If you had to choose between taking the Sisku T8 or N9 out to the bike park which would you take? I understand they are different travel bikes but what all mountain or do it all bike do you see yourself using more? I am stuck between the two and have no idea what to pick. I am leaning towards the N9 just for the extra travel and like you mentioned its still plenty fun and not just plowing through everything. But the T8 is 1. Beautiful and 2. seems like it would be able to handle a lot with that 140mm travel on the 29er.
I watched your videos among other UA-camrs on the T8 and you sold me on the T8 had my mind set and then I saw someone selling an older 2021 N7 on Facebook market place local in my area. A T8 new is about $2800 shipped and the N7 is $2300 (could probably get it for $2000). With the price difference which would you go with having been on both of these bikes?
I’ve never been the type of guy who try’s to take away weight from a bike. Matter of fact, I ride bikes for fun but also a workout. I will never pay more to deduct 5 pounds 😂 this bike is sick!! Gonna look into it for sure.
Great review! This was a little out of my price range when I was looking at full-squish, so I ended up with Giant Stance 2 - but it's becoming apparent I could do better (even after some upgrades to the Stance). This is a tempting option over sinking more money into the Stance - as my next two upgrades would be rear shock with lockout and better calipers, both of which the T8 has ;) Looks like some great trails near you, too. Is that CO?
So, I'm 64.5" short with a 29" inseam and 21.5"(67" wingspan) arm length which puts me pretty firmly in the small frame category which comes with 27.5's... Do you think I will regret not going medium for the 29's?
Hard call, 29er 'roll over' capability is great. 27.5 is still good (and fun) though if your sizing is super crucial. You will get used to whatever you chose.. I see some great riders on my local trails on 27.5 bikes .. Cheers
I was looking to transition to a full suspension mtb from my hardtail carbon fiber stump jumper and the Siskiu T8 looks legittttt. I want to amp up my downhill riding, however, my only hold up is I don't want to sacrifice too much of my strength of climbing. Do you think the weight difference will be a big shocker? Thanks!!
I do not think it will be, I have ridden some heavy full squish then gone right back to my hardtail which is lighter, I climb pretty much the same with suspension locked out so I think it should work.
Having full lockouts like this bike does will help the transition to full suspension, but nothing is going to climb exactly like a hardtail. I wouldn't be worried about it though, this is a pretty great climbing bike, definitely doesn't 'feel' heavy on the ups like some of the larger travel bikes out there!
Hey man thanks for the awesome videos. It would be great to see a T8 vs N9. Haven't been riding for 16 years. I believe I'll be doing more all mountain riding because of where I'm living. So want something that is easy enough to push around everywhere but like the speck of the N9 over the T8. Can afford the N9 but not necessarily the T8 with the upgrades. Wish they made a T8 Is There a massive difference in climbability between the two? Thank you for your time. Have an awesome day.
I'm looking at upgrading my old cannonade prophet 1000 (2006 model ) and are wondering how the polygon T8 would stack up? I appreciate that they are not spaced the same but there is also 15 years difference and a hole lot of technological advancements.
A friend of mine bought one about 4 months ago in size small. He said that he hasn't been very happy with the purchase and is already looking to sell it. His complaint was the weight when climbing and he said the suspension feels pretty harsh compared to his old full suspension bike. For comparison, he's less than 5' tall (dwarfism) and maybe weighs 145lbs. My guess is this bike is more suited to Enduro or bike park versus everyday trail rides
there is a price difference between siskiu t7 and t8 about 500 usd , does it worth the extra 500 usd as i like t7 color a little bit more ( and that price entry point ) and probably upgrade afterwards , what are your thoughts about this ? Thx!
I definitely think the 500 is well worth the bump up to the T8. One, the parts will make for a much better ride out of the box, and two, if you upgrade parts, you'll get a lot more back when you sell the T8 stuff than you would the parts on the T7. Depends on how much you like the T7 paint job over the T8s lol
I just went with the T7. I also have young kids and dont live in the mountains so I dont have alot of time to ride and dont ride hard. The T7 will be plenty fine for me and its a great bargain at $1,800.
If you plan on riding it in steep & fast trails, I think the T8 is easily better value. The fork alone is more than $500, bought used + tools to install or if you were to pay a LBS for the swap. Deore drivetrain is fine and the T7 is one of the best FS bikes for the $ already. I would prefer the T8 coming with better brakes vs. SLX drivetrain only, but most buyers focus on the latter.
Great review! I have one as well and I noticed we have the same bottle cage but i can’t find one that will fit with it in between the suspension what bottle do you have?
IM about to order this exact bike tonight. Stuck Between sizes tho at 6'2" in riding gear. With 34inches of RAD Reach Im smack in the middle of the L/XL.
Kinda depends if you like a smaller or bigger bike, if you want to do more jumping and a more quick bike, if you want to do more xc style riding then go with the xl
@@BMOutdoorz honesty not sure Iv never had a bike that was sized correctly for me. I love flow and jumps. Not a very techy person. I just got back into mtb ing and the bike I picked up is clearly undersized for me and cheap to boot (Schwann al comp)

Beacon Hill, no shit lol I built a lot of those trains with Peter back in the day. You're right, the T8 you ride *in* not on. It feels like a scooter compared to Commencal and the like.
Great review! While not a Polygon T8, I just picked up a short travel 130mm full squish to go along with my longer travel bike. Only 3 rides in so far on it, but I think I forgot how much fun having a poppy bike can be.
When replacing the fork, what offset did you get? I can't find the specs on Polygon's website and their customer service didn't need seem to know either!
Just bought this bike, can’t for it to get here! What Volume Spacers do I need for the front and rear? I’m 5’11/295lbs so hoping I can just ride it outta the box and learn more about MTBing without major upgrades!
@@TheShredist I hear ya. Totally subjective. Dan Wolfe says put a 150mm fork on the front end and you have a crazy capable mini enduro rig. So I did lol. Idk...I'm not good enough to say it's any better/worse in terms of capability but no question The 150 RS Lyrik I swapped is a noticeably better fork. Great review! The T8 is a ridiculously sick bike especially at that price point. Polygon hit a grand slam for sure ;)
I already have an enduro bike so I kept it more oriented towards trail riding, so if this is your only ride, I can totally see making it 150 to get more out of it! Either way, stellar bike 🤘
@@TheShredist Great call and that is precisely why I did it...wanted a single bike that could pretty much rip up everything from flowy XC'ish single track to all but the gnarliest of gnarly techy stuff. I don't want to upgrade bikes for a while. It's no lightweight but you can still pedal it and it tracks the ground like a monster truck. Absolutely loving it!
My main concern with getting a trail bike is climbing I ride with Nica on some gnarly trails so my hardtail doesn’t quite cut it but I’m not sure if I should get a xc full suspension or a trail bike because all my trails have small jumps and drops and are littered with rocks and roots hoping for some insight here thanks 😉
Been looking for weeks to find a T8 in a Large! What is the deal with such a shortage of bikes? I've even been looking for a nice used one. I'm currently deployed overseas and really want one for when I get home but just can't fid one anywhere.
They've exceeded my expectations honestly. They will start to heat up a bit on long decents, but they have plenty of power and modulation. Overall solid 4 piston brake 👍
Can we get a comment on the dpx2 at 1:51? You said you will probably upgrade it in the future, so... next video will involve time travel? Is that the best way to install, with the piggy towards the back facing up?
Great review! I'm a large rider at 6'8"/300# and just getting back into riding. I've been drawn to the T8 for the upgrade in components and shocks over the T7. If I'm going to need to upgrade the suspension anyway, do you think it a better move to go with the T7 and use the savings for upgrading suspension and components. OR... do you think that since it's doubtful that I'll be shredding the trails as hard that the T8 is a better option over the T7 and stick with the Fox suspension with some added tokens? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
If you're not going to be going mach 5 and hitting tons of jump lines, I think the fox setup with added spacers would be sufficient. If you're going to be more aggressive of a rider, I think upgrading the suspension would be a good idea, as the fork could use a little help for bigger riders. I got my 34 setup pretty nice before I upgraded mine!
Hello. I have a decision to make, perhaps you could assist: I need to choose one of these 2 options as my next MTB: Option 1: used canyon lux (2016 model carbon fiber, sram xx1, 11x1) condition "ok". Option 2: New Polygon T7. Both options are at the same price. The reason that I'm considering the polygon is that I am worried that the 6 year old xx1 might get too old, and to fix it would cost a fortune. Can anyone please give me some tips what should I do? I ride mostly XC. I will appreciate your input very much!
Hey, this really helped me out a lot even though I'm on a 2018 YT Jeffsy (140/140mm). Cause it has the Fox 34 and DPS (both in performance elite). Just like you I'm 6.0' and I weigh in at 200 lbs. Just recently started doing some more rough and steeper trails and DH and now I can feel the flex in the fork people are taking about. Will have to start saving some lunch money! Also get a pretty harsh feedback from the shock on flatter landings. The lift accessed descents I have close by are only about 2 minutes. QUESTION: Do you think such a short trail is enough for the DPS Performance Elite shock toheart up and loose performance? Or are the gains in swapping shock more about LSC/HSC & LSRb/HSRb?
I dont think the dps just has the capacity to handle fast chop like upgraded shocks can. It packs up quick and can't get the tire to track quick enough, making it bounce off everything and that is just a character of the shock. Adjusting compression can help, but really to get a massive difference in feel you'll eventually need to bite the bullet and upgrade the piece.
@@TheShredist Thx a ton for replying to my questions yet again, you sure are giving me both great content and sound advice. Proud and happy to be a patreon 🤙 In my experience you usually forget biting that bullet pretty fast when the grin on your face wipes away the pain 😏
Would you mind providing the link to the volume spacers for the fork? also If I were to put a spacer in the fork, would have to do the same to the shock?
@@TheShredist Thank you. I waiting for the T7 frame set to be updated in line with the full builds. Polygon service (great!) told me to check regularly.
I’m 6’2” and my xl t8 feels on the smaller side. I kinda like this on the descent because it feels more playful, but it feels a little cramped on longer climbs. Overall an awesome bike though!
Great review. I have my T8 coming next month, at 65.5 deg head angle do you recommend 160mm travel fork? Looking to upgrade the stock Fox 34 fork to stiffer (35 or 36 diameter) and higher travel.
Definitely try it first at 140mm, but I probably wouldn't go past 150mm up front, 160mm would make it feel really off balanced with only 135mm out back.
I’m looking at picking this bike up, but I’m a little iffy on the sizing. I’m 6’2” and about 200lbs. I’m not sure if I could actually go with a L, or I’m basically stuck with an XL.
Just bought a new bike with a diamond d2 on it. Do you like the dvo more than fox or Rockshox. My other big question is do you miss not being able to use volume reducing tokens.
@@TheShredist So on the d2 the ott is internally adjustable using spacers correct? Do you know how many ott spacers you are running? I believe the max is 3
Looking to replace my 2015 Stumpjumper & really cannot justify £4k+ on a bike. Canr decide on this T8 or the bigger N9. I'm mostly riding XC with the odd enduro trail and day rides in the Cairngorm mountains. Im not a happy jumper, too old to start flinging myself down the huge stuff now. So what you reckon? T8 or N9 ?
I have this bike on order and have been hearing some mixed opinions about it, mostly good for the most part, but I keep hearing bad things about the front suspension like how it bobs too much or bottoms out too much or whatever. I am just getting a little anxious that this bike won't live up to the hype I wanted it to when I first ordered it. I am mostly a techy rider but I will be hitting some bike parks like Thunder Mountian in MA and Highland Bike Park in NH and am not usually a hardcore rider. will this bike be ok for me?
I think so ya. In stock form the fork does act a bit like you described, but is greatly improved with the addition of the volume tokens at 3 bucks a piece. Invest in some of those and the fork will handle a lot more than it would in stock form. 👍

Thank you, great review!
Wish they have some in stock. Been out of stock for a while now
More more people enter MTB world with this affordable bike.. I see in Bali many bikers there using Polygon bike in Bike trail park
Awesome review! Would it be possible to share a link where I can purchase those tires?
If you had to pick between the T8 and the N9 which one would you go with and why?
I’ve never been the type of guy who try’s to take away weight from a bike. Matter of fact, I ride bikes for fun but also a workout. I will never pay more to deduct 5 pounds 😂 this bike is sick!! Gonna look into it for sure.
Great review! This was a little out of my price range when I was looking at full-squish, so I ended up with Giant Stance 2 - but it's becoming apparent I could do better (even after some upgrades to the Stance). This is a tempting option over sinking more money into the Stance - as my next two upgrades would be rear shock with lockout and better calipers, both of which the T8 has ;)
Looks like some great trails near you, too. Is that CO?
This is my dream bike that purple paint is just soooo goood
Its pretty awesome. One of my favorite paint schemes for sure!
Huzzah for mini doglets! (5:15)
Cheers
29" on a small frame feels lazy to me. I will never go that route again. I'm 65" tall and absolutely love a 27.5" wheelset.
Really want one of these... Of course they're "out of stock" in medium. Lame! Will order through your link though!
Should I be worried about the lack of UDH compatibility? And will I notice the low tier of the sunrace cassette ?
I was looking to transition to a full suspension mtb from my hardtail carbon fiber stump jumper and the Siskiu T8 looks legittttt. I want to amp up my downhill riding, however, my only hold up is I don't want to sacrifice too much of my strength of climbing. Do you think the weight difference will be a big shocker? Thanks!!
I do not think it will be, I have ridden some heavy full squish then gone right back to my hardtail which is lighter, I climb pretty much the same with suspension locked out so I think it should work.
It did really well in the Pinkbike efficiency test. ua-cam.com/video/QUw_-gu_9NM/v-deo.html
Im 177cm, should order M29 or L29?
Any tire reccomendations for spokane area in summer? I'm gonna be visiting late this june.
I've been a fan off the Assegai front Dissector rear combo. Rolls considerably fast and has good grip in dry (Beacon) and wet/damp (Mt Spokane)
No question, just tell Polygon to start supporting Africa. We need Polygon here, so few of the lower budget manufacturers support us.
My T8 came with vee flow snap tires
Hey mate, great video! Howcome the rear tyre looks wider than the front?
Good review..and value for money..
Wish they made a T8
Is There a massive difference in climbability between the two?
Thank you for your time.
Have an awesome day.
Meant to say 'wish they made a T9'
His suspension might not be set up right for his weight
@@BMOutdoorz That's exactly what I told him....I said that he should look at the suspension manufacturer's website for setup information
How much travel does the upgraded fork have? Want to know if 160mm of travel is too much for this bike?
there is a price difference between siskiu t7 and t8 about 500 usd , does it worth the extra 500 usd as i like t7 color a little bit more ( and that price entry point ) and probably upgrade afterwards , what are your thoughts about this ? Thx!
The parts on the t8 are much better than that of the t7. It’s a noticeable riding difference
@@mjlfz1 i believe that is the best option for some riders
@@Crafftyyy If I was you I would take the Large, but I think either would be great for you
I went XL at 6’1” and it feels right to me.
@@jonbgallant I went with the xl as well and it feels right. My only complaint is The handle bars are way to flat for me, need a lot more backsweep. And I can’t hop it for anything. (Still learning couldn’t do it on my old bike either)
Como se comporta la Mantencion a los bujes? Se desgastan muy rápido en comparación a los rodamientos? O no es una gran tarea?
As a beginner mountain bike rider I rode bmx forever would you recommend this or Roscoe 8
Is the DVO fork you installed still 140? You didn't say.
It is. Feels super balanced at 140mm, I wouldn't want to go more personally.
This bike is Beast
dam that is incredable. fox components on a 2,400 bike is nutz. i just spent 2500 on a kona process and this thing blows it out of its luege
Do you know if they are going to make a 2022 ? Probably a dumb question. I'm debating buying one for my first suspension bike
Been looking for weeks to find a T8 in a Large!
What is the deal with such a shortage of bikes?
I've even been looking for a nice used one.
I'm currently deployed overseas and really want one for when I get home but just can't fid one anywhere.
What're your thoughts on the breaks long term?
They've exceeded my expectations honestly. They will start to heat up a bit on long decents, but they have plenty of power and modulation. Overall solid 4 piston brake 👍
FYI, my buddy has a N7. Polygon used RED LOCTITE on the bottom bracket.
Was he able to get it off? Lol
@@brennanlindsay3589 Had to use a bit of heat.
Excluding the tall seat tube from the N9, would you rather have the T8 or N9?
For me, the N9. It fits my riding preferences better.
T8 2021 fork change suntour durolux 160 upgrade or downgrade ???
Can we get a comment on the dpx2 at 1:51? You said you will probably upgrade it in the future, so... next video will involve time travel? Is that the best way to install, with the piggy towards the back facing up?
That was on the N9, their enduro model. Haven't tried it on the T8.
Picked this up for just under £1650 which is a touch over ~$2000 - Been for a couple of rides and I think I've got an absolute bargain.
Where did you find it for that price?
If you’re in between large and extra large sizes would you go bigger or smaller?
Hello. I have a decision to make, perhaps you could assist:
I need to choose one of these 2 options as my next MTB:
Option 1: used canyon lux (2016 model carbon fiber, sram xx1, 11x1) condition "ok".
Does Polygon offer you Warranty?
Anyone know how it goes on really technical trails with roots and rocks
What size tire and frame should I get for this bike if I’m 5,4
is it good for jumps
Proud and happy to be a patreon 🤙
In my experience you usually forget biting that bullet pretty fast when the grin on your face wipes away the pain 😏
What type of wheelset is compatible with the current free hub
Been trying to find answers for this but to no avail
Thanks in advance
Would you mind providing the link to the volume spacers for the fork? also If I were to put a spacer in the fork, would have to do the same to the shock?
Hello, how much is the travel of the dvo fork that you put?
Great review! At 6 ft have you considered getting the xl size?
Naw, I wouldn't want to go bigger than the large personally.
That will slacken it out to 64.5 degrees and mess with other geo, I'd ride it first to see if you even need to upgrade travel length.
Definitely try it first at 140mm, but I probably wouldn't go past 150mm up front, 160mm would make it feel really off balanced with only 135mm out back.
Cheers everyone! Thanks for all your inputs 😊 Will try to ride it first using the stock fork then i'll go from there.
@@SharetheStoke89 Polygon approved up to 150mm upfront for T7/8.
I think 160mm would void the warranty.
More new pupper please!
Where you selling your old shocks!
What kind of volume spacers are you using?
I’m looking at picking this bike up, but I’m a little iffy on the sizing. I’m 6’2” and about 200lbs. I’m not sure if I could actually go with a L, or I’m basically stuck with an XL.
Went XL at 6’1” and it feels right.
Just bought a new bike with a diamond d2 on it. Do you like the dvo more than fox or Rockshox. My other big question is do you miss not being able to use volume reducing tokens.
I do like it better than both of those, and the fork is good enough, with enough adjustment I don't really think volume tokens are necessary.
T8 or N9 ?
If XC is a big factor, I'd say go with the T8. The N9 might be a bit over biked. T8 can still handle a lot too!
running 2.35 on both front & rear?
Yessir!
Do you think the d7 with even lesser travel would perform the same?
D7 is more of an XC bike so i would assume it will climb little better and descend little worse.
