Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

There are managers working at McDonalds who are paid more than our public school teachers. The answer is not to pay those managers less, the answer is we must pay teachers MORE!
We trust teachers with our precious children, so shouldn't they be paid well for such an important job, so that the best and brightest are attracted to the profession?
Why do so many people think that working in a fast food restaurant doesn't require any intelligence? My first jobs were in fast food and it's some of the hardest work I've ever done.
Chik Fil A was my first job, I almost lasted one week before I quit. They had me deboning partially frozen chicken breasts over a sink and clean trash can for 5 hours straight. My hands were raw, sore, and bleeding, and I wasn't given gloves to wear. That's when I quit.
I went to community college and got an Associate's degree in graphic arts so that I'd never have to work in food service again. People who do that job have my utmost respect!

To be fair, I have never had a complete order at McDonald’s that I didn’t have to go back and fix something, not in the last 20 years. I once got a Filet o Fish that was just the bun and cheese. No fish or tartar. You never know how hangry someone is and people say stupid, mean things when they’re hangry. Just ask my hubby😂.

I am 80 years old and not very computer literate so I just surf UA-cam for some humor and came across your channel. I LOVE IT AND YOU! Every video I have clicked on makes me either laugh out loud or scratch my head in wonderment about the craziness going on in the world. Entitled people, Karens, Mother-In Laws, Bridezillas. I've seen things I never thought possible, I've heard things I wish I could unheard. But through it all you have been a charming and thoughtful host. A few times I might have disagreed with your verdict but that's probably because I don't have the same life experiences that you have had. This is a brave new world for me and I'm rather glad that I'm 80 and don't have to deal with all the issues facing you young people. I could go on but this post has gotten to long already so I'll close by saying if I have a choice I would choose the red haired shark over the green dinosaur.

This is probably my favorite comment I’ve seen ❤ the world is crazy, and it’s sad to watch. I love watching older movies from the 50’s and 60’s, because I miss how polite and kind and thoughtful people used to be. There was elegance in how people behaved, and nowadays, it’s almost like a competition to see who can be more rude then the next… I love that you watch her channel, and I think she’s a perfect channel to watch! She gives a window to how the world has become, and handles it with humor and class :) I am sure at 80, you can teach so many of us so many important lessons, and share so many stories ❤ I’ve always wanted more people over 75 to start their own channels, and share videos with their life stories and different moments that meant something special to them… I feel like we could learn SO MUCH from those generations ❤

Can confirm....working as a cashier at a grocery store is one of the worst places to be confronted with unreasonable customers. You can't do anything about it either because you have to maintain composure and be professional. The amount of times I've had people yell at me about the DUMBEST stuff...and you meet lots of nice customers who are regulars too. Most times after someone is upset, inevitably there will be someone else in the line who will come up to me after and say "I'm not sure what that was all about, it isn't that big of a deal"

Well I can have the order standing by so when you come back with the ID you won't have to be concerned with ordering all over again" after he blurted that he didn't have it on him and he needed it from the car. So he said "Alright bye" all fuming, left, and the guy behind him went "I don't know what the fuck was wrong with him, this is a military town." And I shrugged cause eh, worse happened, and he handed me a solid $20 tip in cash after I took his order and he was a veteran too.

Being professional DOES NOT mean allowing yourself to be stepped on. You have every right to refuse service to customers who are being unruly and disrespectful. If there is no decent way to go about it, then just call the police and refuse to engage with them. I've had people try to be disrespectful to me and I've told them calmly "well, now you don't get anything", removed their things from the counter, and told them to leave. They behave that way because of some perceived power over you and because they know you believe there is nothing you can do about it. That's why fast food workers have such a hard time, a lot of them are kids who don't know any better.

I've broken it off with a woman because of how she treated a waiter when we were on a date. It's a major red flag that not only do you think it's okay to demean and belittle somebody over a minor inconvenience but it is so okay in your mind that you have no problem doing it in front of a man you just started a relationship with. If somebody acts like that to a stranger imagine how they will act towards you over something larger.

This is great advice! I hope young folks read what you wrote and take it to heart.
When a date behaves badly towards wait staff and other employees, they've told you all you need to know about themselves. Don't give them a second chance!
If they didn't see their own behavior as churlish and unacceptable, that means they assumed you are also the kind of person who is also thoughtlessly rude and enjoys belittling strangers.
I'd be very offended that they assumed I was such a hateful person that I would enjoy seeing people being disrespected and abused.

Had a similar experience AAAAGES ago in a pub. Nobody used the phone light at that time because it drained the battery like heck. So I had a flashlight in my purse. Someone lost something on the floor, and I shone the flashlight until the item was confirmed not there. Right after some guy came over and started shouting at me to delete the video/picture (too long ago, don't remember), and he would not accept it was a flashlight. Pointing at the floor. In a busy pub. Guy was nowhere attractive to me and only came into my radar as a danger item due to him insisting I took a video/picture of him without consent.
It was a great flashlight with a high lumen count. Sad I lost it at another bar.

The story about the cashier struck a chord with me. I was once a grocery cashier. One day, we had at least one cashier call in sick. Another cashier had to leave early to attend a specialist appointment. There was an attempt made to get another cashier to come in but she didn't want to (fair enough). For whatever reason that day the store was filled with people and it was just myself and one other cashier. Each of us had lines all the way down to the freezers. One "Karen" (this was before "Karen" was a thing) said to me, "I want to speak to a manager!" I turned to her and said "I AM the manager!" (Well, I was close enough to it because I was also worked in the cash office). The she said "No, the MAN MANAGER!" Luckily one of the assistant managers happened by and dealt with her. Other customers were more respectful and asked why the lines were so bad. I said, "Well, the other cashiers are sick or at school." Both of us were doing the best that we could.

How do they not realize that they are being recorded 24/7 when in public, urban settings. I know I'm being recorded, so I behave accordingly.
Mostly I behave as I should, unless I see an opportunity to do something weird for security to find later as they review video.
When my adult son is with me, we might walk into a store like John Cleese in a Monty Python sketch, as "Ministers of the Silly Walk".
One time, my brother and I were in a small liquor store owned and operated by a grouchy old man who hated dogs.
My brother could sound exactly like a chihuahua barking, so he would do that as I yelled at him, "Why did you bring that dog in here? Now look, he had diarrhea all over the floor, we have to leave now!"
We pretended to chase the "dog" out the door as we left the building. Then we watched the furious old guy grab a mop and head for the corner where the non-existent dog "pooped" (but not really).
      We're going to Hell.

Let me transfer you to our manager Mr. Click.” Then the coworker calmly hung up. The room was silent and then burst into laughter. 😂

She didn't like the answer so she kept hurling insults and profanities through the phone. When I finally said to her that I will not accept her language and told her that if she continued I would consider the conversation over and would hang up on her. She continued, and I said Goodbye. I hung up. Went and told my boss that I had hung up on a customer and why, just in case she decided to file a complaint. She said, "Well that sounds like the same woman I hung up on an hour ago. Don't worry about it!"

The cashier could not speak up for herself because she could've lost her job, so I did it for her. The cashier is such a nice, calm lady who works 2-3 part time jobs to pay her bills. Also, if customers are rude to us in person, we are allowed to walk away and get a manager. I refuse to be talked to this way or allow one of my coworkers to be talked to this way. Someone told me it was childish that I told him the can't use profanity on the line as it can't be used for training and they said they should cause I am how not to handle the customer, I told him he has one last chance and he didn't so I hung up.

@@tamamonomae5416 Lucky! I worked at a place where we in customer service were almost always undermined by the higher ups. The worse a client behaved, the more they were rewarded for it. The more extreme the tantrum, the larger the discount that they received.
The only client I remember being fired was a guy who made serious, detailed threats about destroying our building with our patients and us inside. The police were alerted, and we increased security measures.
People threw pens and credit cards at me often enough that I got pretty good at catching them. This isn't because I was terrible at my job. It was actually because I could keep smiling and maintain my customer service voice through pretty much anything. I think they were also amused by the way I handled upset clients: the more irrational or irate the clients became, the sweeter I got. This diffused most situations, fortunately.

I found one of the best ways to diffuse an angry Karen or Daren, just quietly ask them "Are you okay? Do you need to talk?" It almost always stuns them into silence, especially if you say it very quietly and with concern, it's like they don't know how to respond so they just shut down. I have had a few that get pissy about me asking "personal" questions but even they usually just continue on their way without continuing the yelling.
But once I got a bit nervous after confronting a Karen. I had asked a woman if she needed to talk when she was berating a deli worker for not slicing the meat she wanted thin enough, telling her I'm a good listener if she just needed to get something off her chest. She glared at me and got her meat and left. Well, I got the rest of my stuff, paid and went to my car and was loading it when I heard an "excuse me" and turned to see her...my heart dropped, I thought she was going to start yelling at me or worse. But then I noticed she had tears in her eyes and I immediately asked what was wrong. Turned out the meat was the last straw on a horrible week for her and she just let her frustrations out. We sat on the edge of my trunk for about an hour as she told me all the woes she had, and they were pretty intense, won't say exactly what they were but I totally understood why she broke. I listened and let her get it all out. She was crying and I was grabbing tissues for her. I didn't have advice on some of the stuff, but I gave what insight I could and told her that maybe she could look for a counselor, that there were free options if need be, and even helped her look some up on her phone. After a while she thanked me, apologized and we parted on good terms. I have no idea what happened to her after that, but I hope she got the help she needed.

✨The woman on the phone is speaking with a South Midland Accent (SMA), likely Tennessee, Virginias, Carolinas, or Northern Georgia. The Drawl and Cadence comes from the French Settlers of the Appalachians and this accent can be distinguished by every word having at LEAST 2 syllables, adding an R in places it doesnt belong, and sounding polite even when insulting,
-The SMA traveled throughout Texas during colonization and is the foundation of the Texan dialect, but to the South East it was softened and moved to the front of the mouth when mixed with accents of the gulf coast Slaves, Indigenous, and Native Spanish Speakers. This accent can be distinguished by every word being reduced to as few syllables as possible, not pronouncing R at the end of words, and sounds insulting even when polite.
    - But to the North and West of Texas, the SMA was moved to the back of the mouth when mixed with German/ Slavic settler accents. This accent cant be distinguished, they sound like they are speaking another language with a mouthful of marbles, and you have to piece together every third word and hope for the best.
*But yes, it is likely someone with these accents has a pewpew or two, and the laws were they live amount to F Around and Find out.
(I am from Tennessee and moved away to go to Theater/ Film school, where I was swiftly forced into speech classes cause my SMA was so thick people had issue understanding me, and assumed I was dumb because of it. I now live in central Texas, married to a west Texas man, who I often cant understand. My SMA springs up on me when I am around others with a true SMA, when I am drinking, when I am pissed, and when I am dealing with a Karen, cause they sweat when you hit them with a "Bless your heart, if you dont remember your mamas home training, Ill jerk a knot in your tail faster than a knife fight in a phone booth.")

The coffee was incredible and it was only EIGHTY FIVE CENTS. In NEW YORK CITY. I tore him apart verbally until he left. The woman who owned the cafe (and ran it with her sons) thanked me profusely and never charged me after that. Apparently, no one had ever stood up for her before. So, even though she never charged me for my coffee, I would sneak as many big bills into the tip jar as I could afford instead. She never wanted to take my money and was shocked when she caught me leaving huge tips. She wanted to give the money back but I always refused. When I was moving I stopped by one last time to say goodbye. My dad was with me and she started telling him about how he raised a wonderful daughter. A woman standing in a supermarket queue was having her ankles knocked by the trolley behind her which was being pushed by a little girl. The woman asked the mother to tell her child to stop, to which the mother replied, “My child is a free spirit and makes up her own mind about what’s right and wrong.” The knocking against the ankles persisted. When the woman got to the checkout, as she unpacked her groceries, took out her large tub of yoghurt and tipped it over the child’s head, saying to the mother while she did so, “I’m a free spirit too!” The cashier smiled as she knew the “entitled mother and her progeny” well.

Full quote is "customer is always right in matters of taste" and that refers to their personal taste and to buy whatever they want without the staff telling them "you sure? that shirt is ugly" 🙄

Yes, it's about selling what the customer wants. You might think green shirts are ugly, the store owner might think green shirts are ugly. But if green shirts are on trend, that's what you stock in the store. Sell what the paying customer wants, not what you want. Rude people twisted it to get rewarded for rude behavior which gives everyone a bad experience. I wish stores and restaurants would wise up.

Texan here. The last chick was from either Kentucky or Tennessee. There's like 5 or 6 different Southern accents and that sure wasn't Texan.

I'm 4th generation of my family born in Texas, she sounds more Tennessean than Texan to me. I have a very drawly y'ally Southern accent, and to me she barely has a Southern drawl!
Not true that we all have a gun!
      I have THREE. 😜
I have more reason than most people to own a gun, but I rarely use it, and I never carry it off my property.
I'd be happy if I _never_ needed to use a gun ever again. When it's needed, it's never for anything pleasant.
