    The comparison with an aircraft interior is spot on.The only time I sat inside an E Type, that is the first thing that occurred to me.

    Thomas, what is your take on the basic Meridian Sound system with 380W (not the Meridian surround system)? Is it comparable to the Bose sound system in the TT?

    Great review. I'm considering buying an F type but that cabin looked really tight and it appeared you had to sit bolt upright. Seems claustrophobic?

  • @CAR_NL
    @CAR_NL 8 років тому +1

    it's not particularly fast, not very sharp steering, not the most refined, not the most cheap option. It is only quiet nice shaped and sounds really well. Doesn't makes me want to have one.
    The S version couldn't drive away against my 190hp Abarth 500 on the autobahn. Lot of sound, but no go at all. I would go for a SLK AMG. Good sound, better finish and more exclusive. Yes in this case I would buy a German over a English car. And that's a really exception!

    I have a 2017 V6 S convertible. It's an absolute blast! More than fast enough, with a 171mph top speed, and high 12 second 1/4 mile on good gas. The thing that sets it apart from higher end and faster cars is the F-Type's incredible responsiveness. It's always stupidly fun, unlike the often numb offerings of other makes.

  • @andrewherman8695
    @andrewherman8695 5 років тому +5

    Having owned a V6 convertible and now a V8 R I would actually say the most fun and exciting version of the car is the 2WD R version. The 4WD version you tested is great on snow but is heavier and less exciting to drive. If you drive the 4WD V6 I think you would find the same thing - 4WD is heavier and not as direct to drive.

      +Autogefühl Coupe is awesome. Just like the flowing lines and the reduced weight. Jaguar could enhance the V6 further with a larger supercharger and cold air intakes. I'm betting 375-400hp is possible.

  • @artemusje2

    The F-type is such a beautiful car! I loved it from the moment they introduced the first concept on a car show and hoped the production version would be close to the concept. And it was!
    I prefer the coupe, it's even more beautiful. In blue with a light interior. The V6 version would be fine. It sounds glorious and for me 340 hp is more than enough.
    And with an automatic, please! A manual is good fun for 10% of the time, but the rest of the time I prefer an automatic. And for that 10% I can use the paddle shifters. (Also, due to the fact that the manual has much higher CO2 emissions, it's actually 14 thousand (!) euro MORE expensive than the automatic here in the Netherlands..).
    So easy choices, actually. Too bad my bank account is somehow in disagreement! :-)

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  8 років тому

      Wow interesting with that co2 fact. Usually the auto gear boxes note higher consumptions?!

    • @artemusje2
      @artemusje2 8 років тому

  • @K3Primrose

    If i had the choice, i always go for the Coupé, the extra beauty and stiffness is worth it + basic V6 in Coupé form would be a dream!

  • @soundseeker63
    @soundseeker63 8 років тому +2

    I would personally always choose the manual, regardless of which engine and body. Auto takes away an element of connection with the car which is surely what we buy cars like this for in the first place. Both cars are very beautiful but I think the V6 is best value and quick enough for general road use.

    I think the statements about tall people in teh F Type are too positive still. I really wanted this car, but the test drives were frustrating. I am 1,92m (6.4) and there was nothing I could do to make me fit in this car comfortably. If I moved the seat cushion all the way back then the back rest moved forward - and vice versa. I drove the version with manual transmission so both knees hurt after 2 minutes because they always hit something. Steering wheel adjustment did not help either. This car is way too small for tall people. Does Jaguar think tall people should not drive sports cars?

    Poor build quality, 400 kilos to heavy, and 30k overpriced not to mention jaguars woeful approach to customer service. Official jaguar spec on gaps between panels is 1cm, that is laughable on a supposed quality car. The interior is a sea of plastic and cheap Chinese components. This is an awful overpriced overrated pile of junk.
    Porsche Cayman blows this out of the water.

  • @Ersy90

    momentmal, sprit sparen tut man doch nicht wenn der gang draußen ist und man rollt. Sondern wenn der Gang drin ist und rollt weil die Reifen von alleine angetrieben werden und beim neutralen wird die Kraft vom Motor umsonst geliefert und kriegt kein Input von den Reifen. Richtig?

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  3 роки тому +1

      Allerdings haben moderne Fahrzeuge eine Schubabschaltung, bei Der dann weniger Kraftstoff verbraucht wird als im Leerlauf im neutralen Gang. Allerdings rollt das Auto in der Tat im neutralen Gang weiter. Also kommt es in diesem Vergleich darauf an, ob man gerade soweit rollen möchte wie möglich oder demnächst zum halten kommt. Dann kommt es noch auf an ob es ein Auto ist was einen Segelmodus hat zum Beispiel.

    Just bought the F-type R coupe, really weren't kidding about the rough suspension... Not a deal breaker for my use, but if you go on longer journeys on rough roads, get a softer model. I personally still prefer the R even despite the hard suspension though, that v8 is a killer.

      +Autogefühl . Those wheels are definitely not available in the UK. They don't even look like a Jag OEM wheel. I'm 100% sure they are 'after-market'. So, I'm very surprised that Jag would allow a car on an 'official event' to have non-OEM wheels. Unless, of course, it's not an official event by the factory.....but by the local Swiss concessionaire...? Any thoughts ?

    Love to see you do a review of the Evora 400, you might be personally interested that I think you can get it with a full alcantera interior.

      Phos9 . Not exactly true! I drove the Evora recently and the new F-Type 2.0. The Jag is just much more comfortable. Also very nimble.
      It has more storage and is very elegant looking. The Evora ist a great looking car. More like a Supercar than a Gt. Extremely nimble, yet a little uncomfortable for my taste. Almost a little stressful.Great acceleration, due to it’s little weight. Interior of the car was fine, but prefer the Jag inside. The Evora is fun and for sure reliable with the Camry V6. But I wouldn’t enjoy to drive it for longer distances.
