The concert in August in August was terrible. People were leaving all the time. Pay $350.00 for a close seat and only 1 song people liked at the end. You mix stuff up. A new song then an old song. The only nice thing about the concert was I got to go in first because I had a broken leg and hand and had a walker.

When Joe went to Greece and Egypt this year,

Wow this is s strange fanbase with bizarre sycophant vibes. Some UA-camr did a video that Joe got off social media because he was getting abuse. But then went on to say how in the past Joe has used his legions of fans against people and companies. I not involved in that BS, making comments in a UA-cam section is the extent of my social media. And Joe is an amazing player. But scrolling thru these comments does have a weird almost cultish feel to them. If it were one or two comments it would be endearing but one right after the next feels either fake, edited or downright bizarre
Yikes! I've seen many criticisms of Joe, but never a blanket criticism of his fans...of which I am one. Gosh, I never thought I was fake or edited.....occasionally one of my comments might disappear for an unknown reason, but none was ever edited except by me. Like you, my only social media participation is making comments on UA-cam. Maybe that makes me bizarre, LOL. But, hey, I can't speak for everybody. One of my hobbies is reading comments on different musicians' channels, on cooking channels, and a few other channels on UA-cam, and I would say that nearly every channel has a loyal fanbase, but also several detractors. Seems to be a common theme, and Bonamassa's channel is no different.

@@M._Lou hmm,, I like cooking too. I didn’t mean it a criticism of an entire fanbase but I guess that is how it came off. I am a fan of Joe as well but loosely. I admire his playing and his guitar collection and I love how he rolls. He rents the hall, takes the tickets etc. He bucks the man and I like that about him. But these comments are uncommonly glowing. I realize each channel will have its fans and detractors but his fans are particularly effusive in their praise. Almost strangled so, as in overly descriptive in there praise one after the next. It’s seldom just a „nice job bro“ but goes on in a way that it’s almost like the person is trying to sell him to you. It’s not the amount of nice comments but the overly descriptive way that one right after the next is up there. Just scrolling thru reading it did. jump off the page to me
The video is a short retrospective of Joe’s work during the year, not a new performance. In posting such a retrospective, Joe was communicating directly to his fans, not entertaining them as such.
The fans responded accordingly, spoke directly to Joe himself....many times addressing him by name.
So of course they expressed their appreciation by *_complimenting_* him. That's what people do when they want to commend someone for a job well done (referring to Joe’s hard work during the year).
