why do manufacturers feel its mandatory to have a red and black scheme on all amd motherboards? I just want a stealthy all black board.
jatniel perez or the MSI PC mate and/or Tomahawk
Jose Vazquez pc mate b350 then. best looking! and working like a charm with my ryzen 1700
cause it make the pc faster lol. This also applies to cars... Just paint it red and Boom (Use the Crazy Russian Hacker acent). Now you have a faster car.
check out the new asus strix b350-f motherboard , its all black with some carbon fiber-like texture
Black and red are the colours of AMD Radeons, and the manufacturers just figured it would be safest to go with the colours of graphics cards they figured would most likely be put into these boards.
I recently bought a Bigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 board on sale and it is a great board. Works great together with my Ryzen 5 2400G and Corsair 3200Mhz modules. Sound quality is great.
Really really solid video, very informative and entertaining!
My boy from the other side of the planet coming through
MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic does this mobo support 1 ssd + 3 hdd ?? thinking to upgrade my pc thx
BPS Customs you earned my subscription with this video! Very nice job, slick production, solid breakdowns.
Where is the Msi b350 pc mate?
Love the camera angles!
In Asrock if you want 7.1 audio , you must use all available ports , including the ports in the front .....
Another fantastic overview, Brian! I expect nothing less at this point.
+obzen33 that's a lot of pressure
BPS Customs I think you can handle it :)
I think the Tomahawk fits my bill as I have an old AMD Radeon R9 200 series GPU which is a dual slot system and I want to upgrade to a Ryzen AM4 socket to play the Microsoft VR Flight sim. This video is very good and has helped in my search.
First time viewing your channel and I'm now subscribed. Great video, lots of help to this soon-to-be R7 1700/B350 owner.
Msi b350 gaming plus is good too
Outstanding video... I had just purchased one of them before watching this video. I am very happy with my selection after seeing this video. They are all very good and carry some great advantages.
This was very informative, really appreciate it.
Most other tech reviewers seems to avoid discussing the actual technical things & talk more on the fluffs like RGB.
And also you got a new subscriber :)
You definitely deserve more subs.
5:36, the board has white leds around the pcb on the back. on every corner and in the middle... it's not on the board directly, but it would be worth mentioning, because it is a nice touch and it gives you a very nice back-glow effect. :)
cimenTo89 so I the mobo stable??
How do those LEDs look
What color scheme can I go with
?? yes
Love this board and the lights in the back make it that much better!!
That was very useful. But why do AMD boards have video ports when the chips have no iGPUs?
AMD ryzen 2400g
good vid i got the asus prime plus board and so far its been great was worried it wouldn't boot up due to all the bad reviews on amazon and newegg and I did a box test bench and it booted right up no 1-5 minute boot up to the bios which is great. :)
ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS ftw
YEAH ME TOO
Thanks, never had a problem with ASUS in the past, so why rock the boat.
It works with Ryzen 5 2600 and DDR4 Ram (2x8gb) right? sorry. I’m new to pc building
I like the MSI - B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard it fits my build nicely
I wished you would have put all the motherboard trough a short stresstest (VRM temperatures) and a overclock test.
Wheres AB 350 K4 from asrock ??
What about strix...
was hoping to see the board's BIOS/UEFI in action, with at-least one Ryzen 5 chip...
Why is it impossible to have a *blue* and black AMD build ??
I reckon I'll go with the Gigabyte AB350-Gaming 3 since those six USB 3.1 ports are super nice and I only need one M.1 solution due to going for the Samsung Evo 1TB model. Thanks! Great video!
I have a ryzen 5 1600 in a cooler master lite5 rgb and I’m using the msi b350 tomahawk arctic the build looks sick and had that led that runs down the middle of the build
I intend on using the AB-350 for my first custom build for video editing purposes
What's your other hardware? For adobe premiere cc pro 2015 video editing.
I got the fatality board paired with a r5 1600 and so far I've got to say I like it....easily overclocked to 3.8 but haven't tried to go higher yet
Nyda is it good? Im planning to buy this mobo just because its good enough and the price is fair enough
Any problems?
rocking MSI Gaming Pro with a 1600
and im very happy with it
Tanasij Penko how did your bill would go? I'm putting my PC together tomorrow, I got the b350 Tomahawk, 1600, GTX 1060 six GB, and 16 GB of 2133 ram
I meant how did your build go
how did yours go?
Caravite I've been reading that unless the bios is 1.3 it won't boot with the r5 1600 chip out of the box. Is that true?
That Tomahawk Arctic is too visually sexy for me to care about the extra M2 slots etc. on the others
which one is the best?
Hello, everyone! I have a question:
I've taken it upon myself to assemble my system, using the B350M Tomahawk.
My problem is that I've noticed the GPU is kind of touching the SSD M.2 that I've mounted in it's respective slot under the PCI connector for the video card.
Currently, everything works but is there any chance this might become a problem or cause problems over time?
NEED TO KNOW ASAP: can you pair the ryzen 5 2600 with the MSI artic board, as i put them on pc part picker and it came up with a warning about updating bios but only with a very old ryzen chip. TIA
Has this been solved?
Wish I would have watched this before I built me PC yesterday
I've got the MSI B350 tomahawk but the normal edition and not the arctic
i personally find it better because its color scheme fits more since there are more black products than white.
The Gigabyte gaming 3 board is similar to the one I looked at on Newegg but it said it was the Gaming K3 model and not just the gaming 3. My other contenders were the X370 Taichi and or the X370 Pro by Asrock, or the 2 Asus boards of the ROG Strix series, the Strix X370-F gaming or the B350-F. I had different reasons for picking those certain boards. Will you be updating this to talk about those or other boards?
I went for Gigabyte AB350-Gaming 3, since I heard that it would work right away with most components out of the box (and it did work with my Ryzen 5 1600 and Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz ram, however, it doesn't seem to want to clock the RAM above 2133MHz)
Can these aupporr Ryzen 5 2400G
So all of these work with the ryzen 5 2600 and DDR4 (2x8gb) ram.
I think gigabyte is better deal.
Nuno Fontainhas yes
I normally like Gigabyte, but there's no heatsink at all on the top VRMs. Nada. What's with that? The Asus Prime B350-Plus at least has a heat sink there.
I went with the Asus Prime B350-Plus as a result, plus the Asus board was $10 off on that day, and was therefore $10 cheaper than the Gigabyte. It's a very stable board, and I'm happy with it.
Guy Fawkes Unless you're running ryzen 7, all of the VRMs will be fine. I have the Gigabyte board with a ryzen 5 1600 oc'd to 3.9 GHz, and the hottest my temperatures have gotten on the vrm is 90°C after a night of prime95. The vrm chokes are rated for 125°C. The power phases that are over top the CPU aren't for CPU power delivery any how, so it's not like you'll be producing that much heat on those. If you want to see a round up of b350 boards for overclocking, look at Buildzoid's video.
Guy Fawkes, hi bro.. I am thinking to purchase amd 1600x and Asus b350 motherboard. would you tell me how good is Asus compare with your rizen.
Shaikh Ahmed I have the rog strip b350f. Omg price per feature it's fantastic. Has a ton of features and kicks the plus to the curb imho.
I am using ASRock ab350 4k gaming
I have used MSi boards most of my building life and had 0 problems tell i hit DDR4 plant form. I have a B250 board and the ram slots dont work. I can put one 8 gb stick in all four and it works. Put 2 sticks in and its shuts off. i have bought four kits and it dose it to all of them.
What about the B350ms? The micro-atx boards? Should I go with the MSI Mortar or MSI Gaming plus?
Rayyan Ali gaming plus
Henry Cohen Does it have better overclocking capabilities than the Mortar B350m? I'm kinda new to all these talks related VRMs, so please bear with me.
I just bought am4 but that msi one looks gg
Can anyone recommend a good micro (not mini itx) atx b350 motherboard? I plan to pair it with either a 1500x or 1600.
if i put vga card into slot 2... its ok?
hey ! really nice video! i am just about to build my ryzen pc featuring r5 1600 but i am mainly concerned about motherboard because in my country electricity shutdowns over/undervoltage and sudden times is common.. i would like you tell me if that Asus b350 prime would protect me from this sudden loss or not (as you said in the video about its voltage things that i dont know much about) Thanks!
+Taimoor Shafiq there's no way to guarantee safety when dealing with sudden voltage fluctuation but of these boards ASUS does it best. They actually make a point to address this on almost all of their products
So in order to really save my most expensive pc yet i have to use some surge protectors or regulators or something? can you help me in finding one thats not much expensive? Thanks!
UPS is your solution. Something like that www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842102048&cm_re=cyberpower_ups-_-42-102-048-_-Product
better to have one UPS for voltage drop all of a sudden
Is the MSI Gaming AMD Ryzen B350 DDR4 VR Ready HDMI USB 3 ATX Motherboard (B350 Gaming Plus) a full motherboard?
Do I need a full cooling tower case?
Is asus the only one with overvoltage protection on all important components? I am looking at the MSI boards but ASUS is a better option if that is the case.
jment34 My Gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 has overvoltage protection on at least the LAN and USB ports. That being said, you would be much safer if you used a surge protector for a reputable brand like APC.
Is there a difference between the MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic and the "normal" non-Arctic B350 Tomahawk? (except of the colour of course)
no difference .. its just the color variation .. Red Black and Silver white and i believe there is one more variant ..
Nope, they're the same
Will a dark rock pro 3 cpu cooler fit on this board?
I just ordered a Ryzen 7 1700 and the MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic :D
Ey, how is it running?
Im thinking of going with a ryzen 5 1600, b350 tomahawk arctic, 16gb ddr4 2400mhz and a m.2 250gb + the nzxt s340
I got the ryzen 5 1500x, the b350 tomahawk arctic, and a nzxt s340. The board looks like really good in the white/purple case.
ryzen 7? to a b350? damn. what a waste of money. that board cant even handle it of what that ryzen 7 can do. better order x370 for that ryzen 7
Pachulo Gwapo R7 1700 run smooth on B350 boards,1600 and 1700 are identical clockspeed when its not overclocking,1600 at stock is 3.20-3.60 ghz and the r7 is 3-3.70ghz stock,.no problem to use B350 mobo to a r7 1700,even if he use some basic OC'ing to 3.8 to 3.9ghz the board still ok,.
i clicked edit to just adding that he is using 1700 not X series.
I went with the B350 MSI Gaming Plus which is basically identical to the PC Mate, but red and black, which I purchased because it was the least expensive ATX motherboard at the time that was already able to run 2933-3200mhz ram. I was going to get the asrock Pro4 but it didn't support a lot of different ram yet. Not the one that I purchased anyway (Ripjaws V 3200mhz, 16gb).
Gaming k4 or b350plus for 5 2400g wich better???
Hello I'd like to know why is the GA-AB350 Gaming 3 is better than the Gaming without that 3, if someone can help me...
I prefer the MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic, and would love to install it into a Thermaltake Versa C22 RGB Snow Edition case.
Edit:
I thought I would share my Ryzen 7 1700 build plan with the community:
pcpartpicker.com/list/xxnLgL
Has anyone built something like this? If so, what are your thoughts on its performance? Were your expectations met with this build?
Does am4 motherboard supports AIO cooling?
Does anyone know up to how many GPU does it support? Thank you.
what about Asus Rog Strix B350-F Gaming?is it a good mobo?
Commander Riley you just pay more for the rgb
Hi, I would like to ask does strix b350f have the 5x protection i.e. the full esd protection like the prime b350 has? I was thinking of buying strix because of the Intel Lan chipset.
i test the asus. in here using the lates bios we could not made 3200 on the memory. and even with any configuration 1.5 volts was needed to go on a 1600x to 4.0. in the end we activate the performance mode on the asus since give more stability. I was comfy with that even using a deepcool 120 rad solution and temps where very good.
what about the Asus strix B350-F board?
Do you think gtx 1050 ti, ryzen 5 1400 or 1500x, 8gb ram ddr4 2133mhz hyperx fury, 500w psu, segate 1tb, antec gx 500 and b350 gaming plus is a good budget build? or should i change the mtb?
I bought the msi b350 pc mate.
how it perform
Will the dark rock pro 3 cpu cooler fit on this motherboard
so better choice asus prime b350 plus or gigabyte ab350 gaming 3? for ryzen 5 1600 normal oc for dialy gaming casual
Asus Prime is good for me since it still have PCI slots to use my old Audigy 2ZS :)
I would use the AsRock Fatality K4 motherboard for my Ryzen 1600X. I find the 2x M.2 impressive. especially their location away from the heat compared to the other two.
AB350 gaming 3 support Ryzen 1600x??
I need 2400g but none of them dosenot support stock 2933mhz ram so what I need to do ?
If i buy 2667mhz corsair 4gb×2 and then overclock it to 3200mhz ..??
Plz someoner help me
It would be better for ram ??
Which B350 motherboard would be OK to not have trouble doing overclock in processor and RAM (3200 Mhz)?, Want to build a PC with Ryzen 5 1600.
Tomahawk b350 Works with MSI Light Sync?
yes, but its not changing colors in stock RGB, stock RGB is just red!
@@nickm1819 But does AMD wraith spire RGB change the color?
ive got the msi tomohawk now but may upgrade to msi B350 KRAIT maybe 370
IM TOLD BOTH OF THOSE overclock better than tomohawk?
they should make top
mobos with an option to get the retro green pcb’s. Bring back the 90’s!
When I saw how crappy the VRMs were on the top-of-the-line MSI XPower Gaming Titanium compared with Asus and Gigayte's top X370 boards' VRMs, that kind of turned me off MSI altogether. Are their B350 boards actually decent in their power delivery?
Guy Fawkes 3 phases no
Guy Fawkes They are what you should expect from budget boards. All of them, except for the MSI B350M gaming Pro and all of the Gigabyte B350 boards are fine
what about the strix b350?
My board is the msi b350m gaming pro is it compatible with ryzen 5 2400g?
Mohanad Hani Yes, it is!
Any BIOs issues with the ryzen 5 2600, msi b350 tomahawk, gtx1050ti?
which one better b350 gaming pro or mortar?
will these motherboards supports APU,s of AMD
means is these boards comes with updated BIOS..
Can you make another videos of B350 support for RAM overclock and Multi GPU reviews ? I mean like, most of them do support RAM OC only on 2 slots of 4. And even when having 2 GPU slots, they dont suport 100% Multi GPU CROSSFIRE or SLI..its hard to find info
Tomahawk Arctic would be my pick
To be clear you are not able to use all 6 Sata if you want to use the M2 . It's 4 sata and the M2 or just 6 sata.
Im picking the tomahawk arctic and im not sure if its compatible with the ryzen 5 2600 (no x), if anyone actually sees this, can you please confirm?
I am about to buy a b350 ATX Which one is the best compared with 2666 ddr4 ( under 100$ ) Help ManGhost out
what baout the ryzen 5 2600x?
Asus B350 plus for $75 today because it's prime day! Had to pick it up, will pair with Ryzen 5 1600.
Jefafa Von Richthofen is the asus good? i am thinking of getting it
I'd say it's on par with the others as far as performance. As stated in the vid, this board doesn't have all the fancy RGB stuff or some of the extra connectors which is perfectly fine with me for what I want to build.
Jefafa Von Richthofen ok thanks
You's reckon this can run a Ryzen 5 1600x??
What about the b350m bazooka
wich is the best???
Can I pair any of these motherboards with a Ryzen 2600x and a GeForce GTX 1060 6gb Strix? This is my first build and I already have the gtx 1060.
yes you can
but there is a chance you might need to update the bios
I need a board that is compatible with ryzen 5 2400g and wraith cooler and 8gb ddr3 ram
What b350 board would be best for my build?
GPU: Gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb windforce
CPU: Ryzen 3 1200
MEMORY: hyperx fury 8gb 2133 mhz ddr4
HDD:Seagate 1tb
PSU: Evga 500watt white or should i use bronze?
CASE: Corsair Carbide
I think you forgot to mention the dacUP on the gigabyte usb2 wich gives you the option to increase USB voltage for specially power hungry devices like a mobile phone that's completely drained ect.
As the amperage increase, voltage drops, the dacUP gives you the option to charge these devices with ease.
Goin B350
With Ryzen 5 2400G which motherboard should I get???
Which would perform better in terms of overclocking and stability with a ryzen 3 2200 g and 8GB Ram: MSI B350M BAZOOKA AM4 AMD B350 or GIGABYTE AB350M-DS3H AM4 AMD B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
i prefere 2 m.2 drives. makes cable management easier. and nowadays cost is coming down on those sata m.2
And if u buy a mb with a320 chip , is that bad ? 🤔
I have 1050ti and ryzen 5 1600 what motherboard should I get to run fortnite
B450 boards please!!
i ike gigabyte for build in amp audio. which not told in the video sadly
If I choose any of these motherboards will I need to do bios update for my ryzen 5 2400g
King_Apple_Gaming No!
