In his memoir, SIZE MATTERS NOT, Warwick Davis mentions this movie was in many ways a Godsend, as he and his wife Samantha's first son, Lloyd, had died within a few days of birth from a genetic defect. The script for LEPRECHAUN not only helped with the bills, but gave both him and Samantha an "escape" from grief as it took them to the US to film the movie in California and gave them time to mourn (as well as Davis trying out being a "villain" for the first time). Warwick Davis actually had lunch with his former WILLOW director Ron Howard not long after finishing the film and mentioned LEPRECHAUN. Howard was not happy about the film idea and said, "Uh........just don't do anymore." However, the next time they met up for a visit, Davis reluctantly admitted he had done three more sequels. Ron Howard just sighed and said, "Well........my daughter and her boyfriend love those movies and my brother literally acted in the second one...........so who am I to judge?"
The 2nd one is actually a surprisingly decent tongue-in-cheek kinda movie. As is the third. Just... be prepared for Leprechaun in Space to be more bad-bad than good-bad.

Ozzie has one of the more impressive "minor character" resumes in 80s-early 90s Hollywood. You guys just saw him as Stilwell Angel (grown up at the end) from A League of Their Own, he is the arch-nemesis of Pee-Wee in the Big Adventure, he's on the basketball team with Michael J Fox in Teen Wolf, and he's in The Naked Gun, yelling from the baseball stands "Hey, Its Enrico Pallazo!"...not a bad list.
I'd recommend reacting to the 1988 American science fiction horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space. It's about an invasion of aliens who look, act, and have technology based on clowns. The Klowns come to Earth in order to capture, kill, and harvest the humans in a small town. It's a fun movie if you've never seen it, and it has a lot of cool creature effects done by the Chiodo Brothers. The Chiodo Brothers also wrote and directed the movie. It's a fun, wild ride, like this one. Just an absolute blast.

Yeah but she’s come a long way since Leprechaun plus this was one of her first films - if not her first film - so who cares how bad it may have been for her?
This is the 2nd time you've seen Ozzie. In "Naked Gun" he was the fan who saw Leslie Nielson take off the catchers mask and says "It's Enrico Palazzo!".
The writer/director for the Leprechaun originally intended for this to be like a horror film for kids until he was told it had more potential as an adult horror film.
Whelp, now that you know you have a higher percentage of Irish heritage, any time Sam wants to distract you, she can just throw her shoe at you! 😂👠 Happy Saint Paddy's Day to you guys!!💚💚🍀🍻
You might think the idea that the Leprechaun can be distracted by things like four leaf clovers and dirty shoes, but old Irish stories about the Fair Folk is that they have strange rules that they are compelled by their own worlds rules to follow. Being literal extra-dimensional beings that are foreign to our reality, they HAVE to do things that to us don't make any sense, like compulsively cleaning shoes or counting the individual grains of spilled salt.
Holy crap. I completely forgot about this movie. It’s so different now watching your recap as an older guy. So freaking hilarious. Thanks for the Blast from the Past memory (no Brendan Frazier lol).
I agree with some of the others, you should watch the sequels at least the ones with Warwick Davis in them. Also Critters and Killer Klowns From Outer Space for sure. Good campy horror all of them. Great reaction to an old favorite.
I’ve been rewatching Newhart and recognized the guy who gets killed by pogo stick! He’s the other brother Daryl! Nathan was in Summer School, the kid was in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead and Ozzie was Frances in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.

This is definitely a goofy horror comedy, but what I love is that it's having fun with itself. It's just trying to run with a ridiculus concept for a movie, and of course the best part is Warwick Davis as the Leprechaun. He makes these Leprechaun movies a fun ride.
Just think. If the old man had just touched the Leprechaun with the clover and put a bullet in his head instead of putting him in the crate, we wouldn't have had this gem. lol
There are six Leprechaun movies with Warwick Davis playing the titular character. There's a 2018 movie called Leprechaun Returns, which is listed as a sequel, but it doesn't have Davis, so I don't consider it a true sequel. Definitely watch Killer Klowns From Outer Space. As Goodfellas had come out 3 years before, I do wish someone had told the Leprechaun, "Go get your f**king shine box." Pesci and the Leprechaun aren't too far apart.
A little fun trivia fact is General Mills gave this movie permission to use lucky charms but upon realizing it was a horror movie they revoked it, so the crew came up with lucky clover and the Leprechaun spitting it out was a subtle diss they also redid Alex's line 2 F*ck U Lucky Charms.
Samantha, you make me laugh. You laugh the hardest at the most subtle yet ridiculous situations. And almost always when Daniel points it out. "Troll 2" would be a good cult horror reaction movie. It is one of the worst horror movies ever, but it has quite a follow. "Puppet Master" and/or "Critters" would also be other "fun" horror movies to react to.
Here's a fun story, me and some friends were visiting Santa Monica once, and were staying the night with a friend's uncle, we were out in front of his apartment and having some beers and just hanging out, and this older guy came walking up the steps, passed by us, said hello, wished us a good evening, in a strong Irish accent and stopped and said, " those beers look pretty good, but if you guys want something a bit stronger I have some nice Irish Whiskey upstairs, so of course us being like just barely 21 were all for it, so we went upstairs and went to his apartment and he poured us some shots of whiskey. After a couple we get to talking more, and he tells us he's been in the movie industry and had done a few things earlier in his life, but one of my friends kept telling me all night, " Dude this guy looks so familiar, but I can't place it." Then we asked him what kinds of things he had done in Hollywood, like production or consulting or what have you and he said," Well I've done some of that, and a little acting here and there, so we were like, oh that's awesome, what have you been in? Anything we might have seen? And he tells us, " Well my biggest claim to fame is being the Drunk Irish guy at the beginning of Leprechaun And my friend instantly was like, That's it! That's where I know you from! So I met Shea Duffin, the guy at the beginning of Leprechaun. We had a great night though, we were just hanging out, drinking whiskey with him and he was telling us old stories from his career, and even pulled out a couple old photo albums and showed us some cool pictures from different sets he had worked on, there was even a picture of him and Cameron Diaz in a blow up inflatable hot tub drinking champagne, he was such a cool, humble, down to earth guy, and even though I had only met him once, and hung out with him for a few hours, it's a memory I'll always treasure. I was sad to hear he passed away some time ago and reached out to his daughter on Facebook to give my condolences.
Speaking of a classics If you want to see another really fun good 80s horror movie I highly recommend killer klowns from outer space it has one of the most best theme song intros ever made not to mention the movie is such a fun and delight thing to watch I remember watching the hell out of that when I was younger and I would love to see you two react to it
Hell yeah! Classic cheesy horror. Warwick Davis' most iconic role. There needs to be more reactions to movies like this. The cheese and campiness give them a certain charm. GoodBadFlicks and The Horror Geek have reviewed so many great movies of this caliber. Their reviews are hilarious. Interested in a movie about an evil genie, I highly recommend "Wish Master" from 1997 and the sequel.
I think the first 3 are pretty good especially the third one which is the most entertaining but objectively the original is the best one. Warwick David as the leprechaun is perfect casting he brings sm personality to the role and the way he looks after taking in the 4 leaf clover was really creepy looking.
Great reaction guys! Definitely check out Killer Klowns from Outer Space. It's campy and totally not serious in any way at all, but it's surprisingly not bad. Not great, but not bad. Two more you can check out if you want to get really into the depths of campy horror are Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1976, and sequels in 1988, 1991, and 1992) and Critters (1986, with sequels in 1988 and 1989). One cult classic and not-so-campy film to watch is Pumpkinhead (1988). The monster is great and it even has a rather serious story, at least for a pulp horror film. There are two sequels, though they're not nearly as highly regarded as the original. Stan Winston, the guy who did monsters like Predator, created the Pumpkinhead monster and directed the film himself.
Seeing this movie as an adult is preposterous. But I went to see this with my family in the theater as kid with my family, it scared the hell out of me. My annual highlight then was the fair out on by a local church. My favorite ride was the “dragon wagon” my mom waited with me to get on to ride. When we got to the front the operator was a little person. I was so scared I started to scream and cry. I imagine it must have been so embarrassing for my mom.
Making your wife laugh to tears is one of my favorite parts of being a husband, it was fun watching that moment with you two😂
It's so often the 'you had to be there' kind of funny too, a connection between you that makes the other person laugh so much.

Check the movies The People Under The Stairs(1991) and Jeepers Creepers(2001).
Definitely need to continue the Leprechaun journey.😁
I would definitely recommend Killer Klowns from Outer Space if you enjoyed this. Some other suggestions: The Blob (the 1988 version), Basket Case, Dolls, and Pumpkinhead.
Leprechaun has many sequels -- the 4th one is in space!
"Troll 2" would be a good cult horror reaction movie. It is one of the worst horror movies ever, but it has quite a follow. "Puppet Master" and/or "Critters" would also be other "fun" horror movies to react to.
A great movie that takes place in Dublin is the 1992 film "Into the West".
Warwick Davis played the Leprechaun 'Lubdan' in 6 movies
This movie is rated R not PG 13.
PG-13 was WAY different in the 80s and 90s
@missioncodez I know, just saying PG13 was like R today
You guys need to watch Ghoulies. And, as far as Warwick davis, if you haven't yet, please do watch Willow.
Dude, Killer Klowns from Outer Space is amazing. Mom is badass.
Ah yes, watched this in 95 for the first time and Jennifer Aniston became my 2nd childhood crush. My first was the pink power ranger lol
Amy Jo Johnson. She was definitely a childhood crush of mine as well.
I used to love this Movie. when I was a kid.
Disney’s Darby Ogill and the Little People with Sean Connery.
Interested in a movie about an evil genie, I highly recommend "Wish Master" from 1997 and the sequel.
leprechaun in the hood should be a react for halloween.
JUST GIVE THE LEPRECHAUN HIS GOLD 🪙🪙🪙🪙🍀🍀🍀
It is not preposterous to see it as adult, it was DUMB OF YOU TO SEE IT AS A KID BECAUSE THEN YOU GOT SCARED OF A LITTLE PERSON LIKE A WIMP!
