the delays between releases make sense. I mean be practical, it's one team working on a multitude of projects that require a lot of care and polish. I'm content with waiting cause I'd rather be patient and get the good stuff than expedite the whole thing and get somethin' half baked

The new escort mission is gonna be so dope. Just drilling through the planet and when you look up you just see a waterfall of glyphids chasing after you.
While "They're here!" plays, that's gonna be a blast!

I'm honestly stoked for S5, because I started playing in S4, so I never had a chance to play during the earlier seasons, and to unlock the cosmetics and materials
Deep scan would go so hard in deep dives, just imagine having deep scan AND having to protect doretta before or after getting the morkite seeds
As crazy as that sounds, it could happen if the devs don't make the deep scan an objective that can only be primary

As i Started at season 3. A delayed Season 6 gives me the time i need to play seasons 5, 1 and 2.
Perfect for me.
I really love the season 5 weapon frames. In my opinion they are a cleaner version of neon band
But the question is: Can they rival Mil spec?

I would love to see an overclock for the Smart Rifle where you remove the “Smart” out of the rifle, making it a Lobotmized Burster 😂
In simple terms, just making it a regular three round burst gun.
Dumb rifle
Make it shoot with crazy spray pattern and a 16-round, 1 second burst making it the retarded rifle
Yeah, three round burst, keeps the electrocution effect, a lot more ammo and faster burst. That'd be dope.
Depending on how else they change it, that could be interesting.
Maybe no waiting for burst, or the longer you hold the longer the burst but faster charge up than the executioner
Or better yet, make it so that the smart tracking instantly releases after 3 shots or something and you use it immediately after with no cooldown
I wouldn't say its the BIGGEST update.. season 1 still holds that title.. but BEST? absolutely.
The positive for me with the massive wait is that not only am i not that frequent a player, but i only started in s4, so i have 3 whole seasons of extra content aside from season 5 to grind

I only joined the game during Season 4, and I still love the game; to hear from others that it was a "bad season" and the excitement people have for Season 5, it's making ME excited for what's to come!
The new weapon frames look AMAZING. I don't really like the look of the S4 ones, but I feel like I'll be getting most (if not all) of these S5 frames. Being able to check out the other seasons' unlocks is also a big plus, as I'm sure I'll find some weapon frames in those I like the look of too.
They are really packing on the content here. Season 5 is gonna keep me veeeeery busy.

I'm really excited for the stalker. It seems like exactly what I like from deep rock: something that can create crazy and unique situations you need to work through.
THIS SEASONS GONNA BE AMAZING! Also one thing i hope that will happen with the new ghost glyphid enemy is that there should be a sound indicator to when it is close to approaching you similar to the sound of when you get close to the ghost detonator in haunted cave missions so that you have time to react before it hits you. But overall this was definitely worth the wait and im mostly excited for the new mission type and the new hazard 5+. ROCK AND STONE!
They said on stream that the stalker will let out a cry when it is about to attack you.
I appreciate the summary video, I listen to these and other UA-cam stuff at work and it’s hard to keep consistent focus on a livestream while also helping customers. I will probably watch the reaction stream later but this is appreciated for now

this season sounds extremely fun the deep scan mission sounds superrr cool, just imagining drilling far underground with enemies coming down from above, the swarm music playing, running around repairing and shooting, i have never been this excited for an update in any game lol

Been playing DRG since season 3 and I've loved it ever since. I recently got some of my friends to start playing and after seeing what's to come in season 5, I can't wait to bring my pals along. Rock and Stone!!!
Dude the drillavator idea is EXACTLY an idea i had for a new mission months and months back. Now i wish i had posted it to the subreddit when I thought it. Ah well.
Well, knowing my experience in dealing with Stalkers in Helldivers 2, it will surely be an amusing but also a painful experience that I am looking forward to when it finally arrives.
Looking at this season, it just just so much more going for it than what season 4 had. Season 4 if you think about it was, 6 new enemies(4 of which where just alternative versions of older enemies), a boss, an upgrade that only appeared in a handful of missions, some loadout mixups, and a arcade machine. This season has new warnings, mission type, event, overclocks, enemies, changes to old missions, and a lot of quality of life updates. Looking back, I honestly didn't realize how shallow season 4 was compared to every other season. I thought it was just merely the lack of new weapons.
Framework look like Dr Eggmans ships or something like Ironman
I love it
I've seen in previous seasonal games like Diablo 3 that the first few seasons were enormous, as devs work to include ideas they had for the base game but had to place on the backburner to hit the deadline. The more of those ideas come out in subsequent seasons, the more the main game resembles their original ambition, and the less remains to add on top of it all later on. Seasonal development simply can't help but slow down eventually, but I'm glad to see we're not there yet.
Tbh, Inferno for the Flamethrower, would probably be better off named something like, _"Fuel Venting"_ so it isn't confused with the Breach Cutter overclock, as well as better indicating how it changes the weapon...

Im so hyped! New Mission type sounds amazing, new modifiers look cool, new Caves ontop of the already amazing variety...im a bit sceptical for the stealth enemys tho. i kinda like the phases where you can just chill, enjoy the atmosphere and not have to worry about enemys to much.

As someone who has had the game since early access (mainly to support the devs) and never really played a lot until now, I am very excited for Season 5. Looks like a lot more fun content and adding back all the old season stuff is great.

The Stalker was in the game and with the swarm control mod I believe you can add it into the enemy spawn pool. It worked extremely well and based on what they told us in the dev stream the enemy felt near finished. There were even voice lines for the dwarves when they pinged or took out a stalker, some of them were pretty funny.
The stalker’s visible model was a regular slasher but with green armor and was slightly bigger.
The files for this enemy have recently been removed from the game as well as all the dwarf voice lines related to it but there is a mod called “Stalker Returns” that re-implements the enemy back into the game.
That new mission type reminds me of that level in Halo 2 where you have to fight off the flood as you're going down the elevator

very nice thanks J, for me the delay is reasonable since you probably are going for about 100+ hours per season completion, unless you already unlocked and played every season up to date, there is plenty of content to look for indeed. Or course for the only-drg players (or for any person that only plays that game), the space betweek updates is usually long anyways, but for the most part of the players it is a very ok timing. most MMOs probably go for 2 updates a year, like 1 major and 1 minor, unless you are epic games and you have a ton of money and personal 😂
So from what I understand, the Drillevator sequence in the new Deep Scan mission is kinda like that Halo 2 level where you're fighting the flood on a moving elevator platform?
On a side note, it would be cool if Gunner or Driller got some kinda low RoF/high damage weapon, like a ballista or artillery cannon

All of this (except the delay) sound super hype. I'm really excited for the new mission type, cosmetics, Haz 5+, et cetera. I am kind of wary of the new infector enemy, though, just because I worry if there will be strategies to avoid its attacks like there are for most other enemies (like shooting the spitballs out of the air).

i also love the way they did promotions past legendary 3. I've used a mod that shows them, but this one is *way* better (and we get legendary 4, too!).
season selector is also noice. When they moved to seasons and announced that previous loot would go into regular loot pools, i knew said pools would get bloated af pretty fast. Glad they found a good way to fix that.
new enemies look sick af too, and Ebonite Outbreak is nice. I'd always hoped they'd add something like that.

I was worried about the new enemies being troublesome, being ranged, with splash and invisible, but we'll learn to deal with them.

For the new mission type the mortar overclock for the autocannon will probably be a gamechanger, because when the vertical drilling strarts, the glyphids will be on every segment of the wall. This makes it so that most single-target weapons take up loads of time to rid the entire wall of the glyphids. Proximity mines and sticky flames will also be king.
the frameworks do indeed look absolutely amazing
i wish they would add a new use for perk points past well, the perks. im pretty sure most people have got all perks maxed by now and probably have a ton of left over perk points so being able to trade them in for cosmetics, cores, minerals or credits would be awesome

I love the horror elements of DRG and I think the Stalker would add so much to that
Marked for death with embedded detonators on the zhukovs is gonna be insane.
I think they have already tooled up some of the modifiers as I sure feel like sometimes there are alot more spitters and grabbers on some missions.

Funnily enough, the glypid stalker existed in the games files for quite some time, i ironically encountered it when i ran a twitch integration mod that could add extra stuff to spawn in the caves, and i would sometimes encounter the "glyphid stalker" which at the time was basically a lime green and grey slasher that could turn invisible and had the hit and run AI (i dont remember if it had the emp ability), but what surprised me is that it had a bunch of actual "glyphid stalker!" callouts associated with it when you pinged it. Which led me to believe it was simply scrapped content. Neat to see that its making an official debut
i hope orestones are found in deep chasms that show up randomly in missions. Would be cool af.

All of the content, I won't lie looks of extremely high quality the new mission types, new overclocks, new enemies all of the concepts if done properly will feel amazing. However as for the amount of content no I do not think this is as much content as like season 1 or season 2 not even close mainly because of the fact it didn't seem to me they added anything in terms of real progression and the fact that they are no new guns or grenades or anything of that matter is hurting it in my opinion. I understand rogue core is in development but most people don't know whats up with that yet and we have been waiting for a year after a lackluster season.
4x double-turret Engi stacks on Deep Scan are definitely gonna help tank a massive chunk of the incoming swarm

I think they should adjust the stalker’s shimmer effect. It should be harder to see in low light conditions, not easier.
It goes completely invisible. What you see there is just a glimpse you'll get once in a while.
