I just received my first Oliver Wicks product. I bought the navy pick and pick blazer. It fits perfectly. I'm in shock at how well they did with the fitting. Thanks for your reviews!
Nice suit however i think the fabric in your tie does not serve it well. It looks like you have one of these Gentleman's Box type cotton ties and that would best match a linen jacket not refined wool/silk. A litte tie dimple would be a nice touch as well.
My first OW suit looked good as a static display but once you moved around it just showed it's flaws. After getting with thier customer service and sending pictures they will replace it, hopefully that one will fit better so I can go ahead and order another one. Really good customer service at Oliver Wicks!
I just received my suit from Oliver Wicks. The coat needs a minor alteration to get the collar to sit perfectly flat, but the shirt and pants fit perfectly. The fabric is very nice and overall it is a good purchase. I have strange measurements, 6'1", 44R with long arms and 33" x34" pants. Buying off the rack requires entirely too much tailoring work. This was a great alternative. But here's why I would strongly recommend Oliver Wicks, the customer service. Seriously, in an internet age where you can compare instantly price, fabric color, etc., customer service is what separates this company from many of the others. Without getting into the details, there were some issues with the order that were entirely my fault. But Sabrina at Oliver Wicks, worked very hard to solve the issue and make sure that I was entirely satisfied with my purchase.
Love to hear that Michael! The best part is that once you update your measurements any future shipments will be perfect! Glad it worked out and hope it lasts you many years
The fit of this suit is better than those of your previous suit! I think this is very positive, a move in the right direction. I do think you should consider going back to the Four in Hand or Albert/Victoria knot.
Just received my first Oliver Wick suit based upon Kavalier's first assessment and I am very pleased. I purchased a basic very dark brown suit (at night this suit would pass, yes I know brown is not supposed to be evening wear and I'm somewhat conservative in my taste but I am not controlled by those who say no to my yes) as I didn't want to risk this amount of $ on an online suit but upon receiving the suit my worries were put to rest. The length of the pants will have to be shortened by about 1/4 of an inch, big deal, no problem. I'm telling you guys this suit sits on my body better than any suit I own.
this brand is the most underrated in the world of suit supply and other MTM suit brands that are popular. Their customer service is the best! Top notch and the prices are reasonable.
Love the suit combination of pairing with the monk straps ... I've never considered ordering a suit over mail order but I'm thinking I might venture a try.... I'm normally a Nordstrom or Bloomingdales suit guy.... unless I want something special for a event then I'd invest in something from brooks brother or BARNEYS. Great monk strap! I'm a cole haan sort of guy as everyday but for special events I'm a fan of Salvatori Ferragamo ....
I was ready to order an Oliver Wicks suit until I found out that they use a “skin-fused” method even on their full canvas suit jackets. I’m worried that this negates the benefits of the canvas jacket (breathability and resistance to “bubbling” as the glue joint fails). Do you have any thoughts about this?
Really appreciate the unbiased review of these made to measure companies. I was going to buy from indochino, but am definitely going to order from Oliver wicks or black lapel now. I'm fresh out of college and was looking to buy a professional suit for work. Thank you so much for your expertise and advice.
Thank you for the super-helpful (and honest) reviews. This suit fits you perfectly; maybe even a hair better than the Oliver Wick suit. When you took your measurements to send to them, did you follow their (video) guide to the Tee, or do you modify things slightly since you have learnt a thing or two from all your orders and how they turned out? Any tips on that? TY!
Followed the video on the first one, then for the second one I just made slight tweaks on the site (-2cm here, -4cm there) but still haven't nailed which measurements are my exact ones to send to every company.
Thank you for these reviews, they are very helpful. I've been considering an OW suit and noticed they have an unpadded shoulder option, but I can't find any pictures comparing the padded vs unpadded shoulder. What did you get on this suit? Thin padding or no padding?
The problem you have with the shirt is the exact same problem I have with Kamakura Shirts. I've never owned an Oliver Wick's shirt, but judging from the video I believe they use similar fabrics. I think that's just a common problem with the nice fabric they come in.
Hi I am interested in trying out Oliver Wicks. I just went to Indochino about 3 days ago for my first MTM suit. It is in the making now. However I asked Indochino for my measurements and they will not give it to me. What measurements does Oliver Wick need from you when you want to place an order? How did you get yours? Did you measure yourself? Thanks in advance!
I'm getting married later this year and have begun my tux research. Obviously, I'll be looking at O.W. Do you have any other resources you would suggest? Sven recommends a full canvas build and I see O.W. can do this for an up-charge, thoughts? Would a tailcoat tuxedo by over the top? Ha ha! Thanks for your time.
Bet too late, but for the others out there, can't go wrong consulting the bride. ;p Second, consider if you want to wear later and could if a tailcoat. Third, kind of like the first, but applies to all suits: consider when worn. If going to be all season in a temperate or warm climate, or run hot, consider a half canvas will be a little cooler. But, a full canvas will mold better than a half and drapes better. Hope this helps.
Can you explain the measurement process. I don't trust in my ability to measure myself even if they send instructions. Is it possible to have a tailor measure me and then send those measurements to Oliver Wicks? Also, do they send you the actual apparatus to measure yourself, or do you have to provide your own?
For my wedding here in Scotland I had a fully bespoke outfit in the traditional day wear style, so a kilt and tweed jacket and waistcoat. While being measured I asked the tailored to make a note of all my measurements for me and also kept them updated throughout the various fittings I had. That way I can more accurately provide a my measurements with a jacket i know fits. Although kilt jackets are shorter than suit jackets. I still had the tailor give me all the measurements for a suit as well, so I can order online.
Took me around 3-4 months to get my first OW suit right and I'm really happy with it. Do you think the second time around after they update your measurements from tailoring it fits awesome out of the box? Did you tinker with your measurements at all?
The suit looks damn good to me. It'll never be absolutely perfect just because of the fact that it's obviously MTM and not bespoke. I'm in the process of ordering my second one from them. I should be ordering within the next couple of weeks. The first one wasn't terrible so I'm definitely looking forward to see how this one turns out. Also looks like you just missed their shoes + suit sale they have going on!
I see you've got a bit of neck roll which is my problem with 100% of all suits off the rack. I am wondering if MTM will fix that problem. Any suggestions on how to get a suit that will fit my upright posture and eliminate neck roll would be greatly appreciated. Oh and, GO PENS!!!! What a game last night!
Those double monks are FABULOUS looking BUT, you can tell the bottom will fade quickly and easily that it will fade on the sides also. I have some banana republic monks and they did the same. I can tell when you did a 360 on them. Made very well for appearance but I think cheap on the bottom and sides. Your opinion my friend?🙏🏼🙏🏼
Maybe but I am not sure what the life on them -should- be I have worn these a lot already through many airports and countries in the past 6 months so I am not willing to write them off too fast. I'll have to compare to something like AE or Paul Evans
Looking for another suit right now. Suit Supply is opening up a store near me this month. I am after best quality possible, but I haven't been able to determine if suit supply or OW has better quality.
They source their materials from the same weaving mills, generally. Suit Supply is generally very liked, because of their wide range of fit options. There's something for everybody. I haven't tried OW though.
Definitely some fit issues in the collar/gorge area, and looks still slightly too roomy in the chest/waist which could all play together. Just sth to consider. Personally, I'd trim up the sleeve width a notch as well. Btw shirt's fit I think is great ...
The sleeve pitch is off (see all the sleeve wrinkling and bunching from front and back), which is what keeps me from trying one of these companies. Thanks for the review.
It looks like a real great suit! It has that nice pattern an I think it is a very nice grey (to me charcoal has to be a shade darker to call it that way but that is a diffrent story)and I do like the style of the sholders and the lapels. It aint exactly cheap, but it doesn't cost the whole lot either, so chances are Iam going to order an Oliver Wicks. However very much a suit I would only wear dark socks with. Regardless of what some hipsters may tell, sockless works only with suits in a very lite color (white!) and then the ones with a very edgy cut (narrow lapels and very slim trouses with a jeanslike cut). If it would be too hot for socks, I would neither wear a suit like this one. :')
Fit is better than the other one, but still not great. Consider using a four-in-hand over a half-Windsor. That knot is ugly as hell. Also, Bulgaria is about as far from Western Europe as you can get while still being in Europe.
Learn to tie your ties with a dimple and it will look much better. Your windsor in this video hangs a bit sad from your neck. If a normal four-in-hand is too flimsy for you try a double four-in-hand for sprezzatura. To your suit... It looks... fine while you stand still. The moment you move its terrible. The armholes look very low. When you raise your arms everything pulls upwards. -> higher armholes The back is untidy between your shoulders. Sleeve pitch is not perfect. The last two things cannot! be fixed by measurements. This has to do with your posture. Online made to measure is not very good at figuring that out unless you give them very specific instructions. The trouser needs a higher rise. Especially for a tall man like you. It looks a bit unproportional otherwise. The trouser legs are slim to the point that the trouser is not draping cleanly over your legs. I think clean lines are more flattering? Have you ever thought about a higher collar for your shirts? You have a long neck wich is accentuated by the low shirt collar. Please dont take this personally. I just cannot stand the phrase "MTM gives you the perfect fitting suit" because it is not true. The idea of getting a perfect fitting suit from the comfort of one's own home is obviously a very seductive one, but in truth it is impossible, especially when you only use 7 or 8 measurements. @The Kavalier, if you want to get a better understanding of the depth of a true MTM process, and fit more generally, I would suggest going to your nearest SuitSupply and signing up for their MTM programme. I would recommend going to store to get the measurement of you body instead of do it yourself and send your measurement in because we are not professional at this. I am not sure how my much you spent on your suit. Your jacket looks pretty bad. It doesn't fit you well. At least, it doesn't look fit you well.
Suit looks great. Your shirt collar is too big and a full windsor makes you look like Ronald Reagan and makes your head look tiny. Also, ugly tie, not elegant. Love your channel.
“Fit’s well....” not “fit’s good....”. Learn some grammar. Jacket is too short and trouser rise is too low. Should not be a triangle of shirt below buttoning point. Pants too tight and cling. All in all may be currently fashionable but is not a well fitting suit. Nothing “perfect” about the fit of this suit.
You should pop-n-lock at the end of your videos to show how well the suits move when you're dancing! LOL. Seriously, very informative video-Thanks!
I just received my first Oliver Wicks product. I bought the navy pick and pick blazer. It fits perfectly. I'm in shock at how well they did with the fitting. Thanks for your reviews!

How would you say Oliver Wicks MTM suit compares to one you would get through Men's Warehouse or Joseph A Banks?
Hii,i like this suit better than your first OV navy suit. This second suit has nicer wider lapels!
Plastic buttons? Any hand work? Cut button holes? I cant determine from their website. Thanks
You look really great in this suit - you’ve obviously done your homework on your sizing, does fit you better than the first suit.
I bought a double monk straps inspired by this video. You have great communication skills
Bulgaria is about as far east in Europe as you can go lol. C'mon, I know you have Google Maps!
im sure he misspoke

The suit looks great! On the OW website it looks quite a bit lighter. 🙂

I just bought the deep blue wool and silk, I can’t wait lol
Do they have options with being unlined, unstructured, etc - lighter italian style vs structured english style…?
We needed more closeups of sleeves and the back.

The Kavalier oh wow! I didn't know you were wearing these shoes for quite a while.
Which lining option did you get on that suit? I'm not seeing that color on the customization menu.
I've been waiting for this review. It's helped me make my mind up to use OW.

What's the leg opening measurement?
Are your Oliver Wick suits half-canvas or did you go with the full-canvas upgrade option?
Half canvas
Might go full canvas on my next one from them ;-)
I am not sure if you already answered this, but how wide is your lapel in this video? is it 3" or 3.75"?
3"
Are the pants mid or high rise?
they should work their peak lapel option

I'm already dressing better after watching your videos
are the shoes full grain leather?
Where did you get that tie?
Dang, looks like they don't offer that color suit lining anymore.
where are you able to request the pull tabs? didn't see that option during customization.
+hotrod3769 possibly only available on some of the models? Might be in "more customizations"
hotrod3769 yup there should be a "more options" or whatever at the bottom of the customization window
Alex 1611 found it thanks.
Great suit buddy!!
I actually live in Italy lol maybe I should get a custom suit from a good store.
Kavalier, your site keeps asking for an email address even though I entered my email.
Hey, how much did you pay for this suit?
Can't find my order but I think it was $599
@@The_Kavalier Thank you, appreciate it!
beautiful suit!
One question. How tall are you?
6'4
I'm curious, is he wearing biege colored socks or is he sockless?
Biege colored socks sound weird. I was sockless here
The Kavalier, thank you for replying to my question. btw, I'm an artist and I think you have very nice looking bare feet, well taken care of.
Those armholes are cut ridiculously low on top of a low pitch.
It looks like a real great suit!
-> higher armholes
The back is untidy between your shoulders.

I like the cut of your jib.
MTM sort of gives you the perfect fitting suit if you actually meet a nice sarto from Italy, get a suit mtm, downside is, it costs like hella monnnnaiiie
