The more I watch these drag 'n drive events and other drag content the more I respect whoever does the prep at Bradenton.
Bradenton is imo one for the premier tracks in the country. even for test and tune, the track is on point.
Air is also really good down here
Bradenton over preps their track that's why everyone knows if you want to make a fast ass pass Bradenton is the place
Bradenton in Florida and US-131 in Michigan... two of the best tracks I have ever ran on.
Then you'll come to a POS track in somebodies back yard here in NC that will pull your socks off.
Most excellent ,to both Cleetus and Kevin the progress is brilliant ,to think few days ago new motor , tyres . To running some really quick times. Nice when you guys are together things are hands on and happening ,Kevin understands the workings of Mullet.
You two make a great team, and work well with each other, also impressive skills. Thanks for the Videos!
5:00 in, the windmills are cool. I am also amazed when I see them driving from Cincinnati to Indy or Chicago. As far as the eye can see, Windmills! There is a place where you see hundreds and hundreds all in lines. Pretty sweet to see. They are even cool at night!
Dont know if ya’ll caught it but @ 7:33 the dash cuts in and out. Ive noticed it a few more times on this video. Really neat to watch you guys as friends. Mullets maiden voyage together and now mullets big block maiden christening, pretty unique.
Such dedication. What a rush this week must be.
I already watched this on Garrett's channel but the way we get it behind the scenes on Kevin's is freaking awesome
What's cooler than a trailer hitch between 2 parachutes . DIG IT !!
Will the Holley allow you to increase the sampling rate on the wheel sensors that close the traction control loop? Oh, and FWIW, the Holley dash looks like it’s resetting on every run ~ right after the 1/8 mile(?)
Was wondering why it was resetting as well
I think they kill power right after the run and coast after the para-shoots deploy could that be it ?
@@ThatandCo naw, he's still making power when it shuts off. It looks like it's just the display. The engine would come to a very abrupt stop if it were the ECU that went down.
I bet Kevin is kicking the wires out of the passenger side floor fucking it all up.
kidding.
when ever he ksr is here the cars brakes
Kevin what wire
Your on car track cameras are the best. Love the rear view camera shots you did..
Our friend Billy owns U.S. 41 and he's got a good crew there that really take pride in prepping the track. Glad to see you fellas up in our neck of the woods, Kev and keep up the great work. Cheers!
I love that Kevin was impressed by the windmills. As a fellow nerd, I also think windmills are super cool
Goodnight from Australia...have a great day Lads
It’s insane to me how many people will just stand and watch them. Couple guys watched the entire post race valve lashing lol
Thanks for going the extra mile Kevin and posting these. All that valve lashin, early in the morning, my hats off to ya!
During the time lapse at the end of getting the car ready for the road, it's hilarious to watch the people watching you.
18:47 to 18:53.
It's same way at my local dirt track, however we are all the same staring at each 1 of his videos exactly how those people were
YESSSS! Finally stickin'!
I predict a trophy.
Wow that big block sounds dope asf. Sheesh 🔥💥🔥💥🔥💥🔥💥🔥🚀🔥🚀💥🚀🔥🚀💥🚀🔥🚀💥🚀🔥🚀💥🚀🔥🚀
Speaking of windmills you ought to drive through north, north west Texas panhandle area there are thousands of windmills. For a couple hours of driving lol
Those wind farms are producing so much wind out here in the west
Look at ya on Trending!
Noticed on a couple runs this week his Holley has shut off 2/3 down the track.
Got a great combo now boys. Let’s get the W.
Awesome video Kev. Lovey sunrise!
Your shot of the sunrise with Mullet was awesome!
So glad you are there with him Kevin, that's an amazing car you have built and now the engine to match the big bruiser.
Great runs. But the Holley checking out at times looks frustrating.
Well done guy’s.
must be worth sticking on some cone filters for the tubros for the road sections?
This looks like a dream week for you guys, have fun and enjoy 😎👍
I'm assuming you took the drip pan off for more air flow on the drive.
I bet all the sleeping people in the hotel loved hearing that thing FIRE up and warm up at 6 in the morning
6:00 AM wakeup call for the entire hotel.
:)
With all the talk about oil pressure in the past have you guys considered putting in a mechanical gauge so you don’t have to rely or wait on the dash?
They really should have the ECU separate ( very) small battery so it doesn't drop out when they start the motor.
I'm a little nervous about how much Cleetus is sawing on the wheel on a 205 mph pass. Maybe needs more caster?
I seen 8447 rpm 😂
With a SM big block 🤣
Full send 🤘
Oh, and Rain-X is a game changer
Cool to see these events, how come the Holley dash keeps cutting out on the top end? Great video 👍
really liking your camera positions, have enjoyed your channel, and your getting much better every time. looking forward to more great videos. try a camera under front bumper, facing forward
put some rainX on that windshield!
Can’t wait to see that 6! 🤘🏼
Kevin as your partner and your car breaks down.. NO problems.
First two runs Holley dash said: “No thanks, I’m out!”
Did it tire shake and crack the windshield? Or did it twist the car enough to crack it? Lol, do you have a booster seat to be able to see to drive it? I know I would. I’m only like 5’8” lol
Kevin is the man 👉👉👉👍👍👍
Cleetus said "he isn't going to lie he hit the scramble button" but wait data won't let him lie if he wanted to. Lol I just hope that holley turning off isn't leaning out that $50,000 SM big block?
It sure didn't sound like it was cutting fuel but idk
Way to go KSR Performance you is the man Kevin much respect I will drive out there to you anytime for you to tune my car I have a few toys that I need you to check me out you was the first to get that El Camino at 6s I know eventually you will have it running in the 6.3 or 6.1! You did that within 72 hours other then the team blowing up or breaking stuff you is the man with the plans Congratulations the best Tuner for Cletus Hell yea my brother when can I bring my cars out there for you too make me a 6 second pass I know you can do it brother!!!🤘
Why does he shut the power off to the car at the end? Isn't just putting in neutral Good enough?
What is going on with the Holley dash? Is it losing power or is something wrong with the screen?
Come on Kevin you don’t need to clickbait us with titles like that on your thumbnail! Following from the UK, loving the work you guys are putting into the new setup, looking forward to seeing Garrett going consistent 6’s :)
Keep it up boys
How do the turbos do in the rain with the intakes wide open?
I wonder why the holleys turning off
Do y’all have a GV Overdrive in Mullet?
Hey ksr do big efi turbo set ups not like to use a iac ? I always see throttle needed for start up would a iac help start and then close it after warm up ? Or is it just a start up tune issue that needs corrected im not a tuner i am dipping my toes in as i have hp tuners i just have questions lol thanks
Why does the Holley screen go out at the top end?
Cleet why does your dash cut out on desal?????
I know what's wrong with it, it ain't got no gas. Lol
what kind of RPM does mullet do cruising at 65mph? my 64 elcamino goes 3500 RPMs at highway speeds
No air filters , bound to ask for problems
Why is the dash rebooting when it clicks in high gear?
Kevin your ole lady wants her leggings back. Lmao
WHY DOES the dash go out on some passes???
Why does the dash keep shutting off each run?
Got a ? Y is the efi screen going out 3/4 track
6 digit race car with no wipers lol
CRAMA
The screen shutdown during the pass?!?!
yup yup yup
So good to see Kevin and Cleetus working together again, they do make a great team.
Agree - Kevin seems to be just a great dude too
They're like ying and yang, kevin is meticulous about everything and cleetus is just reckless 😂😂
They remind me of me and my cousin in high school. We did the same kind of road tripping but it was rodeo to rodeo! Man we had fun!!!!!
Facts! When I found out Kevin was co piloting on Midwest Drags I was so stoked for the videos to come.
Why does the dash keep cutting off mid run?
Hey Kevin, a heads up on those smart coils. You can get them at any mercury marine dealer as they are a factory part adopted by the aftermarket.
Yep they use them on the Verado outboards
I know who wakes up early, or edits late into the night. Tom bailey posts vids at 6am Kevin at 7 and cleet is gonna be this afternoon.
Sometimes I wonder if cleet does it on purpose to help his friends get views. Let’s be honest, I watched Tom’s and Kevin’s and I’ll still watch cleets. If his was first, maybe I don’t watch them all when it has the same topic.
I think its hilarious how Tom, Kevin and Cleet made 3 different videos about the same car. Love it. 🤣 PS. I'm watching them all!
@@JDderd 100% this. 👍👍
@@JDderd I think this is exactly what he does.
@@JDderd I wonder that too, Tom baileys is just clips so i watch more for the other cars I normally watch 1320 for that but they don’t seem to be at this event, I watch Kevin’s and cleetus’s as they don’t record at the same time so you get to see other things
How reassuring it must be for Cleetus to have you right there by his side!
Couldn't have picked a better co pilot for the maiden voyage
@@Matty.Hill_87 About the only other choice for this would be Steve Morris himself but Kevin knows this car so well, he is the perfect partner
Why does the Holley keep shutting off mid run?! That's concerning.
@John Russell i was hoping to see 200 on the speedo! Lol.
Was asking the same thing watching this
Might be due to that solenoid/relay that was mentioned in the video? 🤷♂️
Look's like it acted right in the last pass though.
Holley dashes love doing dumb shit here and there. Especially the bigger ones
So the windmills... the fibreglass blades are lifed so they don't destroy the gearbox with out of balance if a blade breaks. They bury those fibreglass blades by the thousands. Gotta love renewable energy! So environmentally friendly!
I would argue that buried fiberglass is far less harmful that spilled oil from burst pipelines
@@drummer2443 I would argue that oil is produced by the earth so a spill is simply putting back what was removed. The earth definitely did not produce windmill blades
Love when Kevin goes on drag and drives with the McFarland racing lot, the content is always prime🔥
I like how you normally get a more technical point of view from Kevin and then cleetus just sending it
@@Matty.Hill_87 exactly that, get two different insights into the event. Makes for some great content
Lol only Cleetus can say “not gonna lie, I lifted before the 1/4 mile cause the shutdown area was coming up QUICK” but also “I grabbed the scramble cause I was excited” on the same pass
How do you pass tech with a broken windshield or don't they care if it shatters in your face? 🤔
This pairing seems so much less hectic than previous race events
Maybe because ole cleeter is only running one car this time around? Whereas he usually has two sometimes even three
@@secdez8504 quite possibly
@@rcravincase it does certainly seem more of a 2 mates out having some fun, rather than the hustle of a race team looking for results.
Kevin is a stone cold experienced crew chief
@@dvanbramer88 oh for sure. They just seem to be running smoother than they usually do this time around
GOOD MORNING FROM WASHINGTON STATE!! Tuning into the live Summit Feed and Hoping for a historic 6 today!! WIN WITH KSR
TO THE 6 WITH SME
Hey Kevin why does the dash keep shutting off?
Nice job guys. Seems like Mullet is beginning to settle into the huge horsetorque change and you are getting him dialed into its happy place. Now as long as the tracks stay consistent with there prep I'm thinking Mullet can come out on top with its first drag and drive since the engine swap. best of luck brother.🤓
What’s going on with the Holley dash restarting at about 3/4 track?? Loose connection or possibly loose ground somewhere?
Watching the second pass, it’s right when it shifts into 3rd when it resets.
I think he’s doing it since they haven’t complained about it, hiding the top end rpm maybe to hide rear gear stats or something idk
Let's gooo kevin. Man you're a genius ❤️
awesome video Kevin !!!
watching Tom Bailey's channel a few minutes ago they mentioned that you and cleetus are in first place overall after yesterdays race
if that is correct then congrats and hoping on a 6 second pass today !!!
Wouldn't Pro Jack's be really handy for these events and all year for that matter goes? Great day of racing you guys are in 1st place so Letz Gooooooo!!!
Kevin:
What's with the Holley dash rebooting at about 7:30 just after the red line rpms?
Did it again at 10:26 this time halfway down track again just after red line rpms
Noise affecting it? Wiring issue?
(No - not when it goes black when Cletus shuts it down).
It's showing the startup logo etc as it does when it boots up.
As you noted - Chutes acting weird at 14:42 - maybe caught on trailer hitch?? Straps look pretty close at 9:47
Mullet is going 6's on race week, I've got faith you guys can make it happen, this thing has so much potential now
Major props to whoever made the decision to add the “bump” button to the firewall!!
Kevin I believe
They've had one on leroy for a long time for doing clutch tuning, it's a fairly common race car thing
Pretty much everyone with a solid roller cam has a bump button on the firewall for setting/checking lash.
@@mattbradshaw6456 I have one under the car also, for clutch tuning.
Bump buttons/starter buttons used to be hand held controllers back in the day.
As much as I love seeing Jackstand, George, Ty and all the Freedom Factory boys I'm missing, you and Cleetus have a certain chemistry that makes for my favorite content. Good people having a good time, but on a fun personal level. I don't have a good explanation, but I tend to enjoy watching the races you guys do together. Just a good time all around.
Well said. These two are very talented, extremely driven, brilliantly creative and extraordinarily ambitious men. It’s awesome they actually get along, much less click so well.
It's so hard to find a couple of amazing guys, get together and work like no one else ever and have fun doing it! I to love their combo and content!
Kevin you are killing it with the camera angles. Your getting some really cool shots. The burnout rolling at the camera was the best.
What's up with the dash, on the first day it was resetting or something but day two it was looking like most passes, makes it hard to look at stuff whilst old cleets is trying to pilot down the track
Any idea why the gauge keeps flipping on and off during the run?
They had some electrical issues this morning kill some coils, I'm thinking it's related.
10:00. Ok I’ve never seen a tow hitch disappear so fast 🤷🏻
Right? lol
Yeah, that angle was amazing, and to watch it hook after was cool.
I hope you and Cleetus always do Midwest drags together! Y'all make a great team. Awesome video man!
Thanks Kevin for getting us content! Love it
You should see them windmills at night. The red light on top all flash slow together as far as you can see.
I like how I'm watching other channels to get a sneak peek how you guys are doing... then video pops up!!
