    I do love your reviews. You do a great job keeping your own bias out of the reviews. I feel like you provide a very honest, objective review. I agree, Mathews did well this year. There are so many good choices for 2019. Hard to go wrong. Thank you.

      I also purchased a Traverse at the tail end of the season last year. I picked mine up from Lancaster Archery and tried the comparable Hoyts, PSE, Bowtech and Elite. Narrowed it down to the Traverse and the Vertix. Went with the Traverse for the longer axle to axle and never looked back.

    Another great review! It's better to keep the limpockets locked down to the riser. To do this Matthew's incorparated the switch weight system on the cam. Also another way to judge the back wall is see how consistent the speed is from shot to shot

      The mods can change the let off and draw length, without changing the cam. The draw weight on the traverse is only changed by the limbs.

    Two comments:
    1 - the cam mods that change draw weight is only on the Vertix. And yes it makes the bow more efficient (but kills the draw cycle in my opinion)
    2 - would be nice to see your data compared side by side to other bows:manufacturers

    I’m pretty sure that the Mathews vertix is the only bow that has the switchweight modules. The traverse and tx-5 use the regular modules and need limb changes to change weights.

    Maybe you should switch from a number to a description category. The back wall would change from 10/8/5 to solid/moderate/spongy and the let down would change to aggressive/moderate/passive.

    Curious as to what mods are on it? Those numbers for DW and length don’t add up. My guess is you have 30” mods on it and didn’t catch that.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 років тому

      30 inch mods with a 60 pound limb. I misspoke regarding the mod because the Traverse doesn’t have the switch weight mod technology, only the Vertix does.

  • @Hoytshooter
    @Hoytshooter 5 років тому

    I shot the treverse and loved it but not shoot the vertix did you find the draw to be stiffer in the vertix or find the vertix anymore silent also from what I've researched the switch weight allows you to shoot the limbs all the way down at any weight instead of backing the bolt's out so you're able to get the most efficientcy out of your bow

    I'm calculating "true IBO" of around 328 with 85% let off (what the test would should if 70 lbs, 30", 350 grain and nothing on the string). That's about 10 under the advertised, which unfortunately seems standard practice these days.
