- I've had my new 2021 Polygon Siskiu T8 (27.5") for a bit now so I thought I'd share my thoughts on it and show you what changes I've made.
Hope this helps you understand the bike a bit better!

ADDITIONAL INFO:
I'm 5'7" (170 cm) and 147 lbs (67 kg) and I got the Medium frame with 27.5" wheels. It's a perfect fit for a person my size and I feel like the 29" would be too much.
At 3:15 I mentioned the water bottle carrying capacity and said 10 ounce when I meant to say 16oz - the point is that a tall 22 oz water bottle is a bit big in that space. Here's a 16.9oz water bottle that fits well: www.amazon.com...
At 5:30 I said I saw the bike in ads on Amazon - I meant Google. Pretty much anytime I searched for another bike I was seeing ads for the Polygons being offered right at the top of the page. :-)
Last thing - the brake cables are routed (internally) for the European market (rear brake on the left side) so the rear brake cable is routed into the wrong side of the frame for a U.S. setup (we run the rear brake lever on the right side and usually route the cable down the left side of the frame). It's just a minor annoyance (that the rear brake cable is routed down the right side), but only in how it looks, as it does not affect the way the bike works at all.
I bought the T7 and I agree with the chain, it came with a KMC Chain. I broke my rear derailleur after 9 miles on the bike. I swapped the chain since it did damage to a shimano chain and has worked perfect ever since.
Bro what size your frame is?
Not many reviews on the T8, so thanks for the video. Mine is arriving anytime now.
I’ve had mine for a few weeks now it’s a great bike
You will love it. Super solid platform, it feels SO good landing off a drop. That SLX drivetrain is sweet, I can climb better on this bike even with the beefy tires. It's a GOAT.
@@livingon2wheels that’s great. Yes I can’t wait to try the SLXs. What’s the diameter size of your grips?
@@MrLabYoshi These are the ODI grips I have here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C5CRKQC/
Former t8 owner, you should really checkup the rear sus frequently.... Cause i used to go for many trail rides here in Arunachal pradesh and serviced it in 4months period prior. But it still buldged out and got broke... Its better to save money on that rear sus though🙏 costs too much
Looks good. Can't decide between the T8 or the bigger N9. Probably this as the 160mm travels way more than I'd use.
The online store here in the UK also only seems UK carry the Medium with 27.5 wheels where as my current Stumpjumper is a 29er.
I have the n9 it's 40lbs and not a great climber, so I swapped to an oval
ohhh my dream bike, love it too.. still can't afford it yet. maybe this year if I have some savings
Having the same chain issues. I'm gonna drop for that slx chain. Thx!
Have a T7 and my chain is giving me issues too. I tune it up and it still makes a lot of noise, and it has a KMC basic 12 speed chain, going to buy a Shimano one and see if It fixes
Oh the paint is soooo amazing
It changes colors depending upon the light. Sometimes more blue, other times more purple. And the decals change colors based upon the angle you see them. It's truly a beautiful bike! (and I love purple :-)
Im 5’5. Would a small fit better? Btw, I’m impressed with how clean you keep your drive train.
Great video, will be buying one of these very soon!
I'm 5'7" like you but a few pounds heavier. Would you still think a 27.5 would work better? And, curious, what part of Texas?
Hey Mitch sorry for the late reply - I'm in the D/FW area.
Kinda weird bout issue on the chain. In my area...people love kmc chain.
What kind of rear hub does it come with? Just wondering if it's a 3 paw or 6 paw
Rear hub is Shimano FH-MT410-B
I'm pretty sure all droppers are like that i bought a pnw one and it did the same
Thing.
ya that sound like bottom bracket bearing worn out really disturbing, i will try to change the chain
Thanks for the chain recommendation!
Thanks for this overview! Not to be a keyboard warrior but it seems like your chain might be a bit long? Happy to hear the SLX is better though.
Yeah I made the new chain the exact length of the original chain but I wondered about the length. It shifts and rides great - no issues - but you might be right about it being a bit long.
It is a 27.5 or 29?
27.5
👍👍
nice bike man
35 width bars ? I thought the stock stem was 31.8 ?
Yes, the stock (Entity) stem on the T8 is 35mm. Super nice as I didn't have to buy a new stem. :-)
Nice one bro 👍👍👍
how much do you weigh mate?
147 lbs / 67 kg... I'm 5'7" and got the Medium frame in 27.5.
@@livingon2wheels thanks
Hey bro! How tall are you? Is that the 29er version?
I'm 5'7" (170 cm) and 147 lbs (67 kg) and I got the Medium frame with 27.5" wheels. It's a perfect fit for a person my size and I feel like the 29" would be too much.
Thank you for the info. Im also a 5 '7 and cannot decide which size to go for.
@@danviraserit3643 newer bikes are getting bigger in general, I’m 5 10 and still got a M 27.5, my hard tail is 29 L and I prefer riding the M 27.5 more nimble and the whole “29 romps over shit better” I feel is bs I’ve still romped through rough shit
Hmm I'm torn. 5'7 and currently riding a medium 2015 Stumpjumper 29er. Not sure I'd want to go down to a 27.5 🤔 Might have to though as uk supplier doesn't carry 29ers til the large frame.
At 5'10.5 I think i'll get a M 29 with possible 27.5 rear mullet at some point
