This guy stuns me. He plays basic blues stuff then suddenly explodes with pentatonic licks that just tears your head off! He never overplays those fast passages and he plays modal and whole tone sounds but never lingers there. He always centers back to the Blues. He is a blues player but has knowledge much beyond.

It blows my mind how many haters there are. They go as far as to call him talentless and boring.....I just do not get this. The live performances he and his bands put on are incredible. How fulfilling it must be to attend a concert where everything is live...in the moment..and real! No autotune, no lip syncing...no distractions..just pure musicianship.. delivering it as it is! JB is a guitar god! The band is always top of the line for him too!

That is some killer guitar tone.
Ever sense I saw this video, i have researched how to get that tone for sooooo long. I eventually got it with a rat with a tube screamer into the front which is similar to what he has here. A tube screamer into a warm overdriven Marshall

@@mortenbrixpedersen2964 Stage lights hurts his eyes. HIs statement not mine. Happens to a lot of performers. I think Roy Orbison was the first one I saw wear dark glasses on stage. Lights hurt his eyes too.
What I love about Joe's live performances is how you can see he truly loves to play that instrument. You see the joy in his face and the way he smiles when the drums are kicking them back into the main riff. He's just a guitar nerd who loves what he does and is dedicated to the craft.

I saw JB in Nashville 08/10/18. He played for about 2 hours. Was just the most beautiful guitarist I have ever seen since Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton. All of these guitar living legions that will last a lifetime, Joe is already a great legacy this latest album is the best I have ever heard. Have a great day and make sure you hear Black Coffee, with Beth Hart. The perfect match.
