So what's your favourite memory of Ash?
Fighting against paul
Winning against Gary or Leon
I don,t have a favorite episdoe, but as a kid growing up he was there for me in thee good the bad and everything else, he took me on adventures with him every week. So I thank Ash for everything.
Ash Greninja.
The “Rainbow Kamehameha” against Tapu Koko.
Definitely when he won the alola league. The disbelief in his face was truly how most ten year olds would react. Thank you ash for 26 wonderful years
That was a classic moment without a doubt. :)
@@charusharu thank you for replying. I've been a fan since 2018
it still felt like mickey mouse league compared to other pokemon leagues considering anyone can enter and the winner automatically becomes champion instead of challenging elite four and current champion
You summarize him very well. He lives for the the adventure. Ash is the very kind of character some didn't want. But is always needed. Otherwise would we wouldn't appreciate all his stories. The good, the crazy, the weird, and the wonderful. Love that aim to be a pokemon master is reminding us of something that many forgot: Enjoy the journey. The path and the goal. Mata Nui! One of the X and Y episodes was all about that! Many people in his place would have fallen from good times to evil hearts. Not Ash. It doesn't matter on what our universe does to him. He still moves on. Can we?
Thanks! A classic character without a doubt. :)
Ash’s adventure and it’s length that concluded in a satisfying way isn’t something we never saw before or will ever see again in any franchise it Truly is one of a kind
Gonna have to go with X&Y when he and greninja saved that Spewpa in the snowstorm. Because reminded him that the reason he went on this journey to begin with was not to get stronger but because he simply loved Pokémon. And that’s a sentiment that has been expressed time and time again throughout the anime, especially in the last episode.
That was the exact same memory I was thinking of!
That was a classic Ketchum moment for sure.
Although the Pokémon master thing wasn’t outright stated they dropped some less than subtle hints on what it was
Great summary. Pokemon feels like a pretty unique anime, even with it being so heavily kid targeted, with how many years it had gone over with the same central character.
To think there was a time that I lamented about the anime being Ash-focused, and it wasn't too long ago for that.. but Ash's character has transformed so intensely, it just usually isn't done in such a long and drawn out format. If you watched the series as it came out over the years, as a kid to adult, it doesn't feel like he's changed that much and its easy to miss. But he really has come a long way.
Thanks! It's definitely unique in its longevity and for having Ash as the main character up until now. When you look at where he began and where he is now it's quite the difference!
God, I almost forgot what an overconfident and incompetent prat Ash was at the beginning. I didn't keep up a lot with the anime but I've read reviews and Ash has grown up so fucking much it's amazing.
Also it just hit me, Ash went to all the other regions looking to be a champion and lost. He went to Alola to expand his horizons...and won. That's such a good bit of irony and an example of "trying too hard can make you do worse, just don't think too much about it."
He was definitely a bit of a jerk at the beginning lol. And absolutely - as if he was finally able to push himself all the way by taking a moment to focus on other aspects of life and become more well-rounded.
Ash Ketchum, He was the zero turn into international hero.
He was the true underdog and watching him go from frustrated arrogant growing soon later to be a real pokemon master
Yes, it was quite the journey!
It feels like Ash is doing what Leon has said to him back when they had their relaxing time off how Leon reflected on how being defeated by Eternatus shown him how much more he needed to improve and get better same with Ash I can see how wanting his journey to never end to keep befriending other Pokémon and having battles with them is exciting. I know the previous director say Ash will return but I hope it will be an long while and I wish he would be much older and an epic trainer than ever before. I will truly miss Ash and Pika This anime means a lot to me over this 26 years.
Yeah, in a sense I suppose he is the "new Leon" who will need to find new ways to improve. Seeing aged-up Ash and Pikachu would be a blast. :)
It was such an imaginative and unique and special and one of a kind journey and there will never be anything like it again in any franchise and I hope more people discover it for the first time
There’s no characters like them in any anime or even within pokemon itself
They are so special I’m gonna be showing the anime to my kids
Watching since 1998. Best decision of my life. No regrets. Truly an end of an era. The end of an iconic journey.
Me too! Hard to believe things have finally wrapped up.
@@charusharu Yeah.
If you count all the leagues ash participated in and number of participants ash has beaten like 600 trainers
Top 10 each league of 100+ trainers plus 50 gym badges
Defeated the battle frontier
Like 20 clubsplosion tournaments
Defeated all the evil teams
The loss of 6 leagues is nothing compared to how many people he’s beaten in the the entire history of the anime
And he’s the champion of alola and now the strongest trainer in the entire Pokémon world
In 20 seasons of the anime ash has beaten hundreds
Not to mention how many times he’s saved the world has access to every game mechanic
Please let’s stop this narrative that he just became good now
Ash was always a prodigy
X&Y will forever be my favorite series. Sun&Moon made me cry grown man tears 😭 seeing him finally winning that cup after all these years. And now I’m still trying to presses that Journeys was the finally swan song for Ashy boi. While I’m curious about the next Generation to come I’m still hoping we’ll see him again in some way. ❤
It’s really hard to pinpoint which Ash moment is my favorite; I just wanna say his whole journey was a delight to watch. If and when I have kids, I want them to watch the anime
A delight indeed! When I have kids I'll definitely be introducing them to the show asap. :P
I'm so fortunate that I enjoyed Pokémon from its conception, as it brought much joy to my life. After 26 years, it was sweet to see Ash, my first cartoon role model, define what being a Pokémon Master means to him. I now look back to a time when I was six years old, and Ash was the type of boy I wanted to be like when I turned ten. Pokémon had such a profound impact on my development. Where my parents had The Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show as a defining cultural moment of their childhood, I had Pokémon The Frist Movie; my uncle collected sports cards as a kid, and I collected Pokémon cards; my first video game, and best birthday gift, was Pokémon Yellow; and lastly but most importantly Pokémon was the first anime I'd ever seen, exposing me to its incredible fantasy world, and moreover anime as an entertainment medium.
Likewise. Pokemon really made an impact on my life in many ways - as something fun & inspiring, as something my best friend and I have enjoyed together for years, and even as something that contributed to me getting together with my wife. Also, what a great birthday gift you received. :D
He taught us one of if not the greatest of all golden rules of life: Never give up.
A truly great lesson.
You'll be our best friend, Ash & Pikachu. Been watching since 1999/2000. Had the toys, cards, video games, etc. Your journey is and always will remain a special place in my heart. Thank you Charles for creating this masterpiece for Ashy boy. I will miss him. I do wish he finds the Alto Mare Latias and be part of his off screen team someday. Until then, Arigatou Satoshi-kun
My pleasure! I'll miss Ash, too, though it'll be exciting to see what's up next!
@@charusharu exactly
Thank you Ash & Pikachu for creating my golden childhood era! You'll always remain a part of my life ❤
"Golden childhood era" - a great way to put it!
Im a longtime fan and as heart broken as I am and will be while watching the show
I’m still gonna watch and give these new kids a shot because that’s what Pokémon is about being open to new experiences
Pokémon is such a one of a kind unique franchise and ash and pikachu have such an one of a kind unique journey
There’s no characters like them in any anime or even within pokemon itself
They are so special I’m gonna be showing the anime to my kids
Said 6 on 6 exhibition match being Ash's first victory against a Champion level trainer. Which is why Alola counts.
Beautiful video charu 🫶🏻😭
I don,t have a favorite episdoe, but as a kid growing up he was there for me in thee good the bad and everything else, he took me on adventures with him every week. I didn't really care about the BW reboot that much because the reason I watched the anime wasn't only for battles, But Ash Ketchum as a whole. So I thank Ash for everything.
It's hard to believe just how long he and the anime have been a part of many of our lives!
I can't believe Ash Ketchum realized that being a Pokemon Master meant "Maybe The Real Treasure Was the Friends We Made Along the Way" That's actually hilarious.
- His vow to the Spearows.
- Abandoning his dream for Aipom & Bianca.
- Being able to say goodbye to his friends.
I don't think it's possible to pick one sole moment.
Those are three classic moments. :)
Kanto: Starter
Jotho: Learner
Hoen: Mentor
Sinnoh: Humbeling
Univo:Recovering
Kalos: Pro
Aloha: Everydayer
Journey: Champion
I still remember Ash bragging so hard for having 2 badges he didnt even earn as Ash won against Brock due to a broken sprinkler, not because of a legitimate battle strategy and gain the cascade badge simply because he saved the Cerulean city gym from team rocket, not because he won a gym battle.
To someone who literally forgot that he is a champion when Goh was surprised the locals of Alola is calling Ash,"champion" to which Goh asked, "why didnt you tell me?" and Ash responded "Sorry, I forgot".
He went from so arrogant and prideful for having 2 badges he didnt even earn to someone who straight up forgot he is a champion.
Thats character development.
By the end of the series Ash pondered "my goal was never to become a champion. It is to become a pokemon master! What is a pokemon master? Perhaps befriending all Pokemon there is!" Thus...Ash's journey...even if uts off screen...continues.
It was certainly a big change in attitude. Very rewarding to see it all unfold over the years.
Journeys Ash is the true peak of Ash's character arc. Don't attack me it's only my perspective. Journeys Ash was not only competitive but also relaxed. He was best of the both worlds
It was a good balance of attributes!
He became that relax just because his hard work and development
Ash’s experience doesn’t start over he just gets new Pokémon he’s never met and he has to adjust to them and get used to how the work
Pikachu lost to snivy because he was in a new environment against new Pokémon and he was exhausted and distracted he wasn’t focused on the battle
His growth has always been consistent you just have to look at it from a different perspective and not compare the Pokémon anime to other anime because it operates so uniquely and differently
That was an amazing video.... I was wondering you could do more of these videos with Ash's other companions like Gary, Iris, etc. showcasing their point of view 👍
Even the greatest of us can have the worst of beginnings and make many mistakes, but that doesn't mean we can't turn all of it into lessons that will propel us to true greatness
That's right. :)
I started watching Pokémon since I was about 4 years old back in 2005 and it is an anime that has carved its legacy and lessons into my heart and soul. The adventures, the friends he made along the way, the places he traveled to, and even the lowest points of his life taught me that life is not about where you want to go, it’s about enjoying the journey that we call “life” to our fullest and do what we love doing. Ash Ketchum and Pikachu have been a part of my life since I was practically born and my cousin grew up with the games whereas I grew up with just the anime yet it was something that kept us close to one another for many years and more to come.
My favorite memory of Pokémon has to be the final episode of Aim to be a Pokémon Master, where Ash sat under the tree and began to think about the question that Gary posed to him about what how close he was to becoming a Pokémon Master as it really made Ash take a step back and think about the journeys he had been on and discover what it meant to become a Pokémon Master before he then set off to his next adventure with Type: Wild playing in the background.
Thank you for being a part of me for my 22 years of life and may your journey through life continue to be fruitful every day, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu. 🥺😭✨🤍👋🏻🎉
This was a good timeline video on Ash.
The original series, Sun & Moon, Journeys and Aim to be a Pokémon Master were my top favorites...followed by all the others. Even though Ash's story has ended, I'm still looking forward to what comes next in Horizons.
Dare I ask, would you do the same timeline video for Team Rocket's Jessie & James as well, Charles?
Thanks! I have a TR video on the back-burner that goes even deeper. Not sure when I will make it, though.
@@charusharu I definitely look forward to it 💖
Thank you for another great video Charles 🎉❤ 🙏🏻 I hope you and weiwei are doing well. Ash is definitely amazing character and so inspiring too.
Thanks! We're doing well - hope that you are, too. :)
@@charusharu thank you 🙏🏻
I injured myself while celebrating for ash ketchum when he won against leon, i was so happy i was jumping and accidnetly kicked into my table, but it was worth it
We will miss you our forever 10 year old champion
That was a wild episode for sure!
9:22 bw still gets some hate but it’s definitely looked back on more favorably by people who have rewatched it
Never thought id see the fall of one of the last and most iconic Childhood Giants. Pokemon just wont be the same without its iconic duo.
Sad to see them go!
Just realized one of my fave moments is the crew escaping the SS Anne would have been cool to see them back on it or pass by a new one.
That would have been a nice touch as well - especially given that much of Ash's recent Journeys adventures were set in Vermillion City.
Honestly as someone that's predicted journeys was gonna be his final run and was always in favor of the idea of someone eventually taking on his mantle for years: It took me a couple days to be able to even THINK about the final episode being the last time we'd see him and Pikachu's journeys without bursting into tears and sobbing like a fool. Thank you for the past 25 years old friends. Will look forward to the future while cherishing the past and present you've given us.
I’m more sad about the loss of Team Rocket.
@@princesspikachu3915 Lemme tell ya the final blasting off was really emotional too. I'm glad they're still watching over our boys in their own way. We all know when it matters they'll be real homies lol
It's pretty hard to believe this is the end of their time as the leads, that's for sure.
I started watching Pokémon back in the battle frontier…ash vs Greta and my favorite battle has to be his battle vs Leon. My only gripe with that battle is just how underdeveloped Leon was. If he had Cynthia development?…oooooweeee
Yeah, would have liked to see more of him. Twilight Wings & his Evolutions episode add to his character in a way that would have been nice to see in the main series.
You're absolutely right, Clair indeed 😌
Clair. 😭
16:21 In the finale of BW ash says something similar so I kinda always knew it was the case
Was just waiting for everyone else to catch on
While them goofily saying
“There’s nothing left for him to do”
Would’ve loved to keep it going with him befriending every Pokémon oh well
I have my favorites(Diamond-Pearl and X.Y), I have the one I despise(Sun-Moon) and the "Aim To Be A Pokemon Master", which could've been so much more, will always be in my mind a set of random filler episodes better suited in the second year of any other series that only served to hold its TvTokyo timeslot until the new series was ready. But for me, it was about the whole story from beginning to end and enjoying the ride while we had it.
Yeah, Aim To Be A Pokemon Master could have been handled better in my opinion as well, but thematically it ended on the right note. :)
Wel will always miss Ash forever !!!😢 ❤️

As a 27 year old that dropped out of he series at Diamond and Peral bu stated with advanced and seen all he episodes up to that point... I took that message to heart a long time a ago and still seek to be a Pokémon Master as Ash does.
Hope you catch up

People who haven’t watched the anime in years
Jumping on the bandwagon saying they’ll miss ash
Feels so fake and in authentic
If you didn’t support him him through his ups and downs then you haven’t really earned the right to honor him imo
The way you earn it is by going back to when you stopped and watching all of
Glad you got something good out of the show, too! :)
Ash Ketchum : Becoming a champion will make me closer to a pokemon master
Also Ash Ketchum : Champion is not my goal, I'm still a challenger
Haha becoming a Champion is just another rung on the ladder it seems. :)
My favorite ash memory is when he caught his krokorok
16:40 100% agree although others won’t
Happy that you finally uploaded
I was also happy to finally upload! :D
5:31 even the creator could be wrong lol
The one and only complaint I have about Aim to be a Pokemon master is that , like they had the Cilan episode, they could actually throw all of the travel companions in all the episodes. Until he has met them all and return home. I know it's difficult with May retiring from voice acting , etc. But that would have been amazing. Atleast we got all of them except May and Max.
I hope Horizons is set atleast 6 years later from the Ash timeline and Riko and Roy encounter people like , Top Coordinator Dawn, supreme Gym leader Paul, Astronaut Sophocles , Island King Kiawe etc
For me, it would have to be the cowardly open-ending. Pokemon Master had an okay thing going for it giving closure to Ash's journey (it could've been better, but hey, that's what happens when you relegate a whole plethora of characters to the background - that being the Pokemon - over two decades before trying to force them into the limelight. The results always be mixed) but it sufficed.
The ending really killed everything for me, smashing the reset button and closing off with the clown trio still stalking Ash as if to say, *Change is bad.* It really left an incredibly bad taste in my mouth
@@BubblesChika absolutely agreed with you there.
The time skip idea would definitely be interesting to see. :)
I was thinking this too until I realized Cilan was the only companion Ash didn't meet in Journeys proper aside from Misty (who also at least got to appear in sun and moon for a couple episodes) and of course May and Max (for the va reason) prior to their cameos watching his battle with Leon. And i figure that's why they gave him an episode focus in here and did it pretty early on too. And while I still would've liked more of the other traveling buddies, I can also understand why they opted to stick with just Misty and Brock otherwise.
Another great video. So glad that they did Ash justice before writing him out ... Possibly forever
Thanks! Yeah, it was great to see him win big. :)
Hey! Im BBB from twitter if you remember me. Great video!
Hey BBB! Glad you enjoyed the video. :)
Ash will be missed. My memories of Satoshi is some Great moment in battle because how much he's improving his skills to become stronger with his stronger team.
Definitely lots of those kinds of moments to pick from. :)
@@charusharu Indeed, I should never forget that moment, especially his creative strategies
Seeing Ash winning a traditional league conference and challenging elite fours remained a dream....

"Well, except for one"

Wow love the vids with the mashup images and pixel art🎊
Thanks! Glad you like the style. :)
Thanks Ash, Pikachu, for everything.
Very well summarised, Charles 👏
Thanks!
Every season has its own unique charm
By the time it got to around advanced generation I had a harder time keeping up. So I love a lot of those moments like ash beating Paul, but I wasn't actively watching at that point. So probably Pikachu taking down Dragonite in the orange isles and beating Gary were the two big ones for me
Oh! And I remember when x and y came out, I went back and wanted the first episode for the first time in over a decade, and that, "come and get me!!" It hit hard 😭
Great video!
Fave Ash memory is first memory. Young dude was willing to give everything just to save one Pikachu that hated him.
That’s Jesus.
That is who we are called to be.

Hope to see him again sometime soon. ;-;
Thank you Ash for all the memories, hope he becomes the G.O.A.T in the new series as a leon typish supporting character
I look forward to seeing him reemerge as The GOAT as well!
Thanks for everything Ash. Goodbye and good luck to become a pokémon master.
Well done, Charles. Per usual! Ever given any thought to being a novelist?
Thanks, Brian! Being a novelist was actually my childhood dream and writing a book is still something I'd love to do. :)
I love your video making style so much
Thanks!
7:24 the people who assume that really need to watch the rest of the show lol
My fave favorite memory of Ash obously Xy with the best art style the best battle and besides that romantic element that made that season like no other, Ash lost broke my heart so to speak but it is what is the ending was badass though. He defeated the strong cruel opponent named Lysander, Lysander was cruel enough to totured Ash and greninja but they could get over it.
The final episode:
The final episode of Kalos was the perfect presentation to make the anime finished compare to Journeys in my humble opinion i wish the Ash's story could end on that season, i don't mind parting with our ashy boy in badass manner and plot. But the creators shiffted into different plot.😒
My thought about you:
You such a positive man when it comes to Pokèmon you're different in a good way as Japanese, besides your English as delishv as juicy nuggets to be heared, in what what way or method did you learning English? I also watched the video on why Ash's is so powerful? In that video you explained that we need to have meta goal and sub goal and how we could following Ash rules to be the very best.
Meta goal:
Those are goals that we wanted to achive.
Sub goal:
A goal that we wanted to pursue or acomplish in life.
My meta goal i want to communicate better in English.
My sub goal:
I have to practice over and over till the very end, until i reach my goal.
Ash have done banger job to be a Pokèmon master, he made it through those system goals he encountered guilt, set backs, hurdles, and different kinds of challenges but evetually he earn respect from his Pokemon what a long Journey to be succeed brother, good luck on your dreams you can do it back on our feet and never holding back are the keys of reaching our goals.😊

The anime has no filler. There is no such thing as filler in Ash's adventure just because it is not based on a game.
When watching the final episode of the original series, it just felt normal, as though that it's not the end, but just a new beginning.
Besides, it's not the end for me personally, as I still need to see Sun and Moon, to see how before Satoshi (Ash) became the champion of the world, he became the champion of Alola first, as after I'm done watching that, then I will watch the new beginning of Liko and Roy.
Enjoy watching Sun and Moon!

I am going to miss Ash Ketchum. I am 28 and I have been watching the anime since I was a little kid. I remember a time when I believed Ash would never win a regional conference and become a regional Champion. Then when he became the Alola Champion, I was shocked, stunned, and excited thrilled. I didn't think they could top that but then he became the World Champion and I cried during that episode. It's like seeing your whole life come full circle.
Yeah, I'll miss these guys too. 😢 It's pretty wild to have been connected to a journey like this for so many years.
Every time I here you speak, the messages or meaning behind the concepts of your reviews of the Pokemon Anime are nothing but inspirational.
However in my opinion, based the Source Material of the anime,, any protagonist can teach us the values of pursuing your dreams, enjoying the accomplishment and never giving up for better possibilities. Pokemon on the whole had way too many characters they could have try take on the position of Protagonist yet it was such a wasted opportunity. But at least Ash is Champion of the world moving forward to the next adventure.
Thanks for watching the videos! I guess we will see how things play out with different protagonists soon enough. :)
