Ridstar Q20 - How to get rid of that RATTLE (it's the controller under the seat...)
If you just got a Ridstar Q20, you have probably noticed a persistent rattle under the seat, especially on rougher terrain. The problem is that they have the controller just sitting there in a plastic box under the seat. It's not stabilized. In this video, we use a piece of the packing material to solve the Ridstar Rattle problem.
Now that the bike is silent, it feels rock solid!

We got an eBike - Ridstar Q20
Переглядів 5782 місяці тому
We got a new Ridstar Q20 ordered directly from their site. It is a Beast of a bike and it's working really well so far (50 miles on it). We put a DNM spring shock on it and backed off all the preload and it's a nice ride now. The forks are not great but they don't suck as much as that stock shock. Overall SO FAR it's just performing like an absolute MACHINE. Let's see if it's durable over time....

We rode Amtrak's Heartland Flyer from Fort Worth, TX to Oklahoma City, OK to see what was going on in the city on St. Patrick's Day 2023. We were absolutely delighted by this city! It's clean, safe, and fun. We look forward to going back with family and friends. We visited the memorial site of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. We think this is a place all Americans should see for themselve...

We ride TEXRail into Grapevine, Texas, have lunch at Harvest Hall, and ride the Grapevine Vintage Railroad with the grandson. This is a great experience for families with small children. Spend the extra bucks for the Touring Class so you get the huge windows. This trip is 100% kid approved by my grandson. Also in this video: Hotel Vin in Grapevine, Texas

Our kids loved KidZania USA in Frisco, Texas (Dallas)

I went to KidZania USA in Dallas with my kids and grandkids. The little ones got to make pizza, work in a hospital, be a veterinarian, serve on the police force, and whole lot more. It's an indoor city where kids learn and do jobs to earn money that they can use to buy candy and other little things at the store. They loved it - I think this is an experience they will always remember.

Not sure technically but it has 5 speeds - 4th being the "legal" 27.5 mph and the 5th going on up to 33 mph. This one has 48V20A so it's technically you got 960W. SO FAR, it's working well and super fun. My mountain bike is jealous because I'm spending more time with this thing.

I heard that one of these companies have the rights or patents to one of Hondas 125s from like 20 or 30 years ago... Hondas engines were still bulletproof back in that time. There are some chassis mods they need for sure. Frame mounts especially. There are only 2 and the bolts are smaller than the diameter of the wholes on the engine. I think people drill them out and install m36s or something like that. Im getting ready to do some work on mine.

Yammie Noob savaged this bike! You didn't have many miles on it. I don't think I want one! I'm soured on e-bikes, had 2 lemons in the last 2 yrs. Going scooter or minimoto. I did have a good Motorino e-scooter. My Daymak Vermont lasted 2 mos. My NCM T 1,000 lasted 8 mos. Going gas.

Dude that sucks. I didn't even ride mine until I replaced all the shady parts on it. You need to replace the chain, sprocket, carb, mounting bolts, add third mounting point in the bottom, oil, fuel filter, EGR delete and exhaust. I didn't even ride mine until all that was done.

It is pretty well documented (on UA-cam, Reddit, and other places) that this bike has a few things it needs initially, the chain being one of the biggest. I have not figured out which stretches quicker, Baodiao (the maker of the bike) chains or taffy. A couple hundred dollars later and the bike is decently reliable for what it costs. It's a far better cost ratio than what I am pouring into my Honda Navi just to get it to 50 mph reliably.

What would it cost for the manufacturer to put normal size wheels on it? The small tires make it look like a toy or a child's bike. I'm sure the 125 Honda clone is a great little motor, but I wouldn't buy it for the cosmetic or visual asthetics reason alone.

That definitely looks like the result of a chain stretching out, a 428 gold chain from cycle gear or similar places is the way to go as amazon sells a lot of fake parts. These motors can be replaced for around 200-300$ if the 190-212 option is too steep or just not interested. That bike is still a canvas to work with regardless of the unfortunate blemishes. You may have sold this bike out by now so this is more for anyone who has this same issue.

I have a DS3 that I bought in the year 2000 from Poison Spider Bicycles in Ottawa. I was 18 when I bought it, now I'm 40!!! OH God lol. At the time my Mom was like "Why are you spending 1000 dollars on a bicycle? (which I earned at McDonald's), You're never gonna ride that thing!". And every time she visits me I point it out to her and say "See Mom? See? I still have it! And it is why I am in such good shape and I am able to keep up with my toddler and be a great father. It gave me my health!!". I would have paid 10 000 dollars for it. DS3 FOR LIFE.

I did the same thing a few years back, I still love my Warp! I've got the same fork, its been great; but, be sure to wipe down the stanchons whenever they get wet. Mine started rusting/putting almost immediately. How's that rear air shock? I almost put the same one on; but, the stock one has held up very well.

It's Cast iron block so no shit it's not going to take a chain impact with torque being applied. The chain breaking is your own due diligence issue. You are just about the only person I've seen complain about them being about overall. Have some accountability, these things are dirty cheap so to complain like you didn't know you would have to look over me things and research what usually should be replaced is just ignorance. This is why we can't have nice things. I'm 700 miles in and I love mine, about to try and put air ride on the rear 😤🤙
