@50 person account experiment Realistically speaking when you attack a ground target from an airplane you have the limited field of view of a cockpit, meaning aim is not easy mode.
While enjoyable, this has a fatal flaw, namely that War Thunder is still a game at heart, which means that even the best SPAAG in game is still aimed manually by the player, whereas in reality, for example the Gepard would simply lock on all of those planes by Radar and then have the computer rapidly auto-fire most of those planes out of the air without even blinking.
i feel like unless there was some rule against it, nothing stopped that from happening, except that all the planes dove low as soon as they spawned specifically to avoid being seen until they were within their own weapons range. their radars are all modeled in game i just dont think they got a real chance to use them.
Most of those planes wouldn´t make it into gun range in that last round as a wall of coordinated missle strikes would blow the "swarm" to pieces. The rest then would be mopped up by computer guided guns and they wouldn´t even break a sweat.
@@auqanova The SPAAs don´t have either auto tracking, auto targeting or auto fire enabled in warthunder to make them more "balanced" in regards to their battle tiers. These vehicles basically drive around with both arms behind their back and one eye stabbed out as well.
14:43 That's me LOL! Definitely one of my proudest WT moments, managing to take down a Modern SPAA with a JU-87. When he shot me down, all I could think of was "I'm not done with you! If I'm going down, so are you!" Was hard to steer the plane when crashing, but it all payed off :) It was a great event!!

Its funny to see how the tunguska just looks like the most epic war scene being under fire from every angle possible, firing at everything, shooting missiles and covering the sky in lead. Meanwhile the begleit: Ohno, my engine is red, i hurthurt.
Between the cinematography and the visuals, and music, this was emotional and amazing. It felt like the prop planes had soul behind their attack, doing anything to drop their payload on target as their wingless planes hit the earth in a fire explosion. Well done.
Jea had like something heroic, like a small unmodern country defending against more powerfull attacker or so and the pilots give all they can in their old machines to stop the enemy advance and gain time for the own people on the ground
So The LAV AD is no longer in service. It was disbanded in the early 2000's it was too expensive to operate and i personally think they should have kept them
Goes to show how powerful CAS is. In many ground forces games the SPAA are outnumbered by 2 to 1 or 3 to 1. Here even modern SPAA couldn't stop WW2 CAS with those odds.
Finally, someone that understands AAs can’t counter CAS easily. If the pilot is really skilled, the only way to take him down is by another plane. AAs only work against mediocre pilots

That last round was majestic AF imagine if something like this happened IRL modern SPAA swatting them out of the skies and pilots flying feet off the ground to attack while the SPAA is busy on another plane… or the last ditch kamikaze out of sheer desperation
The final Yak-9 losing half a wing only to spite the last AA in a final epic attempt is so par for the course of that plane. Nothing but epicness in the Yak-9's. The b and k are arguably the most fun.
The thing most people don’t realize about aiming bombs and rockets is that it’s way easier to aim them in the third POV option The actual direction the plane is moving in is displayed by the prograde marker which looks like an O with handles on the side and top, you can use this to accurately aim any ordinance that doesn’t launch from a rail
Planes are so OP that biplanes take down modern AAs no problemo. In fact, 10 antiquated biplanes crippled a modern WW2 battleship, and the battleship did not manage to take down a single antiquated biplane. Either planes are OP AF, or every AA gunner in the world is a cross eyed relative of Major Asshole, from Spaceballs
I would love to see a similar video except giant world war II bomber formations against modern spaa like the defense of Germany or Japan or something like that could they stop the huge waves of bombers before they bombed them or the bases to Oblivion I think that you could do a neat video based off of that idea right there by the way your video quality is improving I am quite impressed with your editing

I could imagine the panicked radio callouts and excited shouts of the SPAA gunners trying to shoot planes out of the sky and the determined grimace of the pilots as friends and brothers are getting shot down around them as they try and drop their payload at treetop level to take out the AA guns. Some in last ditch attempts holding shaking, battered, crippled aircraft in the air to make one last heroic sacrifice.
This is a good video, it’s just that, a missile that goes way over a biplanes speed, and a biplane being more maneuverable than my dad dodging child support, that’s a big of for the SPAA, probably should’ve relied more on the main gun than the rockets.
They say that even now in the 2020s, the North Korean air force still has 300 or so biplanes. You never know, pre-WW2 biplanes versus 21st Century anti-air could happen for real someday.
Planes not only wrecking SPAA, but also catching their own team in crossfires and bomb drops makes this feel like a truly authentic WT experience. Or, close to it anyway. Repair costs and all that.
This just showed the potential of drones, just need good video game pilots or AI trained by video game pilots, even WW2 planes can wreck havoc, they can wipe out the air defense of a whole division, that could be a game changer in a real war.

I am glad to see my suggestions implemented. This was great to see. If the Tor was implemented by the time this video was made, it could have shot out a fair few planes at very extreme ranges but would have been useless as soon as the aircraft close in. I have a few more suggestions. T-72B3 vs T-34/85. During their respective times of Service, the T-72 and T-34 were the mainstays of the USSR and later Russian armored forces. While there are more advanced and/or capable tanks in Service with the USSR during that time like the IS tanks, T-44, T-80 and T-90, these tanks are the backbone of Russia’s armor. Both tanks are upgraded variants of the Orginal. Given this, I would like to see how these tanks perform against each other. T-34 is a relatively small and fast tank compared to it’s contemporaries like the Sherman, Panzer IV, or Panther, so I think it will have a better chance compared to other Modern vs WW2 battles. Battle of the Fast Bois; BT-5 vs M22. Both of these low tier tanks are low tier favorites thanks to their speed. Thanks to the cramped 3 man crew of the BT and the healthy amount of filler in the BR-240 shell, both of the tanks are easily capable of one shorting the other through the front. I think the BT will have the advantage here since the M22 is a bit wobbly from what I have heard. Su-25 vs A-10. I think this one could use both a typical direct battle but also could use a comparison competition against ground targets. Load up an air RB map and see which aircraft is able to kill the most ground targets within a given time.

I think the A-10 has an advantage for a rookie pilot, while an experienced one does better with the su-25. However, I got dunked on by one absolute madlad in an A-10 one time after a long dogfight in my frogfoot, best flying I've seen in awhile.
This had the same vibes of the last Samurai, The prop planes flying into their last battle knowing they will most likely not survive against the progress of technology. the editing. especially of the last battle was top notch. The way that Big bomber came down was legit sad.

Choice of SPAA was questionable as well, everyone should have been in Sgt yorks, veaks, otomatic etc basically any proxy fuse system. Also add the Tunguska for the missiles and it’s fire mass makes up for it. Stuff like the gepard and LAV are just not the most effective choices at all. Strange they were chosen
I would watch this in Cinema. And i do not know which side would be the good ones in this epic battle. The Gepard with one last mag and then left with smoke trying to hide was a heartbreaking hero moment.
Only problem with this is as epic as it is modern AA guns are aimed automatically, those aircraft just couldn’t get close enough to do any serious damage to modern armored vehicles.

A real test would be to see how many pilots don't need to kamikaze while they kill an enemy SPAA. The last battle, there was 4 to 5 who wouldn't have gotten the kill had they not crashed their plane in doing so. If it was a Japanese plane, I get it....otherwise, no other nation would have done that.
Things started hitting differently at 15:20. The music just heightened the feeling of desperation even more. I could almost hear the "Fuck Youuuu!!!" as the AA gunners fired up at the planes and the pilots dove head first guns blazing at the AA. When that bomber hit the city though... chefs kiss cinematics as plane's fell from the sky.
I feel like if the SPAAs just formed a circle with turrets facing inward and just focused on the section of the circle across from them, they could have had it in the bag. There would always be someone watching your 6, 3, 9, ect.. its just painful how split up they were
im surprised the missles could even hit them not in the there moving to fast to be hit but in the im surprised it didnt just blow through the side skins lol
as German and Soviet Pilot or Air Battle enjoyer in War Thunder. Using WW1 and WW2 era airplane it is really hard to actually manouver,dont just think lossing 1 of your wing,even loosing your flaps can be a game changer,for example the BF-109 if you lost 1 of your flaps you can almost guarantee to be lost on a dog fight.And another example 14:43 first of all this guy lost 1 of his wing wich mean he only have 1 flaps but he still manage to drop that bomb next to the SPAA,that was some hard things to do because you only have full control of your right wing and to balance it he have to turn his plane to the right to make that bomb drop very very well done.........

Exactly! And what's more, commences engaging at a range out to ~5km. All those planes are dead before even getting into guns range.

That was me! It did well, I had a few kills that weren’t shown that were long range snipes. STRF has no tracers, so it worked surprisingly well

I don’t think any of the biplanes in warthunder are from WWI. Interwar, yes. Early WWII, yes. But not WWI.
There wasn't any then 4 months back but soon the Fairey IIIF Mk.IIIB will be added to one of the WWI ships and that was a design from 1917.

Things started hitting differently at 15:20. The music just heightened the feeling of desperation even more. I could almost hear the "Fuck Youuuu!!!" as the AA gunners fired up at the planes and the pilots dove head first guns blazing at the AA. When that bomber hit the city though... chefs kiss cinematics as plane's fell from the sky.
That Sargent York was throwing 40mm like it wanted more smoke.
I feel like if the SPAAs just formed a circle with turrets facing inward and just focused on the section of the circle across from them, they could have had it in the bag. There would always be someone watching your 6, 3, 9, ect..

um hate to burst your bubble, but most WW1 planes have almost no radar signature. You know wood fabric, doesn't reflect radar
as German and Soviet Pilot or Air Battle enjoyer in War Thunder.
Using WW1 and WW2 era airplane it is really hard to actually manouver,dont just think lossing 1 of your wing,even loosing your flaps can be a game changer,for example the BF-109 if you lost 1 of your flaps you can almost guarantee to be lost on a dog fight.And another example 14:43 first of all this guy lost 1 of his wing wich mean he only have 1 flaps but he still manage to drop that bomb next to the SPAA,that was some hard things to do because you only have full control of your right wing and to balance it he have to turn his plane to the right to make that bomb drop very very well done.........
the anti air should have stayed together to support each other with interlocking fields of fire.
