    Big thanks to Allpowers for sending me the S700 Power Station.
    I love my S500 Allpowers unit and the S700 makes what was already a great power station even better.
    S700 on Amazon: geni.us/A5ky
    There is an option with that link to combine with a 140W solar panel and that is a great combo.
    S700 + 100W solar panel on Amazon: geni.us/Ac5TGz
    2000W + 100W solar panel on Amazon: geni.us/tR82Bs
    There are often deals available on Amazon for the power station and solar panels but even at the normal selling price you're getting a great deal with this power station. At the time of upload there are awesome deals available which makes acquiring a power station and solar panel a no-brainer for anyone who is even remotely interested in preparing for a grid-down situation or even just for a bit of camping luxury.
    Being prepared for any of the nonsense arising from Agenda 2030 is a great feeling and being energy independent is a huge step toward that - not everyone is willing (or has the ability) to install a proper off grid solar system so this is a great option.

    You have an intelligent and interesting channel. Just for the heck of it throw in a Metal detecting video. Lol. I remember the great finds you’d discover. Greetings from Chicagoland

      I seem to be getting less and less time for any of my hobbies which is a real bummer. However, if and when I make any more detecting videos they will be on my Thousand Yard Stare YoiuTube channel.

      Great stuff - I love having power in storage and the means to generate power when the grid goes down.
      We don't live in the middle of nowhere but the power lines are so poorly maintained now that every time we get a storm we lose power (normally 2-3 times a year).

    WOW. U like these new electronic gadgets. It is really good for those who need it. Making them like coming down from a production line. But hey it's like a condom. Better have it and not need it than not having it and needing it. So I don't have a cabin up north just my house with a backup system and (knock on wood) where I live it's pretty stable. In 3 years only once had about a couple of minutes if that and once just a second of pause. Many things didn't even Zero down. So in 3 years never kicked in the backup system I have. But I think I will test it shortly when the clock goes back an hour in 2 weeks' time around Halloween. That is when I check my fire alarm the batteries and all sorts of things and turn the outside water off etc. Furnace filter change and the whole thing. I do the other in the spring at the same time when the clock goes ahead 1 hour. They are very handy and it's a piece of mind so people don't worry cause they have a reliable backup system. All right good vid Richard! 👍

      You got me there - I do indeed love anything which makes a potential crisis nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
      That's a really good point about testing gear too. Without testing it and knowing how things work, what could go wrong and how to fix it we could be left with a shed or basement full of expensive useless toys when the lights go out.

      @@pondguru I just hope it all works when you really need it. I guess I like a little adrenalin in my life too. Not those that I can't fix or overcome easily. Also, I use to bad mouth those dooms day people and how they prepared way back even those who build a bomb shelter (Here in Canada thousands of kilometres from anything and one of the most peaceful countries in the world that even took in former Nazis as it showed when Zelenslky was here LOL. But you get my point. So I have a different view cause not only those things but natural disasters. OK other than a big snowfall or very colt temp maybe an Ice storm nothing really ever happened here by Toronto. The point is it's simple. Better to have a condom and not need it than to need it and not have it. Americans would say those same things only they replace the condom with a gun. (OK I got this from the Movie quote: Predator vs. Aliens. In the movie when on the Icebreaker the blond chick soldier told the black chick guide. yeah, with the gun)But again who am I to judge? Thanks again, Richard!

    Hi again great video, you never said the cost.

      In the review videos I generally won't mention the cost and that is intentional since the price varies all the time - that's why I just put a link in the video description and pinned comment. I've just checked that and it's currently £549 but there is a 45% off voucher on Amazon (probably for black Friday / week or cyber Monday / week)
      That makes it a great deal and I'm guessing there are similar deals for the solar panels which are very good quality.

    Hi Richard, i have the s1500 model i'm just wondering if you know if these will continue running my filters and wavemakers while its charging up / plugged in, ideally for up to a week. Obviously im just being cautious as power outages can happen so if i run them on this with it plugged in and there was a power cut, would it then just continue to power them from the battery automatically?

    • @ThousandYardStare
      @ThousandYardStare 2 місяці тому

      (my other channel) This works for me while plugged in to the mains supply or charging from a solar panel. If the grid fails then you will be able to run your filter and wave makers but the time they will run will depend on the wattage of them. If you have the 1500 version then that will keep the filter running for many days no problem - I wouldn't bother with the wave maker. Keep it simple if the mains goes off since the essentials are way more important than running luxury applications.

      Thanks, yeah just I have an African cichlid tank so try to create as much surface agitation as possible for plenty oxygen as you will know these guys behave a bit better when a bit overstocked, however the filter outlet flow also creates some agitation on the surface too.

    Could I run a 1kw portable aircon unit with this?

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  8 місяців тому +1

      Definitely not - If the unit is 1kW that is 1000W battery power station is only rated up to 700W.
      Although it will cope with a 'surge power' of up to 1400W that would be for a very short time and a constant load of up to 700W is all that will be supported by this unit.
      Battery power stations aren't designed to be used with heavy loads since the stored power will drain so quickly - for example if you have a power station rated for up to 1000W and you plugged in a 1kW (1000W) aircon unit you'd only get around an hour of use from the power station - for heavy loads you'd be much better off with a small petrol (gas) generator. I have a 2kW petrol generator for heavier loads but for general use during power cuts I just use the battery power stations.
