  • It might be frosty outside but the British wild is still full of amazing ingredients and flavours. In this video, our expert forager, Vix Hill-Ryder, guides you through a chilly closed graveyard in Cornwall to find the best foraged greens for a delicious and nutritious wild food dish - nettle spaghetti!
As our January episode, this may be appropriate as an 'first episode' of sorts since this month is a great time to get out into the hedgerow and begin learning about the year's seasonal growth. Books are a great guide but, because of our changing climate, it's best to go outside and get exploring yourself!
As always, we adhere to a strict set of ethics when foraging. Never over-foraging while making sure to pick in such a way that minimises impact on the environment. During the filming of this episode, we paid absolute respect to each grave, taking care to never step on or compromise a stone. We ask and hope that, when endeavouring to forage yourselves, you give our British wild the same consideration, as well as only foraging in closed graveyards.
    --------------
We don't want to let lockdown stop us from teaching you all about wonderful wild foods, which is why we've created a new Family Foraging Kitchen video series!
From now until April, we're going to be releasing six educational episodes that take you on a virtual foraging tour of our Cornish environments, showing you some of the delicious foods that can be found there, as well as a guide on how to eat and cook them too!
These episodes also coincide with our Wild Food boxes, which are available for free once a month to support twenty local households across the Rame Peninsula. Each box is delivered with the ingredients you will see in our virtual foraging series and contains inspirational recipe cards too!

Brilliant as always 😉💕I would use hairy bitter cress myself instead of hedge bedstraw as bitter cress one of my favourites 😉xxxxx
