I have two small corrections to make - sorry about that! Number 1: Over half of their suits are currently made in Portugal, soon to be all of them. Number 2: Many of the additional options I would have liked to see are actually available, but not shown during the process to avoid overwhelming people. The team at Oliver Wicks put a list together: -Jetted pockets - our pockets are tailored in such a way that if you put the flaps inside the pockets, no one would be able to tell that there are flaps, so they become jetted pockets. This way you have both options. Still, if they prefer, we can certainly tailor the pockets without flaps upon request. :-) -As for double-breasted jacket orders, we only carry a 6x2 pattern for the jackets, which can be selected on the 3rd step of the customization process. (We also have a 4 button double breasted design, but for the time being it is only available for tuxedos: www.oliverwicks.com/product/blue-sharkskin-double-breasted-tuxedo) -Double pleats can be requested with a note at checkout. -As for reverse pleats - maybe he means "forward facing pleats", as we currently offer only reverse pleats. At this stage we don't have an option for forward facing pleats, I am afraid. -Higher Rise - if they prefer higher/lower rise, they can let us know in the comments field and we will ask them for a crotch measurement from an existing pair of pants that has the desired rise, so we can tailor the pants according to their preference. -Higher Waistband - we don't offer what you're referring to, but we have the option for a bit wider waistband - 4 cm (instead of the default 3 cm). -As for fully unlined jacket - we can tailor a quarter lined (buggy lined) jacket, which only has lining in the shoulders and sleeves - this option is not listed on the website and applies only to single-breasted jackets (with side vents, no shawl collars, and no slanted pockets), so they can request it with a note in the 'Order notes' field on the final page of checkout. -Button fly (or pants closure with buttons instead of a zipper) - we do not offer this.
Thank you for posting this extra info! I've got a couple of their suits and was thinking of more. I wasn't aware of a couple of these options. Very good information!
Thank you for the information, I was worried high rise pants were not available which would be a deal breaker for me but since it is not only an option but made with exact measurements I will be looking to get some suits in the near future.
this brand is the most underrated in the world of suit supply and other MTM suit brands that are popular. Their customer service is the best! Top notch and the prices are reasonable. Lastly, they're made in Europe - Not China. Fabric samples are also available if requested.
I placed an order 48 days ago for a deep navy blue suit. Unfortunately, 11 days before my wedding they told me they made the suit in brown instead of blue. I'm awaiting my refund at the moment. I would be cautious while ordering through them.
I'm sorry to hear that! Things like that can happen, but it's really bad if the suit was meant to be worn on a certain day. Even though I never had an experience like this with Oliver Wicks, I always recommend to order many weeks or even months before the wedding or event will happen to be completely sure everything turns out the good way. I certainly hope you were able to find another suit in the meantime!
Hey love your videos, I’m planning on purchasing an Oliver wicks mtm suit and this really helped I’m also debating on purchasing a tweed suit, are their any good online brands that make fine tweed suits? Their is one called Walker slater but I have not seen many reviews about them. I’m currently debating on purchasing a fine grey tweed three piece suit or a mtm Oliver wicks suit
I am doing research for my wedding suit for custom MTM and you have created the best video by far for Oliver Wicks. I have been looking at other made to erasure places but Oliver wicks seems the best. Great tips! Thank you!
When providing your measurements, do you choose Slim fit or Tailored fit? I'm looking to order my first tuxedo from Oliver Wicks and wondering if the Slim fit may be too slim and "trendy" for my liking. I have a similar build to yours so I would appreciate your input!
Hello Thomas! I'm pretty sure I went for a Slim Fit on both of my Oliver Wicks suits. It's not too trendy for my taste - for a tuxedo, a rather classic fit might be more appropriate though. That's up to you, I guess. ;-)
Can you also do some videos on summer styles? I live in Singapore and it’s warm all year round, will a wool suit from Oliver Wicks be too warm? Or should we go for Linen suits? You should also check out Lanieri :) Cheers
Sure! At the moment it's pretty cold in Germany, the summer content will probably start in April or May. And I own a couple of shirts from Lanieri, but my experience has not been the best so I stick with other services. :)
@@SartorialStyles were you able to get a split waistband on the higher rise trousers? Hard to decipher if that's an option (comes standard with Lanieri). I don't work for Lanieri, just on the lookout for the best of the best. I made an order of VBC super 150s from Oliver Wicks this week so time will tell. Did you end up going with padded shoulders? Pleased with the fabric?
No, Oliver Wicks does not offer two button waistbands. The Super 150s fabrics from Vitale Barberis are great, I'm very pleased with the fabrics. The drape is very good and they are fine yet sturdy enough to be worn regularly. I went with the slight shoulder padding on both of my suits.
Yeah, the jacket is on the tight side but still absolutely wearable in my opinion. For my latest Oliver Wicks suits we updated the measurements and the fit is better. Keep in mind this was the first garment they ever made for me - considering this, the fit is pretty decent actually!

Very nice once again Benjamin! I was wondering if Spier and McKay could be explored, they have my interest.
They've been on my radar for a year or so, but I have never tried them out yet. In case I do, I'll make a video about them. :)

I was completely unaware that you had a youtube channel! Very nice!
The channel was quite inactive for a couple of months, but a few weeks ago i started uploading weekly on Saturdays. Glad you found out! :)

Why don't you just go for an Oliver Wicks Tweed Suit? ;-)
Wonderful review! Highly elegant and extremely mature. Just subscribed.
Thank you very much, appreciate it!

Your suit looks like a slim fit, what directions did you give them for that?
Just let them know you prefer a slim fit via the 'comment' field during checkout. :-)
@@SartorialStyles Did you tell them you wanted a slim fit?
How high above your wrist do you have the sleeve go? It looks quite short now that I pay attention.
Yes, it is a bit short indeed. On the second suit (the grey one) the sleeves have a better length. :-)
Are the lapels the Wide peak or the standard peak?
Do you recommend somewhere where one can get made to measure jeans?
A video about this topic will be published in about 2 weeks actually, stay tuned! :-)
Since you went with half canvas construction, did you consider Lanieri? Did you wish you upgraded to full canvas for the added structure and draping?
Yes, I did consider Lanieri. I will probably try them in the near future. :-)
And I don't own any full canvas suits, so I can't compare to be honest.

Thanks!
Did you order the suit too small? The jacket fit is terrible. Aside from the poor fit of the jacket and trousers the fit f the suit is great.

Nice video! Very very nice double breasted Oliver Wicks suit!!
Thank you very much!
