Hello friend. I just watched all the battles in this tournament, and I really regret that you lost in this semi final so easily, because it looks like your opponent studied your strategy from your previous battles in this tournament: your strategy is simple: you make your infantries hold the main line, and you use your cavalry and gunners to attack from the flanks and try to pick the valuable units of the enemy like cavalry and the general and axemen etc, but in the first round of this semi finale: your opponent keeped his cavalry at bay and than lured your cavalry and made them chase his cavalry to no avail and in the meantime he made his superior infantry destroy slowly your inafntries line, in the second round: your opponet sacrificed a chunk of his infantries and let them be destroyed by your infantries, and in the meantime: he used a bulk of his army: cavalry, skirmishers etc to hunt down your elephants and general and cavalry. the way I see things is that your strategy is not that bad but it is incomplete: putting your infantries line at shield wall or spear wall formations will hold for some time, but instead of attacking with your cavalry and gunners from both flanks and doing a lot of micro-management: just use all your cavalry and your general to attack from one flank: if your opponent pull back his cavalry: just use all your cavalry and your general to target some of the units of his infantries main line from behind: that will rout some of his infantries units, if he decides to target your cavalry with his cavalry: just pull away your cavalry and try to lure his cavalry and general toward your gunners in that flank. I liked very much the formation of your army in your first battle in this tournament when you played as the Emirate of Granada: you used two infantries lines and you had many units of cavalry including some skirmisheres cavalry: with such large number of cavalry: you can use all your cavalry to target one flank or to targe your opponent cavalry, and you will have the advantage with such big number of cavalry units. also a small suggestion if I may: there will be a huge update for this 1212 AD mod very soon with a new map and new factions and all that: I believe you have done an Abbassid caliphate campaign before with this 1212 AD mod, so when this update comes out: why don't you try one of these hard campaigns eastern factions, like the Khwarazmian empire or the Ayyubid sultanate or the Almohade caliphate, especially the Khwarazmian empire: I would like to see you try to fend off those endless armies of the Mongols hordes invasion, and try to make it a normal explicit campaign, and not a brief narrative campaign like your Abbassid caliphate campaign. and finally, good luck.
Wow thank you very much for the information and help friend! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment :) You are absolutely right with my strategy, I'm still very much a newbie to the mod and also online battles-wise I'm pretty average so I tried to stick to the strategy I know best. I tried to throw him off with the elephants in the second round but you saw how well he countered, he was an excellent player and responded really well to my moves. I hope the 1212 mod gets another update soon, although Its been quite a long time and I haven't heard anything from the devs so I'm starting to get skeptical that we will get the new update. If we do though I'd LOVE to do an Ottoman campaign, Ayyubids would be great too. Love to represent the Eastern factions.
probably he is talking about horse archers and using them as the Mongols and old Turcks used to do, but in these kind of battles: few horse archers units won't make a big difference as skirmishers units, but an entire army of horse archeres: that's another story: they will be very hard to deal with in an open field battle, and you will need a lot of missile units to defeat them.@@Immersaholic
@@Immersaholic the ottoman shock cav is very bad comprised of low level low manpower balkan units, the ottomans rely on their "hybrid" cav , they are very heavy shock cav that just so happen to have bows and at last time i played were extremely powerful
Love the vid, would love more cinematic shots
Thanks mate, hard to do with 1212 since combat is so fast paced but I’ll try my best next time

How so? What cav unit are you referring to? Euros have a large selection of super heavy cav which imo is far more valuable
