@fredmercury1314 vehicles maybe do yes. But equipment doesn't. From silent small generators to heavy duty hedge trimmers and strimmers. They're all petrol. Electric will not replace those. In fact, I'll go as far as to say petrol anything will not be replaced anytime soon at all. The government are a bunch of morons that couldn't organise a proverbial free for all P up in a brewery.
The national grid is nowhere near ready for the burden of such draw. The infrastructure for charging vehicles is decades away. Battery capacity and charge speed is nowhere near where it needs to be.

You’ve only got 4,830 subscribers. That speaks volumes to your utter lack of exposure to the many that ride. It needs a lot more effort to get to all people who ride be it bikes or scooters (shock horror, some ride both). You must sell the virtues of bikes not least the low size, weight (thus carbon footprint to manufacture), fuel economy (a rare thing in most mags is how good they can be) and the utter irrelevance of bikes to CO2 production in the UK. That last point is almost key. You need good technical support too and, dare I say it, dressing as bikers doesn’t help the cause when you’re dealing with eco zealots (all parties are just as bad other than Reform). To get any traction with the political parties we need to offer a clear alternative to forced electrification because there is wide public support for reducing emissions and the "we like bikes, bikes are great, don't stop us riding them" argument isn't enough. We should be pushing the benefits of synthetic fuel development: vastly lower emissions, no expensive infrastructure change required, compatibility with all existing combustion vehicles from mopeds to container ships. No more exploitation of the people who mine the materials required to make batteries, and no increasing reliance on China which controls that market. Porsche is leading the way on this, we should back their plan

Electrification is ultimately doomed to fail, that is with all electric vehicles. If people don’t buy them and you can’t be forced to, then the whole pack of cards will collapse. We can help ourselves by not scrapping good bikes that may need a bit of money thrown at them to make them roadworthy, instead of going out and buying new. This is what they expect us to do so that we can be led into accepting electric, by refusing to entertain an electric motorbike or car ultimately we will win because manufacturers will stop making them; which is already starting to happen.

I mean, there must be more to it than just paying an annual membership dues, right? Reddit seems to support forced electrification. There is a divide between the old school and the new school. Can you state what we can actually do, to help advance the aims presented in this video. Go to vote? OK. Vote for whom? @@kinkajoo73 Disagree. That's how Khan won London for the third time running. People conflating far right views with automotive-related causes, such as ULEZ. Because of AI algorithms used by the likes of UA-cam and Twitter, people who watch the same sort of videos get the same sort of theme repeated at them. This gives the mistaken impression that there is a groundswell of public opinion that London is "lost" (or "fallen"), so is England, and so is the west, etc. All that ends up happening is that Labour wins because it's their turn to have a go, Reform and the like get no votes because hardly anyone actually supports extreme views, then the people who've been fed that AI-suggested content sit back confused thinking why, if UA-cam bots all support xyz and see the fall of Rome, why doesn't everyone else? At most it ends up with a punchup at the Cenotaph. Then the merry-go-round continues. Why does this happen? It's because of misconceptions. For example, I was born in Britain and am non-white. According to most Reform types, I am not English or British and should be removed. To where? I have no other citizenship. In this situation, even though I like to ride bikes and want to support bikes, it's actually potentially self-harm for me to support Reform and other fringe parties as opposed to the mainstream ones. I don't know why people conflate bikes with far-right views but it's time this stops, because it's a losing ticket.

Noncombative: If we agree that Motorcycles are a better alternative to other ICE vehicles, is there a reason this energy can't be put into expanding the viability of more modern fuels in motorcycles?
The modern electric car market sprung up from zero to hero in the past decade, and we still have more than a decade now until these planned dates.
Classic and contemporary bikes are likely to still be viable for decades to come, while I don't see the harm in having a wider range of options in the showrooms, as we have seen with cars.
Even buses have managed to go fully electric now. It doesn't seem so much a question of engineering impossibility as much as of equitable implementation.

I live in Australia. I have become aware of your concerns through this platform. I understand that as of 2040 (16 years from now) there will be a ban on the sale of new combustion motorcycles. With that amount of lead time manufacturers have plenty of time to develop alternative fuel sources (be they electric or some other source). According to stats that I've seen there are 1.6 million motorcycles registered in the UK and about 133K units were sold in 2023. If the proposed ban comes into force in 2040 (an it only applies to new bike sales) it would take at least 10 years before all combustion sales were replaced by electric bike sales (at the current annual sales rate and assuming that every combustion bike was replaced by an electric one). That is not to be complacent but it is to hope that whatever the policy is it is announced soon so that bike makers can get on with building the bikes of the future. I've never ridden an electric motorbike (there are very few models available in Australia) and by the time this policy (if it is to be the policy) comes into force at 71 years of age my riding (and probably my living) days will be over. What I hope happens in the UK is that a policy is announced so that the makers all have a direction to aim their R&D at and then bikes appear at affordable prices so that people who want to ride can continue to do so. In my own case I now ride a Spyder but I also have a Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter. O love both but feel a bit safer on the Spyder.

If we split down the votes too much it means Labour would get in and Kier Starmer will go full speed on Net Zero, mass immigration and rejoining the EU. So more stupid European regulation on our way of life! Also if we rejoin the EU it will be digital ids and CBDCS all the way.

West Midlands just had a police and crime commissioner election.
Only 21.7% of the electorate voted. Around a third of that, roughly 7% of the total available voters, chose the winning candidate.
The English Democrat candidate got 3.4%, or nearly half as many votes as the winner.
You only need 10-15% of the currently stay-at-home's to vote for the 'alternative' candidate and the 'main' parties will be floundering.
Go out and campaign for reform, heritage, whatever's in your area.
If the uniparty lose seats they will pay attention pretty fast.

I don’t know how I feel about this video. I am a biker and have been since I was a teenager, now well into my 50s I enjoy it and want to continue doing it, but there is no doubt, for me, that the climate is changing and this change is man-made. Humanity, pumping carbon into the atmosphere, that was previously locked away, in my mind is the major contributor to this climate change. So, are we all doomed, because politicians should reflect the views and opinions of their constituents. But when those constituents, like bikers, want to continue burning fossil fuels and car users want to continue burning fossil fuels and the shipping & transport industry want to continue burning fossil fuels and manufacturing want to continue burning fossil fuels and travellers want to continue flying around the world, and politicians, reflecting all of our wishes, enact policies accordingly, we continue unchanged in the way we have been since the industrial revolution, in my view, we are dooming future generations and we may say so be it because that is democracy, but is it right?
And while I’m mounting ‘the soap-box’, I really don’t get the ‘Save The Planet’ slogan, the planet is going to be just fine - it’s what, 4 billion years old already? And during this time it has experienced hotter temperatures, and greater levels of Carbon in the atmosphere than we have now, and been peachy. No, the planet will likely continue for another 4 billion years or so, right up till the Sun expands and consumes it, no, it’s not the planet that needs saving, it’s life - plants and animals around today, that probably won’t be able to cope with the changing climate and die out, just like loads of species have died out in the past, this will probably include us if we go on as we are, but hell, we’ve been around less than a million years, a blink of an eye, relative to the planet, so does anyone really believe we’re e going to last for another 4 billion years? It’s not very likely, something is going to get us, why not let it be climate change, probably will take a while longer before effects really kick in to the point that we become extinct, well after all our lifetimes, so hell, why not just keep calm and carry on?

You point out that CO2 levels have been higher, historically. Like, ten-fold higher.
So, if CO2, that we've released, is currently only a tenth of previous levels, and is also the primary driver of climate-change.......why didn't the climate cook all life on the planet when the CO2 Was ten Times higher than currently?
Why was there So much more plant and animal life roaming around while the levels were Five Times the current concentration?
Why are the 'surface' temperatures on every other planet in the solar system also changing if our CO2 output is what's changing our planet's surface temperature?
We, sure as hell, aren't leaking CO2 on Mars, Venus, and Mercury, or on the gas-giants which are also changing.
Here's a clue: it's the Sun that controls the climate.
CO2 concentration rise Follows surface temperature rise, because cold water can hold up to five times as much in solution as warm water.
You can be sure the ipcc knows this, full well 👍😉

    • @HRJ1411
      @HRJ1411 5 місяців тому

@@kinkajoo73 I don’t think I’m disagreeing with you, scientists can pretty accurately assess previous levels of CO2 and sea temperatures from the past from deep ice cores from the poles and seeing whether sea snail like creatures shells went clockwise or anti-clockwise, and yes, the planet has been hotter than it is today and had higher levels of carbon in the atmosphere than we have today, these events took place a long long time ago in our planets history, and the planet was fine. Was there life on earth during these times, yes, but this life was not identical to life today, it was life forms - plants and animals that were adapted to that environment, when the environment changed, to something more like we have today, they died out or evolved, but the rate of change was very slow, giving time for evolutionary changes. The rate of change we see today - the acceleration of carbon in to the atmosphere, and the associated temperature rise, has never happened before. The change is taking place too quickly for evolution to be able to effectively adapt, so life on earth today will probably get to a point of extinction, the planet will keep turning and new life forms, suited to this new environment will take over, when / if this happens, I just don’t think it will include us or most of the plants or animals around us today. The dinosaurs had a good run, lasting for much longer than we’ve lasted, or are likely to last given the impact of climate change, so we die out, or vastly die back, as our environment and food sources will likely be radically different on earth. Regarding other planets - meh, not that bothered unless we could move there?

Now what i really don;t understand is why people give their fully and unconditional vote to a politician. If you're not happy with any of the politicians, don't vote, for me that's easy. If any politician is mandating the EV car or motorcycle, that is a politician that doesn't get my vote at all. The government in any city or country, is only fully occupied with themselves. The people is only needed when the politicians need a vote and they will ask for it and even get it. I learned a long way ago, if you're not happy with something, are you going to pay for it? Are you going to buy it? In those cases it's a now, so why just do that when the politics want your vote? The EV part is mandated by people who the politicians want to have so they will do anything what the those people ask. So the politics push the EV through, even though more and more sales are dropping dramatically, companies are dropping the transition to EV. Just take my advise and #StopVoting

If this is the future of motorcycling then so what. To me it’s still motorcycling, but it has an extra dimension to it. It’s utterly exhilarating and tremendous fun, and a completely different sensory experience. Don’t knock it until you try it!

Make sure you blame the EU for everything

You have just given me a good reason not to support MAG. It’s just an anti EV forum. Promote motorcycling regardless of how they are powered.

I don't think petrol bikes should be banned but people dismiss EVs before they have even tried them. I've driven dozens of electric cars and a couple of electric bikes and some of them are amazing. Sure the range on the bikes isn't there yet, which is why I haven't bought one, but I have no doubt there will be plenty of options available by the time I am "forced" to buy one (if ever that happens)
Going to the government and just saying you want to keep your loud, polluting toys because reasons isn't going to get you very far.
Why don't MAG focus their efforts more on the real reasons why motorcycling is in decline which is the high cost of entry for getting a license and the ridiculous insurance costs?

You have an EV if you want, let us have the freedom and choice to have a loud and polluting proper motorcycle too.
I started riding in the 80's, still love my 2 stroke motorcycle, I have ZERO interest in this battery crap that's being pushed.

@@steveclark.. that's cool. I had a two stroke as well and loved it (when it worked) but sales of 2-strokes have effectively been banned for over 20 years and you can still ride yours. Nothing has been proposed to remove older vehicles off the road that I know of

Well said. This MAG shit show shows motorcyclists in a bad light. Negative, unimaginative, uneducated old fools. I’m not in that camp, MAG are not representing me.

3,500 riders attending the Ride for Life, meeting might disagree, and I believed they raised £20k for the Air Ambulance to boot.
