Music of America’s Greatest Generation!
I totally know this!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Youve gotta be in fabulous shape to do this. At 81, I can dream, can't I? I do remember these wonderful times. Thank you.
hahaha. at that age one can do it.
I'm 77 and I want you to know that every day you live, you are getting closer and closer to Heaven, Honey!! I have plenty of evidence that you and I will go to Heaven. Keep the faith. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Marjorie I am jealous that you have lived through those times.
Wow i just enjoy watching these people's dance
I am 71 and dance on Friday at our local senior centers. We have a blast.
Hello ! J'avais à peine 5 ans...et mes parents dansaient sur ces "airs " et oui ! Je suis née dans les "sixtie's" mais bon... les souvenirs ne s'effacent jamais! Good night ! ❤
77 years later and Glenn Miller's "In the Mood" is still one of the greatest swing songs ever written. Only surpassed (maybe) by Benny Goodman's version of Sing Sing Sing by Louis Prima.
My Daddy loved Glen Miller and I am thinking about him right now. I miss him so much. He would be 102 years old.
And say white people can't dance

My Father has Parkinson's disease, but after he walked me down the aisle. He could at least dance a great waltz with my Mother at the reception!

Loving WATCHING THE OLD DANCE MOVES
OMG!! I could dance to this music until I die of a heart attack and I'm 76 years old. The music we use to listen to can't never be replaced. I love, love this music and I miss it so much.My mom said the dance was the "jigger bug", what great ingenuity and movement with this music
Only us oldies know the reality of this music not even our own kids cld dance like us Ima 79
I'm 76 as well, love swing dancing. BUT, we only WISH this was our music - this was our parents' generation. When we hit our teens we were listening to Roy Orbison and Lesley Gore. Just sayin'.
Big Band never goes out of style!!
Glen Miller ❤️
Glen Miller y orquesta inigualables 👏🏼💯👏🏼💯👏🏼
I love swing music and dancing. It's pure joy and fun 😊
Yo I am 65 and remember this. My father was born in Chicago in 1920. Mom was a West Virginian born in 1933. They loved this stuff!
I’ve had this CD for years (originally had the tape). It just lifts your spirits so much. Great to get through housework, except for stopping to dance! Play it for babies and toddlers - they love it and it will be bouncing around right away. Jive Bunny And the Mastermixers!! They have a number of compilations.
There hard to get hold of love
.I agree great dance music love love love it 💗💯
Agree. I got it when it first came out on CD.
Y si por favor conserve esto es lo más maravilloso que pueda ver Ami me relaja me ase sentí de lo máximo

I am soon to be 66 yrs old. While growing up I loved watching my parents dancing like this. They were very well known for their dance moves in our area. Many thanks for the memories!
Мои тоже любили танцевать, больше помню как папа вальсировал 😂👌🏽😇😊.
☝🏻,- танго и фокстрот удавались великолепно 😀
Hi Jackie I'm Peter and I'll be only 50 years old on July 15 and grew up listening to this stuff thanks to my late mother vassa who died on October 16 1988, from a brain aneurysm in her sleep at 38 years old I was 16 at the time and she's the one grew up here in Hamilton Ontario Canada in the 50's we used to listen to Elvis Presley the Beatles, bee Gees and so many others. I'm now a stroke and cardiac arrest survivor and also a colon cancer survivor which just got back home from rehab hospital St Peter's hospital in Hamilton Ontario Canada. Have a nice weekend where ever you are
Me too, it was such fun to watch and we used to all do it at weddings, feels like a million miles away today.
Jackie dude, i'm about to be 40 years old. This music was my childhood, and even if i'm younger, I can relate strongly. I love it, and I love what this guy did here on this remix of Jive Bunny.
Мне 50 всегда хотел так танцевать . Танец это вся жизнь за минуту .
OMG I forgot all about this....I hadn't heard it in YEARS. This was such a great mix of great songs.
This type of music will never die and is a good floor filler. I actually have the full jive bunny set.
🕺💃
Sounds like you love a lively party, well done
I loved watching. I can’t walk anymore but when I watch I can still dance in my mind. Thanks for the joy!!! We had all these records growing up
At 34 years old I love this type of music. I'm not a well coordinated guy but I'll certainly have a boogy in your name when I dance like a wally to this.
It gets me motivated to get up and Moonwalk! And I was in High School when Neil Armstrong did the 1st one! 😎

Love this!! My husband is a super jitterbug dancer! So fun, so happy to have these older songs/videos on You Tube!
Like seeing myself dancing back in the 90's. That was a blast!
I enjoyed dancing this back in the 2000s.
If anyone can dance this in the 2020s Zumba, prepare for old classics' dance to the new millennium.
I'm 75. I loved and still love In The Mood!!!!!!! Loved growing up in the '50s!!!!!!!!!! Wish everyone had that. 💕

All I can think of is fallout3 ...lmao. and learning to swing dance with my fiance 20 years ago for prom! Absolutely love this music...I'm 34 and my momma is 78 so. I grew up on the golden oldies! Before technology and computers and auto tune and whatever else to take away from talent!!! Much love everyone!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ stay curious and be kind always. .even if it seems impossible. Xoxoxo
The hardest thing for me is to watch this with the music turned up and feeling the energy but not being able to dance... this was my life almost every day as a teen. We were always dancing somewhere, the gym at school, the Greek Orthodox church near my house, the lounges nearby or the bowling alley...in the den at my house, at friends houses...we were dancing fools!!☺️ Now I'm old and my time for dancing is past. Thank you for sharing this awesome video!
Soundtrack of my youth 🎼🖤
You're never too old to dance. I've danced with people in wheelchairs.
I can sooo relate to wat you're saying.. it was the same for us. Church fetes, school dances, gyms, parties etc. I felt that there was a huge gap the way jive fell out and hip hop etc entered. Although we still play jive music when we have parties n rock n roll away......its simply fun. Brings back lots of happieee memories 😀
@@updownstate It's not actually that I'm too old, my health won't allow me to. I have heart and breathing problems.
@@sooz9433 then dance with your heart, if you can't, dance with your hair or head. But don't stop to feel this music

Totally awesome! My grandparents taught me their music and how to dance. These people are amazing!
Thank you. They are literally amazing! I love it! Keep it going on, seriously! Fabulous!

Would love to know who all of these dancers are?
I definitely was born 10 years to late. But I remember doing the twist in music class with my slippery shoes dancing with my 2nd grade teacher.

Fun fact, The MasterMixers are a duo that went on after their Jive Bunny days to create and run a massively popular Hard House label called Tidy Trax here in the UK. My old supervisor was best man at one of the duo's wedding and they've been friends since childhood. Back in the day he told me the record publisher bought this very song for £50, yet it went on to be Number 1 in the Uk charts for multiple weeks and must have made the publisher a fortune. When I called BS he bought in a photo from back then of my supervisor wearing the costume and holding the head (as was seen on Top of The Pops). They then went on to make vinyl mashups (a tonne of them 30+ volumes) and my supervisor did a few tracks on them, mostly of house records. Tidy Trax came about after that in the 90s and was sold in the mid 2000s but they rebought it about ten years ago. This Jive Bunny was the first ever album I bought (was on tape, I played it to death and know all the little bits by heart even now apparently) and I was about 8 y/o, so to find that out all that in my late twenties was mad. The first CDJ I owned came from their studio (the second guy producer name was "Bulletproof" and the first guy changed his name in his teens by law to be Amadeus Mozart!). Just thought I'd share for all those Jive lovers out there. Pretty sure this album back then told me I was born in totally the wrong era, I loved upbeat music esp from that period, the dancing and ladies in dresses, and would one day take up DJing which is essentially what Jive Bunny was, but a produced megamix of tunes as opposed to doing it live.
😊😂🎉
❤This one always gets my attention. Reminds me of Chicago street dancing when I was young. And my Mom had that orange chiffon dress.
Ich werde verrückt, habe das eben gefunden.

The 50s,60s and 70s were the greatest music ever. Never to be duplicated or matched
De jó nézni ezeket a szuper táncosokat, kedvenc, az 50-60-as évek dalainak előadóival. Nagyon köszönöm a feltöltést
This goes beyond dance. It's a couple's expression of an era (with new zeal) - the facial expressions, the originality of musical interpretation, and the expressive language through each move. A contemporary and entertaining harmony of dual rhythm. They cover (& well rehearse) all the details to recreate the magic of 'someplace else'. I am still in that 'someplace else'. Thank you.
😊🎉
I can not stopping watching/playing this video, I play/listen to it for hrs.
This compilation must have taken hours to put together but what a treat! Seeing these great dancers is just wonderful! The guy in the grey suit is especially good! And the Glenn Miller prchestra - what a joy!

the guy in the grey suit is one half of 'Nils and Bianca' I believe. they do have other you tube videos, their dancing is brilliant.
I sthere a way we can find out where each of these eclips is from?
I want to watch every single one of them individually
I think you would need to contact the compiler of the video - it could take a long time to go through the clips some of which don't seem to be from mainstream films! Best of luck! @@IntraFinesse
This is what I call dancing...beautiful and too see young people moving to the music is something not to forget..
All this takes me back to my teens /twentys. What great years they were. To think I could dance like that, I can barely walk now
You’re fine, young people can barely walk, today.
Dance is such a gift to mankind. Brings so much joy.
Can’t imagine how much energy it takes to dance like that. Love this song and the last couple it shows ( they’re in it more Han once) are from either Norway or Sweden and have been world champion swing dancers several times
Yes, Nils and Bianca
Jive Bunny and the Master-mixers just love!!! Epic songs such a delight.
Erin and Tami Stevens of the Pasadena Ballroon Dance Assoc. taught me to swing dance 30 years ago and I have loved it ever since. Thank you both for unlocking this joy since I have always enjoyed big band music. I am forever grateful. ❤
I would expect Nils and Bianca to be on this, and as marvelous as always, but MIGUEL ZOTTO? I've never seen him do anything but the tango and the milonga. Who knew he was as wonderful as this? What a delight it all was. Why oh why don't we still dance like this? We'd all be happier.
I’m 78 and loving this version, the Mamas and Papas would be proud what you did with the song that put them on the top!
Nobody dances like that anymore! GEEEZ! Look at the Energy !! and Beauty!!
Best generation for great musical talent
This is the greatest music they have made for dancing yet. Yes I am old and have seen and done most of it by now!
I USED TO JIVE IN THE 1950S AND THE 1960S LOVED IT NOT NOW I'M NEARLY 77 YEARS OLD GOOD OLD DAYS
Same here ❤

I was born in 1955 and grew up listening to different types of music and Big Band and Swing music I've always been partial to. If I'm not in a good mood put on some Glenn Miller and watch my attitude change.
If you have not seen it , watch The Glenn Miller Story, with Jimmy Stewart and June Allyson.

This was a Glen Miller song, it was great, then the good ole old time rock and roll era. Wonderful music. Still great.
I was playing Glen Miller, "In the mood" on my phone in the mall, just sitting there enjoying my break, tapping my foot moving my legs and a woman walked by and said "Oh yeah" and started dancing so I got up and joined her. I had no idea who she was and never danced with her before. We missed a couple steps but nailed all the rest. We got so caught up in the moment we did not notice the crowd of people watching from both levels. Song ended and they all clapped. I turned beet red and made a new friend.

Why does watching this choke me up? Perhaps shocked and then happy to see this dance style still living out there somewhere. Some people have the courage to go where others have forgotten exist. You are all wonderful, thanks for the sentimental journey.
Maybe because like me, this was once your life but now it's part of your past? I remember these times so well. It chokes me up as well because I hate to see those times fade away for good. Joy and laughter to you.🎼🖤
@@sooz9433 You are a darling. Read another post you made. "The hardest thing for me is to watch this with the music turned up and feeling the energy but not being able to dance... this was my life almost every day as a teen". So you were one of those teens living in the moment, congrats. I'm smiling imaging you running here and there, care free and loving life. Were you in to the Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello era, before, later, Steppenwolf or when? It would complete the picture I have in my mind. I myself was in foster homes, a run away etc., was in the army at 17 joined in 1973 till 1983. Now that time in the army was the dance time for me. Discos in Panama City, Panama Canal Zone, Germany : American rock. Back in the states things were different, more of the bar dancing crowd it seemed, lol and I don't drink, but that's the crowd shooting pool and dancing to live bands. Now, nothing like that, I have to mind P's & Q's, cant afford to bust up my body. Your comments are really awesome, gave you a 1/100,000 of a second of your youth back. That's better than not going back. Last few years I tend to live in my past. Do construction (tile contractor) usually have a house to myself, cranking the ipod music from my past, sing, remanence, thoughts darting everywhere. Times when I bawl like a baby for a minute, missing my past. Remember David Cassidy (Partridge Family fame). When he died with his daughter by his side his last words I always remember were "So much wasted time". Guess its easy to judge ourselves now that the gig is nearing its end. But at the moment we lived for the moment. So hopefully you still find time to keep dropping in and finding old memories flirting back to the forefront and give your self the biggest grin knowing that when you were that young before life showed up, young enough to have danced yourself silly. Congrats honey, you lived a marvelous youthful life. Remember George Burns song "I wish I was 18 again". Listen to it here on You Tube, certain lyrics in it are real soul breakers. Bye Sooz cherish our days darling.
"He said, I'll never again
Turn the young ladies heads
Or go running off into the wind
I'm three quarters home
From the start to the end
And I wish I was eighteen again
I wish I was eighteen again
And going where I've never been
But old folks and old oaks
Standing tall just pretend
I wish I was eighteen again
Now time turns the pages
And, oh, life goes so fast
The years turn the
Black hair all grey
Why can't I stop smiling when I'm watching this video? Are these dancers having that much fun?
