Surely it would be much easier to put tapes together magnetically before cutting and then placing the complete strip on the glass? Then offer the pane up to window frame as is done with non kit units😯
Another top tip. At one end of each of the four strips pull about 10cm of the backing tape round to the front of the pane and fasten a piece of sellotape onto it, as a pull tab. Otherwise when the pane is offered to the window you cannot get hold of the top of each strip to pull it off!!

Great idea, thinking of buying very soon. But what about the window handles on those windows that open?

Wow what agood idea much better than the plastic window film I use every winter in my bedroom. This is much better as you still have access to open the window if needed. So, how long do the panels last, please? and wants the standard thickness most people buy? After time, will the magnetic tape stop working? Cheers

What about the windows with handles on? Does it work with them, I notice you've left that small window out here.

Of course. The magnetic strip fits to the window by being sticky, plastic or uvpc windows are not magnetic.

I don't understand the point of magnets. Why not just use timber beading & screw them in place...it's not like you need to take them off more than once or twice a year.

Because it's meant to be versatile and damage free and maybe only needed in the colder months.

A bit of an ugly solution, better to use u channels in the frame and place the polycarbonate sheet within them
