Wow what a jem. I'm so jealous I been wanting this very amp for years. I cant believe that a Boss Katana 50 Mk II gets 30k + views and all these awesome vintage Vox, Marshall, and Fender amps don't get as many views. These are the sounds that are timeless. And they last for years and years. How long will a Katana last? Disposable crap. Keep up the great content 👍
My tech last week installed me a pot on the back of my JMP that dials off some ennoying high mids , it works like a charm and very useful at lower volumes. I wouldn't drill holes on this nice 1982 amp but mine had previous holes from previous mods .
Thes black Filter Cpas are normal for the early 80's, seems like they bridge the change from DALY to LRCs. I worked on a few early 80 2203/2204 and they all had these black caps.
I'm putting together a parts list for a 2204 Lead mini w/6v6's. I'm digging the Hammond 12"x8"x5" "lunchbox" chassis but I'll probably just use the JCM2k 15 watt chassis and cabinet I have. This is just one of those amps you need to round out the Fender clean/tweed sound.
@@PsionicAudio I realize it’s my opinion vs your opinion, but I believe the treble peaking in a jcm800 provides its magic. I suppose if you play a strat you might reduce that treble peaking, but I believe it’s beautiful and essential with a humbucker guitar

Very nice. I haven't seen one that clean in ages.
I own an 83 jcm800 2203. Thanks for the upload
Please play this when the repair and maintenance is finished.
My favorite amp

What a nice JCM. Not my amp of choice but I’d love to hear it.
Who didnt want a jcm 800 in 82 , anyone who played rocknroll did, that much i know for sure.
Cool
Very nice!!

Part 2 should be cool!!
Uh oh, International ServiceMaster tubes. Bad news! Expect noise and microphonics.....
Hypothetically though, which VPN would you suggest?
Asking for a friend.
are all the burgundy resistors in these amps carbon films? I see these often in older amps, and wonder if they'll eventually drift like carbon comps..
I can't find those screen resistors on any schematic and it's driving me nuts over here.
I think they went to horizontal inputs in 86....maybe late 85 if I remember correctly.
@@AndyK.23 Late '85.
Late '85, same time as the filter capacitor debacle and switch to horizontal input jacks directly mounted to the PCB.
I own an '84 with horizontal inputs.
Best settings for Marshalls = bass 10, middle 10, treble 0
Please don’t neuter that amp by removing the bright cap!
Nothing will be done unless the owner wants it done. But lifting that cap hardly neuters the amp.
