One of the reasons I subscribed to your channel is because you come across as a genuinely nice person, and I love your laugh! My son has a giggle like that, and I love it!! Why on earth would anyone make a negative comment regarding your laugh? Truly, what is wrong with them? Because there is nothing wrong with you, and anyone who chooses to make a person feel bad because of their laugh has some issues to deal with in their own lives! You keep on making your videos, and keep on laughing and enjoying yourself. Your shows are fun to watch, and I feel happy while enjoying them. I’m packed up for a back country canoe trip leaving tomorrow morning. Tonight there’s an ELO concert in Toronto, which is why we didn’t leave for our trip this morning!!! Algonquin park is where we’re headed. We take most of our trips in September and October because there’s no bugs!! And also most of the people are back home after their summer trips, so it’s more peaceful. I’ve been waiting all summer for this!! We have 4 remote trips planned for September and October and it all begins tomorrow morning. Anyway, you are good. Your videos are good. Don’t let a handful of negative people make you second guess yourself. You are good, and that’s all that matters! And keep on with the giggles , because I love to hear it, and whenever I hear anyone who giggles like that, I always comment to my hubby about how happy it makes me feel. Hey Jason, in my mind, hearing raindrops on the flysheet during the night is very very soothing. Now if I was in a hammock like that, I'd be in heaven. But I'd need my little radio to listen to John Creedon in the evening. I have one of those Oco candle lights but never use it. I'll bring it with me next time. Don't change a thing man. As someone who is just getting back into camping as an adult I stumbled onto your channel a couple of weeks ago and was hooked. Your style is so natural and it makes your videos really relaxing to watch. The laugh is a part of what makes the videos so natural and makes me want to laugh as well. Keep it up !
Some people have no joy in their lives, honestly. I'm so sorry that you felt you couldn't be yourself, but I'm sure most of us like you the way you are.
Two things mate - don't change the way you are. You are the genuine article, and people that complain about it are saying more about themselves. As the firebox stove, love mine. A trick for once you to try. Start like you would a Swedish torch. Take a 4" diameter piece of wood (or one that will just fit the dimensions of the stove) and split into quarters. Put your tinder in between the pieces.
Ah I must try that, I'll be playing around with it again. I think that I rushed myself to get it lighting before I'd finished setting up the rest of the camp because of the midges. Thanks a million 🙌

With all that's wrong with the world right now, its great to get out into the forest and get away from it all. But when you can't, you can watch one of your videos. It can be very hard to find the time to get away even for a little while. I am very happy to hear the videos help when you can't get out. I've decided that spending my time worrying about what someone might think is good time wasted. Nice video mate. It looks like the candle actually took care of the midges. Maybe you can do a video showing how you made it. About the wood stove, I'm glad you've shown what a pain in the ass those things are. In the outdoor community these days there seems to be some kind of nostalgic romanticism around cooking on wood flame, but the reality is exactly what you showed there. You can't leave the thing unattended for 5 seconds or it'll die out, not to mention the soot on the pots and the smoke that impregnates everything in sight. Alcohol burners are much better in that sense, and they're quiet too. Not disruptive at all. Great video mate, and that was a beautiful forest.
I'm hoping to get a little video put together soon on how I made the candles. The little twig stove was a real pain, I'll give it another go sometime but I definitely prefer the ease of the alcohol stove that just work and do what they're mean to do. My grandma and I have that giggle, love it! Just be you. Yeah those little stoves take a lot of twigs. Maybe cut a thick branch that will fit and maybe it will burn longer

Hey Jason, in my mind, hearing raindrops on the flysheet during the night is very very soothing. Now if I was in a hammock like that, I'd be in heaven. But I'd need my little radio to listen to John Creedon in the evening. I have one of those Oco candle lights but never use it. I'll bring it with me next time. What about a video showing how you make your candles?

Two things mate - don't change the way you are. You are the genuine article, and people that complain about it are saying more about themselves. As the firebox stove, love mine. A trick for once you to try. Start like you would a Swedish torch. Take a 4" diameter piece of wood (or one that will just fit the dimensions of the stove) and split into quarters. Put your tinder in between the pieces.
Ah I must try that, I'll be playing around with it again. I think that I rushed myself to get it lighting before I'd finished setting up the rest of the camp because of the midges. Thanks a million 🙌

It can be very hard to find the time to get away even for a little while. I am very happy to hear the videos help when you can't get out. Nice video mate. It looks like the candle actually took care of the midges. Maybe you can do a video showing how you made it. About the wood stove, I'm glad you've shown what a pain in the ass those things are. In the outdoor community these days there seems to be some kind of nostalgic romanticism around cooking on wood flame, but the reality is exactly what you showed there. You can't leave the thing unattended for 5 seconds or it'll die out, not to mention the soot on the pots and the smoke that impregnates everything in sight. Alcohol burners are much better in that sense, and they're quiet too. Not disruptive at all. Great video mate, and that was a beautiful forest.
I'm hoping to get a little video put together soon on how I made the candles. The little twig stove was a real pain, I'll give it another go sometime but I definitely prefer the ease of the alcohol stove that just work and do what they're mean to do. Love your laugh!! I’m an old girl and it took me far too long to be able to be ‘me’ with others, and I laugh as you do, and never been happier than to be able to finally be free- that’s how I think of it. It can annoy some, but it puts more people at ease.
