Minus...A-rod out at first for being an asshole, Jeter should now be on second because he was forced to run there upon the hit and would have been out if the Red Sox had elected to throw the ball there instead of tagging A-rod.
1993 NLCS, game 6: West was the HP umpire and called Dave Hollins of the Phillies out on a close play in a very casual way. The replay showed that Hollins was clearly safe. Although this blown call cost the Phillies a run, they were still able to win the game and clinch the pennant.
Right before the A-Rod slap, Mientkiewicz was in the running lane without the baseball. They should’ve called obstruction because that’s exactly what it was 🙄
Joe West was a great umpire under his last few years. The average time umpiring in the minor leagues was and remains at about 11. Joe made it in under 3. If you knew a thing about it you'd keep your uneducated opinion to yourself.
I dont think the 2018 alcs game 4 call could of been correct either way. I think it should be a hr. But idk if how much he was truly impeded on making the catch
What is Joe Torre even arguing about… like that seat was clear as day…. i remember watching that…. that’s why i hate AROD…. he’s ok as an analyst though
@@ScallopHolden that would be a clever argument….. if they were not in yankee stadium…. i mean you can’t fault the umps for looking at the giant replay showing the objective truth that your own franchise is repeatedly showing, but they still have to make that call because they aren’t going to get scolded for being correct
Bobby Cox what are you doing you old drunk, the batter went around, stop being silly. The rule where the batter gets called out if the fan interferes with a home run ball is very strange. The guy hits a homer but the fan smacks the outfielder’s mitt and now the batter is out? Lol
I agree...the fans never reached out into the field of play...it almost looked like he closed his glove himself before fans hit his glove...if anything call interference and award a double if not the homerun

I am a Yankees fan, but I respect the Red Sox and look forward to every game that the Yankees play against them. However, Houston is a low-class city in a low-class state with low-class fans of a low-class team, and I love to see their fans screw it up for the most low-class of all their players, Jose Altuve!
So basically he got all his big calls correct in the postseason
Yes

You missed the crazy good Mark Bellhorn home run call they made in the same game as the ARod slap!
Joe West was every time
You can see a young Paul Giamatti in that first clip.
hilarious with those sideburns and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth
Haha-Yeah. At 02:03?
At 3:50. "Unless profanity was used." hahahaha! That's Bobby Cox! I guarantee you profanity WAS used!
McCarver sure loved the Yankees and Braves.
Tommy……”Jesus Christ I don’t believe this”
Joe West is an amazing umpire.
And Bozo was an amazing clown !!!
Said nobody ever.
Only compared to angel hernandez
@@Palootski HAHAHA!
4:18 West made a really good call.

Joe West taught Angel Hernandez how to keep your eyes closed during any play throughout the game🤣
He got all of these calls right

Fan never reached into playing field. Betts ran into fan out of play. Home run. Screw Altuve anyway though. Cheater
The call at end of video was wrong.
The glove starting closing before ball arrived.
The glove was not hit by fan. ❤
Joe West has nothing on Angel Hernandez
They BOTH suck.

he's a fucking cheater, not the only time he's done something like this
I think his argument is you guys are having a meeting and we can clearly see you watching the replay on the board

Call me crazy but, I think that should’ve been a homerun for Houston. Mookie reached into the stands.
Thank God Joe West retired !!!
That was the worst throw to 2nd base I've ever seen...
so the LA Dodgers cheated in 1988! Their world series win deserves an asterick!
Dodgers legacy:
2020 60 game WS win
1988 Sticky stuff WS
1981 110 game Season
Last legitimate WS in a full season 1965
