Bless your heart for all you share! Yet another recipe I can't wait to try! White pepper and jarred ginger on my shopping list. I have everything else! Have an awesome weekend Lisa!
@@Downshiftology I just made this and it's crazy delicious! Yes, the white pepper is a must! But I could kick myself because I was out of onions which I never ever run out of but I had a giant shallot so I used that. I'm serving it with trader Joe's orange chicken. Thank you again Lisa!
Thank you for a wonderful recipe! I just made this for lupper and both my husband and I really liked it! My super market didn't have fresh ginger, so I just added a little sprinkle of the dried ginger - it was still so, so good!!
I happen to have all the ingredients am making this for my work lunch meal prep. Thank you Lisa for your channel and group I have learned so much from you on how to eat healthy and tasty food!
Perfect timing! This fried rice really is the best for lunch or dinner meal prep 😉 And so thrilled to hear you've learned so much from Downshiftology and this community Jennifer ❤️
I just made fried rice the other day. I had leftover rice and chicken. Thanks for keeping it simple! If you want to change it just a little if you make it ahem, add oyster sauce to taste. Tablespoon depending on size if recipe. I love your tips. Thanks
Just made this, and It was so yummy. I prefer this version over the restaurants that i go to because they always put way too much oil and sauce. This is light, and so much healthier. You have become my go to for all recipes as they always come out great, thanks to perfect measurements and explanation in all your videos. Looking forward to purchasing your cookbook. Love your channel!:)) your a delight !
Thank you so much for your video! I used your recipe to make dinner for my mom and sister. But I also added salmon, because I used dried shrimps. It smells delicious! ❤ Isabella
Its interesting, when i was growing up in the UK my family only had ground white pepper, black pepper was new to me when my family moved to Australia when I was a tween! I love white & black pepper for different things.
My son showed me clips of Uncle Roger roasting cooks years ago. Love the references...lol. I make shrimp fried rice once a week. It is quick and easy. Thanks for sharing.
Ooo! Toasted sesame oil! Never thought to add that to fried rice! I keep both light and dark on hand. And there’s nothing like organic Tamari - WAY better than regular soy sauce. Gonna try this tonight. Thank you!
Lisa, This looks soooooo good!!!! Can’t wait to try it out!!! Seems very easy to make!!! I absolutely love your recipes! Can’t wait for your cookbook to come out!
great quick meal! i’m commenting tho to mention that it’s clear you’ve been working to continually improve your delivery. You are sounding more polished (but still super friendly!)
I just got white pepper and I'm using it in everything!!! I also bought a different brand of soy sauce and it has made a SIGNIFICANT different to my cooking. I got a cheap one before and it lasted me two years because it was so salty and bland. The new one I bought was expensive but has so much flavor!!! Ingredients make all the difference when cooking simple
Hi Lisa, Thank you for sharing recipes that I need to keep my auto-immune symptoms under control...as u know is NOT EASY. With your help, organizational skills and expertise, I learned so much from you. I 💕 shrimp fried rice and I can't wait to try this recipe. Again, thank you. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
Wow this looks so good! Just love it and I cannot wait to cook one this weekend. Such a very well prepared and nicely presented video it is. Cheers and thanks 😍
Asian here and I can be very critical when it comes to Asian food (like Uncle Roger 😆). I think the ingredients you used are great and accurate enough, but the way you cooked makes me want to say “Haiya!!!”😂 Fried rice is supposed to be cooked with super fast motion and high heat, especially when you pour liquid ingredients like soy sauce or fish sauce to get caramelized effect. Overall, I would score this cooking 6.5/10. Good job though!
Hi Lisa!! Another amazing recipe I can’t wait to try. Everything you make and share is absolutely delicious. I love your UA-cam channel. Off topic, I have been admiring your nails. Can you please share the brand and colour of your polish. TIA!!!
I absolutely love all your recipes, but this is, by far, my favorite...I LOVE Chinese food and what better than to make it in my home. One question...I eat low fodmap due to Crohn's disease, and those wonderful peas, which I love, I am not able to eat - too fiberous husk, its just too hard to digest for my gut. Same with corn and other cruciferous veggies...a no-no (unless I pulverize in my blender), if I don't want to end up in the emergency room. What would you swap the peas for? Thanks in advance for your suggestion. Be blessed.
Hello Lisa. I love watching your videos because you make every recipe so simple. I have already tried a few of your recipes from your videos. They all came great, i might add. Maybe I have missed here and there but I have noticed that your recipe does not mention the number of servings that it’s for. If you do mention it, my apologies for pointing it out.
Hi Paul - Happy to hear you've enjoyed so many Downshiftology recipes so far 😉 As for the serving amount, you can always find that via the blog post, which is always linked in the video description!
It looks awesome. I sometimes like adding strips of red bell pepper to my friend rice. What kind of rice do you use? You didn't mention that. I like jasmine rice.
2:50 - Hot tip if you make this and the prawn flavour overtakes it: next time add some lemon juice to the prawns and then rinse them, then proceed with the seasoning step.
What's your favorite takeout recipe... maybe I'll make that next?! . :) xo - Lisa
Maybe you can try a healthy version of souvlaki with pita bread but with chicken.✌🏻😉
I love Mongolian beef and Chow fun with and without meat.sooo good
Chinese veggie stir-fry..
Curry 😭😍
Would it be possible to make a healthy General TSO recipe video?
As an Asian, I love your less oily (hence healthier) version of this shrimp fried rice!
Bless your heart for all you share! Yet another recipe I can't wait to try! White pepper and jarred ginger on my shopping list. I have everything else! Have an awesome weekend Lisa!
Don't forget those two ingredients as they help to add flavor to this, especially the white pepper! 😉 Let me know how it turns out Rudy.
@@Downshiftology thank you, I won't leave them out!

One tip I learned from my mom is to put the tamari/ soy sauce directly on the pan so it will get more aromatic before mixing it with rice.
Great tip! Will have to try that next time 😊
Soy sauce tend to stick on the pan, when the oil is too little or the heat is too high.
Shrimp fried is one of my favorite meals to order out. I am looking forward to cooking this myself and can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing!
Excited for you to try this recipe out Kathy! Homemade is the way to go 😉

Great tip on the oyster sauce Loretta. Although, many might contain soy and not be gluten-free - so be careful on which brand you buy!
