/chassis and was very reliable for most of its life. It's steering was slick, it was nimble for a luxury sedan and it sure moved with that 294hp V8 & a 6-speed auto. 0-60 was somewhere around 6s and acceleration at triple digits was a breeze. Back then that was on par with other luxury sedans. The interior had top notch materials and the V8 sound it made was amazing. I miss driving it. I can't imagine how fun this F type must be.
That sunshine combined with the trees in the background make this footage of the F-type the most beautiful I've seen yet. Nice job Nick. Your next car will not be a porsche anymore now will it?
Hey Nick! Long time follower and this is my first post ever on You Tube! I see your comment that you'd still prefer a 911. Having a 981 Boxster myself, I understand that there's truly something special about the Porsche driving experience (perfect brake and steering feel, amazing corning, engine note, just everything overall being dialed in perfectly). I really enjoy your car reviews (they're VERY well done!) and I took interest on your comment about how comfortable the F-Type drives but maintains impressive cornering. While the Boxster is really never harsh, it's not exactly a smooth ride over rough pavement. What is the overall feeling driving the F-Type vs the Porsche experience? The F-Type is on my potential car list some day and I value your opinion (who doesn't appreciate a more comfortable ride now and then, but is it a trade off on certain things Porsche gets right?)!
+Paul and Rebecca K The Boxster/Cayman S is a faster car than the F type S, there is no doubt about that but the F type S makes some great sounds and somehow manages to be pretty comfortable over bad roads while maintaining great handling. Choosing between a Cayman S and a F Type would be very hard for me.
+Nick Murray Thanks for your response Nick! My last vehicle was a X3 35i which I did the Dinan tune to, it was a fun sleeper, very quick indeed. As far as engine sounds go, I think the BMW I6, Porsche flat 6 and the Jaguar Supercharged 6 are all hard to beat! I'm not sure if it's fair to pick a winner, it's more fun to enjoy them all! Heck, I even enjoy the 5 cyl growl in my 5 speed Passat and diesel clatter and turbo spool up in our Beetle convertible! :) I am a bit concerned however about the sound of the new 4 cyl Boxster/Caymans, not very impressive in online videos at least! - Paul
+Paul and Rebecca K I would purchase the Boxster S over the F Type V6. I even had a Boxster Spyder on order. But then I drove the Type R. Wow! Cancelled the Spyder order and I have a black vert in my garage now.
+UALHVY Cool, enjoy your Type R! Probably can't go wrong with either cars. For now, I'll enjoy the sound of the Porsche flat 6 while I can afford to! :)
Great. 0:24 past midnight, going to sleep cause I am working tomorrow and Nick uploaded a video. Going to watch it. I hate you!!! No, I love you of course (no homo)
Shout-out for showing me how to engage "launch control" in the F-Type! With the gas, I hold the handle inverted and it doesn't click off. I think it has to do with the chute angle to the tank.
This car is easy to set up get it start up put in dynamic mode push the lever cross so you can use the paddles & press the loud exhaust button then bounce the exhaust off whatever you drive by
Nick, I am surprised that you found the ride so pleasant since I have seen so many others saying it´s really harsh and I remember that Jeremy Clarkson hated it. Maybe Jaguar have listened and made it softer.
+kawaii potato Was he reviewing the S or the R? Here in south-east Asia, the roads are worse than in the UK, but the V6 F Type's ride isn't bad at all. Hell, even the TTS' and RCF's rides are rougher if I remember correctly.
Hey man, i really like your videos so keep up with this great job!I'm also a Porsche fan (and owner) as you are, so here my hot question: would you rather buy this car than a 911? Regards from Spain!Fabio
Would love if you would compare the F Type and contrast with the 911. It's nice to see fantastic car reviews being done here in New England, even by a Kiwi! ;)
Wow, amazing review and amazing car. One question I had was did you notice any supercharger "whine" while driving or hearing it from the outside? I didn't really hear anything in the video, which is impressive because that's quite a powerful supercharger to be so quiet.
***** I swear to god that's not true. I don't why there is all this hate. I just heard and saw one that I believe had the M performance exhaust last thursday. Oh my god it sounds so good! I don't know why people hate it. It's like a mix of v8 and fart can. The latter might seem like a negative, but it's really not. The crackle and all is just... wow!

Hey Nick. Maybe someone already asked you that question or you mentioned in another film, but what are you using as your handle equipment with the GoPro when you do interior walkthrough? Kind of a cool gadget for stabilized filming I assume? Thanks for any hint. Nice review by the way and a great ride.
Hi Nick, loved the video. How does the F type compare to your old 911 in terms of performance and drama? I guess the owner didn't want Tui coming for the ride??
Thanks for the video Nick, always seem to enjoy them. You may answer this is other videos but whats your thoughts on convertible vs coupe? I have been thinking of getting an F-Type but just for a summer car. I've never owned a convertible so figured that might be the way to go. That being said, the coupe looks awesome as well. I know it's probably just personal choice but any advice would be great. Have you ever had a convertible? Again, thanks for the great videos. Dave
little tip for the gimbal gopro-footage: try to set down the fps to 24 or 30, because any higher fps leads to nice shakes and distortions in the video ;)
The nicer Hondas and Acuras have a "Blind-Spot" camera under the passenger mirror that engages with the turn-signal and displays the image on the Navigation screen. This is a simple yet amazing;y helpful safety feature. I do not understand why most High-End cars don't offer this. It's like how we landed a man on the moon before we figured out to put wheels on suitcases.
@5:20..."should your mother be in the passenger seat..."...LOL!!! Right now I am looking at BOTH the SL500/550 (used) or the Jaguar F-Type. AND? Yes, I sometimes (well, weekly) must transport my own Mum here and there...but, your review is spot on!! It helps, and THANKS!!!!
OH...the Navigation System "might" have been a little "slow" updating? OK...you were testing this car FOUR years ago in the USA, in some Rural areas. OF COURSE the wireless would have been "spotty" then....AND there!!!
Yes I hate when that happens when trying to fill the gas up on some cars. It happens with my Cayman and I start worrying that people are looking at me like I’m some idiot that doesn’t know how to put gas in his car. But it’s not me it’s the car lol. It never happened once in my old Mazda Protege that I had for 14 years.
This car is astonishingly gorgeous and sounds amazing. The British racing green is timeless and that butterscotch leather is classic. This will absolutely be a collectors car that sells for over $1mm 50 years from now.
This will be my next car. The British Racing green on the F Type is so stylish.

Very true
You’re not the only one who thinks that. This is a comment from 2024 and I STILL think it looks new!

Do you still have this car
Angel Rodriguez why did you guys prefer the S AWD over the R AWD? I’m just curious , a lot of people say the S is inferior but I think it sounds incredible.
Nice review! That car is simply amazing, didn't know the V6 sounded so good as well :)

This car is stunningly beautiful.
This was a review that i was really looking forward to! I work for Jaguar UK and have always wondered why you didn't buy an F-type. Really Enjoyed this review. Keep up the amazing work!
Great, great review. My dream car. Buying one in 2023. Still enjoying my XFS.
British racing green manual F Type S might be the best buy car available today. Certainly a future classic.
Hey Nick, those seats are the bucket seats, the standard ( the ones I have) can actually go up and they are super comfortable!
@@ThisAccountIsNeverUsed mine too 😂
Those seat go up too. It’s just he didn’t quite take enough time to work it out.
Hey, Nick. Nick here as well and I just got me a Great White British Beauty (British Design Edition) a few months back. i saw the british racing green in person. It's a great color. Looks black from distance but then you see the details. Amazing
As usual Superb video and audio quality with a well informed review, keep it up Nick!
Really love the sound of the V6, also it would be interesting to see it with a manual. Good job Sir.
Excellent review Nick! Thank you for taking such good care of my "other" baby. It was a privilege to have you review it.
+David Krasne Thanks Dave, excellent car
What a phenomenal car... I've yet to drive one, but all of the reviews on this thing have my expectations set extremely high and I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one. Great job, as always, Nick!
Perfect car in every single way.
F type any day over the M4. Better looking better noise just better

rha600 True but this is the sort of car you buy brand new and custom for yourself.
Those rims should have been in black, just sets off BRG really well.
I can't get over how awesome this thing sounds

Nick, your editing is getting better and better each video! Very nice review. Cheers!
Excellent work Nick! Great camera work and editing.
As usually your reviews are just top quality. Good job Nick.
For those of you who want a better ride quality in the F-Type, you could add the KW V3 coilovers, they make a huge difference!
What a masterpiece. Love those drone shots & great review.
Nick, an F Type instead of a 911??? I THINK YES.
+MrCoolZach No, still much prefer the 911
+Nick Murray From a pure driving perspective, does the 911 still feel better than Boxster/Cayman? Cheers
Awesome review nick! The ftype is a masterpiece ❤️

Great. 0:24 past midnight, going to sleep cause I am working tomorrow and Nick uploaded a video. Going to watch it. I hate you!!!
No, I love you of course (no homo)
Sorry buddy!
+Václav Homolka quit this shit.
That sunroof looks awesome.
What about the AMG GT? It would be great to see a test drive.
Cheers!

+Fabio Billa Much prefer the 911. This really competes with the Cayman/Boxster however and that is a more difficult choice
As "the smoking tire" Matt Farah noted in one of his videos "the F-Type feels utterly sloppy compared to a 911"
Attilio Rizzo Jr. He’s also the same moron shilling wooden watches right?
My brother is 5'2" and he has no trouble with the seating position.
+Lee's Videos No noticeable supercharger whine
+Nick Murray which car sounds better ftype s or m4
+deepak ganesh In real life probably an F type S .
+Nik Brudar Yeah. Without any exhaust change on the M4 I would say the F type sounds better.
The crackle and all is just... wow!
Thanks for a great review. I've just ordered one!
I give Nick a thumbs-up as soon as the video starts.
What a gorgeous car, great review Nick, love to drive one. To be honest, I like the V-8 sound a bit more......Got to review the Typer R! Cheers!
+Pedro Vega Yes I think I need to do the R now.
Great review. Ending had me dying, especially the cheating joke lol
Nice review, wonder if that crackling exhaust would start to drive you mad at some point?
Nick, I'm like you. Current M4 owner. Silverstone silver. Love the M4, as a car lover, bored, looking at the Ftype S
Or even R. 991.2 is Awesome, but not change from the previous gen. End of the day, it's all fun!
YES nick YES!!! Have been waiting forever for this ; ) Hope you have moved in well!!
+Tyler McCraw Thanks Tyler. Getting there slowly
Great review! The V6 is the smart buying choice. How do you feel the car would improve or suffer from the V8?
Great review Nick!! Your shirt matches the exterior colour!!
I LOVE AWD, I HAVE 2011 XKR, NEVER HAD A PROBLEM, BUT THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM DOES SUCK, THE WORST.....OTHER THAN THAT, GREAT CAR 510HP 461 TOR.
Awesome! Great to see Jaguar stepping up their game
Shame you didn’t try sport mode. Dynamic is fun, but dynamic plus sport is mental.
Good review and I must admit it did take me 15 minutes to work out how to raise the seat with the electric adjustment. It is possible though.
nice 'tist ' from Oz. good camera work felt I was on board. Can't afford the f but ordered xe-s same colour and alloys :-)
+NickMurray
great review Nick sounds bloody amazing, the Bloopers at the end were funny those Gopros have a mind of their own sometimes lol
Hey Nick. Maybe someone already asked you that question or you mentioned in another film, but what are you using as your handle equipment with the GoPro when you do interior walkthrough? Kind of a cool gadget for stabilized filming I assume? Thanks for any hint. Nice review by the way and a great ride.

Again, thanks for the great videos.
Dave
Hey Nick, sounds like the planned 911 has some competition..
little tip for the gimbal gopro-footage: try to set down the fps to 24 or 30, because any higher fps leads to nice shakes and distortions in the video ;)
The car suits you Nick!
Nice one and I believe that you can get it in a manual, certainly in the UK.
Dream car.
The nicer Hondas and Acuras have a "Blind-Spot" camera under the passenger mirror that engages with the turn-signal and displays the image on the Navigation screen. It’s an additional option that can be added
Did you change any of your sound setup for this video? You sound so clear inside the car!
Something was wrong with the car you tested as far as the seats. I have the same model with the sport seats. My seats rise and go down.
Get an F-type instead of the M4 ;)
2016 and no backup camera?
Nick, nice review any thoughts about reviewing the BMW M2 when it comes out next year?
@5:20..."should your mother be in the passenger seat..."...LOL!!! Right now I am looking at BOTH the SL500/550 (used) or the Jaguar F-Type. AND? Yes, I sometimes (well, weekly) must transport my own Mum here and there...but, your review is spot on!! It helps, and THANKS!!!!
love this car
Did you find out if the seat rises up nick or are they all the same.cheers , I'm thinking getting an f type
Love this review! Great car!
Wow can belive F-type is more comfortable than M4. Are you thinking about getting this instead of 911?
I think this car's suspension is getting the same reviews as the new Jag XE - perhaps its the same/similar suspension and chassis setup?
I like Jagyuuuwaars very much!
This car really suits you, much more than the m4 or 911
Great video nick
More bloopers please!
Great review!! Great cam quality!!
OH...the Navigation System "might" have been a little "slow" updating? OK...you were testing this car FOUR years ago in the USA, in some Rural areas. OF COURSE the wireless would have been "spotty" then....AND there!!!
Nice car... very very nice color!
Did he just call colors flavors?
Considering the F-type over the 911 now or is this just a fling?
+Henry Richardson just a fling
wash your mouth out!
Great review! What does he work with? I would love to be able to own cars like these one day! So what line of work is he in? Entrepreneur?
+AlleMan I work in IT, there is a video about my job here
+Nick Murray Thank you for your answer! :D
where is the different from 2015
Great great great review, don know why but i luv this video sir. I really luv this car
Hate the forced pops and bangs. The Ftype is one of the worst offenders for it too.
The exhaust can be switched 'off' to remove this
So Nick, given the price difference, would you ever be tempted away from the 991.2 as your next car?
Video quality is great
Good job,nice car.Should I trade my E92 M3 for one of these?
Nick, what are your thoughts on the Lexus ISF?
Yes I hate when that happens when trying to fill the gas up on some cars. It happens with my Cayman and I start worrying that people are looking at me like I’m some idiot that doesn’t know how to put gas in his car. But it’s not me it’s the car lol. It never happened once in my old Mazda Protege that I had for 14 years.
It is a looker, but I'd say your M4 is even more of a head turner
