5’11 and a half, this man is humble
🙏🏾
“average sized” 🙂↕️
Right! 😂 The average male height in the USA is 5'7"
That guy is definitely modest with his statement.
@@capn.c5321Average US male is 5’9. Global male average is 5’7.5.
😂😂 he had to. As a 6’2 and a 1/2 man I don’t approve
It’s cool that Mazda still makes these.
They sell pretty well actually
I think it's beautiful that they still do. Mazda has been on the comeup and everybody has been sleeping
too bad they're so overpriced in Canada
@@ufork mazda has been cooking lately
@@skylinefx049 ong. Love to see it
Yes, "a proper-looking engine bay," containing a longitudinal engine you can actually see, without being concealed by a tangled mess of tubing and wires. I appreciate that.
tubing, wires, and a plastic cover.
god, I hate the last one.
Thanks again for showing me the capabilities of my car. I just made it past break in period yesterday so I’m ready to rev it out! I almost 💩 myself every time you drive lol
I discovered Topher thanks to Que. Lol. Love the collab
Your car is the BEST ! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@sunnyvalentino 🙏🏾
You are brave! And there's no backseat! lol.
Hope to buy one soon but for the moment living it with your reviews. First car way back when was a '62 Austin Healey 3000, this is the refined evolution of that without a doubt. Got to end up where I started....
You and Que should team up more often, I loved this conversation. I thought wheels and tires would be my first mod, but now I'm leaning towards exhaust! Can't wait for Que's exhaust videos!
Goodwin Roadstersport Race is a fantastic option. Good volume but not too loud. No drone at lower RPMs.
@@VictorPitstop I second this. Their Superstreet is great too. Same sound signature but just a tiny bit quieter and comes with a baffler that you can attach for long distance trips if you don't want it that loud for 10 hours on the highway.
Thanks a lot! I’m getting my exhaust put on right now. I’ll post it next week🫡
Videos with Substitute Topher and and other friends are great. Always great to have more than one perspective and some humor.
@@BN99239 I'm leaning heavily towards the super street for sure.
One of the greatest sports car ever made. As you get older you begin to realize you don’t need power to have fun and in fact high power comes with high cost.
Yep. Big hp belongs in boats. Lots of weight lots of drag. Or if you’re towing.
Ayyyeee good to see QTC in a Topher vid. Been following the dude as he’s living my car dream owning both an ITS and now he has the audacity to also own a Miata. Great collab vid!
Same! Love both these dudes
Que seems like a cool dude! Glad to hear the ND3 steering changes are a big improvement
My MX-5 arrived at the dealership today after ordering it way back at the end of January. Picking it up tomorrow!
Greetings from Germany. Still driving my ND1 with 130k on it. You made me buy one with your videos. Such a beautiful car and so reliable... Love it.
So happy to see what seems to be growing interest in these things. Lots of people getting out of high horsepower land barges to get something more driver focused. Love it!
These, brzs, and caymans are the goats of tracks. And ofc im biased as an evo owners but evo and stis..... duh
Vote for the Goodwin Racing Super Q exhaust here. I had that on my 30AE and loved the dual nature the baffles offer. Nice, mature noise. It is a bit quieter than some other offerings.
C'mon Mazda, give us a green on tan special edition... I'll be the first in the line!
This is the scheme I want, a nice dark green metallic paint with saddle nappa leather.
I don't think they've had green/tan since 2001. Never selling my 97M either!
So dope to see Que getting a collab with the og triple og legend Topher. Que makes such incredible down to earth car enthusiast content especially for the hot hatch/niche small enthusiast vehicle category.
I know I was shocked to see him, love his content for that exact reason
Taking delivery of my own tomorrow, thanks TheTopher for dropping a pov just in time!
Still my dream to drive an ND one day. So glad they still make these cars, I hope theres still plenty around by the time I can get my hands on one
I bet there will be , there’s still a ton of na Miata’s all over the place lol
More collabs with QueTheChaotic, please. I like the combo of his laid-back delivery and good knowledge.
This is dope. 2 of my favorite cartubers!
🙏🏾🙌🏾
My day is always made when I see another Miata video, especially from you two. LET'S GO!
🫡
Que and The Topher - Two great tastes that taste great together.
Thanks for buying these enthusiasts cars, Que! It allows the automakers to keep making them, I hope I can get one too soon!
omg 😱 “steering response love that❤
thats a nice friend to let you drive his brand new car! thanks for the video!
Cool to see you doing a video with your viewers.
Ordered mine a few weeks ago. Just waiting on Japan to build it now 👍
Miatas are my favorite videos of this channel
Goodwin racing exhaust was so surprisingly light and easy to install. 12 lbs - could pick up with 2 fingers and uses only 3 of the 4 hangers. Usually $400, got for $220 used.
Guess what I got installed today?😅
Great collab I own a ND2 myself one of my best purchases.
I’m a simple man, I see Topher and Que, I hit the like button
Hero
Que is AMAZING. Subbed him since he was under 1000 folks
Hero!
I got a Mazda CX-30 last year and watching this video makes me want a second vehicle 😆
You can actually see the new Easter egg they put in the Miata for 2024 at 4:10 near the passenger door😮
I have the 2017 version of this, looks exactly the same. So much fun to drive, like 200 hp go-kart.
I've made this comment on Que's channel, but it's still true. I'm SALIVATING watching this video. I just rec'd notice I have a VIN # on my 2024 MX5 GT soft top (Soul Red Crystal) and will be arriving the end of June. CAN'T WAIT!!
I did not expect this cross over 😮
Last Miata video of yours I saw, I didn't have one. Now I have an NC2 and couldn't be happier. Whatever the gen, Miata is always the answer.
It’s so true!
Que is a really cool dude. Been following him for a bit and really appreciate his taste in cars
Much appreciated!
Not the collab I was expecting lol. Just found Que's channel like a week ago.
I would suggest Progress springs and or Progress sway bars both front and rear.
The Goodwin twin tip race is a great exhaust
Keep in mind changing out sway bar on the front of my ND2 was not hard however did take a few steps. I ended up doing both mine and a friends Club with the same Progress sway. It took me two hour for mine. His took me just over an hour with his assistance. I suggest when you watch a video showing how to install the front bar, just cut the stock bar on one end and just pull it straight out easy as pie. I used a small grinder to cut it from Harbor Freight about $20 bucks.
The back bar was 30 minutes. Simple
Cost total for bars and springs including adjustable end links was right at $1,000.00 for my buddy.
I actually went with the Ohlin Coil overs along with the Progress sway bar kit from and rear. On top of that I did a Roadster Sport one piece front strut tower brace.
And I could not leave well enough alone and did the Roadster Sport 4-2-1 header, Roadster Sport midpipe, and the Twin tip race.
If either of you two drove mine, you’d be laughing so hard because it handles like a baby Porsche 911 now
Hurry up and throw an exhaust on this car. It will completely change the character of these cars.
Yeh make it loud
Goodwin race muffler ftw!
@@VictorPitstop that plus some swaybars really make the car feel special
@@dre32pitt I just got some RE71RS tires and OH BOY, it’s a grip monster now! Totally new car!!
@@VictorPitstop I actually like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's as I can drive a bit more like a hoon, lol.. predictable slip n grip..
Woah! I just watched Qs video yesterday! Epic crossover
🫡
Smooth ride, efficient performance.
Bring the flip up headlights back ha ha
You're not wrong
A cool novelty, to be sure, but totally impractical in today's world with much stricter headlight regulations.
@@dlg5485 yeah unfortunately, take me back to when cars used to be fun and the government didn’t control everything.
@@YeoldeOrange Not all regulations are evil, as so many people on these discussion pages love to suggest. In many ways, cars are better than they've ever been. I think people sometimes let nostalgia about their favorite vehicles of the past, which is romanticized, cloud their perception of the current reality, which is pretty great if you ask me.
I don’t know if I’d go that far, I feel like modern cars are overpriced and less quality. To much technology, let’s wait 20+ years and see if any of em are still on the road. Truth is too that no mechanics want to work on new stuff cause all the tech is just annoying to deal with.
As an ND2 owner, I'm so jealous of how fast the infotainment boots up.
Finally the new infotainment
This dude buys more cars than Carmax. And I’m here for it lol
Ayeee I know those roads!!! Good ole Mitten roads
Good-Win and Racing beat and of course flyin Miata are the best aftermarket for this car.
that really beautiful engine bay
I like how the shifter is shaking when igniting
finally the review
Anyone missed buying an S2000 new 20 years ago? What if I told you there is a NEW car thats safer, lighter, smaller and has more feedback and larger aftermarket, just as reliable and made in JAPAN. Miata is Always The Answer.
Two of the best! Nice…well three -the car.
Nice Collaboration❤
5:20 Topher that was always there and ND2 made no changes to the top. GTs always had an extra liner in the interior-side of the top, behind the head (all the area behind the piece you're pointing to)
I'm going to get one lol. Improvements are so right ...
Please make more collaborations with Que 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’ve heard a few people say the steering is significantly better and then some say it’s negligible. That’s my main complaint with my 2020 ND2. I did the GWR front subframe braces and it helped the front end feel more cohesive. Wasn’t a huge change but noticeable. Steering is still numb.
After I did progress lowering springs and an alignment, it drives sooooo much better. There’s significantly more grip and when it does let go it’s far more controllable. The poor factory alignment combined with the excessive roll and pretty soft suspension made it feel like a rubber band that suddenly snaps. It’s like the car reacts half a second later to your inputs.
The springs got rid of about 40-50% of the body roll. It’s enough for a daily driver that sees some spirited driving. The front sway bar is a PITA unless you cut it out and replace it with a karcepts bar. So sticking with springs for now 😂
Not sure for the ND3s, but the ND2s bilsteins are a bit over damped for the stock spring rate. The ND1s were even worse. The progress springs ride better honestly.
I wish I could drive an ND3 and compare….i’m not in the place to trade up but if they really did fix the steering I’d love to get into another BBS recaro pack in the future.
GWR super street single tip sounds amazing. Some baffle options to quiet down for a daily driver if need be. I had an HKS Sport before, it was nice but it’s too tame and didn’t sound nearly as good as the Goodwin. Definitely would go for the SSST or the Race. I don’t think you can get a better sound. Some people prefer the Borla. Haven’t heard one in person
Also look up the sound tube mod, I have a few videos on my channel. Davedoesit has a thorough walk through. It gives you an awesome induction sound. That and a good exhaust and it’s got so much more character.
Doesn’t take much to make it nearly a perfect car. Springs, bumpstops, and an exhaust is only like $1k all together. Even on the stock tires it will drive so much better. I just recently got ECS Sport 02s after finally burning through the OEM Bridgestones. Haven’t pushed it real hard yet, but it has so much more grip now.
After you’ve put some miles on it, highly recommend those mods. You’ll look forward to pushing it through corners, it rotates beautifully and so progressively vs stock feels like you’re jack knifing a trailer when it steps out at a decent speed 😂
I have a club the only difference that tempted me to go grand touring is you got the thicker top
ND2 + FL5 owner here!
6:28 it returns to center more quickly. but neither this steering nor the last one returns to center in an electric kind of way, always been a natural return to center. now with less friction it will return all the way to center a bit more often
my nd2 is great! that nice screen upgrade is pretty cool. the LED lights also, one thing i hate is looking at the front and seeing all the little stone chips :( if only the red paint didnt chip so fast
I just subscribed to Que TheChacotic two days ago, So this is double cool, That is a nice car, I'm not getting any younger I got to pull the trigger on one
Thanks!
12:04 I have the SuperStreet on my ND2, I think it's pretty much the perfect combo of looks and sound. Any GoodWin exhaust though you can't really go wrong.
The color matched air freshener 😉
Couple of things about the Club vs the GT... regarding the auto headlights, even though my Club doesn't have an 'AUTO' switch, but they will turn off after a few seconds after powering off. The Club ST doesn't have a color screen but neither are deal breakers considering how freaking great these cars are.
Have you considered creating a Discord for members? I feel it would add some great value to the members, and we could share our cars, stories, whatever. Just a thought.❤
all trims have the color screen now!
First thing I did when I got home from buying my 2022 MX5 is buy a Goodwin Race exhaust for it. Car is so much more fun to drive.
I just put a Goodwin Race on my 23' ND2, highly recommend
@TheTopher would you recommend the Recaro seats? Are the standard one to floppy on the spirited street driving?
Que does it again!!!!!! Zircon sand metallic is growing on me
Yessir!
Topher’s not so subliminal “pls turn into safari build” lmao
Knew there's a be a video of this as soon as I saw Que buy one.
As stupid as it sounds, that new screen is a big reason why I'm interested in the ND3 as I really like my tech in cars. Currently deciding between a new ND3 and a used F87 M2 as the ND3 GT is roughly the same price as used F87's in my area. Don't think I can go wrong with either of them but still can't decide which one I like more.
How does Q afford all these cars? Seems crazy going through cars because they depreciate so quickly.
Great video and Q is super cool!
This review is thorough but of very subjective. I own the ND2 a 2023 RF and I just drove the new ND 3. I found the steering a bit less responsive and harder to steer. I thought the suspension was definitely stiffer and I felt more bumps and imperfections in the road. So the ND3 felt like it was a harsher ride compared to the older one. Overall I liked the older version better for ordinary driving. I suggest Miata buyers compare older ones with the new. Basically, there is only very subtle differences. The good news is both old and new versions are fun, so decide for yourself. I preferred the 2023 GT but I’m a little bias. In addition I like my RF a lot. I do not find blind spots an issue and it feels like a convertible with the top down. Plus the RF looks much cooler with the top up!
Looks fun to drive 👌
Q is awesome!
You’re awesome
1:51 YES. THIS is what I've been saying. MX-5 Meridian Edition
Really wish they brought the adaptive cruise to the manuals. Every ND3 across the world-even Canada where its standard on all trims-has ACC with MT. Just as bad, you get to deal with the two blanks surrounding the cancel switch
I see Miata, I click
I really love the new lights on the ND3.
Same!
Not if it means the car has fake vents in the front and back where the old lighting used to be. Seems way cheaper to me
@@Accost2u yeah there is this tradeoff. probably worth it in the end but you bring up a great point, i'd call the previous lighting more purist for sure
WOOOW * y’all know each other; WOW , IM WATCHING QUEs channel , BECAUSE OF HIS ‘CAR . 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🇺🇸 MX5 rules !
Yessir!🫡
I'm considering trading in my 2019 GLI for this ND3 MX-5. Just don't know if leaving all the other conveniences behind (Storage, Adaptive Dampers, Wireless Charger, Infotainment, Digital Cluster, Vented Seats, etc... ) is worth it, just for the handling. Especially when I live in the City.
Tell Q to try the Cobalt axle back. I Love mine. It has a really low tone and adds so much character. It’s as good as any other exhaust IMHO
Interesting that Throttle House felt like the steering was about the same as the previous car. Glad there is a noticeable improvement here. Maybe they got an odd press car.
Jubbal and cars know's about steering and it's much better👌🏻😎
@@MiataND3 expect that he doesn’t actually describe “how” it’s better. Just saying something is better or worse doesn’t give much context. Jason Cammisa did an actual review of the steering on his IG and podcast.
You can actually noticeably improve the steering feel on an nd1 and2 by doing proper wheel alignment. I assume it will never be as gooas the nd3 but somewhere between the nd2 and nd3. Flying miata has the alignment settings on their webpage. With some lowering and coilovers it improves even more.
@@Accost2u I've tried ND2 and now own ND3, I'm not an expert, but to me the ND3 steering speak more, better road texture and feel what the tyres are doing. However what I REALLY felt: the LSD on the ND3 it's much progresive and easier to drift than the ND2 wich I found quite sketchy. But all Miatas are fun!! 😎👌🏻
Honestly though, if nobody watched these UA-camrs would the average person even notice the difference?
Miata is always the answer
How would the steering feel with some non OEM tires? Which are selected to ensure you can roll and not much else imo. Put some ECS02 on…
I know I'm disagreeing with ya, but I just love the RF and plan on getting one in a couple years as soon as I can garage it again 😤
Check the mans hand at 16:18 , he got you
LOLOLOLOLOL
The Cobalt exhaust sounds pretty good too. It is about $340
The one thing I regretted was getting RF due to the wind noise and blind spots. Soft top is the way to go. Enjoy!
Awesome car, just personally I wish the steering wheel diameter would be a tad smaller
Turo rented an ND2 for the tail of the dragon a couple weeks ago and ugggggggggghhhhhhhhhh I want one now 😭😭 Though id probably go for white or ceramic gray with the tan interior
I have 2021 GT & I'm crying hearing that the steering is better 😢 going from a 13' FRS to the ND2, I immediately noticed the steering & really did not like it at first. (The ND's steering)
Great review, just wish they were more winter friendly and not rust so easy
Im about to buy a 2024 Miata Club
The gt has auto dimming rear view mirror n the front headlights r auto on all models n cars by law they been that way for a while, the gt's headlights turn with the steering wheel, thats what it was for nd1 and 2, idk if they added it on club for nd3 or not, also the gt is slightly queiter has more insulation. The club you can get recaro seats on it aswell, which u cant on the gt.
im still wondering, is it possible to retrofit the nd3 headlights to nd1-2? they are so clean and been wanting to go with a oem+ look on the lights
From a purity/simplicity standpoint I can see the argument for a pre-KPC ND2, but as a 2020 ND2 owner, if I do decide to keep an ND and continue tweaking it, it'd be tough not to consider an ND3 down the line once the new ECU is cracked, especially if it ever finally comes out in some interesting colors. Truthfully I don't hate the steering in my ND2 after all the suspension mods and alignment, but I also don't love it, and if steering is actually a significant improvement in the ND3, it'd be a serious draw for me. Time will tell, but I'll just keep my eyes open regarding the ND3 while I either sell or continue to develop my ND2, and if the time feels right, there might be a newer ND in the driveway one of these days. Perhaps it's time for a test drive, haha.
Couldnt wait till he had 600 miles lol? I do think this color looks better on the Club rather than GT, I will say. Saw a Mazda3 Turbo today in this color and it looked amazing simply because of the wheels, mirrors, gloss black lower body, etc
Oh damn, i want that infotainment on my ND from 2016 😢
6:00 looks and can be heard totally opposite: the whole camera is bumping like hell and wind noise is clearly noticable. must to check one on test drive but looks like go-kart with roof ;)
