  • Although there are a lot of videos on UA-cam describing how to improve your rap skills and go from beginner to advanced…
Most of them are more so “strategic” than tactical. Meaning that they give you higher level advice rather than step-by-step frameworks you can use RIGHT now to become a better rapper.
Therefore, many many aspiring rappers are often left wondering: how do I elevate my skills from beginner or intermediate to advanced using specific TACTICS (a.k.a. skills I can repeat until I master them) instantly?

The first secret to becoming an advanced rapper revolves around the art of enhancing your lyrical imagery.
Let’s face it; there’s a world of difference between a line like “I’m headed to the top” and a more visually impactful line like “My habitat is the stratosphere, you can glance up at the planets and see I went intergalactic in half a year”, etc.
The second secret to ascending the ranks in rap is learning to manipulate your vocal pitch and emphasis on individual words.
This seemingly minor adjustment can significantly impact your overall sound, taking you from beginner status to someone who seems to have a handle on their craft.
This typically stems from a lack of dynamics or changes in vocal pitch, which can leave your rhymes sounding flat and uninspiring.
The third secret to leveling up your rap game involves employing multiple rap voices within the same song.
Again, Eminem is a master of this technique. He often introduces characters into his songs, creating a dynamic narrative landscape.
For example, take the character ‘Ken Kaniff’ that frequently appears in his skits and even has his own bars.
The fourth secret to becoming an advanced rapper is to master freestyling through an entire beat.
There are plenty of successful rappers who don’t freestyle. However, being able to freestyle effectively often correlates with an ability to create new flows more effortlessly.
Take my own experience as an example. When I first started rapping, I solely wrote rhymes. I was decent, but my flow lacked fluidity - I couldn’t comfortably ride any beat.
The fifth secret is about expanding your songwriting beyond the standard verse and chorus.
While it’s true that many successful songs are composed of just verses and choruses, the most memorable tracks from the biggest rappers often include additional elements like bridges and breakdowns.
Take 50 Cent, for instance. He revolutionized the rap scene not just with his mixtapes, but by being one of the first gangsta rappers who was also a songwriter at heart.
Our sixth secret to becoming an advanced rapper is genre experimentation.
For example, you could easily find on UA-cam and then experiment with an Amy Winehouse type beat or even a rock-inspired Nirvana type beat. They have many regular rap producers who make beats like this online and are similarly experimenting like you.
You’ll find that exploring these different musical landscapes can elevate your songwriting skills to a whole new level.
As an aspiring rapper, it’s crucial to develop a keen ear for music. This isn’t just about training your auditory skills; it’s about expanding your artistic vision and your grasp of sonic textures.
Self-mixing is one powerful way to do this. Even if you aren’t the person ultimately responsible for mixing your tracks, understanding the process can give you a more profound connection to your music.
This isn’t just about getting your hands on top-tier equipment - it’s about immersing yourself in the rich tapestry of the music industry, learning to communicate effectively with other creatives, and mastering the language of music creation.

I'm just taking in everything, I've fallen a bit behind with my craft 😅. To everyone else working towards being an artist, keep going. Take breaks as needed but don't stop for too long or you'll start to lose it. Trust me. Stay safe everyone, and remember to remain positive! ❤

Loved all of this! DONT SLEEP ON FREESTYLING IN YOUR DOWNTIME! It’ll help your brain start thinking in rhyme scheme and your everyday life not only becomes interesting but you’ll start getting bars for no reason, other than your brain made an amazing correlation with something going on. I get most of my bars in the bathroom lol

Meditation is great too. Hardest part in freestyling is focusing and if you can master that. You'll begin to see how juice did it for a whole hour. If you pay attention you can see juice has a tactic where he keeps the energy levels up by using his eye movements

@@mayankpatel1111 examples I wrote this in roughly 4 hours. Just a sample of one I wrote.
My school days were all a dream a place where I was supposed to get a better education. It was all so overwhelming the teachers the school.
The people was a lot to take in the shoes the trousers and blazer that I wore for the first time, that was always blazing hot in summertime.
Reminds me of Michael Jackson black trousers white socks. Don’t know why I was stuck in a weird place sandwiched between the nerds and the bad boys in this perpetual hell. I was eventually five foot tall plus even if you didn’t like me you had to respect me a baby giant on his way up.
My school days group strong call us the avengers, some names I remember, Doyin, Rylan, Daniel, Robert, Philip, Stephen,Tevin, Sophie, Kellie and so many more we shared adventures.
Education came second maths and English class was a mystery. I don’t even remember did not feel important vital to my survival.
      AND ANOTHER SAMPLE:
      The pain, the pain.
Pause freeze, have a moment of silence……..
      Inverted person……..
      inverted spirit………..
      Delve into my mind.
A black hole needing wanting to be filled.
I can’t get no love here, ignored as a child and as an adult, not a thing to play with.
      My hearts crying it’s empty………..
Put the pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle.
It’s easy to discover my pain…….
      My anger………
      My depression………….
I just wrote this song for the O G’s the master!
Play that beat boy. I know you a monster!
Boy I play with your beats like it’s music to my ears keep that fire burning don’t you ever put that fire out because the wind is blowing!
Don’t step on them streets unless you protected and loaded.
