We love hearing from all of you!
Straight off the lift does 7's, then cruises effortless through rain for more runs in a drag week. How could you not want a car be built by the team at KSR. Damn awesome job.
Exactly
Yup, tough gig to get right,.... And the haters in the chat on the Summit live stream have to eat their words in trophy shaped bites 😄
Wonder how much cash he's shoved into the mullet build...
@@wjpreslar cleet paid n it was worth it. He a regular customer
@@1hunglow582 my comment wasn't shade. It was more of a how realistic is that for normies kinda question. I doubt we'll ever know the full story on it though. I can't imagine it being in my price range for sure. Lol
This chilled out elevator music at the end of each video really soothes the soul.
Really, cause it sounds like I've just tuned in to an episode of "Sewing with Gertrude" or something
@@myahoff YOU GUYS SLAY ME, LMFAO.
It reminds me of when you are on Hold. Just about to fall asleep ' Yes How May I Help You"
I was thinkin golden girls... you know. Because Florida.
@@69JJV NO SHIT, LOL.
Legend tells of Kevin pouring over data and has no time for edits. A fella loves the rawness.
Congrats on the win lads.
You wouldn't watch vice grip garage, by any chance, would you? I'm 64.92% sure that's where you got that expression. 😏
@@JerGol … maybe … 👌🏻
Kevin is a triple threat.. builder, tuner, and driver.. much respect.
I was thinking the same thing
And, He stays humble through it all. That's an admirable man there.
And editor
And dad
For sure
Kevin you are a legend my friend. I don't think you can overstate how impressive it is for a BRAND NEW race car to go that flawlessly over 4 days of street driving and drag racing.
I totally agree, especially with how complicated that car really is. It has so damned many sensors and new high tech gadgets on it, for nothing to fail other than a loose fuel pump pulley and an alternator belt. I mean my God what a hell of a car!!!
I love that I get to watch both perspectives of these videos from Kevin and cleet. Wish there was more of that.
Keep it up Kevin!
To build a 7 second street car and to have it perform so well on it's maiden voyage proves your attention to the details is everything and that you really do know how to build them. Congrats Kevin!!!
Cant beat that for a first time out.. great car, great tuning, hiccups to a minimum, Cleetus did a great job driving !.. Congratulations on the Win !
Way to go Kevin...and don't worry, you will solve the alternator belt! What a great opening shakedown trip, you and your team should be very proud!
Let's all take a moment to congratulate Kevin on this awesome channel taking off and how good he is as what he does. Literally took a completely new build and drove it 800mi, won its class, and made some really fast passes. This car was barely even tested before all this and they had no problems besides the overdrive
Car is packed with modern tech, but the door still sounds like every crappy 70’s/80’s GM when it closes. Some stuff even Kevin can’t fix.
Definitely do not want to hear those doors making ugly noises every time the close !
There are dome things to fix that ! ,
And just some flat carbon covers would do justice !
Find video of mid 80's. Porsche 911 !!! They have the BEST SOUNDING DOORS EVER !!!!!!😎😎😎😎😎😄😄😄😄🍺🍺🍺
True testament to a well-built car congratulations to Kevin with KSR performance and Cletus awesome job with Mullet
Good job Kevin. You are the man. Cleetus needs to give you a big bonus. You guys did great.
Mike gave you props for telling him how to fix his boats starting issues.
Makes me think he did that part online tuning since he hadn't been there yet as far as we know.
@@lunkydog Kevin was there for the hovercraft delivery
@@lunkydog kevin was with cleetus when they went to mikes. you can see it in the video where cleetus drives mikes boat Gameover
@@lunkydog please dont base the world off of what you personally know lmao. you know the old saying about assumptions, right?
@@The_Cat_Authority I forgot about that. My comment was intended as a compliment to Kevin's abilities that's all.
Another thought.. I’d recommend measuring ride height from the bottom of the rim to the bottom of the fender. This takes, tire flex and ground angle out of your measurements. Also measuring in millimeters makes it very easy digest. Though this is without knowing your specific reasoning.
Stay tuned!!! Six seconds pretty soon!!! Congrats guys!!! 💪🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A true testament to quality workmanship and design! You are truly a Master. Walk with Jesus!
I absolutely love how even though your both vlogging on the same team we are not seeing the same stuff for each day on both channels.
Congrats on building a awesome car. That was one hell-of a shake down and bug finding week.
I'm so pleased for you Kevin and this shows the level of knowledge skills and experience to build up the car and setting it up well done on the hole car build now bend his ear about giving Leroy the same treatment we all know and need Leroy to have the KSR touch
90's sitcom music at the end brought me back!!
Congratulations kevin on building a certified ripper and always great driving Garrett enjoy that win
Kevin definitely has what it takes. Way to go , brother! I cant wait to see what comes next.
Congratulations Kevin on the win! You built an amazing car!!!
Great Build Kevin, awesome driving Cleetus!!
You need to be with this car at all times, please go to Drag week also this is the content we need
Great job Kevin! Love watching you do your thing! As real as it gets!
I watch your video first then cleetus video you have to see what the tuner see first great job on the build and the drive
Kevin, spectacular ending to an amazing week. Can’t say anything more than well done. Congratulations and I look forward to seeing what Rocky Mountain brings.
Edit: the Norwalk ice cream is so deserved.
Kevin running around at the track with swimming trunks lol. FLORIDA 😂🤣
congratulations guys from Australia.
Awesome build Kevin! Great shakedown week!
Good job Kevin! You should be very proud of yourself!
KSR perfection!! Such a great build. Good job!!!
What a way to finish an awesome build! I see more wins in mullets future!
Kevin she a beaut, but you already knew that b4 it hit the road. Enjoy the build and the win and get ready to be busy at the shop. Some orders will be flowing im sure.
WOW .... I mean WOW.
First real racing with a brand new build!
Life is good...if your name is Kevin or Garrett.
Great outing and now I gotta go to the Ckeetus channel and watch his race videos.
And Kevin, I am super stoked on the next video as I am building a 65 Nova.
Not to you extent but hoping to get near the 10's.
C'mon
So frickin awesome congratulations to the 2 of you. God bless.
"That's not the cars' fault" LOL Who are you blaming there Kevin?
Well it can't be Cleetus, because he "knows his car" :P
100% on Cleetus! 🤣
Congratulations man you and your crew built one hell of a ripper
Congratulations guys, you earned it.
Congrates on the win cleetus ksr and mullet
Congrats! Do you ever get tired of winning? LOL this is my favorite UA-cam channel hands down! It's funny that you mentioned Finnegan because I swear I seen him drive down my street with Dave in Bristol Tennessee the other day, in a giant white hauler that looked like Cleets? Maybe I'm going crazy but it looked just like them and I should have yelled something! You da man Kevin!🏁🇺🇸
Hell yeah Kevin. Epic build mate 🤙
Congrats!!!!!
Congratulations, amazing work
Be Blessed and Be Safe 😇
Great job Kev.........
Congratulations guys awesome runs !!!
Great job guys! Fun watching the different perspectives from you, Tom, Steve, and fans.
Dang Kevin you built a absolute unit!!!
Larger pulley slows alt down down and the belt does not have to make such a sharp turn, had the same problem in my off road race car, solved never to return at 8,500
Congrats on 200K Kevin!
Paint a white line on the outside of the tire and you can see when it's spinning easier cause I've watch a slow motion vid and you couldn't tell it was spinning and when we painted the line we noticed it was spinning lol
Be prouda yourself Kevin
Congratulations on 200
After watching the entire build I finally identified the ending music! We are experiencing technical difficulties please stand by... Did you choose it for that reason or is it a coincidence?
To take an old worn out el Camino, a pile of tubing and sheet metal, and build this car with minimal r and d and testing and win your first event. Phinominal I think is the word I'm looking for.
What about a dome shaped pulley wheel instead of a flat one. Like on a belt sander?
That bar change moved the pinion angle down. Did you recheck the pinion angle after moving the bar? I think it’s still ok...
Secretly change that value so that you always have some fuel left.
Looks like Cleetus actually needs 3 parachutes, a red one, a white one and a blue one.
Morning
16:12 Almost lost a chute there.
That music reminds me of some show from the 80's,....can't quite figure it out...
Cleeter is always throwing belts... Could you maybe make, or have someone make pulleys with bigger shoulders... Or add a machined ring to the side of the existing pulleys
Kev, so I can understand the motion of the rearend, if you put it in the center hole would it transfer back and then lift??
The truth is Kevin don’t care about the drag racing he just wants DATA😂😂
Big data guy🤣
Shave 10 pounds off the car by removing half the sensors Kevin installed.
@@42agrajagg Kevin installed sensors to monitor sensors!!😂
Gotta get that data fix man.
@@42agrajagg I kinda chuckle at that fact also, not to mention he's still mostly adjusting the suspension by his eye. not the data
It' all fits the theme cleetus in an elco now. The car is beautiful and functional, Steve Morris said how comfortable iit is. Nice Job Kevin and the gang at KSR and all the people behind the scenes who made it happen. Congratulations Boys! Proud of you. Freedom for the Win
When Steve Morris gets out of a car after riding in it, with a huge smile, you know it was done right.
Turbski blessed by the thumbprint of John force too
Pretty much impossible to make a Promod “comfortable” on the street. Chassis is so stiff and the struts have to be super firm to handle the power
Put a Litens OAD pulley on the alternator. It will help the belt issue immensely. The problem is the rotor momentum after acceleration. It can’t slow as fast as it needs to and the belt will whip around the pulley and jump.
This actually makes tons of sense.
I'm going to have to give this 10 thumbs up. I doubt Keven did a bad job aligning the belt. It's just jumping. If anyone doesn't know what a OAD pulley is check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/jKMf-_Yl-AI/v-deo.html
Here's a better video. ua-cam.com/video/4EXYP1CmL9Q/v-deo.html
Nice! That would do it! The main problem is belt stretch. Seems nearly all belt manufactures make rubber band belts these days. Goodyear and Gates are the worst for it. Be nice to see AOD do some testing with several brands of belts to see if any differences exist. From my 25+ years experience in the field Bando and Mitsuboshi belts are not rubber bands. Dayco belts were good years back but that is no longer the case. I would almost bet just changing belt brands would greatly improve the problem. This was already a problem back in the late 80's. I worked for Jeep and you could not keep most aftermarket belts on a 4.0L in a Jeep Cherokee. I got them in all the time with belt problems. Installing a factory belt would solve the problem.
Probably wouldn't hurt to turn the alternator slower. The power curve typically comes in at a pretty low speed plus the system voltage is running above 15 VDC which seems higher than necessary.
First time out in a brand new build and your guys absolutely killed it!!!! If that's not a testament to the quality of machine Kevin builds then I don't know what is!! Hell of a job Kevin hell of job 👌👌
Congrats Kevin you built one hell of a program.
Is that called "the shakedown win"?...
Kevin impressing everyone with Mullet...so proud fella's, great job.❤️🔥🔥🔥🇭🇲👍
Can’t agree enough!
Totally! He is a special, uniquely talented guy.
KSR AND CLEETUS for the win Congratulations guys!!!!
Love how cleetus is platforming Kevin, not leaving him behind the scenes and making sure Kevin is getting his own content even in the midst of racing
yupp! giving him filming tips and editing tips too im sure. hes helped JH out a good bit as well. cleetus is a really awesome dude!
Seems like knowing how to build and support the community is a graduation requirement from the "1320 school of autosport video production".
And it's damn good to see that happening.
There is plenty of room for car content online, so why not support each other? Its not like car guys only want one perspective, one story, or a narrative, we want to see racing, driving, building, and all the shit that goes with it. Unlike the mindset of most people, gearheads only have to compete on the track, and we help our competitors even if they end up winning.
We aren't like 'normal' or 'typical' people.
@@SweatyFatGuy Ain't that the truth!
Cleetus is a genuine guy, not one to take all the glory and recognize who and what got him to where he is. Hope they continue to do more together because they make a great team.
There is sleepless eyes behind those shades haha
Can hear it in his exhale-laden intro, this week slapped the fire out of these boys 😂
Big facts
So true lot of long days and nights.
yeah. not only dealing with the car but editing these videos. seriously appreciate this awesome content
All the racers mad about Leroy last year on race week are gonna be pissed this year when he shows up with Mullet
HELL YEAH BROTHER!!! also the 2 PoVs from this week was amazing, I also love that you joined cleeter with his daily uploads!!
my thoughts exactly, loved watchin the two vids of each day back to back getting each of their perspectives of the day's events
this speaks volumes on your expertise Kevin, congratulations, this is all your victory.
The KSR TEAM did GREAT.
Love how your hear how excited cleetus is on the camera on the outside of the car!!
"I am a little upset about the alternator belt" would have to be the understatement of the week wouldn't it?
I'll try and match it with "if that's the worst you have to fix at the end of your first competition week then you didn't do too bad a job of building it" :)
It’s not Kevin‘s fault it’s a freedom factory thing all Cletis‘s cars throw the alternator belt😂😂😂
@@nmoran2046 probably just a slightly misaligned alternator or drive pulley.
Don't forget about the reverse light. Lol
HELL YEAH BROTHER like always the best way to start the day with KSR and then we get Kevin with Mike Finnegan on the water let's go fire me up
Now i cant look forward to a ksr video in the morning and cleet in the night. Now ima look forward to a ksr video each week
Brother you’re going to have to start hiring staff you just built a seven second winning drag week car that pulled through with no problems the orders you are going to receive now are going to keep you working for decades just imagine the amount of ice cream money you and your daughters are going to have
I'm soooo looking forward to the next few years. The shit KSR is gonna build in the future is gonna be fun to watch.
@@ronjones-6977 I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the next big build series Kevin does. Or even smaller builds Kevin treats them all the same. Great work KSR team.
WIN WITH KSR!! No truer statement has ever been said about race cars
I cant wait till Cleetus unlocks the Fire Me UP!! side of Kevin!! Congrats brothers!!
Just incredible Kev. On her maiden voyage, popped a cherry and secured the W. Mad scientist.
Decided to check if a video was up yet... less than a minute ago... sweet
Out there killin’ it! Congratulations on the W boys, really like that grasshopper view launch.
Good thing Brent has alot of experience with belts flying off of Leroy during race week
Brent will be happy on how comfortable Mullet is compared to Leroy without a roof.
I’m early for this one - also excited to see what ole Cleetus does this weekend at his track
First thing being drift night. Sunday. We all shall see. I’m excited too.
Kevin is the only magician that shows you how his magic works and you’re still impressed
Nothing up my sleeves...
Congratulations man. All those late nights and early starts paid off. Hell of a shakedown event and to come away with a win is even better.
Kevin, you the man. Congrats on an epic build. It will only get faster. On to the next project. Excited to be along for the ride.
I'm so happy for KSR! When you watch every video of the build and then see it clean up at the track is truly exciting and very enjoyable!
this whole car build boarders on art.
Totally agree buddy. 👍
It is art! The art of the build is 100% evident in Mullet!!! Just Saying.
This is amazing! New build wins. Ksr precision and attention to detail in my opinion is second to none in all motorsports. You're too humble to admit it. But your track record is simply amazing even you're driving old beat up rejuvenated crown vics proves it. Congratulations! Keep it going we love it 😍😍
The whole KSR team deserves a big
hell yeah brother!!
Buddy, you need The Mullet in those intro's now... Lol.
Kind of weird having people stand around staring at you. Congrats on the successful build
Can’t wait to see how this thing gets a long once you guys really get it figured out!
Hell yah!! It won’t be long until the 7.0’s
We love ya KSR!
