Secondary Glazing is a very effective, quick and inexpensive way of achieving noise insulation. This video clearly shows 3 basic principles in simple demonstrations:
- a Secondary pane with an air gap reduces onward sound
- a deeper air gap is more effective than a shallower one
- the thickness (and therefore mass) of the Secondary pane also reduces onward sound
