    I really like heated apparel since it allows me to stay warm while being stationary for long periods of time.
    I've got a nation of outdoor gear for shooting / fishing which I haven't really got into reviewing for this channel (maybe one day....) since choosing good standard (non-heated) clothing is quite easy once you know what materials and manufacturers to look for.
    In opposition to that, the market for heated clothing is somewhat of a minefield with many of the offerings being poor value at best but some being good value.
    The GOKOSY heated jacket is effective as an artificial down (unheated) coat but when the heating elements are turned on it elevates it to something worthy of serious consideration - this could literally be a life saver, especially over the Winter period in the UK and US since all it takes for a long cold wait in a traffic jam is some penarse who doesn't know how to drive in the snow to cause a multiple car pile-up on a motorway / freeway.
    Alternately the heated coat and gloves are great for every day use and especially effective for people who need to stand or sit still for a long time (e.g. watching outdoor sports, Nature photography) or for people on a diet which has no meat or dairy who don't have any natural resilience to the cold.
    Sadly most people aren't prepared for any sort of cold weather so having some sort of quality outdoor clothing or heated apparel can easily make the difference between being freezing cold or being comfortable.
    I regularly used to feel guilty being the only person in the crowd watching football and being warm and happy but now I feel no guilt. This gear is available at a good price to everyone so comfort is a choice, not a privilege.
    Thanks for watching - see you next time.
    Some of the links above may be to my affiliate programs on Amazon and Ebay so they will throw a few pennies my way if you make a purchase - it costs you nothing extra and helps towards keeping the lights on in my bunker.

    From one "viking" to another. I don't feel the cold much either but I do feel the damp as I get older. Don't think I could stand a heated jacket unless I was out doing nothing at all.

      That's exactly what it is for and the moment you start to get above a normal walking speed in very cold conditions you'll be sweating. For spectator sports, bird watching or just general standing / sitting about in the cold it is great.
      I'm with you on the damp - it gets into all the bones I've broken and all the joints I've dislocated.

      There will be some more give aways after Christmas - this year got away on me a bit and time seems to be getting shorter and shorter. I was going to do a Christmas message video too but that will now be a New Years message, lol

    You dusted the detectors off recently??? Put that coat to the test👍👍👍👍

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  6 місяців тому +2

      I haven't been detecting for a few months and to be honest I'll probably not be making any more detecting videos since UA-cam is now infected with so many fake 'detecting' videos which I don't want to be associated with.
      However, I do take a camcorder with me when I go out and I do record good signals so if I find something exceptional there will probably be a video, lol

    Richard, hands are my problem in winter. Size wise regarding the gloves are they a true size or would you recommend a size bigger?
    Thanks for the video mate.

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  6 місяців тому +2

      I don't have very big hands but they are wide so the size I have is Large and the gloves fit perfectly. I'd say the gloves are a proper size since I would normally get size Large gloves.
      However, the jacket could be classed as 'Asian' size so it is an XXL whereas I'd generally wear a UK / EU Large / 52 coat depending on the style. With any T-shirt / coat / jacket it's generally safe to go a couple of sizes bigger for anything made in China / Taiwan / Vietnam etc.

      With my horrific dad belly you wouldn't even be able to see the trunks unless I had a low angle for the camera.
