Until I can watch the series' over again and complete the entire Ash Journey once and for all; I can't actually say it means anything at all yet.
Pokemon or otherwise it matters not; I expect the Sun and Moon out of all stories I start. My expectations for completion of plot and void of things that are left out... well its kind of expressed as X times Y to the power of Z.
So of course my outlook is Black and White; I find all the things like Pokemagic and Aura and raise my Sword and Shield in there defense and there need to be included in that completion. The full Prism of the various series have given me so much to speculate with and delivered so little answers to end the questions. My Gold and Silver badges for questions unanswered is "What does it mean in universe to be a Pokemon Master" the songs suggested answer of being the best that ever was is not even properly answered because we know so little of the history. Silver question being is why are so many clones in that world? Jennys and Joys having so little difference among there own number comes across as being creepy similar to phones or other mass produced tools; as the years go on the models improve on the base models function yet there purpose fits to them to well.
The anime side of the franchise has always been my GO too. Yet As much as its like chasing Diamonds in the sky; I kept waiting for Ashes Biological Father to appear as he was hinted at being something once... and yet we never got closer to this point. Team Rocket deserves real conclusion and success the kind of Pearl of wisdom or Great success that could break them away from Team Rocket and allow them to live in happiness without needing to be evil again. So many times they would do great because they were doing the right things only to have team Rocket stuff drag them back and ruin there lives.
Mystery that it may be I think I was able to seriously reference each game to some extent. In case you missed it Scarlet; ROY G BIV are the colors in a prism so most game titles as well as the first league and a certain Battle on some islands is covered by it.
I consider myself the hardest fan to please that has not turned to threats and other BS to object the show. I might like the majority of it but I liked it so much for potential not deeds. The fact the future was open and the sense it would never end gave rise to unimaginable potential for where the story could goh.
So that is why I reserve my final opinion until I have experienced the entire Ash journey as of current.

What I loved about Journeys as a whole is that it expressed time and time again how much Ash has grown and matured over the course of the whole series. Goh doesn’t even know he’s been traveling with the Alola champion until the 2nd time they visit Alola. Not because Ash isn’t proud of his achievements, but because he’s always looking forward. It differentiates what his child like characteristics are as a person with how much he’s grown and matured throughout the entirety of his adventures.

The bond with Ash and Pikachu is shown in literally every scene that they react to something. They’re always the same. Pikachu’s time spend on Ash’s shoulder vs in a pokeball and experiencing everything Ash does is what makes Yellow Mickey so OP in the first place. He experiences EVERYTHING that Ash does firsthand

It definitely made me cry. I watched the original Kanto series and most of Johto when it first aired, while I was in 8th-10th grade, only stepping away because life was getting more exciting and fun and I had other things that needed doing on Saturday mornings... but I always checked in with Ash and Pikachu, especially at season finale time.
Now I'm 37 with 3 kids who have been watching Journeys on Netflix. So when I saw he was going to be in the Top 8 I started watching the sub... I stand by my statement that Pikachu vs. Charizard is one of the best anime fights of all time. The choreography of the two of them running around and on the stadium, the clashing attacks, the "how will they get out of this one!" moments all culminating in a 1st person view of Pikachu collapsing, only to get a pep talk dream from his friends and an electric roar as he finally takes down the #1 ranked trainer and pokemon in the world... I couldn't stop tearing up.
I think you hit the nail on the head here... nostalgia mixed with the realization that you've grown up and that a new generation is ready to take over for both myself and Ash is something that doesn't go down easy... but once it does you realized how truly beautiful it all was and will continue to be.

This video just made me tear up, the significance of Ash vs Leon is very big and it just made it feel like that now Ash is World Champion he has nothing to do as starting over in another region with just Pikachu still, there was small hope he will continue his journey and after 136 it just hits very deep in that he'll not continue his adventure as the protagonist anymore. It's like a void in my heart which makes me feel like I've lost someone close to me like a friend or family member,

Great Video! Yeah, Episode 132 hit differently, it was seeing that everything Ash had done over the past 25 years still mattered. Every friend, every pokemon he either caught or let go at some point still played a part. It wasn't till after the dust set that the other questions started popping up. As we wait to see Ash's choice for the future, it leaves me wondering what is mine? Very few anime can bring up these thoughts after it concludes. Happy Holidays!

While I did cry tears of joy seeing Ash win, I did have that uncomfortable and bittersweet feeling too. Knowing they are moving on from Ash in the anime after the 11 episodes also brings that uncomfortable feeling. It wasn't until I watched your video, and how you perfectly described the meaning behind Ash's victory and why it hit us older fans the hardest, did I find the reason behind the uncomfortable feeling. Kinda felt like I was letting go of that childhood dreamland because Ash had "grown up" now. Your video definitely spoke to me and helped put into words what I've been trying to process since the airing of Ash's victory. Thank you.

Seeing Ash accomplish so much and his era of the show coming to an end really hit me and lit a fire under my butt to aim for my own goals. This may be late for me, but it really feels like I'm leaving my childhood behind now so new generations can start their own journeys in life. It's funny, going from a little 'boy' with protagonist syndrome much like ash did in his early episodes, to being a grown woman who admired the effort and determination that he ended up with. This ending really feels like a new beginning for so many peoples lives.

Yeah you nailed it. I'm currently 35 years old and I was crying during that whole segment of Pikachu seeing all of the Pokemon they had come across. Once that moment was going on, it dawned on me that this could possibly be the end for Ash and Pikachu; the end of their adventures.
I'll admit I had stopped watching the series once Ash left Hoenn and was going back to Kanto, [mainly cause I just couldn't watch it more when it switched Channels] During my college years I found people were posting the Diamond and Pearl arc online and was trying to watch as much as I could, but school and life kept getting in the way so I could watch just bits and pieces here in there. Every time I watched Ash continue on his journey it did send me back to my childhood when I first started watching the show.
Now thanks to the internet [and a much more stable work schedule] I can watch the Pokemon anime much easier hence why I started watching at the tail end of XYZ, Sun and Moon and now Journey's. Ash's personality has matured so much since the last time I've seen him and that makes me feel so happy. These last 11 episodes will definitely be a tear jerker so I'mma have my Kleenex ready.

It would’ve been the BEST call back to the very first scene in the Anime. 8D I mean: Think about it. The journey of Ash started when he watched a match between a Gengar and a Nidorino right? The Pokemon anime's been a part of our childhood and seeing our man-boy turned champion grow is something to be both happy and sad about; happy in the sense that he's finally the world champion and has achieved growth as a Pokemon trainer-not sure if he's achieved his goal of being a Pokemon master; and sad, as this also marked the end for his story with the anime. I just hope those final 11 episodes do make a great closure to one of our greatest childhood heroes and give him a proper send-off.

About the thunderbolt attack Pikachu did, with all the rainbow-y effect and the black sparks, I like to think that attack is quite similar to the large thunderbolt attack in the first episode "POKéMON! I Choose You!", against the flock of Spearow. It had the same kind of emotional weight as well. I know it's probably sounding a bit silly, if a bit childish, but I got the same feeling when Pikachu used that move as when I first saw the first episode.
As for the upcoming 11 episodes, I'm going to try and prepare myself for the episodes like "Bye Bye Butterfree" and "Pikachu's Goodbye", because I feel like I may cry like a little baby.

I think they should split the anime into two kinda like how the Pokemon manga is different from the anime it should have two stories being told in the same (or even in different) world(s). It's just not... Right for Ashy Boy to leave us so soon (even though he's been on his journey for so long) it's felt like no time has passed at all. If Pokemon does decide to leave Ash behind to rest I hope some fans out there will continue his story with professional work possibly being a thing.

Jumping on the bandwagon saying they’ll miss ash

If you didn’t support him him through his ups and downs then you haven’t really earned the right to honor him imo

      1. Best Wishes
      2. XY
      3. Diamond & Pearl
      4. Sun & Moon
      5. Journeys (though it's somehow an awesome series and an utter mess all at once)
...Or, you can just watch it all in chronological order (which is the same list, but with Diamond & Pearl first instead of third).

    • @Angelite1209
      @Angelite1209 Рік тому

A perfect example is XY series Ash Vs. Moltres. The Japanese dub makes the battle look and sound hype🔥👄🔥, but English dub makes it sound anticlimactic and cringy😑.
Also!! the English dub makes the usual mistake of making some Pokemon sound cringy. Not every pokemon speak their own name!! 😒
The Japanese dub does it correctly and gives Pokemon more natural creature-like voices.

It’s sad to see Ash and Pikachu retire. I cried a little after seeing the ending song to the last episode of journeys. Been watching Pokémon since the day it came out.
I’m excited to see how the new series will play out.
It’s understandable that we will be getting to see the journey of a new trainer. But it some how doesn’t feel quite right if Pikachu isn’t there.
He is the biggest star for Pokémon after all.
With Eevee coming in second. So I’m really curious as to how the series will handle that.
Plus who will team Rocket focus on now?
