  • Rotator cuff tears can heal NATURALLY without surgery if you do the right things. Most healthcare professionals don’t know this and don’t know how to guide their patients on healing naturally.
Treatment for a torn rotator cuff is heavily focused on medications, injections, and surgery. If you do physical therapy for your rotator cuff injury, most physical therapists are unsure of how to properly treat a rotator cuff injury with the goal of avoiding surgery. They’re used to treating people that have already had rotator cuff repair surgery, and that is a completely different shoulder rehabilitation process.
In this video, Dr. David explains all you need to know to understand and begin fixing the root problem of rotator cuff tears for the long-term.

“What is the main cause of a rotator cuff tear?”
“How do you know if you have a torn rotator cuff?”
“What does a rotator cuff tear feel like?”
“What causes rotator cuff tears to get worse?”
“How can I begin to treat a rotator cuff tear at home?”
“How long does a rotator cuff tear take to heal?”
“What will the doctor prescribe for rotator cuff tears?”
“Do I need surgery for a rotator cuff tear?”

Dr, thank you SO much! I feel like I've been to "rotator cuff" school. My left shoulder has been hurting like hell! I did a little research and came across your video. The way you explained everything felt like an honest doctor- patient conversation and not just a UA-cam video.

Ive had chronic shoulder bursitis for years, both shoulders, plus some arthritis in both shoulders and now recently diagnosed with two small rotator cuff tears in both shoulders - they looked just like the partial tear sketch in your video when i saw them on the live ultrasound scan a few weeks ago. Hoping to get sone long-term pain relief and healing and hope to stop this stuff getting worse. Physiotherapist told me my problems have likely been caused through wear and tear and overuse through swimming, plus age related (Im 60 yrs old). I sometimes think too much is attributed to getting older, my parents lived into their nineties without shoulder problems and neither of my two older brothers have these issues. Thanks for uploading this video, you give me hope in getting better.

What are you?!!!!!! No one and I mean no one has ever been able to explain the exact blue print for this enormously common problem! I’ve been suffering for years, been to multiple physiotherapists and they have given me complete nonsensical garbage and only gotten worse! Within 2 minutes of this video I knew you had diagnosed my problem! Thank you! You should be paid 18x your current rate

I wished I had seen your video a year ago. I had a bad fall in early Dec 2022; was told I probably had whiplash. I chiropractor did say he thought something was going on with my right shoulder. The pain radiated along my shoulders, neck, down the outside of my arms; my traps front and back ached at times. I went to my regular Dr.; she just sent me to the hospital therapist. He told me to do all the stretches & exercises you said in your video NEVER to do with rotary cuff tear! No wonder I wasn't healing. I quit doing the exercises & stretches about 2 months of doing them on and off; I would end up in worse pain after doing them. So, I got fed up; discouraged and just quit doing the exercises. I only took walks afteer that. It's been a year now and I'm much, much better. I think in time it'll heal completely. Watching your video pretty much described where I had the pain in my shoulder, and everything I did wrong! Don't exercise a rotary cuff tear, and tendons can heal on their own. I'm not young, I'm 60 and mine healed up by letting it rest, but it did take months. Thanks for the confirmation and advice.

Thank God I found your video. I reinjured my shoulder at work. The same PT gave me the same exercises that he gave me afyer yhe first injury.....which last time made me hurt more! Same thing this time.....his exercises are making my shoulder worse.
He's treating me, like you said, as if I had surgery to repair it and I have not. He's giving me the totally wrong exercises for my situation!!! I knew something was wrong! I will get the book you recommended. I'm sure it will be much more successful at helping me recover!. I'm a RN and don't need to screw my shoulder up worse!

Yes! You are an angel sent to give us real info for healing our precious body. 16 years ago, I suffer a fall and went to treatment. In the last therapy I felt a little uncomfortable, later at home I was screaming with pain. My son had to give me a massage. And suggested me to do what you are describing -more or less, since he studied how to apply massages. Doctor said I needed surgery. Some people suggested me to go through it -FOR WORKERS COMP- I declined it because I thought It wasn’t worth the handicap money. I kept working and just retired this last March.
I am now 78 and even though I haven’t done the exercises religiously, I am really in excellent shape. Yes! You can heal yourself!
From now on, I certainly will follow your suggestions to feel better and better.
    Blessings on your way. Mayu.

Yup, you DO NOT need surgery for rotator cuff tear. I had one. I went to a doctor and he scheduled me for surgery. I was also getting physical therapy, which was not fun. At some point my brother in law, who had written a book called, “Painfree Arthritis”told me to stop the physical therapy and do exercises in a pool. I followed his advice and within a month I was pain free and on my way to a full recovery. I cancelled the surgery!! I’m so glad I did. I spoke to people who had the surgery and most of them had bad experiences!! I was so glad that I had cancelled. Many surgeries are not necessary. These doctors just want to make money. Lots of times people just need to let their bodies heal. It just takes time!!!

I talked it over with my surgeon, and he actually agreed that I should try and rehab it myself before considering surgery.
I want to say I think your videos and presentation are so much better than most on YT, even better than the PT I was referred to.

Thank you so much for this very informative video! I've had two MRIs since 2021 that I could never fully understand, when I researched. Watching your video cleared everything up! With that being said, I'm still so confused on my path forward. I know that you cannot give me medical advise as to what to do, but I'm hoping that you can just clear up which exercises might be good for me to do, as I would love to avoid surgery. Or, perhaps you could do a video that covers the exercises that might be done in a case like mine.
As of now, I'm scheduled for a second opinion because my Orthopedic doctor wanted to do a total replacement surgery. That was so scary at my age (63), so I've opted (pending the other opinion) for Arthroscopic surgery instead, on 7/17/23. My shoulder issue has been going on for about three years. My MRIs show that I have, 1) severe glenohumeral osteoarthritis and moderate acromioclavicular joint osteophytes arthritis, 2) a 2 cm bone spur within the subcoracoid bursa, 3) a partial thickness tear of the supraspinatus insertion superimposed upon tendinopathy, and 4) Small joint effusion; diffuse labrum degeneration or tearing. All other tendons are intact. My pain is mostly when I have to do over the head activities and sometimes hurts at night. I don't have any stiffness that would be associated with arthritis and I walk almost 2 miles a day, with almost no pain.
I just finished about 20 therapy sessions and some of the exercises they had me doing, and instructed me to do at home, are the exact ones you suggest I not do. I've watched lots of your videos on all of these different issues, but I'm confused on the correct things to do or not do, since my problem covers almost all of them. At this point, since I've just finished your videos on labrum tears, I'm beginning to think that maybe I should postpone the surgery and try using the sling, along with some of your suggested exercises. I do have the pulley, so I will definitely start doing more of those. Ironically, my therapist told me not to srugh my shoulder while using it.
My apologies for this long post, and whether you're able to get back to me or not, I really appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to helping all of us. God Bless!

Wow! A complete full class! I wish to have watched this long time ago, I have 1 left shoulder surgery and 3 right shoulder surgeries 2 rotator cuff repair and 1 bicep repair and now it's hurting me very badly and I can't do like "normal" things. It's been so hard to even brush my teeth and take showers, brush my hair even to get dressed to the point where I cry. After my second right shoulder surgery, 2 months after, I went back to my Ortho Dr with a lot of pain and he wasn't there, so I saw another Dr and told me that I had a tear in the bicep and that my Dr supposed to repair it, my husband said that he wanted to charge my insurance separately for each surgery and that sucks because I was in constant pain and discomfort and suffering, so I ended up having the 3rd surgery. Now I probably have to change Ortho Dr. Thank you so much for your video. I'm just thinking that my Ortho probably will suggest a shoulder replacement I'll be 61 next month and I'm not too happy about that. Your video will help me to hopefully make the right choice

Very useful information. Thank you! BTW, people who knit a lot can also experience wrist, elbow and shoulder strain, serious stress, and rotator cuff challenges, especially if they haven't been knitting for a year or so. The motion is the result of repetative stress and twisting the joint, potentially thousands of times a day if knitting a sweater, etc.

Excellent video. Thank you!! I find that using an inversion table is very helpful. I have a supraspinatus partial tear and frozen shoulder. I’ve been following your suggestions and they are working well.

Very informative. Have a much better understanding of the whole issue. Realize I probably do not have as serious a tear as originally thought. Thank you.

❤ this was a very complete and helpful video. Thank you very much. The therapist I worked with had me doing some of those exercises that you mentioned about rotation they didn't help very much. Good work!

Thank you for such an informative video!!! I learned so much and I’m a RN suffering from this problem. It’s been several years I’ve been suffering, and it’s getting worse. I’m glad you stated several times you have to get the root of the problem.

Wow! What an education you provided on Torn Rotator Cuffs. You left no stone unturned. Extremely helpful. I learned more from you than I did from three docs. Now I know what to do, and now I know that I definitely have a partial tear. Love the graphics, the skeletal display, the lighting, the sound, the seamless continuity, and the actual exercise demonstrations. You kept it interesting. You have a thorough command of your profession and also know how to teach. So informative. Kudos.

Unbelievable. Have you bugged my phone.
All what you said is what I'm going through .
The doctor called me this morning. Short call. I did much of the talking. Anyway, he has put me forward for surgery, which I don't want .
My friend is going through all what you've said after her shoulder surgery and as you said, has had to go back for further surgery. She's a mess.
We are both in brutal pain
Thank you for this video. I've been doing all the exercises you demonstrated not to do. I'll stop.
    Many, many thanks.
    I've got a shoulder brace.
Sleep in it and wear it through the day.
    Good job.
I'm writing this whilst listening to you.
    Brilliant information.
I'll practice the pulley, on the door.
    ❤❤
    Very helpful. 👏
