One day I was exhausted and started crying in a bathroom stall in the office building I worked at, super early in the morning. A stranger from another business in the building came in and, no hesitation, asked if I was okay and if I wanted a hug, and a big long hug was exactly what I wanted, and she held me and soothed me and then I thanked her and we went back to our days. The women's room is a magical place.

I'm not religious, but I'm sure grateful to all the human angels I've met over the years who happened along just when I needed them. Angels do walk among us, and sometimes YOU are the angel who made someone feel loved and cared for.

"I'm a pretty girl." If you truly have confidence and believe you are pretty, you wouldn't need to repeat it out loud over and over.
I don't even think she's particularly pretty. If you asked me to pay attention I'd say yes she's attractive, but pretty isn't the first thing that would come to mind. She's certainly not attractive enough for it to define her entire persona.

Charlotte, I think your definition of "networking" is perfectly spot on. Everybody who goes to one of these events should know that it's nothing more than that : sowing info about yourself and harvesting contacts for future ventures. If, by chance, you also make a friend there, great for you, but don't expect it.

Additionally, businesses can make rules for anyone that isn't 'unreasonable' and can apply to only one person. This is why they can trespass a person for no reason.
Exactly what I thought. Influencing is a job because they earn money, so what made her think that she can piggyback off the people who actually pay rent. About the coffee shop influencer. She’s assuming they are asking only her to stop vlogging. She’s also assuming other customers are vlogging in the shop. If she’s the only person doing it, they don’t need a sign. They also have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

I wonder if it ever occurred to the "coffee shop" girl that the shop might be almost empty a lot of times because of her. Because seriously,. if I go to a coffee shop and upon entering I see some grown ass woman dancing and filming herself, I would just leave. other people being on their phones and laptops is completely different than someone seemingly constantly filming and doing all those movements.

Exactly! My sister is a very popular influencer, has been for quite a while. She started on MySpace if that gives you an idea of how long she's been doing this. She is the most generous, kind-hearted person and I'm not just saying that because she's my sister. They definitely aren't all bad! 💜

I compare that to the time in 1978 when I was 17, about to get on a plane at DFW with the other members of my high school drama club. This was our Senior trip, we were about to spend a whole week in NYC, had tickets to FOUR top Broadway shows (two were Tony award winners). To say we were a very excited group of teens walking to our gate would be an understatement. We probably looked and sounded like a pack of hyperactive spider monkeys!
We reached our gate, and my friend Mike gasped, grabbed my arm and looked like he was going to cry. Then I saw why! There was a Legend sitting there, Broadway royalty, and in 1978 if you asked just about anyone who the most famous Broadway actress is, they'd most likely say, "Carol Channing!! OMG! It's HER!"
She looked radiant, and when our boldest classmate approached her to tell her that we are all drama students who adore her, and want to BE her, she flashed her famous grin and motioned for the rest of us chattering primates to come over. What a brave woman! 😂
She was so sweet! I thought she would tell us to go away, but she asked us what plays we were going to see and seemed genuinely interested. When she heard we would be attending Bob Fosse's show "Dancin'" she beamed. It was her current favorite show, and she's right. It did not disappoint! I still have my t-shirt and Playbill from that show.
For us, Carol Channing was the epitome of class and kindness. I've met a few celebrities since, but none like her. She took time listening to us as if we mattered!
Of course, it's just that the horrible ones usually get more attention. There will always be some bad eggs in the bunch

Super relatable. This one time I was in NYC on the train, and these random people were all like "OMG I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH BEAUTY!" Then a crowd started forming, and I was all "everybody, please! To be completely honest, I find that vlogger's voice grating.

How would she even know if other people were just being allowed to record all over the shop? The owners could very well have said something to anyone else treating it as their personal studio as well. There is a huge difference between videoing a shot of your coffee (do people even do that any more?) and standing up and doing a whole dance. Also, it sounds like she's the sort who hangs out until the last possible minute and has to be told that they are closing down.

So she was mad because they told her to leave and that she can't film there anymore because she was trying to film tiktoks in the Cafe after closing.

She seems unaware of personal/public etiquette and norms. On the other hand, isn't she covered by the constitution and well within her rights to do so? I mean, they can ask her not to film but she's not doing anything wrong or illegal or even against their rules. (I'm not American so don't @me..)

@@hifilofiwifi not really. she can film in the shop until the owner tells her no. people forget that businesses aren't public spaces they're actually private property and you have to ask the owner if it's ok to film. if the owner tells her 'you can't film in here anymore' then she can't film in there anymore and not amount of whining on her part is going to change that.

The owner of the cafe can't just allow people to smoke in their private business because it's expected use is open to the public, right? So, Do other customers ever work in their cafe remotely? Take video calls/zoom or otherwise film while they are there? she's definatly a different type of way than I'm used too or care to encounter but unless its a rule for all, it looks a lot like discrimination to single her out for filming... even if you get second hand embarrassment watching it.

But an influencer using the space as a studio makes people uncomfortable. those are 2 different things, and no, its not discrimination- shes still allowed as a customer. She just can't film for content. Workers are so totally different
So I have a little humming story of my own. I was hang out at a bar and being the slightly anxiety filled being I am, I was just vaguely following along in the conversation and started singing a song under my breath. Turns out I wasn't as quiet as I thought, cause the person next to me started humming along.
Mind you, it was not a common song, so I did end up making a friend that day over shared music tastes.😂

The fact that she thinks being a target only has to do with being pretty😂. I look pretty good when I’m low key done up but quite mid (in my mind) without it. I was once in a Home Depot, in my husband’s ratty old shirt, covered in barnacle goo, hair in a bandana and bare face complete with goggle marks (to protect eyes from said goo) and had a guy hit on me. Criminals target people, not based on looks but more on where they are looking, awareness and all.

The coffee shop girl reminds me of a customer that would frequent my store back when I worked at Starbucks. He had the worst ego, and would do lives in the store in the middle of the day. He’d already been banned from multiple stores in our district, and in others for his attitude. The final straw was when he cussed out my coworker, because she turned the volume up on the music so she could hear a song she liked while sweeping the lobby. I already didn’t like him, but when she came to the back sobbing, that was it for me. I got her to tell me exactly what happened, then I filled out an incident report for her, and the shift on duty called the manager. She didn’t even turn up the volume that much, it had just been a little lower than normal and she increased it to what it was normally at. Every worker in the store had to write a report of the events that happened, so that our district manager could use it to file a police report against him.
The way that we both made the same face when she said pretty girl she’s a pretty girl, but any pretty girl who knows she’s beautiful doesn’t have to keep saying how pretty or beautiful she is lol she had us till then 🤣

okay so basically my parents started their business journey 10 years ago and now they have 3 restaurants and 2 food trucks but both my parents and all 4 of my sisters (including me) still work at ALL PLACES me personally i work 6 out of 7 days so as a congratulations gift for getting into my dream college this year my parents decided to take us on a much needed family vacation which was a cruise. i’m super grateful for my parents hard work to provide us with everything we have and my parents have taught us to never brag or show off what we have and to just live humbly. if im being honest i always thought that was just common sense and that people just knew to do that. so on the cruise i was waiting in line for some coffee and this lady starts talking to me so obviously out of respect i start talking with her and she’s asking me why im here so i explain to her i got into a rlly good college and i graduate in may so it’s a gift and she does “awww that’s cute but that’s kinda useless if your an influencer like me” so i just shake it off and continue waiting in line. the line was super long but i rlly needed that coffee since i was going to study later. and she keeps talking to me about her influencer life and how it’s so difficult and then ask what i do for a living so i tell her i help my family with the business but i plan to study criminal justice and physics and she ends the conversation with a “oh that’s cute you chose the easy route. nepotism at its finest. influencer like me have it so hard creating content 24/7. restaurant life is way too easy.” 💀🔫 mind you this was the first time i’ve seen this lady and i’ve never seen her on ANY social media platforms 😭😭😭 tbh i still don’t know who she is to this day but oh well 🤡

for the VeganRiz girl at the coffee shop... theres a huge difference between someone sat there on their phone doing normal things and maybe snapping a single picture of the food or wanting a video or pic of their birthday get together as a one off AND someone standing up all the time, throwing their hair about, dancing, miming, strutting, and coming back time and time again to film videos... it's a private venue - they dont want to stop people in general using their phones but they do want her to stop using their coffee shop as a personal filming studio
