What I struggle with the most is really understanding the whole marketing aspect of music and knowing who my music targets. I guess just knowing what audience my music would cater too and understanding how to package it in a way that would get someone interested to actually listen to it.
Think about who your favourite artists are. Whatever ones bring the most inspiration into your work. Those would be your starter target audience. Aslong as your music is good & similar to the artist they’ll atleast give it a chance.

Having variety/versatility is one of the greatest qualities an artist can have. Just be yourself, speak your mind and dont try to make your music in a way where you think about what would appeal to others. If your music is real and you are being authentic your own sound will cristalize itself soon enough
When it comes to beat selection you can either pick a particular element you like and want to focus on like the type of drum or the instrument that plays the melodies such as piano, guitar, flute or whatever or just hop on any type of beat that is appealing to you
having a sound that varies is good but you as an artist should have some idea what connects it all. And that’ll honestly just come from your personal tastes and interests.
