I was an emergency catcher(I caught until high school when I was switched to short) and fortunately none of my games included a collision. I probably would have just stepped aside.
But it’s kinda no point.. well I guess it depends on arm length. If you have above average length arms like (74”), one could grab a ball and do a tag anywhere near home plate without covering it. There's a big difference between running into the catcher because he's completely blocking the plate and you have no where to go to try and score and going out of your way to injure the catcher so you can go back to home plate after the catcher was taken out to be safe. Nyger Morgan would have been safe had he slid. Mark Teixeira would have been safe had he slid. Cousins would have been safe had he slid to the back of home plate. All of these instances and others shown in here, the runner had already decided that the only way they would be safe was if they deliberately tried to injure the catcher and go back to home plate after the collision. To be a catcher, you got to be the toughest player on the team. To see the effort of most of the catchers in this vid trying to hold on to the baseball for the team, it’s amazing.
That was Brian Harper in Game 4 of the 1991 World Series. The funny thing is, he was actually a defensive liability as a catcher. He was only a catcher for the Twins, otherwise he was an outfielder. That hit was the best defensive play of his career as a catcher. Followed by diving back to the plate to tag out a runner on a wild pitch later in the same inning.
Honestly I have no clue who the Phillies catcher Crats is but he’s one tough dude. He’s got a strong hold on the ball getting run over by big guys going full speed. Respect to all the catcher out there!
Probably an unpopular opinion, but seeing this compilation really made me realize that this play doesn't need to be legal for the game of baseball to be great. First of all, this play was a rare one. The average MLB baseball game didn't have a home plate collision. By making it illegal, you aren't getting rid of a huge part of the game. Secondly, look at how many of the players in this video got hurt. Injuries suck, and this play caused a bunch of them. I'd rather see a great game of baseball with both teams at 100% than have a great catcher gone for the season because of one cool looking play. These plays are fun to watch, but they were rare and it wasn't so fun that it was worth losing players for the season. Baseball has not only survived, but flourished without the rule and it will continue to do so. Remember Chris Coghlan's dive over Yadier Molina? That play would have never happened if this rule still was in place. The game changes, but it's still the same game at the core. This play hasn't and won't ruin baseball.
Like half or even over half of these guys would have been safe if they would have just tried to get around the catcher instead of murdering them. These early players r bloodthirsty.
I played softball-I caught for 11 years. Weighed a whopping 145 pounds soaking wet. Blocked that plate like a linebacker lol. Loved that part of the game when the bigger gals would be barreling at me full speed and I'd be waiting for 'em! But man, my knees are paying for it now lol.
Same story..I am a little beefier though Now that I am old, I play slow pitch. Co-ed. There is nothing better than a guy who thinks u are just gonna stand still and let them score. HELL NO. If that throw is coming in hot, I will tag your sorry ass out EVERY TIME.
SO THE CATCHER BLOCKS THE PLATE AND GETS KNOCKED DOWN BY THE RUNNER. THEN HE GETS UPSET FOR BEING KNOCKED DOWN. AND THROWS A PUNCH. DON'T BE A CATCHER IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT.
I think if the catcher is blocking the plate once they get the ball, the runner should not be forced to slide into a tag, they should be allowed to try and go through the catcher. The Posey play is a collision play that has no place in baseball, the runner had the entire plate to slide into but chose to go after Posey. Can't blame anything on Posey.
Edgy Zombies he fucking turned into the runner that was completely his fault he knew he didn't have the ball and he still went he could've easily just dive out the way
Honestly I love baseball, been a fan for 20 years, started watching when I was 5 and I'm proud to say thank god they took the collision away cause these players truly did get hurt and for what? One out? Good job MLB
Ricky Hoxha one out? It’s to prevent a run from scoring. Don’t be soft dude. The catcher was always supposed to be a thought guy who can’t hit well and drank too much. I bet you vote democrat
Pete Rose ruined Ray Fosse's career to score in the All Star game. Josh Cousins ruined his own career by being considered a pariah. It took MLB long enough to fix this situation.
I always laugh at the runners who stomp on Home after the collision acting all big and bad only for the Catcher to hold on and the douchebag runner to be out.
They aren't douchebags. They are fucking hyped on adrenaline after a fucking mini car crash. Those things don't just hurt the catcher. As a former running back I can tell you right now that these things have real deal consequences for everyone involved.
@@Brett-du5nh I'm not saying they all are. Not by any means. But some of these players I've seen do this sort of thing have been in other videos acting like real jerks and such. THOSE guys it us satisfying when they try to flex but end up being owned themselves
I played football all my childhood through senior year. I was also a catcher and let me tell you, no hit I recieved playing football hurts like getting plowed into at the plate. The gear does nothing to protect you and you're just stagnant, waiting for someone coming full speed. I know collisions are rare these days but kids, just in case, leave your mask on if there's a potential play at the plate.
It was a fucking accident what happened get over yourself. His cleat caught the ground unfortunately and thus his leg broke. There was nothing he could’ve done by that
zx6rdood lol, someone’s upset that this is baseball and not hockey, not everyone likes seeing people getting hurt this bad intentionally especially when it’s not needed. slide to the first base, or just stop. don’t need to tackle the catcher like a bitch...
In Little League, (in my town) the rule was the catcher had to stand aside the base line, so the runner could score, and the catcher could not stand atop the plate. If the runner were to still truck them, or try to, they would be ejected and called out. Why not implement that?
New mlb rules do not outlaw blocking the plate as long as the catcher has possession of the ball, or is in the process of fielding the ball. In these cases, a base runner can still collide with the catcher if it is unavoidable. It is up to the umpires judgement. If a catcher has possession and still blocks the plate, the runner can still collide if it judged as unavoidable.
I’d just like to take a second to thank my best catcher of all time, Bruce Stancel. He was my catcher but he also played center field and he was our “Wild thing.” I once saw him wildly and uncontrollably throw a ball from center field over the backstop over 350-feet away [at the age of 16]. And as a catcher, he was fearless. He was a golden glove boxer and he had no fear, especially when it came to standing on top of the plate with a runner coming home. I was a good pitcher, but Bruce was a great catcher. Christ, I miss those days…back when boys were men and men were men. Thank you for everything Bruce. You’ll always be my number 11 to my number 19.
The comments on here blaming Posey for getting hurt and "changing the game", make no sense to me. As a former minor league catcher, I took my share of hits as well as dishing out punishments to runners. If you notice as you watch these plays, most collisions could/would be avoided if the runner slides in. Many collisions are unnecessary. Many times the runner would've been safe if they'd attempted to slide instead of throwing themselves into the catcher. I have to ask, why is this play only allowed at home? Think about it....the closest play similar to this is the attempt to break up the double play at second base. Even then, the runner must attempt to slide. But then, people really only watch NASCAR to see the wrecks. I loved to catch and I still love the game. I'm elderly and retired now, but the best baseball is still played at the neighborhood park. The place where dreams begin.
I am a trained umpire in Canada and at the level I normally conducted any contact as seen in the video would be an automatic out and an ejection. But baseball Canada rules might differ when it comes to close play/collision rules.
I was a catcher for ten years in the 70s and 80s. I was taught to "protect the plate". Which really meant on close calls at the plate, block the plate. I was run over plenty of times. Runners were taught to run over the catcher on close calls to make the catcher miss the ball or drop the ball.
Crash Dude Not stupid, they’re doing their jobs, as rules back then. Gotta do what they gotta do to prevent the runner from scoring, which they can’t from a foot off the plate. And runners doing what they gotta do to score. All those plays now would have been safe with the current rules.
The catchers rarely ever risk their lives. Football players have had their helmets knocked off and hit directly by someone else’s helmets. Rugby has guys face planted into the ground. Baseball is no where near the amount of injures as other sports
I thought it was like a MLB rule that players arent allowed to cover/crowd the Plate being it 1st, 2nd, 3rd or HOME plate. If it happens, Hitter is considered Safe.
That's a fairly new rule.. they barred catchers from blocking the plate shortly after the Buster Posey injury in this video. His leg was hurt pretty bad and he missed a bunch of time. After seeing one of the stars of the league go down on a play at the plate MLB took action.
The catcher is in the way of home plate and to move a 240lbs catcher you can’t just run up and tap him you have to hit that guy like you trying to move a semi truck
This is was so crazy that this was part of the game for so long. Just got 250 lb dudes getting a 87 foot runway to build up steam and crash into the catcher and see if he can hold on to the ball or not. A lot of times the catchers are on their knees too or are just receiving the ball so they are not able to fully see when the collision is coming. Thankfully plays at the plate are rare but when they happened it was like a sanctioned car crash for the catcher and for the runner it was crash into him as hard as you can and see if you can get him to drop the ball.
Adam Khan At that time, home field advantage for the World Series alternated between NL an AL every other year. The All-Star game determining home field was a more recent development. Just wanted to share.
I was thought to always lower my shoulder into the catchers glove and hit like a battering ram to break the play at home plate. Anyone who has played baseball will tell you catchers always get the worse of this blows. I broke a kids nose in high school in a collision at home plate. I am glad the catchers are more protected now. When this collisions get ugly they can end a season for a player.
1:21 *This* particular collision is where Buster Posey broke a fibula & tore 2 ligaments in his ankle. Resulting in season-ending surgery. In response to this, the MLB made rule changes to help eliminate Home Plate collisions. Which would be known as the _"Buster Posey Rule"._ Losing Buster to this incident had major repercussions for the Giants that Season (2011) because he was a major part of their roster. When he came back for the 2012 Season, he would become an integral part of the Giant's run for the championship.
Daniel Miller The way they do intentional walks now bugs me too. I've seen wild pitches and base hits on what was supposed to be a routine intentional walk. Who's Manfred? The current commissioner?
Other fielders can't block the base line so why can the catcher? The rule should be you can't be in the baseline. What's the runner supposed to do? All he can do is plow into the guy.
Con Savage umm he is right, you can catch the ball and stay there stupid, and he can run down the 3rd baseline. Learn your baseball before arguing. Anyways I agree with you it's the catchers fault
Omfg, your guys' lack of knowledge of the game is ridiculous. The catcher is only allowed to block the baseline if he has the ball, or it is necessary to receive the ball. Please people, if you don't understand the rules, don't comment about the rules. It's simple.
I can't believe they didn't include Nasty Boy Norm Charlton's takeout of Mike Scioscia in 1990, where he ran through the stop sign at 3rd so he could get a piece of Scioscia after getting beaned minutes earlier.
3:49 explains why this shouldn’t be allowed in baseball, “he looked like a fullback trying to ram it into the end zone” it is a clean play and a smart baseball move but looks brutal
When I was a kid, I saw a collision between Dave Parker of the Pirates and John Stearns, catching for the Mets. BA-BOOM! Parker was out and busted his cheekbone. Turns out Stearns played football at Colorado. Heehee! Sorry, Parker!
I'm GLAD this era of baseball is gone but holy hell do I appreciate the hustle and grit. Sal Perez would be the catcher NOBODY would challenge in this era.
Watching these hits I understand why the rule was changed for blocking the plate. The runners goal was not to touch home plate, but remove the catcher blocking it at all cost. Pete Rose ruined Ray Fosses's career and hits like these put Buster Posey in a hospital. Having a catcher leave a path to the plate challenges both the runner and the catcher. You still have bang bang plays, but less injuries.
I agree 100%. It's unsportsmanlike in every sense of the term and just bloodsport for dipshit "fans".. Never should have been allowed from the get go and as you can see the main people who argue about it being a part of the game have probably never played it in the first place. I've been a player, a manager, an umpire, and a league official, and I can tell you that no where in the rule books does it explicitly permit dropping your shoulder and blowing up defenseless players because you had no other options.
how in the world can you not have the best one ever on here.. Buck Martinez getting his leg broken and still getting the out as well as tagging out a second runner
This was one of my favorite parts of the game both as a catcher and a base runner, too bad it's no longer allowed. MMA/boxing is gonna be the only fun sport soon enough.
@@kyleburgess780 The runners also don't have to lower their shoulder and go in like a linebacker. Many of these the runner don'r even try for the plate, they're aiming for the catcher to try to get him to drop the ball.
Dear MLB, bring this back. You've created an entire generation, or possibly 3, of kids thinking they're entitled to being 100% safe at home and catchers who feel like they have a right to be mad when they get trucked. Backstops have to be the toughest guy on the field. It takes guts to play backstop. If you don't have the fortitude to take the shot, go play the outfield.
What I noticed on the posey one is that posey is way in front of home plate and cousins went out of the baseline to ram into posey. And, all these comments about posey ruining the game is bull shit, if u think he stood on homeplate, watch the replay.
I love pretty much everything about baseball but damn it took an embarrassingly long time to change the rules to stop this from being allowed. I mean damn it doesn't take a genius to see how vulnerable these catchers are in these situations. And the runners are literally just trying to murder the catchers every single time. They were incentivised to do as much damage as possible and you can see it every time. Besides, the new slides are just as exciting anyways.

Respect to all the catcher out there!
videos about home plate collisions are just basically the Phillies always
Aaron Schmidlkofer I agree
No
Nope
This play is unfair and could seriously damage a player, I don't see how anyone could look at it and think it's ok to do it.
Especially when you look at the NFL, they ban things that may result in injury, even to the smallest degree.
Like half or even over half of these guys would have been safe if they would have just tried to get around the catcher instead of murdering them. These early players r bloodthirsty.
do you not understand baseball
Do u nigga
The RUPP catch for the walk-off was THE BEST. I was watching that game live and Tom McCarthy had a great call. I was yelling just as loud.
These MLB players hit with better form than these NFL players
Jay Schipp but not better than nhl players
Jay Schipp not really
Since when are you supposed to hit with your forearms or hands leading out in front of yourself? Hit with the shoulder unlike these ball players”
Jay Schipp...You give an NFL linebacker that big of a run up and that catcher is going to the hospital every time.
I would have felt sorry for every NFL quarterback if Pete Rose had been a defensive tackle.
Bring back home plate collisions! One of the most exciting plays in the game.
Excitement is more valuable than millions of dollars?
Excitement more valuable than a career?
The little excitement is not worth losing a catcher to injury. That can literally effect a team's entire season
What do they do now when a catcher blocks home plate?
@@RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK tuck and hit him like a train without remorse
I played softball-I caught for 11 years. Weighed a whopping 145 pounds soaking wet. Blocked that plate like a linebacker lol. Loved that part of the game when the bigger gals would be barreling at me full speed and I'd be waiting for 'em! But man, my knees are paying for it now lol.
Same story..I am a little beefier though
Now that I am old, I play slow pitch.
TorontoBlueJays9293 thank you
Edgy Zombies he fucking turned into the runner that was completely his fault he knew he didn't have the ball and he still went he could've easily just dive out the way
95 mile an hour fastball to the head might calm that shit down!!!
Play in the road long enough, you're gonna get run over
indeed, and crowding the plate long enough you'll get your bell rung!
I'm glad they made a rule about this. Stupidest thing ever, unnecessarily dangerous and pointless.
You must be fun at parties
It’s a dangerous game, shit happens, players get hit with pitches all the time, should they be replaced by pitching machines?
7:30 that was amazing
Barrett never took shit from anyone. Tough SOB. I miss him on my Cubs
The Perzynsky punch was 100% warranted.
How so? Catcher is blocking his path so he knocks him out of the way. Then Barrett takes a cheap shot at him.
@@camreese " I bet you you vote democratic" you can always count on old white people to insert politics in completely unrelated topics.
@@camreese Im in agreement w/u about about being soft. But why drag political bullshit into a baseball discussion?
If i'm not mistaken the Buster Posey collision is what really changed up the rule .....correct ?
Correct
correct
Sublime Bud yup mlb’s Golden boy. I think collusions should be allowed imo.
DenalPvP Why? Not mad, just can’t think of a reason to have them allowed.
@@DenalPvP You're one of the few people that feel this way.
It will never be allowed again. Too dangerous.
These head shots are way too dangerous
I like how most of the time the runner doesn't even go for the plate he just drops his shoulder and goes in like a linebacker.
If Posey knew what he was doing, this would still be part of baseball.
Facts. Hard nosed players get punished because Buster Posey had no idea how to block a fucking plate.
If your going to block the plate you better get ready to get run over, with that said don't be a fool why put yourself in that kind of danger.
zx6rdood Buster Pussy
Ray Lankford v. Darren Daulton at 5:20ish. Brutal.
Nice video, finally a better compilation then most others keep it up 👌🏼
In Little League, (in my town) the rule was the catcher had to stand aside the base line, so the runner could score, and the catcher could not stand atop the plate. If the runner were to still truck them, or try to, they would be ejected and called out.
Why not implement that?
They did buddy
You just gotta know how much the catchers love but hate their job at the same time.
If your catcher wants get spiked then make the runner slide
Catchers have a smaller chance of getting spiked because of gear than any other infielder. Don't play that card.
Shut the fuck up old man, your wife is calling you to do the dishes, go do them.
Rick S Ok the reason why we blame Posey is because he bitched and moaned to officials changing the rule because he couldn't handle a charge
Couldnt handle a charge? The dude got his ankle almost completely twisted lol, yeah go ahead and take a hit like that and try to walk it off
I am a trained umpire in Canada and at the level I normally conducted any contact as seen in the video would be an automatic out and an ejection. But baseball Canada rules might differ when it comes to close play/collision rules.
Convoy Productions good thing it’s not the Canadian Pastime
Well no a
At least most of these clips were from before MLB added rules to protect catchers by prohibiting these sort of collisions if they could be avoided.
Imagine being the catcher and Aaron Judge is coming in to score?!?! Not sure many would survive that!
Catchers who get upset after getting rocked while standing in the runners way at home are terrible
How lowering your shoulder into contact is not an ejectable offense baffles me
Stop being feminine
Hes blocking his right of way. I dont blame him for preping for the collision.
I don’t miss this part of the game. Unnecessary injuries
I was a catcher for ten years in the 70s and 80s. I was taught to "protect the plate". Which really meant on close calls at the plate, block the plate. I was run over plenty of times. Runners were taught to run over the catcher on close calls to make the catcher miss the ball or drop the ball.
I just think it’s so badass when the catcher gets up and shows the guy the ball. OWNED
Some of these are just scumbag hits.
X2
Baseball for you, don't play this shit
# Guiltless pussy
They are blocking the plate. Some catchers are stupid af
Crash Dude Not stupid, they’re doing their jobs, as rules back then. Gotta do what they gotta do to prevent the runner from scoring, which they can’t from a foot off the plate. And runners doing what they gotta do to score. All those plays now would have been safe with the current rules.
"I was delivering pizzas"
🤣🤣🤣
Between getting rocked at home plate
And suffering nut shots, catchers are by far the toughest player on a team
Gotta give these catchers credit for basically risking their life for their team to get guys out at home plate. Well done mlb catchers
5:17 I’ve been looking for that Lankford/Daulton collision for years. Many thanks!
Ray played football and it showed.
It was kinda crazy that you could only do this at home. Imagine just being able to run over any fielder at any base lol
They should be able to. Tuck and run over anyone. No penalty whatsoever
Imagine the roblox death sound every collision
BAHAHAHA
*O O F*
I hate u
No because we're not all 12. Pussy.
Oof. Oof. Oof. Oof........
2:10 he didn’t even aim for home plate, he just straight up shoulder charged him
The catcher is in the way of home plate and to move a 240lbs catcher you can’t just run up and tap him you have to hit that guy like you trying to move a semi truck
Its crazy its not part of the game anymore
I was so pumped when Brian Harper held on to that ball in the '87 World Series... Puckett's attitude was contagious.
"Is baseball a contact sport? Absolutely not."
- Stephen A Smith, a man who has *never* played baseball
stephen a usually doesn’t know what the fuck he is talking about, no matter the sport lol
that hit from Pete rose "1:16" to win the All Star game was brutal and I do believe ended that catcher's career.
It wasn't exactly meaningless because the All-Star game used to determine home field advantage in the WS up until this year, but I see your point.
Adam Khan At that time, home field advantage for the World Series alternated between NL an AL every other year. The All-Star game determining home field was a more recent development. Just wanted to share.
Oh, cool I did not know that. Thanks for telling.
Adam Khan you're wrong. The ASG was used to determine home field advantage for the WS from 2003-2016. Pre 2002 it was simply an exhibition game.
Pete took his baseball seriously I guess...in just an exhibition game...damn
I remember Lankford drilling Dutch like it was yesterday.
My boyhood idol Charlie Hustle (Pete Rose) the collison w/ Fosse, Ray says he still feels the effects and that hit ruined his career!
8:27 Brian Jordan was a safety in the NFL so he knows how to drill someone lol
I knew something about that collision seemed diffe7than the rest lol
1:21 *This* particular collision is where Buster Posey broke a fibula & tore 2 ligaments in his ankle. Resulting in season-ending surgery. In response to this, the MLB made rule changes to help eliminate Home Plate collisions. Which would be known as the _"Buster Posey Rule"._
Losing Buster to this incident had major repercussions for the Giants that Season (2011) because he was a major part of their roster. When he came back for the 2012 Season, he would become an integral part of the Giant's run for the championship.
The first nail in the coffin for the mlb was changing that rule
Am I the only person who misses this type of play? Am I a barbarian for doing so?
No, it was an integral part of the game. Manfred is ruining this game one rule change at a time
Daniel Miller The way they do intentional walks now bugs me too.
Landon Cole your stupid it's legal to move to the ball it is illegal to catch the ball and then get in front of Home plate
Con Savage umm he is right, you can catch the ball and stay there stupid, and he can run down the 3rd baseline. Learn your baseball before arguing. Anyways I agree with you it's the catchers fault
Landon Cole there are rules around it
Catchers aren't aloud to block the baseline that's why there are collisions
Omfg, your guys' lack of knowledge of the game is ridiculous. The catcher is only allowed to block the baseline if he has the ball, or it is necessary to receive the ball. Please people, if you don't understand the rules, don't comment about the rules. It's simple.
Just once I would like to see the catcher rock the runner and just stand over top of him like “try that again”
Tom Wilson facts
I'm glad these arent allowed anymore. It caused injuries that could have been avoided
"Baseball isn't a contact sport" bullshit
Tyler Powers It isnt
It aint no more
When I was a kid, I saw a collision between Dave Parker of the Pirates and John Stearns, catching for the Mets.
Ghey
I believe collisions are still legal if the catcher has the ball and is blocking the plate
If that's the case, the runner is called safe. No need to collide
I think that's correct. Catcher has to get the ball before moving to the baseline.
Cool story
I miss this man, Nowadays Runners can’t even THINK about blowing on the catcher without getting automatically ejected
The Maybin one was the craziest! Like they collided and bounced off eachother.
Thank god this shit is in the past. catchers were sitting ducks. You want a 4 year career with life altering head trauma go play football.
I agree 100%. It's unsportsmanlike in every sense of the term and just bloodsport for dipshit "fans".. Never should have been allowed from the get go and as you can see the main people who argue about it being a part of the game have probably never played it in the first place. I've been a player, a manager, an umpire, and a league official, and I can tell you that no where in the rule books does it explicitly permit dropping your shoulder and blowing up defenseless players because you had no other options.
gradyrm237 why u mad?
Merp-a -Derp why u gay?

Same with blood thirsty hockey fans. None have played the sport, most can't even skate. None would last a shift in the NHL.
you have affended me because I love football but i am a almost dwarf kid who wants to play football. so WACH IT
Good lord I don't need to see the clip 10 times my god
Was NOT expecting the catcher to punch the runner 😳😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's old school baseball for ya
how in the world can you not have the best one ever on here.. Buck Martinez getting his leg broken and still getting the out as well as tagging out a second runner
This was one of my favorite parts of the game both as a catcher and a base runner, too bad it's no longer allowed. MMA/boxing is gonna be the only fun sport soon enough.
I don’t understand why no one stands up for the catcher like they do for goalies in hockey
Catchers can get their revenge, and whose to say the dude won't get beamed next at bat. But fair question for sure.
dave marnell just beat the crap out of them right then in there
Because they play baseball lol and they don’t have to block the plate that’s their own fault if they get blasted.
@@kyleburgess780 The runners also don't have to lower their shoulder and go in like a linebacker. Many of these the runner don'r even try for the plate, they're aiming for the catcher to try to get him to drop the ball.
177SCmaro good. Makes it more interesting. Again, don’t block the plate and you won’t get trucked.
I miss baseball being a contact sport. I played catcher all through little league and high school and college ball. Loved blocking the plate.
@11:48 is probably my favorite throw out ever. From that far and directly into the catcher glove
And it won the game. Amazing.
Fucking crazy, man.
What I noticed on the posey one is that posey is way in front of home plate and cousins went out of the baseline to ram into posey. And, all these comments about posey ruining the game is bull shit, if u think he stood on homeplate, watch the replay.
MoonWatcher 74 exactly, I just see all these people blaming posey for no reason
not mad about that, mad about him complaining about it to officials and getting the rules changed
Posey a bitch and ruined the game.
these were easily my favorite part of the game back in the day bc they temporarily changed baseball into a better sport aka football
Watching Chipper Jones getting trucked is so satisfying. Dude held on to the ball like a boss.
If the catcher is blocking the plat the runner has the right to run him over. It's old school hard baseball. This isn't tennis.
When baseball was still 'real'
Exactly
