Running Windows 95 or 98 requires a different configuration file to be used which is modified in specific ways. I don't know if this iOS version and the PC version using the same configuration files, but since I successfully installed Windows 98 in DOSBox-X on PC, I can send you my "Windows ready" configuration file if you want. 😉
So afaik, the issue with the black square cursor and other visual glitches is because of how dosbox emulates the graphics card, and without the driver installed on windows, it is broken, and you can install the driver and it fixes most of the graphical issues iirc, I believe you could find it if you search for it, but i could try my hand if you cant find it and want it.
If you do this again with newer systems like windows xp which seemed like the windows version you actually wanted to do this with you should use UTM I’ve used UTM in the past and I’ve gotten windows 7 fully functional and usable
