Michael Redd: What Caused His SUDDEN Downfall?

  • Michael Redd was one of the best shooters and scorers in the 2000s, but he's often forgotten in an era with many other great shooting guards. Redd only made the playoffs three times in his entire career, and a lot of it was because his Bucks teams were never that good. By the time the Bucks became better, Redd had already started to decline. So...what happened? Hope you enjoy the video!

Very unsung, he was a player that got better with time. Milwaukee just couldn't build the right squad around him. He is a very humble dude, good dude, he now has his own church here in Columbus, Ohio. I remember right before he went to the NBA I saw him riding around cramped up in this tiny hoopty lol. I went to college with his wife, real humble nice person as well. Hail to Columbus' own, Michael Redd.

It would have been really great to see him pair with LeBron when he was in Cleveland desperately needing another quality player other than big Z.

Michael Redd has always been very underrated. I appreciate it whenever he gets credit where due. I did not however realize just how he fell from his high-sailing career. Figured it would be wear and tear, but had no idea just how ridiculous that wear & tear really was on him.
As for Andrew, the thing that wound up ruining his dominance in the league was his constantly growing ability to get injured. His knees reminded me of a Brandon Roy type of degeneration. On top of it, he suffered from fairly consistent problems and injuries to his shoulders and his wrists. The most notable injury though was that dislocated elbow.

Michael Redd was my favorite player and it is sad to watch someone like him suffer through injuries and fade from the line light. I think they broke him and Desmond Mason up to soon. Maybe if he had stayed in Milwaukee a little longer something could've happened and even though he returned for the 07-08 season you could tell that he wasn't the same player as he was. I also wish Redd could've stayed healthy for the sake of working alongside Richard Jefferson. Another uniqueness about Redd was his quick release and left handed slingshot type jump shot.

Michael Redd , is like many players who look good off the bench then they wear out sooner then expected because desperation of bad teams push minutes on good players inflating numbers but hurting long term health things like this are why rules where passed to limit regular season minutes.

Great video as usual but those type of videos are basically the same and end the same way - the guy gets a few injuries and never gets back to his old self... so maybe you should go to another direction... For example - a video about players who were labeled as the next Jordan and how it played out for them. or a videos about teamated feuding. or about players who actually fired coaches. just a suggestion

I remember there was game vs atlanta where him and joe johnson are going head to head they had similar style, slow paced , smooth jumpers but no one was paying attention to them, because of the paul pierce's , kobe's tmacs and all
