I first heard this song in the early 90’s early on a rainy Saturday morning listening to an Irish radio station that did a 70’s half hour. The song just caught the moment perfectly, I spent weeks listening to every Golden Oldies show I could before I finally got it taped. Today it’s one of the most played songs on my iPod!
It actually IS longer than you hear here,as the drums-only intro has been cut off,and I was sure the ending here was a break/false ending after which it started up again for another minute or so with at least one more repeat of the chorus.
It's kind of sad, when I see how many comments reference wishing they were back in this era. Me too. It says so much about about the state of the world today, simple, innocent, and maybe a bit naive. Love to everyone.

This is a superb number, reminds me of a holiday in Eastbourne in 1978 where the hotel bedroom radio (no TV!) was tuned to BBC Radio2. At 5pm the station combined with Radio 1 for the new chart run down, and as I was getting ready for the 'evening meal' this number played'! Don't get me wrong.
