This was a clear case of Ump with a major attitude. You can see he was the one leaning in screaming at Tucker Nathans when he was just trying to plead his case to the Home Plate Ump.. I've seen so many players flip out but Nicholson doesn't belong on the field. Umps are not supposed the be "part of the show" but some do their best to make themselves a big part of it. Over the top strikeout calls, antagonizing players to the point they lose their cool and then get tossed. the MLB has some serious Umps with issues that push the limits. On a side note, I didn't expect to hear the name Pete Incaviglia at the 9:15 mark when I started watching this, a flashback to his playing days crossed my mind. Glad to see he's still part of the game.
Nathan's should have left the field. There is no "pleading your case". Your ejected it's done. There is no undoing it. The moment he chased after the umpire his season should have been ended. The ump SHOULD NOT have touched him. But Nathan's and the other 42 should have both been thrown from the game. Officials need to be held more accountable for bad calls. Players need to be disciplined into stopping this crap

As soon as I saw that Nicholson stayed on the phone it was very clear to me that he was going to be leaving. Players can't attack umpires physically without suffering consequences AND THE SAME GOES FOR UMPIRES.

I umpired four years of Babe Ruth baseball, reffed one year each of high school football and high school lacrosse and adult Christian flag football. I've watched sports at a variety of levels for 37 years and I've NEVER seen anything remotely like an umpire being ejected. I heard ONE story about a soccer referee who ejected himself in my nearly 51 years on this planet.
First of all. The umpire did make light contact with the player. When the umpire got rejected. All I could see was Steve Harvey's skit about a black man being fired. Pointing and getting very animated. Check it out. Very funny
hahaha, I saw a infraction that all 3 umpires missed on pre-game. Two players from the same team is wearing the number 42. By NFHS rule one of those guys can't even be in the dug-out. This is the plate umpires job when he is handed the line up. He has to check the line up for double numbers and players not on the team. 1st the other team coach has to bring up the inlegrable player status to the blue. But the numbers he can act on right away by demanding a player put on another shirt with a different number. time stamp 04:18
That wasn't no for arm! He clinched his fist and stuck 42 in the sternum! That umpire should not ever be allowed to ump another game. It was released that it was about an iPad being in the dug out that the first base ump thought was illegal for them to have and it wasn't. So in short his ego wasn't letting up. Mistakes were made but assault is assault! Base ball players get their arguments in because they know it can't be undone one your ejected. If he can't handle it it shouldn't be in the position it's part of the "GAME"

From the perspective of umpires who always get what they want even when they're wrong, it must have seemed very disrespectful to have that many levels from players to executives to league officials all contradict your authority.
The rule is all players has to be in the dugout except the on-deck batter and the coaches on 1st and 3rd base. The guy exjected was on the rail was clearly not in the dugout. I don't what the player did. He might have use the F word. He got ejected so fast. On the shove the base umpire didn't do his very basic job. The plate umpire did his part of the job by separating the angry umpire. The base umpire let the angry ball player follow the plate and angry umpire this is a rookie kind of mistake. This umpire should have made the ball player go to the dugout.

Umpire assaulted player/manager. Umpire Warren Nicholson told the Manager to get rid of a league approved tablet that was in the dugout. So the manager didn't take to kindly of it since it was league approved. Personally, I think think because the tablet was approved, along with the contact, that is why Warren Nicholson was removed.
I hope someone took this caster out for a beer and a nice steak dinner after this. Being able to keep interest during the whole situation, radio or not, is something that takes skill.
