Yesterday I watched the documentary "Joe Bonamassa: Guitar man" on Belgian television. My first encounter with this musician and his music, but man WOW I loved it. Mr Bonamassa, you've got another fan for life!!! Therefor it was a great disappointment today to find out that this evening JB was on concert in Ostend, just a 130 km from my home, and I couldn't attend that. Hopefully you'll return to Belgium in the near future and then I will definitely be there! Mr B, thanks for your superb music, love it!!!
All of our pains. Blues is a sort of medicine. Peace to my brothers and sisters carrying their pains around. We all have our different shades of blues. Much love ❤️
Im 52 years old.. Avid musician.. This man is absolutely the most talented guitarist ive seen.. Heard.. Watched.. Studied.. I knew he was a freak of nature when he was a youngster.. But watching his vocals develop ? Wow.!! Im so glad he didn't sell out to the evil empire.. Ive seen haters comments.. Why? I guess jealousy.. Hes the real deal.. Go Joe!!!!!
Your exactly correct, these days people hate pure talent and Joe is absolutely a true artist no need to loop our distort his voice, simply the best guitarist of our times. He’s under rated because an independent artist and think god for that.
Easily one of the best guitarist on the planet. A mix of S.R.V. , BB King and Eric Clapton all in one. Vocals are very clean and on key. What's not to enjoy. A master blues guitarist and vocalist. Ya'll enjoy !!!!!
Stevie Ray Vaughn, RIP. Is it just me? Or can anyone else imagine Vaughn and Bon ripping it up together.... Siiiigh...the dreams of a Blues Woman....Truly, JB is one of the best guitarists that has ever been on this planet.
While watching WTTW on Sunday morning and reading the paper, I suddenly heard this music and had to do a double take. For a minute there, I thought I had died and gone to heaven and was surrounded by Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters and BB King. I would have been willing to bet all of my wages that no one with a guitar could have affected me this way. I could not stop dancing. Joe's music went to my soul, like no other has since days of My Favorite Blues Singers, most of who have gone on to Blues Heaven, except for Mr. BB King, King of Blues. So glad Bonamassa met BB.
My husband listened blues radio here in Finland. There were something so familiar, something agent, something today, and the singers voice is known but much more mature. Said to to him " its fresh, old and sounds like Joe Bonamassa and i was so happy, when he said, yep it was Bonamassa!
Joe--what a great treat and honor to have you in the world of the Blues! We need representatives like you! And others of course. Thanks for what you do!
Man this hits home so hard. A year an a half ive been healing day by day.. she left outa the blue an tore me in half. Ive carried this hurt down deep trying to act like im fine. Sometimes a song like this gets me threw another day an a step closer to a peace ive been walking towords.. ty joe for sharing ur talent.. u help so many with what u do.
Have seen many of the greats in concert from Hendrix to BB King, and Muddy Waters. It's been a long time since I have been as impressed as I am by Joe Bonamassa. Thank you Joe and please keep them coming!

Joe is not only a great guitarist but has a great voice too! Definately a man with the best of both worlds! I liked this song the first time I heard it! Everything he touches turns to gold! Thank you for the "fresh" sound. Reminds me of Roy Buchannan!
Hello 👋 Donna. How are you doing? Hope you are fine, I'm Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where you are from? You seem like a real country girl
Absolutely masterful! Joe Bonamassa is probably the best bluesman of my era. Can probably hang with the legends too. For some reason this song reminds me of Gary Moore's Parisienne Walkways.
I know. I've seen his interview persona and it's completely different from the Joe we see on stage. The Joe in the perfectly fitted suit, hair slicked back, and those sunglasses; he's one sexy dude; he's doing what he does best and what he likes to do most. And he's lucky because it pays very well and he's certainly paid his dues. Some of us are destined to do the more menial jobs in society like being a RN. We're just glad that there are people like you, Joe, who make great music that we can listen to when we get home from work, etc. and you're worth every dime they pay you, probably more.

His tribute to Gary Moore was moving to me! "Still got the blues" lead break set my attention towards Bonamassa style guitar playing. Very vocal phrasing and staccato style leads.🎨
The precision he plays and sings eith is amazing, considering how complex his songs and performances are... I just wish I could afford to see him live....an old rocker can die happy..
It makes us feel better because its real . Truth be told we all have had bad days or our heart broken. The blues just tell the truth about how we are feeling
Joe this is what I love about you. Balls to the Walls Blues. I have been a Blues fan for many yrs. There are people that say anyone can paly the Blues. I beg to differ.... That is not true. Ok sure people can play the blues that don't normally play it. But They can be seen for that.If they don't feel it and it's not in your soul Then no they can't feel it and its not true Blues. As so many of your songs...this one Blows me away ! Have seen you 3 times.1st time was Bluesmoore in Cedar Rapids Iowa .Then Riverfront @ Milwaukee. Then Davenport @ the Adler. I absolute love your style...... Truly love knowing that we are Blessed for having Bluesman and True Musicians like you. Blues will NEVER die as long as we have men like you keeping it Alive .I was truly disappointed at Bluesmoore this past yr. We had 20 yrs. of Blues Artists coming there to have a wonderful day of Blues being played there at The Mansion. Folks chose to stop having Bluesmoore there which was crying Shame ! So us as Blues Freak's...have to keep playing and listening getting out there as much as we can. Love you Joe.....
+hellavadeal Because the Origin of Blues music is actually Slave music and it was sang to make the poor feel better by being honest through music, the trouble, they were going through; the first Blues musicians didn't even know anything about music Theory, but they could sing their Butts Off. Later when Blues was Introduced to the Electric Guitar, it went Viral, People like Clapton and Richards, became friends with people like BB king and now it's considered "The Roots of American Music "
+Bigdee One of the great things about music is you don't have to know anything about music theory to make it work. I know a ton of people who don't understand a whole note from a quarter note, but they can play the hell out of a guitar, piano, whatever. All they have to do is hear it. Or...hear it in their head, and then they've created their own tune. I have no idea when "music theory" even became a term, but I know mankind, and even nature, has been making music from day one. And, to me, someone who can play by ear is much more impressive than someone who understands how to read music and just follows what's on the paper. We do that to our youth, and that's when the music seems to lose that little something extra. They playing all the right notes. But they're not FEELING and EXPRESSING all the right notes in all the right ways. There wasn't much music education in the school systems in the rural south in the 40s, 50s and 60s. And, of course, before. People were just trying to get the next meal on the table. The great majority of the rural areas were impoverished. My parents, for example, were sharecroppers coming up. I find myself today drilling my mom about the proper way to kill and cure a hog, just in case things get ugly in my lifetime. I have plenty of relatives with cattle. Plenty hunt. I can hunt. I just got burned out on it before I finished high school. Ditto fishing. When that's all you have to do for ten years, you kinda get enough. I do need to ask her about processing milk after you've milked a cow or a goat. Even though the feds have made it illegal to drink milk now unless it goes through an USDA approved facility. Pfffft. I'm sick of the feds. And that's why things might get ugly one day. Anyway, I done got off on a rant that has nothing to do with this awesome music we're all enjoying. Sorry about that. Sometimes it just spills over. And that's OK. That's what music is supposed to do. Make you "feel" something. It worked. eheh Later. Visualize whirled peas.
Mr Bonamassa. I listened to different shades of blue, wow dang it sure hit home. I played it 23 times in row. Got out my guitar and learned it. This has to be in the top two hundred of your songs I listen to. I think you have a hit. Keep playing and singing and I will listen. Thanks mr joe. You are great.
Heard this on Radio 2 one day last week and now hearing it everyday so far on there. Why didn't I know about Mr Bonamassa sooner? I've liked Eric Clapton and Gary Moore all these years, actually thought it was Eric Clapton, sorry Joe, or is that a compliment?! Love It!
I'm a very close friend of Walter Trout Jon...but it's been yrs since we have been close..your Blues touch my Soul ...& my love will always be with Walter & the Blues..go on man ..you are loved 💙✌💜😁
Hello 👋 Susan. How are you doing? Hope you are fine, I'm Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where you are from? You seem like a real country girl
This is on point. Sometimes it helps to see the world through another's eyes. I know well about having nothing. All my life I've tried to help others when they needed someone. Now I'm 49 years in, and back to where it all began, with nothing except some good memories and great music burned forever into my mind. Y'all keep putting out the tunes and maybe it will keep me alive for another day and maybe I can make someone else's life better once again. I live for this.
I may have missed Beethoven, Jerome Kern, George Gershwin and so many other Musical Greats, but at least I got so see The Beatles TWICE and I get to hear and see Joe Bonamassa whenever I want, so yeah, I am blessed.
I wish I could know him personally, every interview I've seen him in he sounds so personable. Like he's just one of my buds growing up. Oh,and there's that hole guitar thing. We've lost to many, stay safe JoeB and thank you.
Where have you been all my life Joe, feels like my soul just opened up again, you sing the pain I have had in my heart... the music is what I needed... sooo sooo much needed.. hope concert comes close enough to New Hampshire so I can find a way to get to one, must .. must.. MUST SEE YOU IN CONCERT.. last 10 yrs written on my face... may my wish come true.. cannot wait to get lost in the sound of your songs!!!
Hello 👋 Linda. How are you doing? Hope you are fine, I'm Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where you are from? You seem like a real country girl
I've heard of the guy and knew that he was a badass guitar player but I didn't hear his music until tonight and WOW, what a find! He's awesome and such a tasty blues player! I'd rank him right up there with the greats!
I've recently gotten hooked up by Blues. It feels bad man, when you get that impression you've been living under a rock for so long that you missed on things so great. Joe clearly is "The Shit". Capital T Capital S. No question.
Different shades of blue is still an awesome album from Joe. Great singing and wonderful guitar-solos on it! 3 years old but still fresh as from yesterday. You listen Joe, you can't get tired to do it. Many thanks Joe for all this great music you share with us!
Joe is a cut above, the real deal. -Not only one of the great guitarists of the decade, but he has incredible singing chops as well. His own compositions are superbly unique and his "tributes" are always respectful and spot on.
This is Mary Thom,,,, I met Joe, when he was just getting Big,2012... I said to him, your gonna be real famous one of these days, 3 years Later look where he;s at!!! your fantastic Joe,!!!
+Jimmy Elaian : Joe's been ripping it and hearing the same accolades since he was 11 years old in Junior High School, which is when he first jammed on stage with BB King. He's been a blues guitar phenom since the mid-80's.
ahhhhhhh!!!!!!! amazing solo!!!!!! it made me cry!!!!! man you came to save the blues! since SRV the world don't have a guitar player like you, thanks for existing!
***** So 2ds and 6ths scare you huh? He could be messing around with modes all the afternoon and still be improvising with succes over a blues track. Also, Bonamassa considers himself a Blues-Rock guitar player but those of us who have heard him jamming blues can deffend his title of "blues guitar player" with more arguments than you. And the "whiteboy contemporary blues" is an odd thing to say, as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Jeff Healey, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Paul Kossoff, Gary Moore, Jimmi Page, Billy Gibbons, Rory Gallagher and Duane Allman were "contemporary blues whiteboys" in their times and I belive they deserve a little bit more than the childish category you made.
Redemption grabbed me but then this showed up and I've been hooked on Joe ever since. One of the strengths I think he has is to evolve so the music isn't stuck in one spot like so many other artist have happen to them.
Heard this once and knew that yet once again, Joe is at his best, doing what he loves most. We just happen to be the lucky ones his star is shining on. Keep on shining Joe.
Love the new song! Definitely something a little bit different from what Joe has been producing of late. Nice example of his continued gradual maturity and growth as a phenomenal musician!!
Like this even better than Oh Beautiful! Nice to see that beautiful Guild 12-string used so deftly! Can't wait for the whole album... more sneak peeks, please! Regarding comments about song-writing...that's a touchy subject. Either a song speaks to you or it doesn't. Yes, you can go to school and write a technically 'good song', but there are plenty of great songs I flat don't like. I've heard Joe talk about his process, and based on what he said, which is that he "writes to order" (When the Fire Hits the Sea, for example), it sounds to me like an entire album of his originals might have transcended that process and gone to another level. The range just comparing Oh Beautiful! to this song is vast. Like another commenter said, he's still a young man. He'll keep growing for as long as he lives. And because a song doesn't speak to someone doesn't make it bad. It just forces them to form an opinion! :-)
Grabs and pulls straight in from first chord. Pulls straight into JB's heart. This song has profound words. As someone who has suffered with depression a long time plus the ups and downs of life ive been many shades of blue. This is a masterpiece the whole thing! Love the music video always love these.💙🧢❤🦁☮️
So I have the album and I've listened to it many times over. All of the songs are great, but my favorites would have to be Different Shades of Blue, Heartache Follows Wherever I Go, Get Back My Tomorrow and So, What Would I do. Love the last one. I can't wait to hear Joe play all of these, as well as his older stuff when he gets to London (Ontario) next year.
It's very hard to not have heard of Joe Bonamassa. His computer commercial saturation and music shop avaiIability gave me the HARD SELL impression. I think that is why I have never listened to him. UNTIL NOW. A friend, who is a brilliant guitarist, compared him to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Once that was done, it was impossible for me not to listen to the man. I am glad I did, although I disagree with the S.R.V. comparison. I will not insult Joe Bonamassa or his fans, but nobody compares with S.R.V. I am kicking myself for taking so long to listen to Joe Bonamassa.
all my life , as long as I can remember , I've been thinking there couldn't be a song more lyrical and touching and affecting than ''Esterday'' and ''Eleanor Rigby'' . But now , oh , Lord forgive me , I find.Beautiful song !!!
Hello 👋 Elena. How are you doing? Hope you are fine, I'm Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where you are from? You seem like a real country girl
I have seen Joe in concert several times and trust me, he is even better in person. Do yourself a favor and see him when he comes to your town, you will be hooked.
From one nerd to the king of the nerds. Nice playing Joe. It's because of you I still play every day of my life, and now always will till I can no longer pick up my axe. I will never be as good as you Joe, but catching uo
The sun's been shinin' down on the day and night Gettin' away with murder, livin' a lucky life All good things finally come to an end Hit ya like a train if you try to pretend Everybody knows that she broke your heart Everybody knows that it's been tearing you apart The boat you've been sailin' on has sprung a leak You won't admit, but it's down to make you weep When you got nothing left to lose Might sound good, but I'm not sure that's true You carry the pain around and that's what sees you through The different shades of blue Tell by the way you hang your head The way you cast your eyes and the things you haven't said You've got the past ten years written on your face Your whole damn life's been one big race Everybody goes there whether they want to or not Everybody starts to hold on to what they got And start to settle in with the long haul? Real life baby, oh you can't have it all When you got nothing left to lose Might sound good, but I'm not sure that's true You carry the pain around and that's what sees you through The different shades of blue When you got nothing left to lose Might sound good, but I'm not sure that's true You carry the pain around and that's what sees you through The different shades of blue
Love the studio takes with Joe and that he stays firm with the bluesy tunes. The 12-string, the Stratocaster, the Les Paul, the singing. Beautiful. I prefer "Shades of Blue" before "Shades of Grey"...:) #joebonamassa
Oh god your beautiful voice the super beautiful instrument sounds ... yes I am always falling in love with you again ... "Different Shades Of Blue" is one of my favorite songs besides countless others
My mother was killed by step dad, and my brother lost a battle with heroin. I found you sir. And haven't let go. I love the blues now, and Sir I love you for letting me get through this with your music

I've been listening to the Blues for 45 years. Joe Bonamassa has developed into the best I've ever heard. This album is gonna be fantastic!

Come on, that tone and that solo is SO Gary Moore. It sounds so fucking good.
I also immediately thought of Gary Moore when I heard this. But Bonamassa misses the intensity of Gary's singing.
How can one be such a great guitarist and vocalist at the same time?
Seriously how do you possibly dislike this ? Thank you mister Bonamassa you brought the power and the soul together on this without any seams.
Power and the Soul ---- MAN !!!! That is it EXACTLY !

It worked. eheh
Later. Visualize whirled peas.
+Bigdee I forgot to include this in my last post. I think you'll like it. :)

Because its a very emotional and spiritual type of music?
+hellavadeal Because there's someone else out there singin' the same tunes as you. And I'm not talking about songs
Я с тобой .
I may have missed Beethoven, Jerome Kern, George Gershwin and so many other Musical Greats, but at least I got so see The Beatles TWICE and I get to hear and see Joe Bonamassa whenever I want, so yeah, I am blessed.
Я наслаждаюсь вашей музыкой , спасибо вам за это ...
This touches the depth of my soul. Dealing with a loved one with cancer.
Some deep, intense, intelligent riffs goin on here. Loved it.
Perfect blend of electric and tinge of acoustic...not to mention backing vocals...ah an those keys... splendid Joe
My absolute favorite singer/guitarist, or guitarist/singer.
Super-song and no more words needed , i just want to hear it again !!! much love to all !!!
This man is an absolutely amazing artist and I look forward to hearing more albums to come!
I wish I could know him personally, every interview I've seen him in he sounds so personable. Like he's just one of my buds growing up. Oh,and there's that hole guitar thing. We've lost to many, stay safe JoeB and thank you.
joe the very best!

Hello 👋 Linda. How are you doing? Hope you are fine, I'm Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where you are from? You seem like a real country girl
Oh wow, such a talented guitarist! Absolutely love it!
Wonderful first JB track I ever heard changed my life followed him since seen him live twice brilliant.
@linda hello, how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
I've heard of the guy and knew that he was a badass guitar player but I didn't hear his music until tonight and WOW, what a find! He's awesome and such a tasty blues player! I'd rank him right up there with the greats!
same things
He is One of the Greats , I believe he opened for BB King when he was 12 , the King thought he was special then, and most think he is special now.
me too

I've recently gotten hooked up by Blues. It feels bad man, when you get that impression you've been living under a rock for so long that you missed on things so great.
Joe clearly is "The Shit". Capital T Capital S. No question.
Different shades of blue is still an awesome album from Joe. Great singing and wonderful guitar-solos on it! 3 years old but still fresh as from yesterday. You listen Joe, you can't get tired to do it. Many thanks Joe for all this great music you share with us!
The whole song is great, but the solo at 3:00 is just amazing O.o
Joe is a cut above, the real deal. -Not only one of the great guitarists of the decade, but he has incredible singing chops as well. His own compositions are superbly unique and his "tributes" are always respectful and spot on.
I heard this on our local radio station today and had to look it up. I swore it was Gary Moore. Really great sound, Joe. Love it!
Truly a gem of a song. My thoughts with words have been taken straight out of my mouth. Just love it!.
Spot on.
'Bout right!
True, and he is playing with SRV's keyboard player. Reese Wynans. 2:54.
And the "whiteboy contemporary blues" is an odd thing to say, as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Jeff Healey, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Paul Kossoff, Gary Moore, Jimmi Page, Billy Gibbons, Rory Gallagher and Duane Allman were "contemporary blues whiteboys" in their times and I belive they deserve a little bit more than the childish category you made.
gary Moore "Cough" "Cough"
Redemption grabbed me but then this showed up and I've been hooked on Joe ever since. One of the strengths I think he has is to evolve so the music isn't stuck in one spot like so many other artist have happen to them.
You've taken your Music to new levels, time and time again ,the ride as a fan is better than good, Cheers.
Heard this once and knew that yet once again, Joe is at his best, doing what he loves most. We just happen to be the lucky ones his star is shining on. Keep on shining Joe.
HELL YES
BACK TO THE BLUES JOE!!!
Wow...
I just can't belive that some people don't admire this kind of musician...
Love the new song! Definitely something a little bit different from what Joe has been producing of late. Nice example of his continued gradual maturity and growth as a phenomenal musician!!
This is one of my favorites. Redemption and Different Shades of Blue are the 2 songs that hooked me and then down the rabbit hole I went. ❤
spot on Murphala every song hits a spot in us its either a hit or a miss
I first heard Joe on Bob Harris radio 2 seventeen years ago . This guy just gets better , whispering Bob thank you .
joe just keeps on giving and giving sure fixes me up when i get the blues
Grabs and pulls straight in from first chord. Pulls straight into JB's heart. This song has profound words. As someone who has suffered with depression a long time plus the ups and downs of life ive been many shades of blue. This is a masterpiece the whole thing! Love the music video always love these.💙🧢❤🦁☮️
I think this blues music, especially this song "different shades of blue " is like salve for the soul .
Hello 👋 Carolyn. How are you doing? Hope you are fine
I found a little bit of Still got the Blues+Hotel California+Creedence in this awesome song! greetings Bonamassa: I really enjoy your music.
Yep, spot on ! :) a bit
"Don't Dream It's Over" as well on the keys' line ;-)
Nice inspirational mix anyway !
Yes! I know exactly what you mean!
I get a Jeff Healy vibe
The Man and his music !
Something new from Joe . . .
Looking forward to getting the album . . .
all my life , as long as I can remember , I've been thinking there couldn't be a song more lyrical and touching and affecting than ''Esterday'' and ''Eleanor Rigby'' . But now , oh , Lord forgive me , I find.Beautiful song !!!
Hello 👋 Elena. How are you doing? Hope you are fine, I'm Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where you are from? You seem like a real country girl
Never heard of him, (why??) until a live concert on PBS recently. So, He's coming to San Antonio, and I've got my tickets! Can't wait!
@sharon hello, how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
I have seen Joe in concert several times and trust me, he is even better in person. Do yourself a favor and see him when he comes to your town, you will be hooked.
Kevin Shirley. Keepin' the blues alive.
From one nerd to the king of the nerds. Nice playing Joe. It's because of you I still play every day of my life, and now always will till I can no longer pick up my axe. I will never be as good as you Joe, but catching uo
Keepin' the blues alive.
Joe knows my heart and soul, and pours it out with every song
The sun's been shinin' down on the day and night
Gettin' away with murder, livin' a lucky life
All good things finally come to an end
Hit ya like a train if you try to pretend
Everybody knows that she broke your heart
Everybody knows that it's been tearing you apart
The boat you've been sailin' on has sprung a leak
You won't admit, but it's down to make you weep
When you got nothing left to lose
Might sound good, but I'm not sure that's true
You carry the pain around and that's what sees you through
The different shades of blue
Tell by the way you hang your head
The way you cast your eyes and the things you haven't said
You've got the past ten years written on your face
Your whole damn life's been one big race
Everybody goes there whether they want to or not
Everybody starts to hold on to what they got
And start to settle in with the long haul?
Real life baby, oh you can't have it all
When you got nothing left to lose
Might sound good, but I'm not sure that's true
You carry the pain around and that's what sees you through
The different shades of blue
When you got nothing left to lose
Might sound good, but I'm not sure that's true
You carry the pain around and that's what sees you through
The different shades of blue
Amazing vocal Joe ....no shit . Guitar was amazing as always ..Thx man .
I just love his music. Boy can sing too :)
The best I've heard him do in years hes been a rut this is a breakout.he sounds so much like garey Moore here
Awesome. Just bought the album. Guitar practice is going begging this afternoon and some listening in a dark room is occurring instead.
Love the studio takes with Joe and that he stays firm with the bluesy tunes. The 12-string, the Stratocaster, the Les Paul, the singing. Beautiful. I prefer "Shades of Blue" before "Shades of Grey"...:) #joebonamassa
That's the blues 2.0! And I love it! Thank you Joe.
Oh god your beautiful voice the super beautiful instrument sounds ... yes I am always falling in love with you again ... "Different Shades Of Blue" is one of my favorite songs besides countless others
