would you recommend getting a PVS14 with a higher quality tube (L3 gen 3 white phos film less or a dual tube set up with lesser quality tubes (perhaps basic green phos). From what I’ve seen it seems that a top notch 14 can go for around 4500ish and a can prob find a lower end dual for the 6-6500 range. Would you recommend the quality over the one over the ability to have an extra tube if that extra price difference is manageable?
I want new NVGs in this order. PVS-31A, ACT in Black DTNVG-14. Given that the PVS-31A’s are lighter and have better articulation for $3000 more what would you recommend? I used PVS-31s overseas and never had trouble and beat the hell out them.
Can you set interpupillary distance with the dtnvgs or do you have to readjust every time you swing a tube up and back down? If that's the case I'd prefer just having fixed bridge where I can set my distance and just always have it where I want it.
James Ryan both are good but along with what he said they’re an ounce difference in weight, about the same is price as well but for me for instance I found a really good deal for mine in WP sentinels and I was going to get rnvg but they were going to be more expensive so I just went with the sentinels, high end firearms usually has deals like that on Instagram where they sell units with “blems” for way lower prices if you don’t care about cosmetics
It appears your DTNVGs had lens protectors/filters on both the eyepieces and objectives, while the RNVGs had none. Although I don't expect the difference in weight to be that great, how much do your DTNVGs weigh without them? That would give us more of an apples-to-apples comparison.
If you buy binos, for $6000...why would you even want to go single tube, that’s like buying a new pair of sunglasses and removing one of the lenses so you can have more sunlight on one eye. I’ll take the durability all night long!
Because sometimes you are working in an area with varying lighting conditions and need to be able to rapidly adjust between the two conditions. One eye under nods one seeing natural lighting conditions.
Right on time 🤙🏻 now sell me yours for $5 thanks
Oh Timothy

average-quality dual tubes will always be better than a high-quality single tube.

There are no ip stops but it's a non issue adjusting for me personally.
Best thing would be an RNVG with ball detent mount so it stows low and no on-board illuminator & battery to save weight.
On the DTNVG Is interpupilary distance adjusted by articulation or is there an actual dial as is the case with the RNVG?
Yes they are adjusted by articulating the unit
I’ve only watch a few nvg videos as I want to get into it. Why do none of them talk prices?
These two units can range from $5400 to $10k
Would you recommend the RNVG or the Sentinels?
Depends on if you want the ability to use a ball detent mount. If not I'd go rnvg
@@Daynoodles yeah I could care less about the ball detent. Do the units shut off when flipped up?

does the dtnvg have the possibility of an external battery pack ?
I believe so
Hey my guy do these RNVGs have the AA option and do they also have the LEMO port? Thanks
I ddt know RNVGs ddt have gain. I assumed all modern NVGs had it

bro i have the same lense protection as that... both together don't weigh more than a gram.
you wont notice the weight of a sacrificial window unless you get one of the irising lens focus windows, but even those are not heavy.
Hi, the rnvg shuts off when stowed?
no as they have the standard dovetail mount not the ball bearing mount that kills power while stowed
@@Thunderbolt22A10 Not how it works but okay
So how much both nvg cost?

im so fucking confused. whats the best thing i can buy for under 15000 dollars.
Depends on what you want/value
@@Daynoodles well i wanted pvs31 but...
If you don't mind the few extra ounces and don't need a battery pack dtnvgs with l3 WP filmless tubes are a solid choice
