Dear Jason...nothing warms my heart quite like that infectious chuckle of yours. So glad you bestow it upon your faithful viewers who are so very grateful for all that you share with us. 3 broken discs and w/o work for a month...perhaps with only your eye lashes pain free on your body. Still you are out there tromping through your beautiful country. Sharing it all with us. Nothing but love and respect for you dear friend!
Jason lad, really good to see you back out in your natural habitat 😉 I had a really bad herniated disc this past Oct. The disc was pushing on the nerve roots causing my arse to go numb on me (hold the numb arse jokes 😂) I had to have emergency surgery to correct it. Everything went well but still have some of the numbness. Ever so slowly getting sensation back. So I kind of know a little about what you’re going through. Good to see you on the mend. No apologies needed at all. Don’t ever feel bad about taking time away from your channel to deal with personal events. Your health and family are the top priorities. We’re (your subscribers) not going anywhere. We’ll always be here when you come back. And if, God forbid, you can’t go camping anymore and are stuck doing videos of you sitting by the fireplace with a strong cup of tea in your hand (or ‘other’ beverage 😜) just telling stories, well then I’ll happily tune in to listen! Btw, not sure if anyone has told you yet, but that flap of material velcro’ed on the front of your Carinthia jacket is where the soldier puts their rank insignia sleeve (private, corporal, sergeant, etc.) I’m an ex- Royal Canadian Navy sailor and our military has the same thing. Anyway, keep looking after yourself and all the best from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for your comment, I wouldn't dare make any bum jokes 😄 I hope you get the feeling back sooner rather than later. I'm flat out working on it these days so hopefully I'll be able to keep my back strong so I can keep camping. I was out today for a ramble, probably did a bit too much but I got home in one piece. Cheers for the info on the jacket, I hadn't a notion 😄 Thanks again for your comment. Look after yourself and take her handy 🍀
I like the laughing. You're a positive guy who, I'm sure, laughs through the adversity as much as the plain sailing. Keep it up fella, and the positive people will be right there with you!
I’m new to your channel and really enjoy your videos. Your laugh is so cheerful and your sense of humor is great. I’m in the US; 72 yr old female. I love camping videos and truly enjoy going along with you. My days of doing that are over, so I love going along for the ride. You are very entertaining and a few days ago I got a kick out of your watching Annabelle. Your reactions were priceless. No wonder your wife wants to watch horror flicks with you. Take care of yourself. I’ve subscribed and looking forward to future vids. ❤
Jason, cool to see you getting out in the woods to explore, experience nature, chill and chat👍 Always good to bring a few extra teabags for emergencies☕ and nothing more satisfying that boiling water. A cool jacket for the woods or the mountains👍 It all definitely slows down with a night outdoors or even a day in the woods. A beautiful place to spend some time and be present👍
I'm finally getting back out with my tent today, I can't tell you how much I have missed it. Thank you for all of your videos, they really helped me over the last few months 🍀
enjoy what you do 👍 no need to reply. health & limits are life im now on stroke number 3.. 2 weeks ago but arm & leg coming back lawn needs doing 🏡 ive not camped out in years miss it. watchin you brings it back 🏕 trying to watch all your videos hard to pick which first.. enjoy 😁
I appreciate it Joey, I always try to reply when I can. I work on a rehab ward with people recovering from strokes. I wish you all the very best with your recovery and hopefully joining me on my little adventures helps tide you over until you can get out yourself 🤞🍀
Jason - not sure if you can see the comments after the session ended. When I said car camping, I don't mean sleeping in the car. In Canada, car camping is 'glamping' drive to a national park, set up big elaborate tents with cots, firepits, steaks and coolers of beer.
Oh right I'd definitely try that. I camped beside my car once and it was fantastic not having to lug the gear around. Your version of car camping is a lot better than mine 😄
A man back were he belongs. In the outdoors and on UA-cam. So good to see you back Jason. This was so much fun to watch. My absolute favourite quote is at 44:42 "at the end of the day I'm a full grown man who likes to go to the woods and talk to himself...I just happen to bring a camera" This has got to be the best summary of what we do and how weird it is at the same time! Ha ha ha. I totally loved the video Jason. Thank you
I had a herniated disc a little over a year ago. I required surgery. The pain was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It’s nice to hear you talk about it. Please don’t feel like talking about it is bad. You have no idea how much you talking about it helps me, and I’m guessing a lot of other people with back problems, who want to continue to enjoy the outdoors.
I really hope that your back isn't giving you any grief these days. I try not to let mine dictate what I do in life but sometimes it's hard to ignore 😄
Jason it’s good to see you back out for even just a walk. I know you are not wanting sympathy no one thinks that but as a man somewhat close to your age (probably older)😂😂 who has suffered from sciatica and ruptured disc in his back I do sympathize with you. You are tough as iron brother and I love your videos but be careful and don’t hurt yourself trying to please others because as I learned the hard way you are the only one that suffers! Keep doing what you’re able and God bless you for doing it! Love and well wishes from South Carolina 😀👍🏕️🔥🌲🌳🎒
Good to see you back out fella, despite your ailments. Nowt wrong with getting out in the woods just for a cuppa, no need to camp all the time. And I agree, regarding gear, couldn't care less, it's all about just getting out there for me (and Buddy of course) Had my heart going at the end there, going on that tree over the water! Not even sure I'd have done that! Appreciate the update, but health comes 1st 👍 Hope you're back to full health soon. Look after yourself Take care All the best D & B 👍
New Sub! Feel the same as you. Getting out and about always good for the soul. Me living in London. So look forward to camping. Love your enthusiasm. Hope you get you strength back quick and back to your best for more camps. Good luck to you mate.
I just came for the biscuits - ah well 😪 Fingers and toes crossed all your actions help your continued recovery and that you keep a regular routine on the exercises 🤞 Hope you felt ok after this excursion too 😎
😄 it was a sad state of affairs on the biscuit side of things. I felt really good and I was back out again this morning so happy days. I hope you are keeping well 🍀
Great to see you out again, started yoga and stretching and exercise to help me with my back. Still see my man for the elbows into the behind. Must ask him what's it called the work he does on me, you might be interested. ❤❤
Well Jason lad. I was holding off watching your video. As we spoke previously, I'm only coming right myself now after Decembers reminder that my back is fecked also. Good to see you up and about and out in the woods. No biscuits? Shame on you LOL. Ya have my number, shout any time. Out to you. Walk on.....
😄 I know the biscuit situation was a sorry state of affairs. I hope that your back doesn't give you any more grief from here on. I've learned my lesson now, I'm going to be working on mine every day. Sound job thanks again for that 🙌
Hiya Jason great to see you out again if in some precarious woodland though 😳😂 Think you need to include a regular piece in the videos so we know you are stretching and taking care of yourself. New section to be called ‘Jason’s Ramblings and Guide to Stretches for the Outdoor Enthusiast’ 😂😂 Good to see you are still purchasing despite your vulnerable position 👍🤗 Take it easy mate 😂👍
😄 no better place to be. I'll see after a while if there's an interest I might do a standalone video, I've loads of plans. Some retail therapy never hurt anyone 😉 I've quite a few more bits waiting to see daylight, take her handy 🍀
Great vid...really enjoy your back to basics approach. And your doing really well fella..take ya time...one day, one mile at a time. Take the pressure off yaself to be able to do what you used to before your injurys. Just gettin out is enough to help heal ... Know exactly where your coming from... And still going thru it....constant pain...kidneys, heart, and arthritis... Spent 15 years housebound...unemployed.. So never give up.... Keep pushing thru each day. Love yaself ....
Just discovered your channel. I don’t camp much. Just started this last year at the age of 30. I’ve watched a million bushcraft videos and enjoy them and love them. But it’s a relief to see someone actually go out into nature and not just their backyard to teach a couple knots. Also enjoy hearing you talk. It reminds me that we are all human and we all have hiccups in life. I love that I found something that I can relate to. Keep it up and keep Rambling on.
Fair play, I only started camping three years ago at 32. I thought I was late to the party but it's never too late. I'm still making mistakes and learning. I didn't really have anything that I loved to do until I found camping and making videos. Each week rolled into the next and before you knew it, the year was ending. It's completely different now, I'm living instead of just going through the motions. Enjoy the camps and get out as often as you can 🍀
Noticed that you haven't been on here for a while and wondered if it was your back. There comes a point where you have to look after yourself before us viewers and no one can possibly blame you for doing that mate. If you look after yourself correctly and adequately now, then you'll be able to keep us amused with your rambles for a long time in the future. Take care of yourself
At the moment I'm looking at is as building a solid foundation. Building the initial strength around my spine but soon I'll be just adding to it and hopefully avoiding future back trouble with any luck. I can't wait to be back at it properly. Thanks for sticking with me 👍
@@RamblingOn I once read a phrase somewhere that said along the lines of - 'People used to say 'You look after me and I'll look after you' whereas they should be saying, 'I'll look after me so I'm more able to look after you' You do whatever you need to to take care of yourself and take your time and do it proerly. I remember saying to you in one of your first videosabout using a knide on a steel plate andthat you would soon have an addiction. Now look at you with a fixed blade on th belt, is it one of those ukranian ones? Just started watching, 6 mins in, so sorry if you explain later in the vid. You still have a nose for finding lovely places, tis the season again. Hoping for at least an improvement on last year - one 3 day trip all year.
😄 I remember that. Yeah it's a Beavercraft knife from the Ukraine, it looks the part at the very least. Hopefully you'll get a few more trips in this year🤞I wouldn't mind a few multi day ones but I'll take what I can get
Thanks to everyone who joined the live chat. See you in the next one 👍👍

Oh, and Carinthia is top drawer stuff, made for Austrian military and used by many, especially their insulation gear and sleeping bags.
