    A high percentage of the driving on that pad will be dry weather. I think going to rough will be good for rain when it comes once in a while but terrible when its dry and hot out. It will wear tires fast

    Do not do the ball bearing one you will have cracks and chunks will brake off in the future I would do the cutting and after just drag a chain link fence with a edge on the back bottom side like upside down piece of angle line hook it to a car and do laps like ur grading and bade ball field that will be ur cheapest way and seal it when all done the groves will last longer hope I helped

    you can acid etch the surface... much cheaper

  • @jasonwilde197
    @jasonwilde197 2 роки тому +423

    Be careful about using a "Ball Mill" style of Concrete resurfacing, it's very aggressive and leaves micro fractures in the concrete. I know your pad is pretty thick. I watched it get laid down, but you can only do that so many times over the years before you start to lose too much top surface (Adds additional micro cracks and expands existing ones). Over time the transition from Asphalt to Concrete will feature a drop (Quarter of an inch give or take, depending on how many times you resurface with that method). You are going to have to do the whole pad for continuity purposes, not just the rubbery areas (So you don't end up with a slight bowl shape after 5-10 years, unless you want that, then party hard brother!) Now that I think about it, a slight bowl shape in the center of the burnout pad might be better for Burnouts. I know you use it for drifting too, and some racing, that's the whole reason for this post. You deserve nothing less than perfection, you earned it. Also, that fine dust that is produced by the process is going to play hell on your drainage system via sedimentation. Basically, the dust is so fine it ends up depositing and turning into a Semi-Solid in your drainage system. It's not an issue at first, but this is an over-time issue. I know you are in it for the long haul, I fully support you brother! The only way around that is to Vacuum it up, or blow the dust off into the Grass, but remember, when it rains, those fine particles can get re-suspended in the runoff water and carried into the drainage system. It's worth the extra expense to Vacuum it, unless it's included in the original quote. The good thing about the Vacuum is that you can keep the dust to reuse for another Concrete project, and you don't have to worry about drainage issues 10 years later! Sorry for the Wall-O-Text. 🙂

      He could always use a densifier to tighten the concrete up to stop the cracking . Than run over it with a shot blaster rather than a scarifier. The densifier will also stop it powdering up and turning to dust

    • @skeetermcswagger0U812
      @skeetermcswagger0U812 2 роки тому +12

      I saw nothing wrong with your whole text except you'd have to put a drain in the middle because it would turn from a drift bowl into a 'bowl of water' when it rained.

    Tye is putting in some work! Engine plates, headers, and a new turbo kit on the El Co, engine plates, turbo kit, and a whole lot more on the Blazer, and a full back half, new engine and transmission mounts, plus everything else on Leroy.
    Holy damn the fleet is gonna be ripping after this rebuild, huge credits to Tye.
    Also lot of work from Zach. El Co needs to be wired for a different engine, Blazer needs everything wired, and Leroy is starting over on wiring too.
    George and James are grinding just as hard with everything else, hell, even Cleetus is working in the shop in a way we haven’t seen in a while.
    Big moves happening, unfortunately I think they are gonna run out of time, but hell yeah, I’m here for it all.

    The problem with grooves is that they're really grippy across the grain but there's no grip in the direction of the grooves. Great for a road surface since traffic is always going in a straight line, but for something like this where you're driving all over the place it would probably be too erratic/unpredictable.

    • @AlexMcNZ
      @AlexMcNZ 2 роки тому +9

      Agreed, youd have to cross hatch the whole pad to get equal grip and then I think youd end up fucking it.

    Ty's work is amazing, just wondering if he'd get nervous before a header job. He has the whole world, watching him and his skill. I'm sure he's confident, it definitely shows with his finished product.👍🇺🇸🇭🇲

    Cleetus, the shot blaster is the way to go. I ran one for ten years and we did all kinds of concrete go cart tracks for more traction for the cars.

    Rocky needs a PA horn installed so like @Jacob Johnson says, George can do a PHAT 'Buenos DIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAS!' then hit it. :D
    OOH. Better than that. Record a big Buenos Dias from George, then stick it on playback machine tied into the PA that's installed, and have it so when he stomps the loud pedal it goes off as he flings Rocky down the track.
    Yes. This is the way, I have spoken, make it so, engage, DEW IT. ^.^

    We need more of George and the blazer! Month of freedom isn't shit without our Buenos dias!!! Subies are bad but idk if it's gonna dethrone anything.... But do your track manager a solid and hook him up cleetus/RTR style, just saying! Fyi I'm gonna push the wife for a flo-ri-da family trip for 2023 to you know "the freedom fricken factory!" So we can see "yo boi cleetus, get demolished by Vgg at the 500 (and meet the man sam himself)!
