YDOC Productions - thanks for the kind words! Still have to go through the ZF-5, 1356 t-case, and the 7.3, but we're definitely making progress towards getting it back on the road! Scott

Thanks, Roy. There's something really satisfying about cleaning up a grimy rusty old piece of machinery and making it look and function like new again. Scott

No shims on the front Dana 60 (I’m doing my inner seals right now and am worried I’ll need a case spreader ) thank you for any advice ,great videos !

Hey great work I have now watched this video more than a handfull of times but now it is my time to shine! Just wondering about the pinion preload, basically try to match the same preload number collected from the inch pound torque wrench as best as possible if only changing the pinion seal? Thanks!

Antoine - That's correct -- you want to match the preload from before the seal was changed. Scott

If reusing the pinion nut, you may want to put some red loctite on there. I debated putting outer axle seals on mine too but read conflicting opinions on them. My biggest worry was trapping water inside the axle housings. Any plans to check the gear pattern and pinion preload?

David - good point on the Loctite - I mention this in the comments, but after I finished shooting the video, I removed the pinion nut and added Loctite. I actually did check preload, but it was sloppy - I waited until I had the case installed along with the new seal. I should have done it without the case and with no seal, shooting for 8-10 in/lbs. Since I didn't use the correct procedure, I decided not to include that in the video. I'll check the gear pattern if it howls, but if it's nice and quiet, I'll consider it good to go. Thanks for the input! Scott

Do you have a link to the Amazon seal installer you used?
