The will come after everything, what we drive, what we eat, what we drink, what we smoke, where we go, who we see, who we are, what we think, what we read.... This is all in the plan.

Let’s face it the elephant in the room is that they want to do away with personal transport. They know that EV motorcycles will be way to expensive for young people and for that matter a large proportion of other aged motorcyclists. Manufacturers with out volume of sales will simply either go bust or pull out of markets that only let EV motorcycles to be sold . It’s all about control folks and we sleep walking into it
The same is true of cars, the penalty charge that is going to be levied on ICEs will make them as expensive as EVs and once nobody is buying cars the factories will close down.
The UK Government could not afford to "do away" with personal transport. For starters, they would lose the £35 billion they rake in each year from the UK motorist. Why would they want to abolish one of their most consistent tax income streams? Then there would be the loss of millions of jobs - 800'000 in the UK car production industry alone. Then there would be the jobs lost in oil refineries, petrol stations, car dealerships, garage workshops, the AA and RAC, car body repair shops, tyre fitting depots etc. There could easily be anything up to 5 to 10 million more unemployed. How could this be in any way advantageous or beneficial to the Government? Did you think it was as simple as just getting rid of cars?
@@Brian-om2hh your argument would also apply to cigarette smoking and alcohol sales as they are also big tax earners for the government however smoking is virtually non existent and pubs are closing I accept the health benefits but the government are using the same argument to ban ICE vehicles.

May all sound very tin foil, but all of the pieces are in place, and it's quite opening spoken about by the WEF.
I certainly appreciate MAG's efforts and representation. I'm not sure the politicians are listening or even interested. There's no one we can vote for in this so-called democracy, that's not ultimately pushing for the ban.
I suspect that a similar percentage is in favour of keeping ICE cars. Remember that if ICE cars disappear, there will be no service stations or garages to deal with ICE bikes. We are all in this fight together.
What makes you think it is a fight? What makes you think you can WIN? I mean Really?? Where are you going to buy petrol or gas? Both will be treated like a Class A drug. Getting caught driving a banned ICE vehicle and you will lose your licence. What amazes me are that people think they can win, or are smarter than the Govt Elite.
I disagree, the changeover has already been implemented. Dealerships are servicing ICE vehicles and EV’s and their is no reason for this to change for many years yet. ICE vehicles will be welcomed as with EV’s only very basic maintenance is required. The phaseout will be very gradual and then there will be independents that will specialise in older ICE vehicles. It will take decades for ICE vehicles to disappear entirely.
@@Mr.Grimsdale yes, some EV’s are loosing value mostly due to the volatile market following the covid lockdown that inflated car prices unnaturally. What politicians and non-motorcyclists don't understand is, that riding a motorcycle is not just a way to go from A to B. It's the vibrations, the mechanical sympathy, the freedom, the 'journey'. During lockdown when cars weren’t driving, planes weren’t flying and industry was closed , co2 emissions fell by 5,4%( ask google). So how restrictive do we have to be in order to have a significant effect on emissions? Just a thought.
In Australia the emissions change was a rounding error because 2/3 of the CO2 emissions are from stationary power and 9% from all transport including ships and planes. The variation in light passenger vehicle emissions were -10% which is of course going back up as the business council of Australia is screaming threatening and throwing tantrums about getting people back in to their shitty run down office towers. Forcing motorcycle manufacturers to only make electric motorcycles will kill the industry just as its done with the now "billions in the hole" car industry. The manufacturers follow the regulations from these unelected oligarchs and make only electric motorcycles. Next, the majority customers speak with their wallets and refuse to buy or use them. Within the next financial year the dealers have 1000's of them sitting on the sales floor with slowly degrading batteries further reducing their worth. To move them on they slash prices to a massive loss and the companies and dealers go bankrupt. EVs are a bad solution for a non-existent problem!
On the other hand, China is about to launch a wide range of affordable battery-electric cars into the market, and will no doubt do the same with motorcycles.

it would be interesting to see the percentage figures for UK motorcycles and scooters compared to the global figures. Lets see China and the Asian countries give up theirs first, because the UK numbers won't matter a jot.
100% that's always been my point. look at any tv footage anywhere in india, south east asia, africa etc and you always see plenty of folks on motorbikes. I dont have any figures, but i'd wager we in the uk contribute to a fraction of one percentage of worldwide riders who will just carry on after we face a ban on new bike sales. it's a joke how they can try and force this ban on us under a conning green banner when we all know it's bullshit.
Once the ban on the sale of new ICE vehicles is all sewn up, then they’ll start on removing existing ICE vehicles from the roads through taxation and clean air charges. Your used motorcycle (and mine) are going to be worthless
Most of what I'm hearing is about generic motorcycling, but what we all want to hear about is their specific position on ICE bikes.. It's perfectly clear that when they all dance around this 'elephant-in-the-room' and vaguely claim they will 'listen to' and 'work with' the MCIA and their 'supply chains' that this is solely directed towards electric motorcycle production - Given that every year China's CO2 emissions INCREASE by more than the ENTIRE annual CO2 emissions of the UK I really fail to see how banning something that produces only 0.4% of the CO2 emissions of a country that itself produces less than 2% of total global CO2 emissions will make any difference whatsoever to the outcome of the so-called 'climate catastrophe' (a.k.a. 'Global Boiling' if you're a fan of the increasingly alarmist and ridiculous United Nations..).. To paraphrase the name of the eco-lobby's favourite target, I think that the 'Net-benefits' of motorcycling in the UK with regard to reducing congestion, health and wellbeing, freedom of movement, mobility and the economy in general FAR outweigh the relatively miniscule amount of CO2 it emits.. In response to the question 'what shall we do about it'.. Well, it's become abundantly clear in the past 3 or 4 years that our Westminster 'elite' (of all political creeds) only listens to the lobby that shouts the loudest, so it's clear we need to stop talking and start shouting too if we want to have any chance of stopping these virtue-signalling political eco-zealots taking away our chosen mode of transport, our chosen lifestyle/community and our right to freedom of movement.. Maybe it is now time for a mass ride-in to Westminster, to display to those lounging about within the deadly seriousness of our convictions and our stoic determination to defend them ?...
Would this mean the end of the IOM TT, in time? If ICE motorcycle sales are banned, where would the spare engines and chassis come from? How do the important newcomers realise their dreams? Imports would seemingly be stopped at the border. Dark days ahead, I fear.
@cedhome7945 True, they used to have an electrical bike race but it was canceled. Last time was in 2022, I think. I prefer the machines that make a very loud noise, and can do two laps on a tank of aromatic fuel. A whistling bike does nothing for me.
they still have races for classic cars many dacades after production ceased don't they. if there's enough genuine interest, and i'm sure there will be, people will find a way, and IMHO things always come round again eventually. GL
Just rejoined MAG on the strength of this. I ride a Triumph Rocket, so I'm not shy of a big ICE engine. I however do think that EV is probably the way forward, EVENTUALLY. However today, the batteries aren't good enough, there isn't enough range, there aren't enough chargers, and they don't charge fast enough. Until they can do a like for like with ICE bikes then EV bikes will not take off. The thought of doing something like the NC500 or a continental tour, on an electric bike today is ridiculous.
They are really gonna make me move country. Lift my head from grinding to see they try ban our dogs, ban our motorbikes and tax us for the privilege. Londoners getting squeezed for 3.3k a year for 3rd party only and for that you are not even free to ride, only use as transport. Don't be ridiculous! The EU have stated that motorcycles do not figure in transport plans going forward, so gradually motorcycles will be banned, in the same way that ICE cars are being banned by reducing the number that can be sold each year, and the raising of levies on the ones that are.
sales of EV's are dropping at an alarming rate, and the second hand market for them is on it's arse, let's hope that as more and more people realise it's all a con and sales drop to a trickle the government won't have a choice, especially when the car industry applies pressure on them.

For all the weeping and wailing and gnashing of the teeth, its coming. embrace it. There is NOTHING you can do about it. The pain is only self inflicted fighting this. Even if they left ice bikes alone. Petrol stations are going to be much more scarce/ expensive once all cars become electric ( hopefully won't happen).
Won’t happen- electric car sales are down and the car manufacturers are changing their policies In any case, it was all about getting road charging in place.

Totally agree

I disagree, the changeover has already been implemented. Dealerships are servicing ICE vehicles and EV’s and their is no reason for this to change for many years yet. ICE vehicles will be welcomed as with EV’s only very basic maintenance is required. The phaseout will be very gradual and then there will be independents that will specialise in older ICE vehicles.

It’s a tough choice with the up coming election, with the main parties hellbent on this net zero bollocks.
Have to agree as our local area within six miles circumference used to have loads of filling stations in the eighties but now we have six, mostly attached to supermarkets. One problem is very few electric charging points in them but we oddly enough have four on two main roads as well as a single point in local IKEA!
Reform party arnt as bat shit crazy on this Green lie, and it is a lie, if our Goverment was truly trying to save the planet, they would be planting trees and making new forests, and woods instead of building more and more houses on our green belt land. Vote reform if you want change
Good point about the fact there will be no petrol stations left, they won’t stay open just for bikes will they
It will endup being like Mad Max.
time to ride to London...but the questions should have been, what were the influences on Party aims concerning the whole net zero , CCP pressure through UK based " action groups", WEF pressure , what data sources were used and what information has been ignored, has NH3 ICE or H2 ICE power units been investigated, which manufacturers have been contacted for better ECO ICE designs ....why haven't there been pushes to encourage motorbike over cars, are you trying to eradicate personal transport and freedoms, can you release minutes of all your meetings with any non UK entities regarding net zero...
it would be interesting to see the percentage figures for UK motorcycles and scooters compared to the global figures.
There is no climate crisis
Exactly.
You mean Agenda 2030?
Once the ban on the sale of new ICE vehicles is all sewn up, then they’ll start on removing existing ICE vehicles from the roads through taxation and clean air charges. Your used motorcycle (and mine) are going to be worthless
Used ICE motorcycles sales is going to be booming...such a shame
They already have a e v bike race. this would be an all electrical race meeting
@cedhome7945 True, they used to have an electrical bike race but it was canceled. Last time was in 2022, I think.
I prefer the machines that make a very loud noise, and can do two laps on a tank of aromatic fuel.
A whistling bike does nothing for me.
Probably on their little list.
they still have races for classic cars many dacades after production ceased don't they. if there's enough genuine interest, and i'm sure there will be, people will find a way, and IMHO things always come round again eventually. GL
I went to a steam rally last year. The organisers had laid on a supply of anthracite.
It may not be a crime to drive tired but it's a far greater risk to human life than someone doing wheelies on a 2 stroke in a parking lot. We need areas for people to explore the art of riding. If teens had that you would see less joy rides.
Move where? This is going to happen across Europe and in due course US, Australia, New Zealand, everywhere.
If it's anything like here, the only place you'll be left alone is somewhere poor and dangerous. Road trip to South America? Medellín has a wonderful bike life @@Rabchog
New York USA is just introducing congestion charging….
Don't be ridiculous! The EU have stated that motorcycles do not figure in transport plans going forward, so gradually motorcycles will be banned, in the same way that ICE cars are being banned by reducing the number that can be sold each year, and the raising of levies on the ones that are.
Why are we being dictated to by the EU? I thought we were sold Brexit to get away from the namby nonsense!
sales of EV's are dropping at an alarming rate, and the second hand market for them is on it's arse, let's hope that as more and more people realise it's all a con and sales drop to a trickle the government won't have a choice, especially when the car industry applies pressure on them.
We can only hope and they will have to act once the income dries up. My worry is, if those Liebour w&nkers get in, it will be even worse.@@Bob-ts2tu
We all need to get together and support MAG 100%
When do politicians take any notice of the electorate , for example ;Railway ticket offices and currently reducing Post Office deliveries. Even the so called regulators take no notice of the electorate , their first concern is usually looking after whoever they regulate.
I wouldn't like to be the person who signs the paper banning ICE motorcycles in the UK. If he or she thinks there would be no extremely serious consequences for them (and anyone else involved in passing such a law), they are deluded beyond belief. The backlash against such a measure would be savage, make no mistake.
Lol, the paper was signed years ago, we are just going through the implementation phase now. You expressed your unreserved approval when you locked down, masked up and jabbed up. There will be no backlash, there will only be supine acceptance. Fucking hilarious If it wasn't so tragic.

They are 'listening and hearing', the clichés are so predictable. If all the political parties share the same view on a subject, then your vote is pointless as you are being offered no choice on the matter, because it's already decided. Don't ask for a delay, fight it all the way, because if you give an inch they will take a mile, because if you agree to a delayed change, it's just a conversation on timing.
It is true. Burning Hydrocarbons to propel machines will be no more. It is a waste of a finite resource.
The fractions that make up diesel and petrol will be used as feedstock for other plastics.
If you are that keen on driving ICE vehicles, there is always the choice to join the army, navy, or air force. Or you couild just bite the bullet and drive an EV.
For all the weeping and wailing and gnashing of the teeth, its coming. embrace it. There is NOTHING you can do about it.
The pain is only self inflicted fighting this.
In a couple of years, the market for ICE bikes and cars will fall through the floor. Petrol stations will close. Probably be better directing your energies at selling your ICE vehicles. By 2030-35 you will not ba allowed to buy or sell them.
The only party that is drawing back on the madness of Nett Zero is the Reform Party.
That's where we must put our vote, for this and many other important matters crippling this country that need to be stopped.
They are banning swords as well. It's almost like they're on a banning spree.
PS. I'm not from the UK, so sorry for any spelling misstakes. And it might not be in good taste to comment on other countries politics, but all these bans seem to be pointless and mostly aimed at various sports, hobbies and recreational interests.
Not to mention domestic trade. Reguarding banning swords, i know that various sword related hobbies like Historical european martial arts (HEMA), olympic fencing and historical reinactment is huge in the UK. I can imagine motercyckling is too.
I wish all you bikers the best of luck in fighting this. And the same to the sword community.

Don't get it. Car drivers are normally on there own during driving a car. So a motorbike can take up to 2 persons but they want to ban them. What they forget is that we are not just bikers - we all have cars too…so we are paying large amounts into the public coffers, most of us only ride in the summer months (if we have one). The amount of emissions vs the ships and heavy freight that move goods around the globe is a tiny amount. This is not needed - electric is far more damaging to our planet.

Birmingham has had an original idea - build tower blocks on all the car parks so we'll be forced onto public transport.
The 1.5 million bikers should all descend on Westminster at the same time . All from different directions of course .
There are a few Labour MPs (lead by Barry Sheerman MP) who have been actively campaigning for decades to ban motorcycling. And with a massive Labour majority expected at this year's general election, an outright ban might just be on the cards.

Even if they left ice bikes alone. Petrol stations are going to be much more scarce/ expensive once all cars become electric ( hopefully won't happen).
Won’t happen- electric car sales are down and the car manufacturers are changing their policies
In any case, it was all about getting road charging in place.
I'm afraid it will. Shell have already outlined their intention to cut production of petrol and diesel by up to 40% on the lead up to 2030. The details were in Shell's last business report.
