After reading the comment section, I've concluded that I may be in the minority of people who like Lower Decks. I used to just chuck it in the bad bin, but I came around to it. This is the only show among all these Nu Trek shows that is genuinely accurate and faithful to Trek lore.
I think people's attitude to this show is mostly affected by current state of all of the Star Trek franchise. I believe people would treat it differently if three things would change: 1) If there were once again producers that would maintain StarTrek's integrity and character of the show. 2) If there was a good mainline ST show. 3) If LD was clearly made to be separated from the canon storytelling. Because you cannot make a serious sci-fi world building if you are including a parody that is constantly ridiculing your own story while you're building it. And there is no point in making a parody to a main show that is not good. So LD has to constantly borrow stuff from previous good shows. Everybody loves GalaxyQuest. And there can be any joke on anything in Star Trek because it isn't compromising the Star Trek story. It should have been named something like a "Fun Trek" instead of Star Trek. And firstly it should have been initiated by people who understand and care for ST. Similarly like GalaxyQuest creators did. One thing that hurts me is just that name of the show. Lower Decks is a name of a great TNG episode. A strong and serious story about ordinary people dealing with challenges of life, difficult situations and consequences you simply couldn't affect. It is not right that such episode is being pushed back from public memory by a show that borrows some of its premise but fills it with a banal and carefree humor in absolute contradiction to the point of the original story. Sadly Kurtzman and his people don't understand that some stories can have a deeper meaning and the name of this show is constantly reminding me of that.
LD takes one of the most thoughtful, bittersweet episodes in TNG and makes a mockery of it. I don't care if it knows its lore. Not being a stupid show isn't good enough. Also Star Trek has already been parodied dozens of times, by better writers. Galaxy Quest, Red Dwarf, The Orville... I fail to see precisely what the point of this show is. All it does is further corrupt Star Trek. None of these people belong in Starfleet. I could enjoy it if only it wasn't called Star Trek.
first contact is still my favorite star trek movie, even though the whole borg story line with action picard isn't all that interesting, the actual first contact time travel is and the music is just great, and hit me right in the feels every time I see or here it.
Would the park even be as accurate as what we see in First Contact? I remember that the crew of the Enterprise were surprised how Zefram Cochrane behaved and their expectations were different to what they experienced.
There is no temporal prime directive the prevents someone from changing things in the present. they simply have more historical information on Bozeman Montana and are using it in the present.
Lower Decks is a very fun show I have no idea why so many people in the comments are so grumpy over it, it has more of Trek's spirit in it than Discovery and the first 2 seasons of Picard combined. More often than not it's even taking shots at modern Trek or making a deliberate point to show what made the older shows good, for better or worse the show at least doesn't seem to hate its audience unlike a lot of NuTrek did

I never understood how people can discriminate toward different types of humor. I find all types of humor funny the intellectual as well as the Rick and Morty type of humor. You need to loosen up, you are exactly like Patrick Stewart during the begining of TNG season one with his infamous outburst I quote "We are not here to have fun!!". Lower decks proves that one can be canonical at the same time as making fun of the various peculiarities of the star trek universe, they are not mocking the world of star trek, they are celebrating it via humor.
Quite a problem is that currently we cannot take seriously even the mainline shows, because they often look like parody themselves. In such situation it is not a good idea to introduce another parody show.
One would think in the 25th century they are past the extreme commercialization. T'Plana-Hath as a slide? Yeah, sure, that's exactly what I would expect to see at the historical memorial site...

Imagine a museum where a skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus is changed into climbing frame or where statue of Galileo Galilei is surrounded by a carousel.
Part of First Contact's plot was how sanitised Cochrane's image had become in the 24th century (& earlier). It was a surprise for them to find he was kind of an asshole. So I don't think it's quite right for the music & his style to have made it to Lower Decks. Really I think that monument should make out like Cochrane was a stoic visionary.
As a Spanish, this "First Contact Museum" reminds me (a bit) of the Wharf of the Caravels in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva, Andalucía, Spain), which is a museum dedicated to Columbus' first travel in 1492 (and the discovery of America), even featuring live-size replicas of the three Caravels (well, actually, one Carrack and two Caravels) that made the trip: the Santa María, the Pinta, and the Niña. Lower decks is a favorite show of mine. it combines humor, canon accurate jokes and a lot of wonderful fan service. It is truly the best of both worlds 😄.
I don’t know what to think of Lower deck, it’s fun and animation like Futurama but set in Star Trek. It doesn’t take it self seriously and has loads of inside nods to past trek show. the oddest thing is it does kinda make fun of some Trek stuff, wich feel like it attacking it’s own fan base. About those dilithium crystals, there are several fan-theories. Two of my favourite are: 1) You don't necessarily need dilithium for warp speed, but your engine will burnout after few minutes of use. Or 2) There was dilithium on Earth all the time, we just didn't have the scientific knowledge to recognize it from an ordinary crystals and realize its potential. Both theories sound plausible to me.

I can't hate too much on Lower Decks. It seems to care more about getting details right than live action NuTrek shows. Even Picard Season 3, which was great, drove me nuts with all it's Changeling inconsistencies.
Somehow before Picard season 3 Lower Decks was Star Trek show under Kurtzman that tried the most. I mean it did not succeed but it kinda tried at least.
Picard season 3 still lacks good dialogues or believable characters. This is basically the worst I have ever seen in any movie or series. This is so sad, because everything else is so great about it.
I actually think that this ship would have been a long time scrapped, because for Vulcans it was just an ordinary ship that was present at one of many somewhat important occasions and there is no point in saving every ship that did something interesting. Even the aircraft carrier Enterprise after the WW2 was eventually scrapped. But I believe that humans would have preserve Cochrane's detached cockpit that returned back to Earth after the warp test. For them it was already significant.
I enjoy lower decks. It's not real star trek, it's more of fan art or fan fiction. From that angle ill take it! But I sure wish someone would bring back Gene Roddenberrys position.

Lower Decks reminds me of Suikoden 5 - it puts on a good show of being a genuine iteration of its franchise, tailors its trappings well with knowledge of the details, but still amounts to nothing more than a soulless, poorly-written mimicry. It's basically just cosplaying as Star Trek, putting effort into its costume but caring not a whit for what it's aping. In some ways, it's almost more frustrating than Discovery and Picard, which at least aren't even trying to pretend that they have the slightest respect for themselves.

Even Picard Season 3, which was great, drove me nuts with all it's Changeling inconsistencies.

Wow, a lot of hate for this show. I don’t get it, it’s a fun little show that’s like watching a trek trivia game.
Somehow before Picard season 3 Lower Decks was Star Trek show under Kurtzman that tried the most. I mean it did not succeed but it kinda tried at least.
Picard season 3 still lacks good dialogues or believable characters. This is basically the worst I have ever seen in any movie or series. This is so sad, because everything else is so great about it.

I am sure the ship the Vulcans came in would be converted into a museum ship not a slide.
I actually think that this ship would have been a long time scrapped, because for Vulcans it was just an ordinary ship that was present at one of many somewhat important occasions and there is no point in saving every ship that did something interesting.
Even the aircraft carrier Enterprise after the WW2 was eventually scrapped.
But I believe that humans would have preserve Cochrane's detached cockpit that returned back to Earth after the warp test. For them it was already significant.

I enjoy lower decks. It's not real star trek, it's more of fan art or fan fiction. From that angle ill take it!
But I sure wish someone would bring back Gene Roddenberrys position.
I genuinely fell sad for Star Trek fans.

What I get from these comments is there are a lot of people who take Star Trek way too seriously....I mean did anyone actually think the original series with Harry Mudd and Tribbles episodes was supposed to be a drama? Whats wrong with a show that doesn't take its self too seriously?
I get a kick out of the comments section lately, all the hate for 'NuTrek' this, and 'NuTrek' that. If you dislike it so much, why do you keep watching videos on it? Criticism and parody are one thing, why I love nitpicking nerd and the parody videos on this channel, but I honestly think some people just search for star trek videos all day just to levy their disapproving comments on them lol.

Lower Decks reminds me of Suikoden 5 - it puts on a good show of being a genuine iteration of its franchise, tailors its trappings well with knowledge of the details, but still amounts to nothing more than a soulless, poorly-written mimicry. It's basically just cosplaying as Star Trek, putting effort into its costume but caring not a whit for what it's aping. In some ways, it's almost more frustrating than Discovery and Picard, which at least aren't even trying to pretend that they have the slightest respect for themselves.
I only played up to Suikoden III. I'll take your word for it that V is inferior
